Came in desperate for a repair on my 2013 sedan after a different business stripped my drain plug when I had come in for an oil change. Unfortunately they no longer manufactured the replacement I needed; yet instead of charging me $1400 for a more extensive repair, I overheard them (Derek, I think?) calling around many local businesses to find a part that would work. They were able to do that and change my oil for a grand total of just $120-- WAY less than I had feared. This was all accomplished in a very short timeframe (90 minutes?), too. I would rate 0 stars if I could. I brought my car in for a routine inspection. I ended up needing new brakes. I dropped my car off at 8:30 in the morning and was told it would be done by the end of the day. They didn't start my inspection until after 4pm, and then I get a call at 6:30pm saying they didn't have the right materials and I'd have to wait until 10am the following day to pick up my car. I went in the next day around 10am and it was not done yet. Then the technician changing my brakes comes to tell me that my parking brake motor broke and I'd have to purchase the new part. He said while trying to back my car up the parking brake kept locking up and my car would not move, and my parking brake light kept blinking and they could not get it to turn off. I asked how this part broke because I had no issues when I brought my car in. His response was "it just happens sometimes". Then it turns out I cannot purchase this part through PepBoys and I'd have to get it from a dealership. I waited there for 3 hours until they released my car. I kept asking what was taking so long and for updates and I just kept getting an "I'm not sure" or a "let me go check". After it was finally released, I asked the technician if my car was safe to drive, and he said yes. He said he took the motor apart and fixed it. He said I wouldn't have to get a new part cause he took it apart and put it back together. I then took my car to a different mechanic for a second opinion. There I found out that the technician actually broke and tampered with the parking brake motor and sensor clips. I have photo evidence of the broken parts. I tested my parking brake and it does not catch on one side and the light continues to blink. So at the end of the day, the technician at PepBoys broke a part of my car. I've called PepBoys eveyday since this occurred. After the first call the manager said he'd look into it and call me back. I never got a call back so I called again 3 hours later to check in and I was told the manager was on his lunch break. I've called everyday since and the manager refuses to respond to my calls. The men that work at this particular PepBoys do not take women seriously. I've been given every excuse in the book as to why the manager cannot come to the phone. I'm assured each time that he is looking into the issue and he "hasn't forgotten about you", yet I've never once been called back. DO NOT give these people your business or trust them with your vehicle. read more

Had my truck towed an hour before close with a flat tire. The tool used to get the spare down had been stolen. They told me there were 9 cars in from of me and couldn't get to me today. Too busy to take 5-10 minutes and let my spare down. I was on my way home from a 5 hour car ride. They wouldn't even let me borrow the tool to change the flat myself. i wouldn't take my bike back to this place. read more

Booked online for a car inspection. Arrived on time for appointment. Told it would be a minimum of 90 minutes before they would do the inspection. Online appointments are supposedly last in line for service per worker. Also told had to have the registration and insurance card printed. Both the state and insurance send electronic documents only. I don't print them because electronic is acceptable. If the booking system said I needed to print them I would have done so. Unable to complete appointment. Very disappointed and won't use them for simple services ever again. read more

I was happy but not sure now. I have an older car that has begun to experience wear and tear issues. I went in twice for two separate issues. The first was related to the power steering going out. I got it fixed and was happy, but I had to return two weeks later to fix the power steering again. They said they would give me a discount on the price to fix it again. I understand that things can happen after the initial repair is made, so I paid to fix the same issue again and it has been ok since. A month or so later I experienced brake failure. I again paid them to fix the issue, and they did, but again, two weeks later and the abs/traction control sensor is now going bad. I was going to take it back but tbh I'm not sure I trust them at this point. I'd rather go somewhere else to fix it who will do it correctly the first time. I previously had a good experience with them the year before and the employees and manager are nice, but after having to return twice within two weeks for both of these issues I can say I'm done with them. read more

