    We had a couple of great experiences. Honest and good work so we continued to go trying to build relationships/ trust (etc.) My husband took my car Thursday to get it diagnosed (eval) to figure out whatever was going on with it. He took it Thursday 8/3 and was told it would only take a few hrs. We were not called until Friday morning and told the eval results. We then said we would come pick it up and discovered that personal items were missing from my trunk and they ransacked through it and also out of the middle counsel inside of my car. No damages to the outside of my vehicle so a break in was improbable. We then called and explained the situation and was told by the manager that he would check security cameras and call back by the end of the business day. We received no such call. We then called the next morning and was told he didn't have time but if he did he would look at it and call us back. We then received a phone call a few hrs later from a different employee NOT THE MANAGER and was told there was no footage of anyone going inside my vehicle and they were not responsible for what happened in the parking lot and to file a police report. Sad part is we had multiple cars that we trusted pep boys to do maintenance with and now they have lost all of our business.

    TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN FROM THIS FRAUDULENT ESTABLISHMENT‼‼‼ CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT PENDING‼‼‼ Drove my son's vehicle to the pep boys in Garner NC for a free engine light diagnostic. Checked in the vehicle with Renee (supposedly the "GM") of this location. (MY EXACT VERBIAGE!) I advised her that the vehicle is running hot and the engine light has come on, "I would like a free diagnostic to determine what the main issue is." I advised her that I've taken several of my Volvo's' to Pepboys in Miami (where I live half of the year), for simple oil changes and tire rotations. Renee proceeds to ask "phone number", she advises that she has located my account. She then advises she needed to "update my account" and proceeds to ask for my address. I'm assuming she's looking at my Miami home addresses. So I assumed she needs an address for my property here in Cary. I provide it. Then she asks for the keys - asks if I am staying or leaving the car. I advise I would be back for the vehicle once the diagnostic is complete. Renee advises "we'll call you once it's ready.' Approximately 30 minutes later I receive a call from Renee (the manager) who advises that the entire engine was blown and would cost $3,500 for labor, not including the cost of the engine. On a vehicle that I seamlessly drove from my home to Pepboys?! If that didn't sound sketchy enough - what I didn't advise them of, was that my neighbor (who's a mechanic) had already taken a look at it and gave me a $200 quote on a cracked water pump replacement. I was taking it upon myself to get a second quote before I preceded with the water pump repair. Renee then asked, if I would like them to locate an engine for that vehicle or if I would like to pick it up. I advised her, no thank you - I will be picking it up. She then proceeded to say "your invoice would be at the front" and she hung up! Once I arrive to retrieve my car and key (Renee has left for the day), and a big fat old man is at the front desk. I proceed to provide my information so he could hand over my key and I could leave. He pulls an invoice from the desk with a $$ amount for a coolant check and parts. He advises he would not be releasing my key until I pay for the services preformed. I advised him, there must be a misunderstanding because Ive dropped off my sons vehicle for a free diagnostic check - there shouldn't be a cost associated with a FREE diagnostic! He then calls Renee to clear up the misunderstanding - when she advises that SHE HAD COMMUNICATED A DOLLAR AMOUNT UPON DROP OFF OF THE VEHICLE?! Renee barely lifted her head up to acknowledge me at check in, NEVER-THE-LESS communicate a cost above and beyond the FREE DIAGNOSTIC I was requesting! I look above the front desk and notice a camera security system, and ask the man at the front desk to please replay the footage where she advised me of "the cost"! He proceeds to say - VERBATIM, "those cameras are footage only, they do not have audio - so you will not catch us that way"! Almost implying, that they've fraudulently done this before! What Renee ("the manager") wasn't aware of - is that I am a defense attorney for the State of North Carolina & Florida! You have a bigger problem on your hands for fraudulently preying on the finances of clients who are entrusting their personal property to a "reliable"/"integral" establishment for honest quotes and services! I proceeded to advise the man (name unknown) at the front desk, that I will be towing my sons vehicle out of the lot IMMEDIATELY! He then advised, "if I did that, he would call the police"! I laughed and advised him - my GOOD OL' FRIENDS at the county police department were already ON THEIR WAY to assist the escort of my sons vehicle! The following day, my colleague at my firm was in contact to retrieve paper trail evidence and my sons key! All individuals evolved will be served and summoned to court shortly! THERE WILL be a complete and thorough investigation into this Pep Boys establishment in Garner NC! I'm confident that there are many other victims that would like their experiences shared! Sorry to all of the other victims of this fraudulent business establishment!

