In the last two weeks I have gone to this location with an appointment. Once for a battery and once for a valve stem. Both times called and told them the issue and asked if everything was in stock. Both time is was told yes. Both times they needed to order the part I verified was there before I made the appointment. And my favorite is the answer to the question "How long" is always "45 minutes". Bottom line is they don't stock much, lie to you when asked a direct question, have nothing in stock (no valve stem at a tire shop), and do not mind wasting your time. Debated about putting names in here - but, they are just employees trying to get by. Also, the corral (waiting area) is horrid, no bathroom and the place is under renovation for going on 2 years I believe. Avoid this place no matter what. read more

Absolutely disgusting of an establishment, they finessed me out of 600$ for fuel injectors that never needed to get replaced. I came in with a problem left with it driving ok, not even a week later my car breaks down on the side of the road and i have to pay 160$ for a tow. Not only did it not need to be replaced the connector were FULL of oil! These connectors are electric they dont need oil so two things, they never replaced my fuel injectors or they replaced whichever two they wanted out of the four and left the connectors full of oil. So they knew that the fuel injectors werent the problem because you MUST take off the connectors to get to the fuel injectorS... do what you will with this information, but dont listen to these people they will try to suck every penny they can off of you, dont trust cecilia or marvin thats who worked on my car, he must be blind or drunk to not have noticed or intentionally turn a blind eye to the oil filled connectors, MY FURL INJECTORS WERE FINE! I went to a trusted mechanic and he didnt even have to change the fuel injectors he notcied the connectors were full of oil cleaned them out and now my baby is running perfect... so yea screw this place screw those people DO NOT TRUST A WORD THEY SAY! If its not a routine oil change or whatever they are half capable of doing, dont trust them, they dont know wtf theyre doing!!!! Theyre the car version of scammers!!! I had a tire with a chip in it that was leaking air and needed to be replaced. I booked an appointment online for the same day and paid in advance. Rob checked me in and was friendly and efficient and gave me a realistic wait time which I really appreciated. I chose to wait in house because an hour and half didn't feel worth an Uber back and forth. Jahlani completed the work and was also really kind in the few interactions we had, like locating the wheel lock key in the vehicle. Andre checked me out and was super patient because I actually had an issue with the card I used for the prepay. For my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk, the tires are a little on the bigger size and out the door the cost was $250. For the size of tire needed by my vehicle, and then choosing a middle tier one, I feel like it was a good value for quick service by a really great team. read more

Rude manager, awful customer service. After purchasing 4 new tires on Amazon, I was offered installation and delivery to this Pep Boys location. After delivery I've got confirmation by email from the store which included the spec of tires purchased as well as my car's year make and model. On the day scheduled for installation I called the store just to confirm, they were not able to find the order, so after I gave all the info all over again, they confirmed all was good. I drove there and after a rude service I was informed the could not install those tires bc they didn't meet manufacturers specs. That was after email confirmation abs call!!! read more

THEY WILL LIE TO YOU - DO NOT GO HERE. I am absolutely shocked by their attempt to manipulate me. I came in for a tire patch - ended up having to pay for a new tube and tire - $236 (That's expected if nail is too deep into tire). I asked them to do a brake check while they were under. He informed me that I needed new rotors and brakes totaling over $1,500. He said the situation was metal - on - metal and needed replacing NOW. I was very skeptical because I saw 0 indication of these problems. I said I would pick up the car because I wanted to check for myself. I have replaced my own rotors and brakes before so luckily I have some experience. I go home and take apart my rotors and brakes. I had 80-60% life left on rotors and brake pads. There was absolutely no problem. This shop will lie to get your money. I am a young female and they were probably just hoping to get an extra buck. I will be reporting to the BBB. read more

