Over the past 4-5 years Ive got good service from the staff at Pensacola Pools. They've been very helpful with solutions when I was DIYing my pump replacement and whenever the water chemestry was off. Buyer Beware!!! Totally unhappy & pissed off with Pensacola Pools!!! Spent a lot of money finding and repairing all the leaks on a Hot Springs Tub. They quoted me about $3K in the spring of 2022, the repair work took over a year to complete and final invoice came in well above what was quoted!, close to $1,300 over what they quoted me. The invoice they gave me was extremely vague, no mention of what they did, nor any mention of warranting their work! All I ever wanted was the tub to be leak free since it was moved to my home in early spring of 2022. You would have thought that their tech would have filled and completely tested the tub to insure that all the leaks were found and repaired, but NO. I had to find out for myself when I filled the tub and started it up for the first time after the repairs done by Max, that there are still leaks. Amanda in the service dept. gave me the same song and dance that she gives others; " How can we prove the tech didn't do the job, since they no longer work for the company! She said the owner of the company will need to review and get back tome. From what others have written it looks like I will be left out in the cold. Thousands of dollars later, I'm right back where I started; a hot tub that leaks!!! I have called Pensacola Pools several times, and all I hear from Amanda is that the owner of the company will have to call me back. BUYER BEWARE! THIS HAS BECOME A SCAM POOL COMPANY! Sound harsh? NO! It's 100% SPOT ON! Owner: Larry Robin! Florida does NOT investigate companies that falsify water tests, trying to get you to buy uneccessary chemicals! For 14 years I maintained my (designed) pool (50'x25'x10' deep 44,000 gal salt water pool) with crystal clear water. March 2022 I had them test & recommend chems for my pool, as I was having surgery with an expected 30 day recovery, so I wanted to get my pool right before surgery. I know about chemical reactions in pools. What I DIDN'T KNOW is that if your STABILIZER is high - outside the recommended range, IT WILL KILL YOUR CHLORENE - period. Even SHOCK won't work. Pensacola Pools prescribed, INTENTIONALLY, double the amount of chlorene stabilizer I needed, not once, (I wouldn't have figured it out.... but TWICE, ... allowing me to "catch them in the act". 29 March 2022 they prescribed 21# of stabilizer, when a maximum of 10# was needed. Salt chlorene generators do not produce stabilizer, so from time to time you have to add chlorene stabilizer. I took their advice, put in 20# and had HIP REPLACEMENT SURGERY. 3 days later my pool was GREEN, first time in 14 years! Over the following month, while using a dipstick daily showing showing everything was within normal limits (WNL) - What can be bad about normal-high stabilizer? Over the next month, 3 days after having a hip replacement I needed to shock the pool & brush the "green" down to the deep end DAILY, despite the 105 degree heat. I spent over $500 in chemicals - shock & clarifier, and salt attempting to get rid of the green algae. SHOCK should have taken care of it in 1-2 treatments, but no results. Thinking my Polaris was not working efficiently (after all, the chemicals were "correct" according to Pensacola Pools & my daily dipsticks) I rebuilt the Polaris with a rebuild kit (@$200). No joy. Replaced the cleaner hose swivels ($20) - no joy. Replaced the wall blow-out valve & backup valve (from Pensacola Pools) - no joy. Thinking the only thing left was maybe the pump wasn't sending enough water to the cleaner, I replaced the PB-4 booster pump ($450 + $150 to install) and still no joy. Finally I replaced the 4 paper filter cartridges thinking they may be not filtering (old) the algae, but again no joy. so now we are at 3 weeks in. 5 May 2022 the new booster pump was installed, and I took the water to be tested at 2 different pool companies - Pensacola Pools & Pinch-a-Penny Pools. Stabilizer @ 40-46 PPM (showing low due to the 3 weeks time) - pool still green. called to add 10-11#; added 8#. Had to divert my attention to a job, shocked pool 13 May. Still green. May 25-26 we had 8" of rain! (Measured with my rain gauge). Pool stil green, so I cleaned the filter cartridges on the 28th. 29 May 2022 I had the water retested due to the previous rain. Up to this point. Pinch-a-Penny showed stabilizer @ 40 PPM (add 10# stabilizer); Pensacola Pools... AGAIN measured stabillizer at 41 PPM recommending 21# AGAIN! I added 20# and got CHLORENE LOCKOUT once again. Shocked the pool, cleaned the filters again. 1 June 2022 replaced the pool cleaner filters with (4x) NEW FILTERS ($200) as I thought they weren't working. 2 June 2022, perplexed, I had the water tested again. Pinch-a-Penny measured stabilizer @ 100 PPM, Pensacola Pools measured it @ 106 PPM. Both said I had to dump 2-3 feet of water out of the pool & fill it back up with tap water to dilute the stabilizer. NOW it became apparent what had happened. Pensacola Pools DELIBERATELY prescribed double the stabilizer TO GET ME TO BUY CHEMICALS I didn't need in the first place! (You'll see why below). 3 June 2022 - I dumped 15,000 gallons of water & replaced with tap water. 4 June 2022 - Shocked & added clarifier - 7 June 2022 - pool was clearing up, added 6 bags of salt; pool is crystal clear again, as usuial. Has stayed that way through present day. KNOW THIS: All... I mean ALL ... Pensacola Pools previous tests were done using the "eyeball" method (non-computerized) with the recommended chemicals figured from a chart in a book. Often, they would not put the date and name of the person testing the water on the test results! No accountability, plausable deniability. Thats EXACTLY what happened. When I spoke to the "Store Manager", Ms. Debbie Welsh, she initially blew me off to her floor staff saying, "I'll put you in the pile (of to-do's) and get to you when I get things done". This was unacceptable, so I met her in person. Well, she immediately tried to make excuses, using chemical excuse probabilities which were immediately debunked. Then she tried to insist they ALWAYS use the computer to test chems - I have the handwritten tests proving that a lie. She tried to make issue of me not buying my chems there. Debunked again. ADMITTED to overprescribing stabilizer. Said they would give $124 in "Store Credit". BS! Lost $1,400 because of them. read more

