The men working here are too lazy to do their job. Just came into get my tires inflated and he already had an attitude doing so. My tire pressure sensor was on and he said "all good" i knew he didn't inflate any of my tires. So I took matters into my own hands and inflated them myself and the sensor turned off. Don't come to this location. They need to find better workers who actually love what they do. read more

This is an honest review. 1. The employees at the front desk seem to provide good customer service, but I will never go back to Pep Boys to have my vehicles serviced. I asked for help on a part for my truck, the front desk said they would order the part, but nothing was ever done or mentioned about the part my truck needed. 2. I was missing parts on my truck and my window crank was not placed back correctly. 3. I had them replace my taillights and only 2 or 3 work, plus my right light was not placed on correctly. I know I overpaid for the work and if the work is done right, I don't mind but when you know they did a half ass job just to get you out the door, it's pretty infuriating. I want to Warn ABQ residents do not take your car there. Your money and time are much better spent at a place that values its customers. read more

Irresponsible and showing signs of fraud. They will try to exaggerate your car's issues to get as much money from you as possible. When their mistakes are pointed out, they will do a sloppy job just to finish, without hesitation to damage your car. I don't usually like to give bad reviews but honestly I was really upset with the service here I went for a diagnostic and I spoke to a really rude manager there when I had to take my car back , they did end up fixing the problem but what really made me upset once I got my car back some parts were misplaced and not where their suppose to be . One part of it was broken and has loose parts of my hood where I believe they were doin the diagnostic I will not try to contact the pep boys with this issue I will just simply not rely on this location ever again!. 07/30/2023 read more

Really price gouging . A battery and alternator costing almost $1200..... all because I didn't have some of the tools.

Showed up for a 2PM oil change and a heavyset woman behind the counter asked if I dropping it off and I said no, to which she replied "well you're gonna be here a few hours." I asked why they took oil change appointments if they couldn't do the job at the alotted time slot and she said "I dunno" with a smirk. I asked for my keys back and left. Shady work + Horrible customer service = NO brainer. I was very disappointed to learn of the experience my son received when he took his truck to have minor issues fixed. They not only managed to NOT fix the issue, they managed to make matters worse and charge him a ridiculous amount for it. When my son called to confront them and ask of their assistance they were rude and threatening over the phone. He then went in and the same rude guy continued the irate behavior. They wouldn't even give him the # to corporate office to report the unprofessional demeanor and scammy work. I DO NOT recommend this location. I was told I needed many things for my SUV. It seemed strange. I am not an idiot when it comes to cars. They said my tire ware was due to bad shocks, struts and alignment. Cost $2000 plus. I went to my regular trusted shop, the shop doesn't have alignment machines, he lifted the vehicle and showed me. I have good shocks and good struts. All I need is an alignment. I have shopped at this pep boys 2x now, the first for a battery for my car and this time for a starter. Both times I was heated at the door and helped out immediately. The customer service is phenomenal and they spend time not only helping me with what I came in for, but go further by making sure what I am asking for is the best deal that will work for my vehicle. read more

The only good thing I have to say about this brake shop is that they are open on a Sunday. Otherwise, read its reviews to anticipate the kind of service you'll get. Its going to be impossible to get just basic brake service, in fact, I was told 'no, I'm not going to do that' by David. He insisted I get the upgraded service package, and refused to give the basic. I was shocked to hear the negative things he had to say about each of the customers once they walked out the door. I can't imagine the things said about me once I walked out. It doesn't stop there, get ready to talk about sports. The same guy helping me had his phone on the desk, watching football games, and completely ignoring customers. The extremely slow service this place provided was filled with talk about sports, and no business. I was criticized for not have a 'sports team'. If you don't spend a couple hundred dollars on unnecessary service, than you'll be talked down on. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE TO ANYONE I KNOW. read more

Firstly the manager DAVID is the shadiest, most awful human being you can imagine; a liar, a thief that hides behind Christ - always peppers his conversations to customers mentioning he prays to God at work, works 7 days a week for the 'Lord', and always ends heated discussions with 'God bless you." DAVID is very confrontational, threatening - when I disagreed with his analysis of my car's issue and his price he threatened to hold my car hostage saying, "... It's not safe to drive, it's illegal to drive in this condition, I can't give it back to you." After several hours the 'repair' was 'done' - my symptoms not relieved after a $600 bill. A second opinion at a recommended and reputable mechanic reviewed that NO WORK had been done to my car. When I confronted DAVID with information days later he became very irate and threatened to physically throw me out of the store but not before he could look at my car again - ha! Not a chance! Realizing I had been duped, and facing probably Pep-Boy's finest district earner by pure ruthless scamming (DAVID has been at this location since it was Just Brakes) I left... I left angry, minus $600, but wiser. And as I did DAVID said, "God bless you!" in front of another customer in the waiting room. In closing, AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS. One of the worst experiences I have ever had with any service industry related company. After improperly fixing my wife's car and leaving her stranded the assistant manager was VERY unprofessional, spoke down to me, cussed several times, and in these very unique times decided to have most of the conversation with his face mask off. I had a bad experience with the store and manager on Montano and Coors. After having my vehicle serviced (2006 Daytona Dodge Charger) my engine light came on and my car was stalling. I went back to the shop and spoke to the manager. He didn't let me finish my story. He kept saying "that'll be $106 for diags". I told him it's stalling because there's no oil. He dragged a sitting customer into the conversation and when I talked to the customer also he told me not to talk to him and I needed to leave. He told me to sue him, but I wouldn't have a leg to stand on. He held the door open and told me to leave his store. He followed me out anyway and continued his rant. When I told him he was yelling at me in front of his customers and I didn't think that was very professional of him, he turned and noticed another customer outside and instead yelled at me to have a good day and God bless you! Had some work done on my wife's car and when we went to pick it up and pay for it. My wife asked the manger what was done and what was under warranty, he went off on a tirade about how buy he was and how he was under no obligation to explain the work order to her as he already had approval and that he was to busy. This went on for a bit and he threatened to cal the cops and hold onto our vehicle. Ultimately we paid for our vehicle, but well never go there again. read more