I think this place needs A couple of more stars. First off i called this morning and Jose answered and he was so polite and scheduled my appt to come in the same day to buy new tires . Funny thing is i mistakenly went to the wrong Pep Boys in sunrise, i felt like i walked into A funeral parlor there . It was quiet and not one person greeted me or even acknowledged me when i walked in . Finally i was noticed and realized i was at the wrong place and they wouldn't accommodate me so i called the Pep boys on Stirling and spoke to Jose again and he said I could still come in . Once I got there I was greeted right away by Miguel and Jose , Miguel was so personable and really helpful , he made light of everything and helped me pick out my tires . I felt like i was speaking to A family member, but a kool one .. lol he explained the tires and the warranty and everything that they would be doing today . Everything went smoothly although things around me were hectic i couldn't tell because they were busy making sure that my car would be ready at A decent amount of time. Today I brought my truck in and told the service department that the check engine light was on and could they look at it. They said yes . They told me it would be a little over $100.00 to run the test. They told me any work done the Fee would be taken off of the repair. They called and said they ran the test and that they were not able to fix the problem. They recommend that I take it to the dealership. They gave me my keys and told me there would be no charge. Pep Boys is the most convenient way to get auto supplies and small work done on your car if you do not need to go to the dealership. Do not have to go very often, but not knowing so much about mechanics in cars, I love coming here when I need to get new batteries, wipers, and fluids for your engine or wiper fluid. Have to be careful of what time of day you go because you definitely wait a long time, but if you go first thing in the morning, the service department will get you in and out quickly. It's definitely the most convenient and quick way to get those aggravating things done for your car you don't like to deal with. I am not really sure about how economical it is because when I went for a new battery, I did not have time to shop and I think I spent 30.00-40.00 too much, but the battery I needed, they had limited supply, and I was not going to start shopping batteries, if you know what I mean. Great thing though: have a three year warranty on the battery I got, and in Florida batteries sometimes last less than that, from what I have been told. For convenience and good service, I recommend Pep Boys service. read more

Now i find out that my breaks are fine so peo boys lied to me trying to get me to do an unnecessary service. I had my air filters changed (in cabin and engine) and now i found out at jiffy lube that they only changed the engine one and charged me for both) and pep boy broke my wheel lock while changing my tires and stuffed it back in also i am Missing one of the knobs on the wheel. This is not only insulting, this is customer abuse. When i went back to tell them to replace the wheel lock they accused me of lying and said firestone (who only checked my wheels) broke it not them. I brought my car in on Sept 21 because my check engine light came on, well they couldn't find out what was wrong and told me to go to the dealer. The dealer couldn't get me in for a week and tried the Pep Boys in Davie and they told me it was the thermostat. So if one Pep Boys can diagnose the problem why couldn't this location diagnose the problem? If I would have waited for the dealer like they recommended my car would have overheated!! Very nice experience here. I have made 3 visits to this location for wheel alignments and tire balancing and I must say that the team has been nice and courteous to me. What I appreciated the most was that when they told me that the wait will be about an hour, they were correct about it! Lay and behold, I wasn't there for more than an hour. Then I returned to change the battery of my car, they told me 2 hours, I returned to the store after 3 hours and they had not changed the battery. My husband made an appointment for me for my AUDI Q7, 2015 to change my battery. He called before to let them know my make and model and make sure they have it in stock. They took my car in, wrote everything down at the front desk and I was told it will take 1-1,5h. After one hour they called me and told me they are not able to change my battery I didn't really hear why so when I came back I asked again. The guy at the desk literally turned his back on me and walked away explaining why... seriously? And his final verdict was - you cannot force us to do something what we don't want to do!!! Another gentleman / his name was Julio came to my car with a jumper box to jump my car. He was apologizing for the guy at the front desk. I left hopeless and crying They called me on the way home (I live about 7mins away) and tried to explain themselves - my battery is under the driver seat - I understand it's not easy to change it - but still - they didn't know they are lazy to do it once we made that appointment ??? I had to waist my time and feel humiliated??? My husband has a same car and it was changed at the same location just by different crew just couple of weeks ago!!! I'm really busy with my job and it wasn't easy to take off in order to get my car fixed. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS LOCATION! If I could rate this location zero stars, I would. We came to this location to replace TWO tires, one of which was damaged and dangerous to drive on. We discussed this issue and which tires we wanted replaced. Somehow they took off the two tires that were fine and rotated the tires we wanted replaced (including the damaged tire) putting the new ones in their place. We did this right before leaving for a road trip. Unfortunately for us, we trusted their work. We drove on this tire to our destination and back again before noticing they left the damaged tire. This tire could have blown up at any moment, risking my life, my husbands life and or two year old daughter's life. We called them to discuss our concerns and have the situation corrected, we were accused of lying as they maintained their position of denial and refusing responsibility. We have attempted to contact corporate for over two weeks and have yet to receive a response. They want US to pay for half of the work to fix this situation, that we did not cause. In the meantime we continue to risk our lives, having to continue traveling to work and such. This situation needs to be rectified as soon as possible or the Better Business Bureau will hear from us next. read more

