Stopped in today for lunch -- about 3 people in front of us to order but after we sat down the place was full -- like not tables at all!! I ordered the pulle dpork tacos -- yum!! service was quick -- they clear the tables and keep the place clean - I appreciate the -- ordering was easy and friendly.

Buckhorn was a pretty decent spot. I came here for lunch one afternoon because I needed to pick things up at Walmart. Once I got there my food was ready, (online) and I was able to sit inside. The customer service at this location is hella good. Legit. They non stopped checked up on me and made sure I was good. I just got the sandwich and soup special with a drink. They have hella sauces as well and I like sauces. Next time I'm in the area I will get something different.

Awesome California BBQ! Great sauce options. Much better taste, meat quality, meat cut, quantity and better value than Lucilles BBQ! Full bar available. Tri-Tip Buck 6 oz had plenty of meat on a nice crunchy long mild garlic roll. Meat quality and cut was excellent and much better than Lucilles! If you want great BBQ, come here or Buckhorn Folsom, dont be disappointed with Lucilles unfortunate consistent lack of quality and reduced value.

Came with the mister for lunch on a Friday & there was a good amount of people. We waited for a moment to be helped by a friendly staffer who apologized for the wait. We ordered at the counter, got a number, & then picked a spot to sit. It is a big, airy, bright space from all the windows & natural light. It was clean & well-maintained. Seating options are plentiful at the bar, high tops, tables, booths, & outdoor shaded patio. The music was loud alternative. Three TVs had sports on. Fountain drinks & sauces are self serve. However, I didn't see additional napkins available & they didn't offer wet wipes like I remember at another location I've visited. There are hand sanitizer wall dispensers. Our food was brought to the table quickly by a friendly server, along with utensils & napkins. Our order-- -Tri Tip Buck (6 oz, no onions) Combo with Fries The meat was tender & smoky, the bread buttery, & the jus mildly flavored. The fries were great--crispy & potato-y. They were a perfect vehicle for dipping in the tasty sauces we picked. The fries were a big portion that we were able to share. -Mushroom Swiss Big Beef Sandwich The beef was juicy & tender, but I couldn't taste any smokiness like described. The bun was soft. The onions were cooked nicely with a textural bite & had a subtle herb flavor. I liked the mushroom component. The sauce was good. However, nothing stood out because it was all so mildly flavored. I definitely needed some added barbecue sauce. We enjoyed a hearty meal here & had a good lunch experience.

The food here is so delicious. Our favorite time to come is for happy hour. Great deals. The service is quick. The restaurant is clean and enjoyable. I have been many times and it never disappoints. Kid friendly too!!

This place was packed-- barely any seating inside so my boyfriend decided to sit outside and the staff was nice enough to turn the heaters on for us. It was nice being alone outside so we could demolish some ribs with no shame. Our food came in quickly soon after we found our seats. The ribs were thick and tender with some good BBQ flavor. My tri-tip was not very tender and I found myself chewing for a while... the sides were great (though I found some onion skin in my rings).

About as mediocre as I expected. My fault for spending money here. If you're looking for good bbq- this is not the place, customer service was fine, ambiance is annoyingly modern but it's 2026 that's whatever. My main problem is the food was so lack luster that I opened up yelp and am writing a review. No soul, offensively small portions for a $25 plate, raisins in the coleslaw, in a word the whole experience was... boring. Side note- a BBQ place with no brisket is insane to me but I tried to look past that red flag in hopes there'd be something that would make me be a fan since I'm local to this establishment. 100% will not be coming back, if you want a boring, run of the mill, lifeless corporate bbq place then Buckhorn BBQ + Grill is the place for you. Edit* also, the sauces are trash, Cali gold is just dressed up mustard and same for their house sauce.

