My husband and I were driving through South Florida when we noticed a shimmy in our steering wheel. It worsened as the drive progressed, and we decided to find a service store to handle it before something serious happened. Jerry answered the phone, was super friendly, and told us to come right over. He greeted us outside and diagnosed the issue within minutes. The belt was separating inside the front passenger side tire and the tire was about to blow out. I've been coming to Tire Hut for almost 20 years. Even had at one time, my car towed to Tire Hut for an additional $100 because I refused to take it anywhere else. I have never been disappointed but in fact had my expectations exceeded. I've never had to haggle prices because I know I'm getting the best products at the best prices. Whether it was new tires, oil changes, alignments, etc... Tire Hut never cuts corners. I have always been extremely satisfied by the way I was treated and of course with the exceptional service. Don't get caught up with the hype other Tire dealers offer, its never a good deal. Back then I was struggling fitness trainer with a constantly misaligned Miata.... no other tire place I went to would be honest enough to tell me I had an axle issue causing me to blow through tires. I have been buying tires from Jerry as long as I can remember. 40+ years. Never went anywhere else. I needed two front tires for my wife's 2020 VW Passat. I know there are several different brands w/ different pricing , so I went to TIRE HUT Website https://www.tirehut.com/Shop-For-Tires/Buy-Tires-Online. After sorting through the wide variety of tires available, I found the exact same brand that was on the car at a price I thought was within my budget. It was noted on the page Price Each $121.09 and that it was noted "At The Time of Service" it would be an additional $66.50 for mounting and balancing and would be available in store that Friday (this was on Wednesday) . I was totally cool with the pricing, and I printed out the page in order to eliminate the extra few minutes it takes at the customer service desk to select the appropriate tire I drove to Tire Hut at 1250 W Sunrise Blvd location. When I presented the printout to Jerry he said " I don't sell that brand and I don't sell tires online" I never intended to BUY THEM online, since there was mounting and balancing required at an extra fee. Then he said "That's Not my Website" . (I had only printed out the tire info and not the web page detail) I was caught by surprise and missed the opportunity to point out the detail re: (will be in store on Friday meaning they had to be ordered) I thought I could be mistaken when doing my research and just blasted my way through on the Google search and pulled up a different tire company. Jerry then proceeded to sell me a much more expensive tire. So having had the trust and loyalty of experience I said OK and proceeded to sit in the waiting room. As it turns out I have locking wheels and didn't have the unlock device, so I had to reschedule. I just left tire hut and I am again a satisfied customer. I played with the owner Jerry trying to see if I could piss him off and he didn't go for it haha. Previously he has fixed a number of items for me in the past and never a problem, always reasonable. I had him look at my tires today as the truck vibrates on I-95 when I get to 75 mph or more. He rotated the tires, re-balanced each wheel and did it within a half hour. I very rarely have to wait when I visit his shop. I wasn't sure if i had bought the tires from him ( i checked at home and I did NOT). I asked him to check but he is a dinosaur and only has paper reciepts, so we didn't know. My brother, a retiree, called looking for two used replacement tires for his van. Jerry quoted him $70 dollars per tire. When we got there, Jerry said it would be $80 dollars plus installation. When my brother asked why Jerry just laughed as if, you are here...what are you going to do now. Took over an hour as mechanics stopped working on his van and kept working on other vehicles intermittently, so it took longer than it should. One of the tires had a hole it (per the mechanics test) then Jerry said, "whaddya expect for 80 dollars, these are used tires, I will have them put a patch on it" and acted like we were being unreasonable. New tires would have been 20 bucks more at Wal Mart and we probably would not have dealt with that unpleasant experience. Note sure how someone takes advantage of the elderly, nickeling and diming them while laughing all the way. This experience was an example that there are rotten human beings in the world that prey on elderly and have no moral compass. read more

I actually stopped here a few months before I bought the tires and they told me I was actually fine and could still roll on the tires I had. It was one of those rare times that I didn't feel I was trying to get hustled at an automotive shop. I came back when it was time to change my tires out. $100 each tire, including mounting. They were done in 40 min! That's 10 minutes a tire if my math is correct ;) It was smooth sailing, or should I say driving, from there till I bought a new car. I picked up a nail in my tire and wasn't sure if I could get away with a patch or I had to get a new tire. Let's just say that there isn't a shortage of tire places in the area. I went to Tire Hut based on reviews, location, and looked like a quality place from the outside. I went inside and was greeted by Jerry. I told him that I might need a plug and or new tire. He told me to meet him outside in customer service. Before even looking at the tire he started writing up a service contract. He basically threw it at me wanting my signature. I asked him how much is a repair? And if we couldn't repair then do they have the correct tire size in stock? He said the patch would be $30 dollars. Without saying anything he started walking towards my car and I said would you like the tire size. He yelled "please just let me do my job!" He returned and said yes we do have that tire in stock. I asked used or new? He said both and that used tires will start at $50-$150. I asked about the thread condition on the used tires and once again in a very rude standoff type of way he said "sir, they are used tires so of course they are going to be used and worn!!" With this I had enough of this guys attitude. I said sir thank you for your time but I'm all set. The look on his face was priceless. He said as I was leaving "wellll thank you sirr for your time. Looking like his dog had just been run over by a car. Ended up going right up the street to Dales Tires and they were extremely busy. Must have been 25 or so guys hustling on getting these cars done. I was out of there in 30 minutes and the total cost was $15 dollars. Great job Dale and team! read more