Had to order a replacement hot tub cover for our Hot Springs hot tub through this company. Terrible customer service! It took over 13 weeks to be delivered when it was supposed to take 4-6. They never once called to update us on the status of the delayed order; we had to repeatedly call them and then depending who you spoke to at the store, they had no idea what we were talking about. When it finally got delivered 7+ weeks late, we asked to speak with a manager about refunding part of the $125 shipping fee and after two messages not returned, we gave up. We will find a different Hot Springs distributor instead of working with them again. read more

Bought a $7k hot tub from Pensacola Pools in Crestview. Great service from Bill. Unfortunately Bill retired and now doing business with a bunch of snowflakes in Crestview and a bunch of knuckle heads in Pensacola. Pump went out five weeks ago, still under warranty. Took two weeks to order the new pump and schedule a tech to install. Finally got it installed and it leaks almost two inches of water a day. No tech available for three weeks. Airhead who answers the phone told me to try to tighten up any nuts or screws.....if I do so, I would violate the warranty. Bottom line: don't do business with Pensacola Pools. Made an appointment a few weeks ago for a technician to come out to repair my pool pump and get some estimates on less urgent needs related to the pool, it's broken heater, new liner, etc. I specifically chose today's date as I had just closed on the home 2 days ago and have to leave town in 4 days. I'm supposed to hear from the tech this morning and hadn't so at 9:10 am I call to find out when I should be hearing from them? Answer: we were just about to call you because we have to cancel your appointment because of the rain. Ok then "will they be coming tomorrow?", answer "sorry but no. We don't have any appointments until next week". I reply/ remind that I made this appointment weeks ago because I needed this done THIS WEEK including why. I'm told all the techs tomorrow are scheduled in areas outside Pensacola. Was not given any info for Friday possibilities. Amanda in service was very nice but the companies policy of not making rain delayed appointments a priority is disappointing to say the least. Basically I was told there's no options for rescheduling my appt for while I'm in town. Nothing like planning ahead only to be "so sorry, we can't help you". So, this company stood to make thousands of dollars and now I'm just moving on. I have to travel a ton for work and need a decent degree of reliability. Taking my business elsewhere. Obviously I cannot rate them on actual services performed but anyone in my situation take note. I certainly wouldn't want anyone working when it's lightening out but I'm baffled by why they cancel an entire day because of rain. Walked in hoping to buy a hot tub. No one said hi - they didn't even acknowledge our existence. The business manager sat behind his desk (behind a glass enclosure) and never looked up. I realize some of the staff were busy, but they never said a word to us. They were having some sort of event with food and we couldn't get near the table because two of the employees were standing there snacking, making sandwiches and chatting about their lives. I walked around asked my partner questions in a louder voice (hoping someone we see that we were potential customers) and nothing. So we left. Pensacola Pools installed a pool for us earlier this year and the install process went smoothly with some delays related to their volume of business. The concrete around the pool had issues with the finish and Pensacola Pools made it right by having the concrete refinished with a textured coating. I would use them to install a pool for me if I have the need in the future. read more