2 kids picking dinner...between buckhorn bbq and in-n-out across the street...some back and forth, but ended up at buckhorn...a line to the counter to order...menu above the wall...at the counter and placing orders...was difficult finding stuff for the kids...staff quickly taking out a kids menu...they should post it above with the regular menu...cancelling my order and starting from scratch...hamburger slider with tater tots $9...another hamburger with sweet potato fries $9...full roadhouse salad $12.40...order of mini churros $10 for dessert...taking number stand to self-seating tables....one of the restaurant having self-serve fountain drink machines...quite the variety of drinks available...a sauce bar next to the fountains with quite a variety of sauces...busy evening and food coming out slowly and delivered to the table...kids loved the burgers, tater tots and sweet potato fries...finished clean... the roadhouse salad was good, but little overdressed and a mountain of fried onion strings...probably ask for the dressing on the side...fried onions is probably not the healthiest topping for a salad....still good overall...churros came out last and definitely fresh and piping hot...so good...about $50 for a full salad and 2 kids burger meals...

I've reviewed here before, but I thought I'd give a quick update... I took my mom out for a quick light dinner and we decided to come here. It's rapidly becoming one of my "go to" spots. It's conveniently located for me, has plenty of options of food I like. The more I come here, the more I notice little things that tell me the place is well managed. It's well staffed... the staff are friendly, helpful and respectful. They seem happy... which, honestly, stands out against some other restaurants these days. They all seem to be pulling their weight and looking out for things they can do to improve the overall situation... the customer experience... keeping the place clean, etc. Something as simple as picking up a napkin off the floor - I can think of numerous other places I've been where I've watched staff walk past something on the floor numerous times. I also happened to see goals listed on a whiteboard in a back room when someone came through a door - again, a nod to management, who obviously discusses these things with the whole staff and it shows... they all work as a team. Kudos.

Came in for lunch. It was our first time there but had to try it since it smelled so good. We signed up for the rewards. It is free and on our next visit we get a free order of burnt ends. We ordered and ate there. It was on the weekend and lunch rush so it was a bit busy and a little hard to get a table since you seat yourself. They do have a little bar area to sit and outside seating as well. Everyone was very pleasant and nice. You get your own drinks and condiments and wait for them to bring your food. The food came out and was good and had good flavor and good portions. Definitely will come again.

I'm trying to find a way to describe how disappointing this BBQ sauce is compared to what they used to offer. But frankly it's insulting.

It is rather tiny on the inside with only three tables of two. So if you are wanting to sit and eat, you need to be a small party, or take your food with you to go. Thankfully there was plenty of room when we arrived for our party of three. Their decor is cute with plenty o goose to view, as well as their baked goods. Since it was our maiden voyage here we did ask the nice gal who was at the register for a couple of recommendations which we took. The hubster tried the Ham and Peach Grilled Cheese, the MIL did the Pick Two which included a half Rosemary Chicken Sandwich and the Strawberry Poppyseed salad, I also got the Pick Two and chose half Citrus Club Sandwich and the Street Corn Cesar salad. Everything was made fresh to order and was incredibly tasty! The hubster and I also shared a Cherry Limeade Summer Sipper which was divine. We decided we could not leave with out taking a few goodies with us for later. So we bought a Lemon Bar, a Blackberry Cheesecake Bar, and a Chocolate Sea Salt Shortbread. We don't venture to Rocklin on a regular basis, but when we do, it's nice to know where to go and to support a small business like this. Give them a try. You will be impressed too!

Clean storefront with plenty of tables and homey Americana decor. My initial visit I ordered from their "vintage" menu. I got Erik's B.L.A.S.T. with bacon, Arcadian lettuce, avocado, clover sprouts, Secret Goo and tomato on toasted sourdough. They accidentally forgot the clover sprouts on my order. I love sprouts, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized they were missing. However the sandwich was great so it didn't ruin the meal. I loved their special tuna sandwich, called the Ocean Avenue, which was a delicious concoction. Made with tuna salad, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, clover sprouts, and sweet hot mustard on swirl rye bread. The ingredients were all fresh & tasty. Another winner I just consumed was the Ciao Down, made with the softest Dutch Crunch I've ever eaten. I appreciated having the roof of my mouth intact! The combination of ingredients (salami, turkey, Swiss, tomato, onions, clover sprouts, basil pesto) gave me salty, vinegary, sour, and savory, with just a mild spicy kick from the hot cherry peppers. Whatever you do, don't skip the carrot cake! It is the best carrot cake I've ever had. I actually wondered if they outsourced it, but it turns out it's a proprietary family recipe. Made with carrots, pineapples, cream cheese frosting, and walnuts. It tastes homemade and perfectly balanced.
