Need to drop a 5 star for these guys. Spent one night in Fort Wayne, it was an absolute blizzard on a Sunday morning. Penny Drip was open at 8:30am (blasting incredible music btw), ready to go. I got a vanilla latte (for me) and a pistachio matcha (my partner). Latte was great and the matcha was one of the best matchas I've ever tasted. Syrup was mixed perfectly - subtle matcha taste - everything you love to see. Loved their vibe - will definitely visit again when we're back in FW. The service was also just alright. My interaction with the barista/bartender was brief and unfortunately a bit stale. She wasn't rude, just not particularly warm or memorable. You will find Penny Drip on the corner of Lafayette and Berry streets. Lafayette only goes south. Berry only goes west. Penny Drip has four parking spots off Lafayette. So you may have to go around the block to park. The building can be confusing. The first door us a barber shop. Enter at the patio - which would be great on a nice summer's evening. The inside is small. There are a limited number of two and four people tables. Mostly rail style bar stools. Inside is relaxing. So it isn't uncommon for someone to camp out with their book or PC fir a while. Penny Drip has a variety of simple food and drink items. We haven't tried the food. On this occasion we had coffee and a specialty drink. The coffee was served in a nice large ceramic cup. Great for a warm comforting beverage. The bubble gum rose iced drink was very creative. I had to find a spot to work remotely for a couple hours, and Penny Drip was the best option. Very walkable area, I had beautiful weather and they opened the garage windows. My girlfriend and I used to come here often for drinks, food, and to study. She loved it as a safe study place, which meant a lot. We always ordered when we came together. She is a student and doesn't have much money. One day she was studying by herself and hadn't bought anything that day. Very hipster place. There's a barber shop connected to it, which is a smart idea. They had some food and desserts, but most of the menu is just drinks. Banana Bread Latte - Espresso was smooth, but it's lacking in flavor. It had an aftertaste that kind of tasted like banana bread, but that might be a stretch. 2/5 stars. Miel Latte - Espresso was smooth as well, but this one I couldn't taste much honey or cinnamon. It's like buying a grocery store drink out of a carton. 1/5 stars. $7-8 is pricy for an artisan coffee drink, especially when United or Mocha Lounge is cheaper and they taste better. Very disappointing. Maybe the alcoholic drinks are better, but I don't drink. The couple next to us got desserts, but they didn't seem to enjoy it. Penny Drip is such a fun spot! Yesterday we went for a drink after a movie at The Cinema Center -- had a Cowboy Coffee, which was tasty and balanced. I love that you can always get a coffee or a cocktail and both are delicious, and $5 Old Fashioneds on Tuesdays make for a nice tradition! The menu is small, but complete. What a gem in Fort Wayne! We were in town all weekend, and I sure wish we had come here sooner. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious--homemade English muffins, fresh sausage, egg not over cooked, and a spicy sauce that brings it home. Came here on a Sunday morning with some friends after hearing good things. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They have an extensive menu with tons of different options. I don't like coffee but they have other options. I ordered a peppermint vanilla chai but it wasn't great. It tasted like warm milk with no peppermint. I stopped by Penny Drip last evening with my adult son. I had seen so many great photos on YELP, I just had to try it. The location has a small parking lot, but the Berry St side offered street access parking. The building is easy to access and appears to have two entrances. I entered through the first door, I'll warn you, the first entrance is also for Executive Barbershop. You'll immediately notice three barber chairs, which were full of clients when I arrived. Just past the barbershop, down the hall, is Penny Drip. It's a small hipster space with a bar area and table seating, as well. Once I was firmly in the Penny Drip area, I noticed there is another glass door entrance that I could have used. It is also where they offer seasonal outdoor seating. I felt almost aged out of the atmosphere. One thing that made me comfortable was the music choices. Very subtle and soft old school classics. James Brown was lowkey playing as I placed my order. Music is one of the great equalizers and it offered me some comfort in the space. My son and I tried the New York Chopped Cheese. It was the special this weekend only. The bun was soft and the meat and cheese had awesome flavor. It was worth the trip. The establishment offers other menu items for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. As for the staff, no one was rude or discourteous, nor were they dismissive, they just weren't engaging, at all. I think that added to my discomfort. Coffee is acidic and weak, baked goods are dry, gin and tonic was all tonic no gin, Irish coffee was bean water and gasoline... oh and the best part... the prices are ATROCIOUS. All the menu items felt to be too highly priced for what you get in terms of flavor and quantity. The food/drinks were not awful or anything, they were just not anything special. A bunch of friends decided they wanted to meet her. This was my second time and it was a much better experience! The staff made us feel welcomed and were genuinely kind! They also engaged in conversation with us as well! My frozen Irish coffee was strong and delicious! The curry chicken sandwich was wonderful (fun fact it is not made with eggs but does have mayonnaise in it). The sandwich had just enough curry but it was not overpowering! Reminded me of a sandwich I had in an English Tea House (called Coronation Chicken). It was a bit pricey at $15 but I knew that going in so it was not a shock. With a 20% tip it was a little over $30 I was hesitant coming back to PD because of my previous experience and after the way my previous review was addressed. They have a bar that leads into a barber shop that leads into a book nook area. In terms of a bar, it's one of my favorite bars in the city. In terms of a coffee shop, it falls about average. Located in downtown Fort Wayne, Penny Drip is the perfect place for remote working. There are two doors you can enter through. The glass door off the patio gets you directly inside the coffee shop. If you walk through the big wooden door, you'll end up in the barber shop and then have to walk through it to get to the coffee shop. While the coffee shop was a little bit busy during my Wednesday afternoon visit, there was still plenty of options for outdoor and indoor seating. A few regulars seemed to be taking up the space at the bar. Which, if you plan to work a while, is a good location since there are outlets for your devices. There is a larger table inside that's good for groups, and some smaller tables as well for those dining or working alone or with another person. Penny Drip has some neat seasonal drinks. I tried the blueberry blossom. It was just as beautiful as it was tasty. The coffee shop also offers cocktails, so it's a nice place to wind down after a day of work. The food is also excellent. I was a little bummed that they were out of sourdough and chicken during my most recent visit, so that took away the option to try the BLT and add chicken to a salad. However, I tried the casear salad with bacon and it was pretty amazing. It was affordable ($13) and a nice portion size. Penny Drip has a small parking lot. If that's taken, there is 2-hour street parking nearby. Parking enforcement is no joke in downtown Fort Wayne. I had 5 minutes left on my meter during my most recent visit and parking enforcement was waiting to write me a ticket. If you stop by on the weekends or after 5 pm, there are also some nearby parking lots that you can park in. read more

Amazing Place. Wish my town had a concept like this. Great for morning, noon and night. Our dream came true with a craft coffee cocktail bar! We've had sausage sandwiches, americanos, espresso martinis, hella good coffee drinks. Also they imported a bubble machine from Japan that makes him and sodas with a long tall ice cube in it. HOWEVER, it's ALWAYS puzzling asf to me when you are a fresh face in a place or it's LITERALLY 7AM OR you read others reviews on how "friendly" staff is but you walk in and besides yourself there's only 1 other person there yet the individual behind the counter doesn't look up, or bother to say, hello, one moment, I'll be right with you! Like if I wasn't hungry I would have really walked out solely based on the service I received today. But oh well, I got a good warm sandwich to start my day so ‍.
