The service was good. Order was correct. Food came out fast. My only criticism is that the food was bland. The fried potatoes was bland and boring. I had my eggs sunny side and I think it was undercooked because the egg white was still runny and clear on top. The French toast had no flavor whatsoever and it was very dense and dry. We came to Penny Ann's to enjoy breakfast with a party of 5. I joined the waitlist before arriving, and that worked perfect as we were seated immediately upon arrival. Unfortunately, the service for the rest of the meal was woefully slow and our waitress was exceptionally inattentive. After bringing our beverages, she did not check on us again for nearly 40 minutes- the amount of time it took for our food to be prepared. Our meals were brought out over the course of 10 additional minutes, and very piecemeal- entrees but no sides, no entree for one person in our party for 10 minutes after everyone else got theirs. We had to request beverage refills several times before actually getting them. The waitress was polite enough- just didn't really seem like she cares to help us. I had a Denver omelette with their version of hash browns and a scone. I found their food pretty average and the hash browns maybe a bit undercooked for my taste. The service was very slow but I will add that this location has only been open for about a week when I first ate there. It's a very open area so it's also noisy. Great service and even though they estimated a 15 minute wait it was shorter. Every one from the person that checked us in to the server was a great interaction. The food tastes amazing. I sat savoring every bite of my PAC Eggs Benedict as I sipped on Hot Chocolate. So heavenly! It is a small cafe area but very clean and between the ambiance of the music quietly playing in the background and the delicious food then I easily got lost in conversation. I had a 2 egg breakfast which included potatoes and pan cakes. The potatoes were terrible. They were well done, had the skins on them, and were in tiny cubes. They were tasteless and were like chewing rubber. I asked for hash brown, when I ordered, and was informed they had none; however; the potatoes they served were wonderful. The meal would have been excellent with some hash brown. Why serve something that is so discussing. A choose of potatoes would be preferable. The potatoes served were quick to prepare. I'm sure that is why they are using them, but they add nothing to the meal. I wonder if the waiter had really tried them. The waiter asked if things was satisfactory and I informed him of my feelings regarding the potatoes. He stated he would tell the cooks, but I heard nothing from the cooks or the waiter; after I made my complaint. I was given my check and left the cafe. I really hate being this person... But we just ate at the new PAC in Bountiful and were so completely disappointed. Not only did we wait quite a while for our food-I got the biscuits and gravy and the potatoes were not even edible. Rock hard and Cold. My biscuit was very dense and just tasted like flour and the gravy was incredibly bland. My husband felt the same way about his chop steak. We had to add ketchup to everything just to eat what we did. We also brought our kids and all four of us left with pretty much full plates. Extremely disappointing, considering we usually go to Ramblin' Roads here in Bountiful and always leave happy. We're leaving hungry and having spent $50 on food we didn't eat.