I'm so disappointed! I was in town for work and needed a tire repair. Everyone was friendly, but I found out after the fact that I had been charged for a repair that was never done. They told me they had been able to fix it, I paid for the service, and I traveled 3 hours home to run into the same issue. When I took it to another repair shop, they confirmed (and showed me) how and why it was impossible for Pep Boys to have actually done anything at all to repair it. What a scam! Do not go here. This location is not transparent about all their various hidden fees and will not explain why you should or should not get a service. I needed a coil spring replaced and they asked if I wanted an alignment. I know NOTHING about cars so declined just due to already racking up a significant bill with them. If I would've been told I NEEDED an alignment, I would've had them do it; however they didn't explain anything. The next day the car can barely turn the wheels and all the lights are going off. My wife goes (I was at work) and was told she would have to leave it there for the day while she's holding our 1 year old. They expected her to either stay their ALL DAY or walk home with our again, 1 YEAR OLD SON. They would not prioritize us and finish the job they started. Awful service. Awful work. No transparency. Do not use pep boys. Had front breaks done and had to have them replaced a couple of times then had a front control arm replaced. Finally went somewhere else to have breaks cause I was tired of them only lasting a couple of months before they started to fail. Then they told me I need a control arm less than 6 months after having one done at Pepe boys and it was half the price. A control arm is suppose to last more than six months but after having issues over and over I'd just moved on so not having to deal with pep boys anymore cause every time the do something it needs replaced shortly after cause of horrible service. Scheduled follow up appt for remaining work and was told could wait and have the brakes and rotors put on and be out in an hour or so. Scheduled my appointment 5 days in advance for inspection and repairs. Dropped the car off the evening before the day of my appointment while still open. Pepboys finally looked at my car around 4:15 PM the day of the appointment. Called and said they didn't have time to do the service that day. So I guess it doesn't matter how many days in advance you scheduled your appointment they get to you whenever. I understand things come up, but when you schedule an appointment 5 days in advance you would think they would get you in first thing in the morning. NOT!!! Then they decide they won't take the oil I bought from them , and changed at home. Service guy Rian says "we don't take it anymore" after i came 2 other times earlier in the month when he said oh the tank is just full. Call to Customer Service and the story changes again, he just said that because it was full. I can't imagine the lies he tells to his service customers. AVOID! Too many honest places out there. Unqualified personal, dirty store, managers rude and aggressive. Came in after placing an online order. Had a confirmed appointment to get new tires installed. When I got there, they didn't have my tires. Guy behind the counter went to search for them but couldn't find them. Manager and his buddy who were verbally bashing a customer from earlier in the day stopped their conversation to also go look for the elusive tires. When they couldn't find them and gave up hope, they offered to sell me other tires of lesser quality for the same price. I left at that point. While they were searching for my tires, I browsed around the store. Couldn't help but see dirt (not dust) on several display stands. Floor was gritty, like sand. Trash shoved in corners of the display shelves. The people working looked like they hated life. Several people behind the counters not even bothering to look up. Had this miserable look on their face. No greeting upon entering the store, no display of customer attentiveness. As mentioned earlier, the manager had just got off a phone call about a customer and their inspection. I don't know the details of the situation but it was worth trading jokes about the customer after the call. Apparently he was an older gentleman with a suspected drinking habit who didn't show adequate knowledge of vehicles. Their jokes were cut short when they were summoned to retrieve the tires I reserved online. I left empty handed. I had been in this store only once before vowing to never return. The deal on the tire was too good to be true, obviously, but bit nonetheless. Fool me once, shame on you. Cool me twice, shame on me. read more

I have been to this Pep Boys twice in the last month and they have been the most helpful. Everyone has been super nice to me and even though my issues were not the most serious (thank god) they were really good to me. My exhaust hanger broke off and a young man crawled under my car and put a hanger on it to get me home. They couldn't fix me that day but helped me enough to get home. I went back the next day and they fixed it. They also changed my oil and honored my coupon. I just went back today because my tire blew. Josh was super helpful. I couldn't decide if I wanted to just go to Walmart where I got the tires or just get them on at there. I decided to get them on at Pep Boys. It only took an hour and my car was fixed. I appreciate the patience the guys here have. I am not the most car savvy and I'm always afraid I'm getting taken for one but I have felt really good going here. Also they are open until 9 and seem to always been able to help me when I come. I would suggest going here get maintenance done on your car. read more

