We went on a Thursday afternoon and there wasn't any wait to be seated. Our server greeted us immediately and said she'd be right with us. We got time to look at our menu and our waters came out quickly after she asked what we wanted to drink. Our food also came out quickly after ordering. We all enjoyed our food and loved the portion sizes! My stuffed French toast came with almost 8 slices of bread, it was huge! I just didn't feel like they dipped it very much in egg to create the nice crunch and flavor of French toast. The only time we had to wait was for our check. We waited about 15 minutes with all of our food gone for the check to be brought to us.

Been coming here for a few years now and it's always delish. Looking forward to this new addition: Heavenly Hotcakes with strawberry Dubai chocolate topping! Delish!

Our family's go to breakfast spot. Huge portions, great food. Service is amazing! Small little restaurant tucked in a strip mall, don't let that deter you. Penny Ann's has some amazing breakfast items that won't hurt your pocket. The scones are huge, the pancakes and French toast are to die for.

OMG, I finally did it!!! I've been wanting to try this breakfast restaurant ever since I heard they were opening a branch in Taylorsville--and today was the day! I ordered from Doordash. the Chicken Fried Steak with a side of Pancakes, and let me tell you... it did not disappoint. I also got an extra side of Chile Verde and OMG--so worth it!! Everything was flavorful, perfectly cooked, and just hit the spot.

Big breakfast + 1 pancake (reduced from 3 pancakes)

Yelpers have come thru again! I started my day at 4am & luckily had a smooth flight to Salt Lake City. But after a full flight & waiting for rental car, I was READY for breakfast. Photos seemed good, so straight to Penny Ann's Cafe from the airport! I immediately knew I wanted the big breakfast, and the kitchen is not messing around. A wonderful plate of food, and here's the thing. The pancakes will BLOW YOUR MIND. I can never achieve this at home... that perfect crisp on the outside, but fluffy inside. Nothing burned, everything served at the perfect temperature. Now the big breakfast comes with *3 pancakes* but I know my limit, so I asked the kitchen if I could have 1 pancake instead of 3. That was an excellent choice. 1 pancake totally makes me happy. Coffee was good. I wish my server had checked on us or was little bit more friendly, but solid place for breakfast & very reasonably priced. Do not miss!

We come here often but this is my first time reviewing it. The pancakes are good & absolutely huge, the serving sizes of all the dishes are excellent for the pricing, and service is always great. No wonder it's a popular place!

I'm a sucker for chicken and waffles, but these guys put the chicken IN THE WAFFLE and it's perfect! Taste as expected but SO good to trick my kids in to eating more protein. Kudos to whoever decided to do that. Service was great, the venue is chill. Very open, spacious and good for large groups. I'm and out of there, I didn't have to wait for a table either.

Penny Ann's has become a must-visit spot after the gym. The Yelp waitlist feature has saved me so much time--you just need to check in with the hostess once you arrive. I ordered the small breakfast with a side of pancakes, which came out in about 10 minutes. I'm a simple gal when it comes to breakfast, and they have one of the best classic breakfasts. You get a lot of bang for your buck here! We also ordered the hot chocolate, which was rich, but not overly sweet. It was perfect with the cold weather. It's always busy when I come, but the staff does a great job of keeping the tables and areas clean, and it's spacious!

So I think in talking to most of my friends I got a good view on the food, and presentation. I had a starter of Totchos, and the Beef Dipper for my entrée. Both were excellent, I shared my Totchos. These are tater tot nachos, they were excellent, normally I don't like cheese sauce on Nachos, but given the consistency and flavor of this sauce (house made, I'm guessing. Not canned) They were excellent. The Beef Dipper and Au Jus, also top notch! Generally in a French dip, there is a lot of fatty pieces, this was not that. Also at my table was the Chile Verde bowl, this one has a kick... but my friend having it really enjoyed it. The fish and chips was great, smelled fresh. Lets talk about the sides. Choice of Fries (appeared to be battered fries, always a favorite of mine.) Tots, or house made potato chips. I had the Potato Chips with mine, these were excellent, crisp and tender on the inside. The Athena (Lamb Burger) got rave reviews from one at the table The Service: Because we were in a large group they advised us they were going to be taking our orders as we came in so not to overwhelm the kitchen staff. Excellent communication throughout service given that we were a large group. I talked to one of the Owners, Laurie, I could tell she had a huge sense of pride in the place. Very friendly! The Restaurant: Great atmosphere, Fun artwork, best of all, VERY Clean, nothing sticky or no grease buildup on any surface. The glass ware on the wall behind the bar as all polished. In the bar area they stack their silver, tableware, condiments etc. in a cute little cozy box on the table, with the main dining area setup as a diner with the traditional paper napkin and silverware. For a diner motif to have shined silver and glassware is a nice touch! Summary: Eat here! The prices are reasonable, the food is excellent, when I looked at the menu online I was a little put off by no actual entrée's on the dinner menu, however the in house experience made up for that, it's a pub food vibe and they are doing it well!

We had the Children of the Corn and the Tower of Babel and the Squirrel's Nest french toast. The polenta was perfect: crisp outside, moist and flavorful with yummy toppings. My companion made sure to get every drop of the sauce on the Children of the Corn. I loved the salsa/over easy egg/spinach combo on the Tower, enhanced by perfectly crisped bacon. The french toast was again the perfect balance of moisture and crispiness. The vibe is friendly, and the owner is clearly delighted to set you up with some delicious food. AND- breakfast all day! The menu has a lot of fun wordplay, which made it more memorable. I ordered the "Forbidden One" and it did not disappoint. The omelette was super tasty, the bacon was perfectly crispy, and the chicken was well-seasoned and not dry at all. Even the fruit cup stood out. I was pleasantly surprised that it was made with freshly cut fruit instead of the usual pre-packaged mix. My only regret is not adding apples to the "Forbidden One" for the full forbidden fruit moment. Definitely something I'd try next time. Overall, great vibes, great food, and a spot I'd come back to.

Unfortunately, the experience went downhill almost immediately. When I asked to be seated outside, the hostess seemed visibly irritated. I then noticed that the outdoor tables were only being cleaned as customers arrived. The tables around me were covered in dust and debris, which I found pretty off-putting. If I were the manager, I would make sure every outdoor table is cleaned daily, regardless of whether someone is expected to sit there. The service didn't improve. My waitress took a long time to come over, looked irritated the entire time, and never once checked back to see how my meal was or whether I needed anything. The food was the biggest disappointment. My eggs arrived cold. The breakfast potatoes were cut into wildly different sizes, so some were cooked while others were undercooked or practically raw. The sausage tasted like low-quality, processed meat that had been cooked well in advance and simply reheated. It was one of the least enjoyable breakfasts I've had in a long time. The one bright spot was my cocktail, which was actually very good. Overall, I left extremely disappointed. Between the poor service and disappointing food, I won't be returning.