We are not very happy with pensacola pools. The work never got done till we finished it. The cement was all wrong and now we have to pay someone to come out and fix it. Some of the workers had very bad months on them. They knew we were going to enclose the pool and needed the cement to be square so they did it round. Our phone calls go unanswered. We will be taking the further because we have had no results with this company. As of right now would not sent anyone to them for there pools. read more

Tom at your Gulf Breeze location has caused you to lose a long Time customer. I've had many weeks with no service. Tom lied about trying to contact us for a whole month, then when I questioned if he was calling the right number or exaggerating how many times he tried to call, he hung up on me. I will tell as many people as I possibly can how horrible the service is from your company. Poor service, atrocious problem resolution and dishonest practices. I received no service in the month of February, yet was billed regularly. This was not the first time I've paid my monthly bill to have no service at all. read more

I would not recommend anyone to do business with this company. We used them for pool service for a few years with no issues. Eventually, we cancelled our service and went with a different pool technician. The pay structure was to pay in advance, so we were owed a refund. The service department, which had always been very professional and easy to work with, acknowledged that we were owed $240 and that payment would be forthcoming. However, payment never came; so we followed up with the service department and were told that the owner declined to give us our refund. I think this is because the owner was upset that we stopped using his service and went with another company. Anyway, after two professionally worded emails to the owner, Mr. Robbins, I finally received a one-line, unprofessional reply that he welcomed the challenge of legal action, indicating he had no intent of returning the money his company owed me. At no point did ANYONE at Pensacola pools question the fact that they owe me money. This is a given and I have email evidence of such. The fact that a business owner could act like this is crazy to me. It is childish and no better than a common thief. read more

I had my pool put in by Pensacola pools approximately 2.5 yrs ago. The concrete began to sink approximately six months after the construction and the brick coping began to fall off. I contacted Mike Shock and ask him to stop by and take a look at the pool and I got no response. I also tried to contact the owner during the construction process and I was told that he did not want to speak with me. I am now in the process of removing most of the concrete around the pool and replacing the coping. I would not recommend Pensacola pools to anyone! read more

I'm not sure what has happened to this company, we have dealt with them for 40 plus years. Always had decent quality service. We received a new pool liner in June of 2019. It was obvious on that day that only one of the two men who was installing the liner, was doing it right. The very next day before the pool finished filling up we saw that it was pulling away from the side on the same side that the guy mentioned above was working on. We took pictures and called them. Several weeks later someone showed up to fix that. Now I don't know anything about installing a pool liner but would think that this repair would not be done correctly with the pool being full of water. Now the liner has drastically pulled away from the same side almost all the way down to the other end and I have multiple wrinkles in the liner in the deep end. Called them and ask for someone to please come and repair this and was told "Oh we don't do that". I reminded her that they just sold me this liner and installed it in June of 2019 AND how long that I have been a customer and her reply was "Oh we have a lot of customers who has been with us for a long time. SERIOUSLY?? We will be looking for someone else to do business with. Does anyone have any suggestions? read more