Having recently moved to the state, I've been trying to be a good citizen and get all my state safety inspections, emissions checks, etc. done within the first two weeks of moving in. I scheduled a (in this state) routine safety inspection and was met with the unfortunate presence of Wally - nothing but sarcastic and dismissive and wholly unwilling to answer my simple questions about what I could bring to make his job easier. Fortunately he was not the one to cash me out when the service was finished. The lady who did was very pleasant. But should the "Keep Pennsylvania beautiful" only apply to the landscape or perhaps also to our personalities? How about some shared kindness to our (now) fellow Pennsylvanians? read more

Both times it's been "fixed" before, it's been $350, only to need the reservoir refilled in 2 or 3 days. And appointments apparently don't mean anything here. It's 3 pm. I had a noon appointment. Ah, Pep Boys of Cranberry, PA. You are definitely a dingleberry in a pile of diamonds. Kids, don't go to this Pep Boys if: 1. You value scheduling appointments ahead of time. Oh, sure, you can go online and set up a handy appointment days in advance and check off all the things you need done to your car. You can write little notes and get really specific about what you want done to your vehicle. You can even drop your car off early if you like. But it won't matter, as you'll be quoted a turnover time of "an hour, to an hour and a half, something like that," which is the exact same amount of time that a random joe just walking in and dropping his car off will receive. Your vehicle will not have any priority because you scheduled it to be looked at ahead of time. 2. You actually want to be known as who you are. When I went to this Pep Boys, I had scheduled my car's maintenance online, so they had my name, phone number, and address all in advance. After dropping off my car and calling the store back to see when the work might be finished, they couldn't find my info because they somehow entered it under someone else's name and address, but with my phone number. Not only did they do this once, but they did it again two weeks later. Seriously, how stupid can you get? I became two entirely different people even though I had clearly given these geniuses my correct info twice. 3. You actually expect them to notify you when your car is ready like they say they're going to do. I was never called back by the store to be informed that my car was ready. I called back after being quoted that vague "hour, to an hour and a half, something like that" and was told my car still wasn't ready, that it would be another "hour, hour and a half, maybe two, but we'll call you." This never happened. After getting tired of waiting for said amount of time and an hour beyond that, I went back to the store to find my car finished and sitting in the parking lot. No one bothered to call. The mechanic who was working on my car had also apparently left the store and no one else knew where he had gone, so discussing any followup work I may have needed was met with blank stares. 4. You care about the state of your car afterward. I had an oil change and tire rotation done here, along with a yearly inspection. When it was finished and I went out to get my car in the lot, there was an oily rag left in the driver's seat. Great! Oh, and what's this? The mileage/next maintenance date sticker that they usually stick in the upper left corner of your windshield was lying on the floor all curled up and discarded. That's some service! 5. You trust the advice of your mechanic. I was notified that I needed to have my flex pipe underneath the car repaired and that it would be cheaper to take it somewhere else and have that done, because they could only replace everything and not just the one part for some reason. They suggested I take it over to Monro, then I could come back, have my car re-inspected and my sticker put on my windshield. I appreciated the advice, did what they suggested and brought my car back. When everything else had been bungled so badly and I complained about the service (see next point), I was told I could have just gotten my sticker at the place I got my flex pipe fixed. When I stated that they had informed me I *had* to come back to their place to have that done, I was met with blank stares and silence. Peachy. 6. You value good customer service in any form or fashion. After having gone through all the aforementioned crap, I informed the manager that my experience at this store was pretty darned terrible and that his crew does shoddy work, citing all above problems. His reply? "Well, that's just your opinion." When I then mentioned that the store got poor reviews on Yelp, he said, "Oh, Yelp! People just go on there to write bad things." Oh, OK. So a customer's negative take on your lousy service doesn't count, only the good ones. I can see we're dealing with a person in denial here. I then stated, "Well, the customer is always right." He laughed directly at me as he repeated, "The customer is always right!" as he looked at his buddies for support. I'm sorry you clearly don't care for your customers, sir. That's been obvious from the very beginning, which is why I am lodging a complaint about your service, but you'd rather just laugh it off and act like people would never dream of saying something bad about what happens in your store. So be it. Here's another bad review for you on Yelp as well as notification that your corporate office has been informed of your acting like a complete jackass and general lack of concern. You and your crew are only there to punch in and get your paychecks. Got it. Too bad you're completely incompetent at any of the work you're hired to do. read more