    I visited this Discount Tire location on Jan 19, 2026 to fix an issue with my tire: a stuck nail…read more After the terrible experience at the Wake Forest location (on 11212 Capital Blvd) that was a walk-in, I decided to make an appointment for this visit... the first time I had to do so. Discount Tire's Journey Tracker app actually worked properly this time around (it didn't work at all at Wake Forest). I used it to notify that I was on the way, and of my arrival after I parked at the designated lot. It was about five minutes before the appointment time when I arrived. Despite the day being a public holiday (Martin Luther King, Jr.), the wait time was a fraction of the 5-minute I had suffered at Wake Forest. After the staff member looked at my car, he determined that the tire had to be replaced. Since I didn't purchase a warranty, I paid full price for the replacement. Unlike at Wake Forest, the staff member told me approximately what time the my car would be ready for pickup, and that the technicians worked on my car almost immediately (Wake Forest didn't get to it until almost four hours later). Journey Tracker was updated to show 1) time window of my arrival and 2) estimated completion time. The text message on my phone showed the check-in time of 3:19pm. Like at Wake Forest, 4400 Fayetteville has three bays; unlike at Wake Forest, 4400 Fayetteville were operating three service areas full-time in their bays during the entire time I was there. The waiting area was less than half-full. l returned almost an hour later but didn't wait long to pick up my car. The text message notified me at 4:12pm that it was ready. That was the time that I got into my car and left. Total wait time was less than an hour. Why did I choose 4400 Fayetteville? Because they had appointments available the next day while all the other locations didn't. I was expecting similar crappy services that I had at Wake Forest, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't the case. It restored my confidence in Discount Tire and reaffirmed that not all of their locations are the same. Even though 4400 Fayetteville is out of the way for me, I will consider going back here for future services.

By yesterday evening I had a flat…read more I went back this morning (had to call AAA yesterday because I was stranded at work due to the flat) and they patched the hole. I left, and noted they did not recalibrate the TPS. Did that and decided to check the tire pressure myself. All four of them were at different pressures, two of which were 20psi OVER where it should be. At this point I'm pressed. We paid $185 for a tire that had a hole and needed patching. I had to call AAA, and I missed half a day of work. We go back. We're like hey, clearly whoever put these on doesn't know wtf they're doing b/c we had a hole and they're all at different pressures and they're over pressure. This sucks, we don't want your shoddy tires we want our money back. They did absolutely jack all to make it right. I drove to my mechanic to make sure the tires were now safe to drive on. They fixed the tire pressure in them, and my mechanic said that I won't die, but the tires they sold me have tread on them so bad they would NOT pass state inspection. $185 and if I had to get an inspection tomorrow I wouldn't pass? Are you for real right now? This is unreal and not right. Integrity is dead in the modern age.

When we picked it up they said "it's in great shape and just needed the coolant line replaced." I drove it off the lot and noticed the air wasn't getting cool. 2 days later, the AC went out completely. We brought it to a different shop and they pulled out the cabin filter which was entirely black and clogged (pictures uploaded). In addition to that, the Freon line had been sprayed at Walton's and had a microscopic hole. The new auto shop said "there's no way they missed this." We called, to obviously voice concerns about the cabin filter not being checked when we asked for an entire overhaul... they said "we never brought it over to our services side"... I'm not sure why they wouldn't do that. I'm incredibly disappointed in the service we were given at this shop. We were told "it's unfortunate timing and a coincidence" it's ABSOLUTELY NOT. It's bad business. I will NEVER return and I will recommend that people do NOT go here ever again. I'm confused and frustrated... come to find out they don't even check transmissions or engines at this shop!! Which was never disclosed to us. Save yourself a world of pain and money and do NOT bring your car here!

They don't take appointments so you may have to wait an hour or two or leave your car over night to get the work done. They are reliable, friendly, and most importantly in this industry, honest! They take great care of your vehicle, covering your seat as they move the car in and out of the shop. The staff is very knowledgeable and honest. That's the key. They aren't trying to sell or push something unneeded on you. They take the time to educate you on what's is needed. Above all, their prices are fair. Overall the experience is always a pleasant one. A side note, because they knowledgeable and honest, they are also busy. If you need something quick, show up early. I mean 7 am. They open at 7:30. You'll thank me. Well, that is ironic considering all the other times I am there with the same situations, they take the truck back and I'm home NLT 1 pm. I usually go local for the oil change and then support a local business or two, but this is the second time in 6 months the young gentleman told me he couldn't get to me. This time had a helper "girlfriend" behind the desk hanging out which I've never seen before either. This is just not like Fuquay tire and their normal level of service. I went somewhere else because it needed to be done but it has me questioning if every time I recommend this store if I'm now making a mistake.