I am having problem with my a/c in my car only hot air comes out. U wen to my local Pep Boys and told them what the issue is. The called me back couple hours later and said I needed multiple items replaced including a dryer and the parts will not be in till next week. I told them not to do work and I will pick up my car. And a diagnostic fee $65. Then took my car to local Acura dealer and told them same issue only hot air coming out unit. They called me back and said there was a leak and need replacing and new refrigerate to replace under $300. Very disappointed in Pep Boys only interested in selling my items I do not need. Unfortunately Pep Boys your customer service and timeliness in handling claims results in a 1 star on Yelp. To start, a $70 oil change turned into a month worth of phone calls, hold times, time away from work, time spent traveling to body shop, and additional time spent traveling to said body shop two weeks in a row. This shop has been my go to for ALL of my automotive needs for both my wife's and my cars throughout the past several years. In all, I would estimate at least $2500 worth of tires, goods, and services have been purchased through Pep Boys. We could easily go to another competitor, but, I always felt like Pep Boys took care of the customer better than the others. Boy was I wrong. As mentioned above, a $70 oil change resulted in a 2.5" - 3" gash in the driver's side door of my wife's Chevrolet Traverse, which was acknowledged by Pep Boys at time of service. Being rather level headed and understanding that accidents happen, we chalked this experience up to a mistake and understood that Pep Boys were to handle the repair. I will say Pep Boys did comp me an air filter and install at time of original oil change service as a peace offering. This is where the peace ended and the headaches mounted. After a couple weeks of stopping in to speak with the Service Manager Alex (always missing him) and multiple attempts via phone (20 - 30 minute hold times, I mean what is actually going on here) I finally got corporate involved. This was laughable at best. I was told I was going to be contacted by the District Manager - Francis Rosario. Instead the service manager contacted me to set up an appointment with an independent paint shop as to avoid putting in a claim. OK no problem, thanks. 1 hour round trip to drop the car off in Ft. Lauderdale, picked up next day - color was not matched correctly. Told to bring up following week. To be without a car in a family of 5 with 2 working parents is impossible, let alone plan for work to be completed during the week. There was never a mention of, "Hey we will get you a rental car while the work is being done. Multiple hours and weekend days completely wasted over this ordeal. Call Pep Boys store to inform, held for 10 minutes and before finally hanging up and calling corporate on a Sunday. Was informed this time that the District Manager - Francis was definitely going to contact me, well, this time it was the store manager Russell (I believe). What a waste of time this was out of my work day speaking to this guy. Also, to add insult to injury, he goes on with a story implying these types of things happen all the time and our particular case isn't even as bad as others and that he, himself had just dealt with a similar issue on a personal level. Um, OK didn't ask, don't care. We ended this conversation with me being rather upset, and expecting a call back as he stated he would. Well, no call back and by the following Friday the independent paint shop contacted me solely, wondering if I was still bringing the car up to be repainted. At this point, I felt we were backed into a corner and had to comply with Pep Boys zero communication in this ordeal. After a little back and forth with the paint shop we finally worked out a time to bring it up over the weekend to have the job completed properly. Finally picked up the vehicle on Sunday afternoon and the work is done. How many times has Pep Boys reached out to me though out this ordeal, once and this was only after I put a call into Corporate and zero (0) communication from the district manager. At the end of the day, I am happy that it finally worked out and our car is fixed, but the month of headaches, hold times, travel to and from (x 2), not to mention a very upset wife, left a terrible taste in my mouth. Funny thing is, a nasty nail caused me the need to drop $$$ on new tires for our other car and guess where it didn't go... Anyways, that's my two cents and a review for Yelp. read more