After previously giving 5 stars two years ago, I unfortunately have to now give 1 star. I took two tires to be mounted on two 16" Fuchs wheels. I thought it was a recipe for success... I'll remove the wheels so I don't risk any damage to a classic car. Unfortunately, it still didn't work out. My wheel was gouged by the owner and I was charged full price of $35 per wheel for mounting. I found out about the damage WHILE I WAS PAYING as the owner said "oh I damaged your wheel". I found that to be less than courteous as it would have been correct to FIRST say "I have damaged your wheel and won't charge you for mounting, etc. " The owner stated that I could "get it repaired" by someone he knows. That is not correct and I knew it the minute he damaged the wheel as they are anodized and not repairable. The only offered "repair" is a make shift process which is NOT correct and NOT factory. So to recap- I paid $70 to mount / damage a perfect wheel. To get the anodized process is not cheap and has not been offered, even after I explained (very calmly) my concerns. read more

Bought all new tires for my C5 Corvette in February. I'm totally satisfied with price, time for work, and knowing the work was done right. 100% recommend. I made the appt for around lunch time at Jerry's suggestion so I could Uber downtown while they did the work. (Before Covid-19 shut all down). I also got a needed alignment - I normally hate getting them because inevitably there's a problem I have to go back for but not at Tire Hut! Everything was perfect! Last week my flat tire indicator came on and sure enough, the air was low so I called Jerry. I asked if maybe I should just go to someone closer, but Jerry preferred I bring it in because too many shops do shoddy work and he wanted to be sure I'm safe. I have run flats so he told me to get air no matter what anyway before driving there. Everyone was wearing masks and I never went inside. I chose to wait under a shady tree and watch from there. There were two nails in one of my new tires, UGH! Luckily they were able to fix and Jerry sent me on my way no charge, thank you very much. PS Two cars, including a BMW, came in needing tires. Upon looking, they were on backwards (inside was on the outside), which can cause multiple problems. Jerry showed me what to look for and pointed out to me that's why it's worth driving the extra distance to him even though there's a bunch of tire shops between me and Tire Hut. LUDDITE - SELF RIGHTEOUS - PREPARE TO WAIT. I got a set of tires at Tire Hut 3 years ago. I went back for their free tire rotation (at 6:45am, they open at 7). Jerry, the owner told me I'd have to wait for the 4 customers before me. I asked if there was a list or if I could make an appointment. He went on a tirade that it's first come-first serve, and he's been doing it that way for 40 years. Wincing with disbelief, I wondered if he missed the last 40 years of technological innovation (internet, websites, cell phones, etc, that made waiting a rarity in lots of businesses. I went back a couple more times with my bike on the back before the wait was short enough. I left my car, and rode my bike home for a couple of hours. After 3 years on my tires, one was making a wa-wa-wa noise that became unbearable. Investigating what tires I wanted to get, I decided to go back to the place where I'd gotten my previous tires, and ask Jerry's advice. After all he seemed very proud of how long he'd been in the tire business. I told him I wanted a different tire, and he went on a diatribe about how the tires I had were noisy and terrible on the road (they came on the car). I asked what he'd recommend instead, and after another round of criticizing the tires I had, he asked me what I wanted. I showed him a few tires I'd been reading about, and he said, nobody's heard of those, the web reviews are meaningless, and they're going to fail. I asked him again, what he recommended, and he insisted I should only consider the major brands. I asked specifically which ones he recommended, and he said he'd send me a couple of quotes -- which he never did. I'm glad to have met Jerry, the tire evangelist, because his bitterness motivated me to read enough about tires to pick superior ones on Amazon for 30% less, have them installed for $10 each, at a place that uses current technology, didn't make me wait, and treated me kindly. I don't know if Jerry realizes that there are 4 tire shops exactly like his, on the same street, within less than a mile. I will not go back, and I cannot recommend his business, not even to ask a recommendation from the tire know-it-all. read more