They lost my business before I even talked to anyone about the work my car needed due to a sexist comment. I'm a female and am sensitive to the fact that I am perceived as being uninformed about cars. Now, I'm no car repair expert nor do I want to be, otherwise I'd be working on my car myself, but I am a mechanical engineer and am well capable of understanding concepts related to my vehicle. And I know some things. Because Google. :-p Anyway, I needed my rear brakes done, so I made an appointment online and stopped in. When I got there the guy behind the counter was explaining to a lady the difference between partially synthetic and full synthetic oil. I thought it was kind of condescending the way he was describing it but she seemed ok with it, so whatever. I proceeded to wait patiently for about 5 more minutes, tuning out as I was checking my email. Next thing I know he looks up at me and says "hey, you're a female too, come over here and I'll explain this to you too". Whaaatttt?? I didn't mention earlier but there was also an older man sitting in the waiting area. So he singled me out b/c I'm female, to explain some concept to me that he presumed I didn't know, and that I would want to know, only b/c of me being female. I lost it. I told him it wasn't cool that he made a presumption about me not knowing stuff b/c I'm female. I told him that I had an appointment but that I was canceling it and walked out to go find a new shop. Uggg. These car shops need to realize they should treat everyone with the same amount of respect. If you want to explain something cool, explain it to everyone, including the old guy. Don't single out the females, that's why we hate having to get our cars serviced, and we're ~50% of the population! Be cool. read more

Put in new radiator. Had nothing but problems after. Put longer screws into new fan. Punctured radiator. Used wrong hose clamps. Had leaks in transmission line and radiator after service. Also, used broke clips to hold radiator. Never will go here again. Out 2,300$ after the "work" , the warranty ran out. Lasted 13 months. Place is a rip off. Absolutely a joke. read more

If I could give no stars it would be better. I went in yesterday on Black Friday after seeing their sell. I had looked online for the deal and clicked installment deal as well, it came out around $410 but when I went in this guy was VERY rude and disrespectful and told me the don't go with the online deals and it would be around $600. Not sure how you can charge more for something when online has a different price and you're supposed to be working for pep boys! He did not even know I had an appointment scheduled until I arrived and told me he had too many cars in his bays to get my car up on a lift. Beware of the hard upsell. I should have known better. Went in for basic $80 brake special for front and back ($160 total) and then was lead out to go over what "they found". Long story short they wanted to turn the $160 into $850 worth of worth. I said no, but he made it seem like my car was gonna fall apart if I didn't accept (2008 Honda Accord). Very pushy. I finally told him just do the basic brake service I came in for, and he finally accepted but seemed a little perturbed. They won't even tell you what brand of pads they use, only that they are "good as new OEM". I will never go back here. read more

This place is a joke. They wanted me to pay "a deal of $500," for brakes for my 2005 Pontiac Sunfire when I really just wanted the basic $99 coupon deal. I explained to them that my car was an old simple 2 door that didn't need all kinds of difficult attention for brakes. The atmosphere was shady from the moment I walked in. They try to put on a "Faithful Christian Church God loving," act so you feel that they can be trusted. Will not go here again. There was also another customer in there at the same time who wasted his entire day there because Just Breaks could not find the right breaks for his truck. My mom was parked in between parking lots, Pep Boys and Auto Zone, she had to put power steering fluid in her truck. She had the hood open and was standing on the tire when a employee at pep boys approached her. Instead of offering to help, he told her that if she bought that fluid from auto zone she had to go park in their parking space to put that fluid in her truck and if she dropped any, she would have to clean it up. I'm sorry but as a person in customer service and as a decent human being, you should be offering a 50+ woman help rather than being concerned about where they shopped from. ZERO STARS. Ditto everyone else's horrendous experience with PEP BOYS AT COORS AND MONTANO. I was towed there I n July for a battery and they told me I needed $1000+ dollars worth of work. Incorrect. Came back in 3 months because the battery drained. They "did me a favor " and replaced it and let me know I should be grateful for this gift. Then the manager, such as he was, told me the alternator had drained the battery and I needed a new alternator for $500+ dollars. By the time I left to go to my own mechanic the cost had come down to $320. Really? He wouldn't give me the prorated battery warranty because of the alternator and told me he wouldn't give me any warranty until I came back with proof that the alternator had been replaced. He warned me that the car would probably die on the way if I didn't take it immediately because my alternator would drain my battery. Did I mention he was unbelievably rude and condescending - not to mention childish. I went to my own mechanic who tested the alternator and there was not one thing wrong with it. In order to get my warranty on the battery I went back one more time into that nasty, unprofessional manager. True to form, the manager, who wanted to be sure I knew he was the manager and had no recourse , and offered to replay video footage to prove that what I was saying was not what he had said to me, would not be giving me a clear warranty. He interrupted me numerous times and finally just looked at me and said "get out of here, God bless you, have a good day." When I continued to try to talk with him he repeated "get out of here, God bless you have a good day." And if you write any reviews about me I'll send my lawyer after you. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY AND A REALLY BAD DAY AND DO NOT SET FOOT IN PEP BOYS AT MONTANO AND COORS. read more

Typical mechanic shop horror story. Took my car in to have the brakes checked out & was advised that it needs over $1200 in repairs. Didn't go through with it. Took it to another local shop for a second opinion & I actually needed NO repairs at all at this time. read more