Pensacola Pools is a locally-owned company with locations throughout Northwest Florida and Southern Alabama. What I like most about this place is that even through the rise of labor/fuel costs, they have been able to offer free pool water testing to their customers. Their only request is that you purchase your pool chemicals from them in exchange. Their prices are very reasonable, and their staff is very knowledgeable and well-organized. read more

I hired them to help me with repairs after I ended service with another Pool company that was not giving me the customer service I expected.They came out and replaced a pool pump, no problems. They asked for payment on the spot, I gave it to them. They were friendly and easy going. Their prices are reasonable and they are willing to help. BUYER BEWARE. We bought an above ground from this company. The purchase and install was fine. A few months after the install there were roots and grass coming thru the liner of the pool. We contacted them an were told they would take care of it and someone would be in contact. Didn't hear anything for two weeks then called again. I was told to send an email explaining the situation. Never received a reply. I called and sent several more emails. I went to the store and was told the person I needed to speak to was off but they would have them call me. Nothing. If you're looking for a company with post sale/install customer service, this IS NOT the company. They'll be happy to take your money but won't back up there product. read more

Inquired about a new liner last year. The P'Cola pool guy came as promised. I chose this company solely on price which I believe was a mistake. During the install (I wasn't home, the wife was) they dug up my yard, a trench about 12 inches wide and 10 feet long. Had I not called to inquire about the process I would've had a drain line that I was charged for but never asked for. The liner went in without a glitch and have been happy until now. I noticed a seal around my stairs that was peeling off. I took a video and went to the shop. I showed the KID at the counter, he said Allen would call me. This was 7 days ago with no return call yet. I've called 3 times, and my wife called twice. My wife called again today and was told they are in for only a few minutes every morning at 7:30. So after repeated calls..I'm told I have to now call at a specific time. Very unprofessional and lack of after the sale customer service. I went to Pensacola Pools to purchase a spa with cash in hand. When I arrived there were 3 or 4 children jumping on all the spas from one to another and the screaming was ear piercing. I mentioned it to the person talking to me and he didn't seem to care. It reached the point that I couldn't even talk to the sales person the screaming was that loud. The service from Pensacola Pools is absolutely dismal. We bought a $8K hot tub and it has been a maintenance head ache. But worse than the reliatbity of the spa has the dismal support from Pensacola Pool. It takes at least 2 weeks from the time you have an issue to the time they come out to do the warranty repair. If they need to get parts, they have to order them and then it takes AT LEAST another two weeks to get the parts. They only will send in the order for parts when they have a large order because they don't want to pay for shipping. After they get the parts in house - it is another two weeks before hey make it back out to do the repair. If they need additional parts - the cycle starts all over again. WE WOULD NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE AGAIN. We recommend you do not either. Go somewhere else. We wish we had never supported this local business. We could have gotten a better deal from Sam's or Amazon. And the after market service would have been much better. read more

Started our pool consultation in 1/2015 Mike was courteous & helpful projected completion date was 6 to 8 weeks depending on weather. We were delighted that they are able to handle all aspects of pool install ( permits, slides, fountains, decking, electrical,fencing, covers etc.) We were assured by Mike that they could deliver on these items. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN! Here it is 8/2015 our pool is installed & yes it is beautiful BUT we have no slide, no fountain, no custom ramp, all the items we agreed upon in our initial estimate Mike did not complete. We put in a custom 30x40 inground pool that we paid cash for, so it wasn't like they were waiting on financing or anything. The calls started with delays after they received 1/2 down payment. Excuse after excuse, delays, avoidance of phone calls & an extreme lack of professionalism. Point blank lied about being able to install our custom slide & waterfall some excuse that the owner wouldn't let them do it. We had a big hole in the ground forever. Finally called the manager & she assured us again that they would deliver on slide & fountain install & that she would speak with Mike about his lack of service & the problems we are having. It did absolutely no good. We ended up having to get a refund for,slide & fountain. Then they proceeded to charge exorbitant prices for the concrete decking. We finally cleared the permit. We will have a private contractor install the fountain, slide, fencing, & cover. This company makes promises they never intend to deliver on just to get the bulk of their money & then they don't follow through blaming each other saying they just can't do it.
