I was in desperate need of getting my nails done and so I decided to go to a place that I had never been before. When I walked in I told them I needed a gel fill, and they told me to pick what color I wanted. When I sat down I told the lady that I probably needed to take the old acrylic off and get a full set of nails. She looked a little annoyed, but went and got a bowl of acetone for me to soak my nails in. She then got this instrument that she tried to slide in between my nail and the acrylic to get it off. I told her I didn't want her prying my nails off, and that I would just like to soak them off. Finally she started to put the acrylic on and I immediately asked her if she was just doing my tips with the color, and the rest of the nail just clear acrylic. She said I told her I wanted Shellac. I've never had shellac and I didn't ask for it. She then started to do the tips, and it was pretty obvious she hadn't done the gels before. It was turning out to be the worse experience I had ever had. Finally another lady came over and started to file my nails. The 2 women started arguing in Vietnamese, and I was pretty sure they weren't saying very nice things about me. Lina who had taken over said she might have to redo a little of the color on the tip because the other lady didn't do a good job. Ok, so it wasn't just me!! It was now 12:30 pm and this whole thing had started at 10:30am. Finally I said for them to get some more acetone and to take this set off and I was going to leave and find somewhere else to go. Lina took the nails off for a second time and now it's going on 1:15pm. I finally agreed for her to just redo the whole set which she did and she did a good job. This whole ordeal ended at 2:10pm. Yep.....3 hours and 40 minutes for a gel fill!! Not happy at all. I asked her how much I owed and Lina said that the original cost was $50 but she gave me a 20% discount for my troubles. I still had to pay $40.00??? This goes to show you that it really wasn't about making me happy, it was about making the money.
The other thing I have to mention is the First Lady didn't say 1 word to me until this... After soaking my hands in the acetone, filing, soaking, filing, soaking she took the bowl of acetone that my hands had been in for some time, and dumped it back in the bottle to be reused again. I asked her if that is what she just did and she said she didn't. She then says to me "are you working today?" The only words spoken to me the whole time she was doing my nails, and I'm pretty sure it was only because I caught her doing something that could probably get them fined if the state knew they were doing unsanitary things. Very unsanitary, and it makes me wonder if they sanitize their instruments between customers. I'm gonna go with "no!!!" read more
