A friend and I were walking around the area from a street market just up the road on mid Saturday. She was familiar with the shop, but I was not. We decided to stop in. Wow, lots of inventory. I like that they had a little blurb on each spice. And info on what the spice can be used for and with. Kind of like each item at Trader Joe's, IYKYK. Spices - I decided to buy the Ceylon Cinnamon, regular price $7.29, on sale for $1.00! (How could I pass that up) Then I got Mexican Vanilla Extract, regular price $16.59, for free since I had purchased an item! Then they provided a beautiful "Hope is Everything" pin, regular price $9.95, also for free! Wow, I was shocked and blessed for sure! Hopefully, dear Yelp reader, you can also get a great deal on your next visit! Tip - one kind shopper shared with us they have good coupons for every weekend if you sign up for their emails.

After a trip to a local market in the heights , we decided to check out this local spice market that has been around for decades. The second you walk in , you can smell the scent of beautiful spices from around the world. We couldn't resist picking up some spices from France garlic salt , dried onions and more. If you love to cook this place is for you. Definitely worth the drive and will be back again . Parking: plentiful Customer service: Excellent Return: likely

Seriously awesome! This is the place to go for top quality spices at rock bottom prices! A foodie friend recommended this place to me and I'm so glad to have shopped there. There are loads of spices from the traditional to "fancy" varieties like Vietnamese cinnamon. What I really liked is the fact that most products are offered in 3-4 sizes to meet your needs. An extra special treat was the 2 bottles of seasoning I was given during checkout for signing up on the email mailing list. Talk about a good way to keep repeat customers...thanks! I'll be back very soon.

I LOVE PENZEY'S! I happily give them my money! Their spices are amazing!!!! Be aware any negative review is done by someone whining about how they're upset he doesn't believe in what they do. That's 'Merica for ya. They probably really enjoy the spices but are so blinded by their own close mindedness they can't enjoy the product of passion. To the people who are mad because their political views don't match, I don't care, we don't care, and Bill surely doesn't! He knows and loves his customers and welcomes anyone who has a problem with his views to shop somewhere else. I love that. He doesn't hide behind a facade or pretend to be someone else for money. He stands for and by what he believes in. I LOVE him. The employees are the absolute sweetest and most helpful and attentive employees. You definitely don't need to have on a "designer outfit" for them to acknowledge and service you. Every time I go in I feel at home. My dream home where I magically have every spice I'll ever need. There are always promotions you get via email where he's literally giving away free spices! You receive a newsletter weekly via email updating you of the current deal. I leave home with $5-$35 of free spices every single trip. I cook with nothing but Penzey's and Goya. His seasonings are amazing and my collection is growing and growing. My favs: California seasoned pepper, Fox point, sandwich sprinkle, Persian herbs, Arizona dreaming, shalKrakow nights, the Now curry, sunny Paris and the roasted garlic and cayenne are super potent. They have 2-3 different jar sizes and 1/2 bag and full bag options as well. The spices are "expensive" (not really) because they are unique blends and you don't need a lot like you would less potent or quality brands. Of you're going to complain, stick with your McCormick.

The manager I believed welcomed me BACK. I said "Oh thank you", but in my head I was thinking this was my first time back in months, lol. I must have a twin, lol. Ok, back to the review. The staff was very friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. There's also plenty of seating in a quaint, charming little market setting, making it a great spot to sit, relax, and enjoy your drink. Definitely a hidden gem--I'll be back to try more flavors! 5 stars!

Houston Flea Market is the definition of "you get what you pay for." It's overcrowded, disorganized, and feels like a maze of the same vendors selling the same cheap imported products over and over. The aisles can be dirty, parking is chaotic, and customer service varies wildly depending on who you're dealing with. Prices aren't always the bargain you'd expect either--many sellers charge close to retail unless you're willing to haggle. The food is one of the better parts, but it isn't enough to make up for the overall experience. If you're hoping to find unique antiques or hidden treasures, you'll probably leave disappointed after digging through piles of low-quality merchandise. Unless you specifically enjoy the flea market atmosphere or know exactly what you're looking for, there are much better ways to spend your time.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

The desserts here are fun, unique, and very different from what you find at most places. My only…read morecomplaint is the lack of labeling for many of the products. For example, with the Turkish delights and ice cream selections, only a few items are labeled. For most of them, you have to guess the flavor or ingredients. When I asked questions, there was a language barrier, and the staff member behind the counter was unable to clearly explain what the items were in English. This can be especially frustrating for customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In the U.S., I would expect all flavors and ingredients to be clearly labeled so customers can make informed choices. Even if staff members are not fluent in English, having accurate labels for flavors and ingredients would greatly improve the customer experience. The desserts themselves are excellent, but better product labeling would make the experience much more enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

For vinegars they have everything from strawberry rhubarb & watermelon (they should just call it jolly rancher!) to hazelnut (that tastes more like coffee). There are also amazing sauces, butters, mayo and so much more. Try the hazelnut butter. I had to stop myself from eating the whole jar in one sitting. It's better than Nutella or any other hazelnut butter you've had (I promise!). The staff are so helpful. They don't just want to sell you, they honestly want to never be bored of the flavors. They will give you a couple awesome flavors that you can come back and refill with other favors. My husband and I have been coming here once a month (or more often) for the latter half of this year and I've truly never loved having daily salads more with all the different flavors and variations this place offers.
