I went here to grab a birthday gift for a close friends dirty thirty, the ladies working the store were so sweet and helpful! I never liked wine and I've tried so many over the years so I walked in there clueless! They let me try a wine and it was the first and only wine I actually liked! Not only did they help me find some good wines and gave me some good advice (they definitely know what they're talking about) but they even helped put together a gift bag with cute tissue paper, ribbon, and all! I highly Recommend this store for wine lovers and people having a hard time finding the right wine for them! Will definitely be going back for more gift baskets and wine tasting!!!! I have passed by this store so many times while shopping in the waterfront. Well, I'm glad I finally decided to check it out! The woman who helped us, Judy, was amazing! She friendly and funny. She let us sample several wines until we found the perfect one. I was also very pleased with the affordability of the wine. This place caters more towards sweet wines so if that's not your thing then this might not be the best place for you. However, the store is more wine accessories than actually wine, but it was still great! The wonderful customer service and delicious wine make this a five star store! read more

Located in Waterfront, the wine cellar is extremely homey and tastes great! Large selection of homemade award winning wine, I wanted to try the ice wine which was made from frozen grapes, but was 2 dollar for a sample, but they were very lenient and let me and a couple friends sample various wines and choose from those. I very much enjoy this place..I've only been here twice but never had a problem with the service. They have over 20 different wines for you to sample plus more to buy and a great selection of fruit wines. My favorite is the peach and flagship port which has a little more umph to it. They have plenty of wine accessories including openers, wine racks for the floor and wall, and decorations. I purchased a wall rack and I purchased a floor rack along with 8 different bottles. The older ladies were nice to me and helped me find what I wanted even though it took me a while to find exactly what I wanted. Only downside is that they never seem to have the items in the back room preboxed. I purchased both my items from the display. Then they put them in trash bags if they are too big! I have been here several times. The wine selection is good, but the service is inconsistent. Sometimes the ladies working are very "into" the business of selling wine, making sure that your selection is perfect, suggesting other bottles that you may have overlooked or might like better. Other times, it's like they are being held captive and are more interested in what they are missing outside or the weather is bad or, or, or. I'm no wine expert but the women who work here are! They know their stuff and they make you feel welcome. Me and my friend wandered in before a night out and it was worth the wandering. Sampling the wine was a nice experience and leaving with a Dutch apple wine was pretty impressive as I'm picky and it only took the woman behind the counter three tries to find me something I would fall in love with. Not only are the wines yummy but they're also affordable which is a win in my book. I don't know why it took so long for me to find this gem. I will most definitely be back. read more

I had a great experience here. They had great items ranging from wines to great decor for the biggest alcoholic and wine enthusiast in the city; however, my night was completely spoiled by the extremely rude and unpleasant ladies who were working. As a newly turned 21 year old, I have grown accustom to showing my ID, and I do not mind doing it one bit. I know the law, and I would never risk a business being fined by serving an underager. However the ladies were extremely rude when demanding I show ID first before even looking at a wine. Then, after showing my ID to the one nice ladies, the others looked over and saw me drinking and lost her mind. She was obviously too busy with her computer to see I had already been carded. Her redundancy about the fines that would be given if they served me underage were rather annoying and uneccasary. I love coming here. The bartenders are always extremely friendly and knowledgeable about wines. The selection is huge and sampling is very welcome when you're here! I always leave with 2 bottles, at least! They also have adorable shirts, glasses, cork holders, etc. read more

Seriously, if you try to match wines with food, go to the Wine and Spirits store in the same mall, where there's a larger variety of wines. If you like sweetened wines, this is a good place. This is my favorite place to buy wine when I am out by the Waterfront! The women who work there are extremely kind and helpful. When I first walked into this store, everything looked so delicious that I had a tough time deciding what to buy. Fortunately, the woman at the register allowed me to taste six different wines until I chose the one I wanted, providing me with snacks between tastings in order to cleanse my palette. All of the wines were fantastic, but I ultimately bought the strawberry wine. In addition to wine, this store sells some cute wine décor, trinkets, and other items. On a hot day, I recommend trying the slushie! I always love to support local liquor stores, so I will definitely be back here. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon this store in Station Square a while ago and were very happy to see that they opened a store closer to home. The staff is helpful, welcoming and very friendly. They sell wine from the band of wineries along the PA panhandle east or Erie. They have one brand, but several selections from it. We love to go and taste (they have all of their wine ready for tasting) and try new things. They also have great nick knacks and accessories such as wine racks, bottle holders, bottle stoppers, etc. Now, I have to give the disclaimer that I've been accused of having very "east coast" wine preferences siding with the lighter/sweeter wines... having said that, we do buy all of our wine from them! They do have Merlots and Cabernets, but I can't tell you if they're any good, but their fruit wines are delicious! With the people and atmosphere, it's a much better experience than the state store! :) read more