I had a coupon from a competitor of Pep Boy and asked them if they would honor it. They said they would...so I got my oil and filters changed, tires rotated, brakes checked, and tire pressure checked for $19.99. Is that a deal or what? I only waited 45 minutes for my car. I did not have an appointment...I would suggest getting an appointment, but things worked out for me. Check it out and use coupon...any competitor's coupon will do because they will take it. read more

In the last month both of my cars needed to be inspected and needed new tires. I went here because the have one of the best deals on tires (buy 3 get 1 free). They failed both cars! The first one needed brakes, however they came up with a list a mile long totaling about $2300 to have them fix everything they claimed was wrong, except the back brakes! I had everything taken care of at my normal mechanic (who said he didn't even know where they got some of the measurements they came up with) and the grand total (including getting the back brakes and everything else they "suggested" fixed) was $1600... Now, the second car, again I needed tires and I thought 'oh what the hay lets see what they won't pass it for'. A strut and of course they recommend fixing both at one time as well as 2 lights, 1 of which is a license plate light that the other mechanic couldn't get the cover off of (screws are stripped) and told me it would pass with only 1 light! So not scammers? I don't know about that. Anything to make a buck is more like it. On the bright side, this time Dillan was rather pleasant, I don't remember who the tech was last time but he was rather rude when I said I couldn't afford a $2000+ bill. read more

Superb service! I had never been to a pep boys before, let alone this particular shop. However, I had a nail stuck in my tire during a trip for work and they were the closest shop to where I was located. In a timely fashion (less than half an hour), with no appointment, they had my tire fixed! At no cost to me! I was blown away; Nothing is free anymore these days would. I highly recommend Pep Boys for tire services. I will definitely be using their services in the future! read more

Worst customer service ever! I had an appointment @8:00. By 9:30 my repairs were approved (fleet co). I inquired @1:30 as to why it was taking such a long time and I was told that I need to wait because they were "still trying to catch up from yesterday". Seriously??? To add fuel to the fire, I was forced to go back to the Cranberry location when I had my windshield replaced (for new inspection sticker) and I was told I needed to make an appointment, for a new sticker, and the appointment would take several hours. WTF??? I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy!! Stay away!! read more

I have never been to a worse place to get my vehicle fixed. The dealership was actually faster, cheaper, and and more honest. That says a lot. I just spent over 5 hours waiting for a job that takes about an hour. Worst part is the past 2 other times I came here they made me wait over 2 hours as well. Avoid this Pep Boys at all costs. Update to my post a few days ago about my PepBoys experience. I just picked my car up from a local Auto Repair Shop. They did replace my Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly. However, the bad Lower Ball Joint was fine and did not need to be replaced even though PepBoys Cranberry said to replace. My total bill was $465.26 compared to the PepBoys quote of approximately $1,400.00. Enough said and I am finished wasting my time and money on/with PepBoys. I hope this helps! read more

Created an appointment at Pep Boys and showed up at the exact time of my appointment which was 10:30 am. When creating the appointment I selected the option to wait there while the vehicle was being serviced so this was not a drop off and show up later type of thing. The person told me it would take a little bit of time to get to it and stated a time of 12:00 noon and for it to be done by 1:00 pm. That wasn't ideal but I accepted I'd be sitting around for a few hours and was ok with it. The vehicle still hadn't even been touched at 3:00 pm and still no call or anything. I sat at a nearby restaurant for hours and eventually had to just demand the keys back. Apparently it was acceptable to let a customer just sit around for almost 5 hours with no idea what was going on and still no work being done. I absolutely will not be dealing with this store anytime soon. I've had some bad customer service issues in the past but this way very well be the worst I've ever seen in my life. read more

Took Car to Pepboys.. Merchandise missing from Trunk of car after getting serviced. Filed Police Report with Cranberry Township Police Department. Asked to see video footage was told it was their property and would not share. Trying to push blame elsewhere. Got lots of attitude from management. Filed a report with the Corporate office as well. I will never trust taking my car their again! Plus they put a leaking battery in the back of my car also! Also told me to go to the Ford Dealership to pick up a window wiper to pass inspections. I've gotten a couple oil changes there not the cheapest but if you tell them you saw a coupon online they will give you a discount. Every time I've used them they have been really professional.