ZERO Stars!!!!! I wrote this review on the shop I took my car in after my visit to this Pep Boys location, but this is what happened to me. I normally am afraid to take my car to any garage thinking that I will get screwed. So when the AC went out in my 4Runner, I was hesitated to take it in for repair just anywhere. I got a coupon from Pep Boys for free AC check so I decided to take the car in there for an estimate first. The guys over at Pep Boys took 4 hours to do the diagnostic and came back to tell me all the different things is wrong with my car. The final estimate: almost $800.00. I couldn't believe it. So I asked my friends around to see if they can recommend me to a honest auto repair shop with fair prices. Luckily I found another garage not too far from where I live. The shop manager there was very friendly and helpful. He examined my car and told me pretty much the same thing the guys at Pep Boys told me, except the costs. I saved over $200.00 from the estimate from Pep Boys quote. Therefore, I highly do not recommend anyone to take their car in this store for any repairs. read more

Lamar and his crew really came through for me last night. After driving down from Orlando for a family emergency, we had to hop a median to avoid an accident (south Florida drivers) yesterday afternoon. Around 8pm last night a chunk of our tire sheared off the side wall, likely from hitting the median. After trying to find the location on 441 for 30 mins with no luck, we stumbled upon this location. They were 25 minutes to closing and we needed 2 new rear tires to make the drive home. Needless to say we were at our wits end. Everyone there really came through for us and had the tires on incredibly quickly. All of the staff were very kind, and even offered water for out 7month old pup. This Pep-Boys turned our night around, and lifted our spirits to not only make it home, but make it happily. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. In a pinch there has to be better places to go - even another pep boys in the area. This experience was beyond painful. Upon entry I was not even acknowledged by the assistant manager, even after receiving eye contact I was not acknowledged, and was completely ignored. When someone finally did acknowledge me and I told them what I needed, a battery and windshield wipers, they still continued to ignore me and talk amongst themselves. It was empty im there I might add. I even had an appointment. Finally after walking around I found a mechanic in the garage who directed me to a sales associate who was able to help me and then told me I needed to give my key. I explained if I turned the car off they'd have to jump it. They insisted on the key. Fast forward about 45 minutes later past my appointment time they couldn't jump my car. The battery packs weren't charged, it took them an additional 20 minutes to get it into the garage. And once it was there, they put the car up on the lift - for a battery change??? The sales rep told me, "it's for an oil change that's what your here for right"? And I told him, "no, I just spoke with you I'm here for a battery". Then he ran out to check with the guys and came back saying it was for an inspection. Finally, at 4:15 the car still wasn't ready - my appointment was at 2:30, and we'd been there since 2. We walked across to cvs to get a snack and when we came back at five assuming we'd given them ample time, the car was parked out front and the door was locked. The sign on the door said closes at 6pm. I had to frantically bang at the door to have someone let me in otherwise I'd have been stranded in Hollywood. No one even bothered to call and let me know the car was ready. I was finally let in and ignored some more, finally the guy let me pay and didn't even give me the inspection report that they wasted my time with. Never again - If you value your time and your sanity, this was like a bad episode of the twilight zone. read more
