BE AWARE AND GET A SECOND OPINION!!!!!!…read more I brought my car (Hyundai Sonata) in to have my air conditioning system looked at because it wasn't blowing cold air let alone cool air just air. I had a thought of what it MIGHT be, but I wanted to have it looked at to discover the root of the problem. After like thirty or forty minutes they told me it was low on Freon. So I'm no expert I just have experience with cars' AC systems and what could happen over periods of time, they could reload the Freon and I be on my way in about an hour, they also offered to clean out the tube to clean out any mold that might be there, but I respectfully declined, they waived the diagnostic fee of $185, I paid $504 for the Freon refill, and I was on my way. Now a week later, my car's air conditioning was starting to blow cold air only on the passenger side and now just air like it did before I had the Freon refilled. So I took my car to the dealership and asked for a diagnostic of the air conditioning system along with a safety recall and we had an answer. It turns out it was the AC evaporator, which was the initial problem because they did a full check. What I mean is that in order to get this figured out they had to run dye through the system to find leaks and remove the windshield and dashboard in order to find the problem. Now this Goodyear, their technician ran dye through the system and DID NOT advise me further about it possibly being something more. When I brought this to them, they did not take me seriously, acted like they saved the dealership an extra step, and told me that they do not do this kind of extensive check because they don't like to throw parts at their customers or due to the size of my car (I have a Hyundai Sonata it not huge but not like a coupe or a Fiat), they also said the dealership cheated on their diagnosis because they used their dye that was still there in order to find the problem, and because of them waiving the diagnostic fee one of their guys did not get paid properly (and based on the technician's response to that it sounds like it had happen before). The technician that was helping me took the quote from the dealership and worked the numbers to beat the quote given and the best they would do was $300 less than the dealership which was almost $3000 and they could do it in one day instead of two days which they probably thought would seal the deal with me and the fact that the manufacturer's guide says it only takes less than a day. All I could think was "NO WAY", they already tried to hide an issue that they decided not to check despite putting dye in my car to check it but refused to touch the inside of my car to possibly find the issue before I even spent the money, when they also claimed their AC technician is the best in the company, well you're not touching my car again and potentially squeezing me for more money. All they cared about was citing their own policy and gloating in the fact that the dealership "got help" from them because they had already put the dye in my car to find the problem.

The manager of the shop Kiante called me. I've been going to Valvoline since 2023. The last two times I went to get my oil changed. I noticed the car shaking and moving really aggressively, and sounds of a ratchet gun. When I question them, they said that the drain plug was a little tight to not worry. The last time I went was the same issue, and I started to really pay attention what was going on. They started draining my oil from the top of the engine. I do not remember the person that worked on my vehicle but they said that it was normal to suck it out from the top of the engine. Last week when I spoke with the manager Kiante, he said that they do oil changes from Jeep grand Cherokee's from the top of the engine all the time and that's how it's done. This is a lie. My dad owned an automotive shop my entire life up to 2020 when he passed away. I know this is not true. When I questioned him, he asked me if I was calling him a liar. I said you're not telling me the truth so I guess you are. I thought it was really unprofessional and from that point on the conversation went bad. The manager was yelling at me and speaking to me in a very unprofessional tone. He claimed that it was not them that stripped the drain plug and he refused to take accountability. I know that Valvoline is responsible because that is the only place I ever took my jeep to have an oil change in the last 3 years. I told him I didn't want to speak with him anymore that I'd rather speak with his area manager,(Sean). The store manager then told me that he's gonna look at the video and he'll show me what happened underneath my engine. All I really wanted was for them to replace the drain plug that they had stripped. At this point, I don't trust nor believe anything He says. I've been waiting six days for Sean to call me back. Now my faith and confidence in Valvoline technicians to do the right thing is gone. I went to a local mechanic who told me that the drain plug was tight and so hard that it took him a while to get it out. He said it was way over tightened. A new drain plug cost only nine dollars and change. I got a new oil change. I had to go through all this aggravation for a nine dollar drain plug. I really think that upper management should look into these two managers and see how incompetent they are acting. Looking at past online reviews of this shop I see that there has been similar problems in the past. I can honestly say I cannot recommend Valvoline anymore especially the one at this location.

When I returned for the first pickup on November 12th, I discovered new damage on the car that was not present at drop-off, which I documented with timestamped photos. When I pointed this out, the manager (Tim) initially denied it until the photos were shown. During that same first pickup, I identified multiple paint defects on the bumper. Instead of addressing them, Tim became combative and stated that I was the one who had damaged the bumper--something that was not true and did not match the condition of the car shown in my photos from drop-off. This was extremely concerning and added to the growing trust issues I was experiencing. I later withdrew repair authorization due to the new damage and the accusation, but the shop continued working on the vehicle anyway. During the second pickup attempt, the situation escalated. My daughter and wife were inspecting the car when additional issues were found, including paint defects, misalignment, and a missing underbody cover plate that had not been reinstalled. Despite these issues, we were told to take the car as-is. A staff member then made a false accusation that my minor daughter had chipped paint from the bumper--something disproven by timestamped photos and video taken before the vehicle was touched. The interaction also included hostile comments, which were captured on video. The next day, we took the vehicle to Maurice's Auto Body, who documented and confirmed every defect, including the missing underbody panel and the new damage created at Douglas. They completed the repairs properly, and Douglas ultimately paid them for part of the corrective work. My experience reflected: * new damage created during the repair process, * refusal to correct visible defects, * an accusation that I damaged the bumper during the first pickup, * unauthorized continuation of repairs after I withdrew approval, * false accusations toward both me and my daughter, * and unprofessional, hostile conduct. Next morning I found the nearest Wally World Auto Center and purchased two new tires. Suddenly I'm summoned to the auto bay because the (clearing my throat) gentleman who changed the tire over torqued the lug, stripped it and broke the bolt! Amigo's Tire was recommended to fix the problem. I went for it because they had a pretty good rating and they just down the street. A little congested out front but I was quickly directed to the rear of the shop apparently that's where the magic happens. The mechanic told me what I needed and how much it would cost. He took care of everything right away. I was less than an hour. I went back to Wally World and had my tiers installed. Thanks to Amigo's Tires I was able to return to South Florida without needing to give up a kidney or any other vital body parts.