Came to the wine cellar on a Thursday night, walked in the door a woman was standing at the counter writing something and as I stood there said nothing to me until I said hi. I proceeded to ask if they do wine tasting and she looked at my crazy and said I can't believe you asked that of course we do wine tasting there's a huge sign outside, well I guess I missed it she seemed irritated I'm not sure if she had a bad day but she made me feel very uncomfortable. I had a great experience here. More wine "accessories" than wine,but they do have a decent selection. Quite a bit understaffed, so go on off times, but the staff who did help us was very patient and knowledgeable, and gave us a tasting (no more than 2 sips worth) of every wine available for sampling. Wine is great, no doubts there. Service however earned the rating!! Placed an order for wine as wedding favors. Was a pain in the ass from the start. Couldn't even provide a sample label without a credit card. Placed the order for the wine and labels in February and as of April 8, not even a sample label for the bottles were printed. Communication is terrible and at times rude. Was told one thing and got another. Very disappointing. Excuse was "I have other weddings I try to customize and other stores to run. If ya cant do it, hire people to help. It takes two months to customize a label? (Went to another vendor who customized a label for us in TWO minutes!!) I ordered a custom label and bottle of wine for Mother's Day. Mother happens to live in another city; so upon ordering it I explained that I will be picking up the bottle and shipping it to her. I sent the photo and tagline - Happy Mother's Day! via text followed up by an email. I even went to the Waterfront location to be sure the order had been received since it was a week and a day before Mother's Day. The website indicates that a custom label can be prepared within 2 to 3 days. I called each day to make sure nothing would go wrong with the order. And, of course, it did! Each time I called, I was told it wasn't ready yet. So I finally picked it up on Wednesday after driving for 40 minutes to get there (on my lunch break) and guess what ... the photo was grainy and the word "Mother's" was incorrectly spelled! If you're responsible for writing on the bottle, the words should be spelled correctly! The lady at the counter indicated she would make a note that I was unhappy with the label and would tell Kathy. (Given the timing I had to mail that bottle to my mother in order for it to arrive on time.) Much to my dismay I received a nasty email from Kathy, who incidentally has a very poor attitude when it comes to customer service, indicating how bad the picture was and how "I should have allowed more time for my order". Wrong answer ... don't blame the customer for shoddy workmanship, inability to spell or an inability to process the workflow. (Oh, I didn't mention all the typos in the email she sent me. smh) Don't take orders if you can't fill them. While mistakes can happen, when you start blaming it on the customer, that spells trouble. REFUND please! Don't let something important ride on the delivery of a quality product from these people. They can't deliver and will blame you for it. Too bad, they've lost a good customer. Wanted to try a winery close by and found this one which was great. However the service is terrible. First off I had to greet them. Then the woman who "helped" me was not friendly at all. She looked at me as if I shouldn't be in the store and when I asked what the price was to try wines she stated,"it's free as long as you're 21" follow this with an awkward pause. After this I asked for assistance in choosing a sweet wine, which once again I get an awkward pause and head tilts. She spoke very aggressively and when I asked about sweet wines she replies by telling me the history of the winery which was okay....however I did not ask for that. Being in this winery made me super uncomfortable and I felt they either didn't want to serve me or didn't want to work in general. It was beautiful Saturday afternoon so not sure what all the attitude was for. The one wine she did recommend was okay. The staff here is great as well as the selection of wine and accessories. They have all been very helpful, knowledgeable and personable during the wine tastings and make you feel at home. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was they only car two brands of PA wine even though Heritage wine does have a vast selection to cater almost to any taste.
