Best. Service. Ever. (This is a long story but I assure you it's worth reading) I drive a 99 Jeep Wrangler, matte black, two door, soft top, the perfect vehicle. Her name is Blackjack. A few months ago, I drove Blackjack the wrong way down a one-way street in Wildwood. Shortly after, I was pulled over by the most beautiful cop ever seen. In an effort to play it cool, I accidentally ripped my glove box completely out of its socket, and spilled all of its contents onto the floor of my car. Real smooth. At the time I was working 14 hour days, so getting it fixed wasn't my top priority. It just kind of hung like a mudflap from the top buckle that I had loosely hooked it onto. Eventually I had learned to live with it, and kinda just stopped using it unless I had to. Fast forward a couple months, I'm back home and I need an oil change. I called this Pep Boys location and they said they could fit me in for one before the end of the day. So I dropped Blackjack off that afternoon, not mentioning anything at all about the glove box. They had her turned around so fast I didn't even have time to start making dinner. When I went back in, I chatted with one of the friendly guys for a couple minutes, paid for the oil change and was on my way. The next morning on the way to the gym, I glanced over at my glove box and realized they had fixed it completely! And not just a half-assed job either, they put in new parts, hinges, screws and all. It looks and works better now than it did when I bought it. I checked the statement, and found that they didn't charge me a single dime for it! On top of that, they didn't even mention it to me at all! I can't express how happy it made me, even if it sounds silly, it meant a lot, and I'm still incredibly grateful. If I wasn't an already broke college student, I'd love to march back in there and compensate them for their extra work, but since I'm a little strapped for cash as is, I'm hoping a glowing review will prove my appreciation. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! It has completely gone downhill!!! This place was solid years ago but is completely mismanaged and unprofessional. I had originally made an appointment through the Pep Boys site for 4 new tires to be changed after they were delivered from Tire Rack. I called in to confirm the appointment and they said they could not do that time, so I rescheduled 2 days later for 1 PM. When I came in the guy working the desk had no idea what I was talking about even though I had done the same thing twice with their store in the previous years. When they finally located the tires I was told it would be about 3 hours for change and alignment. While I was waiting they were playing some stupid sounds on their phone and complaining that workers were taking breaks without telling them. I decided to get a ride home and waited. When I had left at around 1:30 PM they still had not even brought the truck into the bay. Since I wasn't given the courtesy of a call to tell me they were running behind, 4 hours later I called and they said their workers had been taking breaks which was causing the delay and had just got the tires off and that I also needed new brake pads., which turned out to be false since they were actually talking about a completely different car. I told them to cancel the alignment and I would have someone else do it. That and I had gone through this site and read all the nightmare reviews from other customers. The truck was finally done 5 hours after the original appointment time for merely changing 4 tires. I would give this place below zero stars if I could and will never ever use it again. 5 HOURS TO PUT ON NEW TIRES IS COMPLETELY INEXCUSABLE! read more

Avoid this place at all costs. Paid for new brakes. Got my car returned in limp mode with a break system failure. Advised by the "managers" to take it to the dealer to fix. Paid for brakes got an undrivable car and attitude. This is a nice facility in a great location. This place should be a gold mine. They just can't do the work. Management changes every 6 months. I've had multiple less than positive experiences. This one is over the top. Filed a claim with corporate. Let's see what happens. read more

Disclaimer- I DO NOT want a generic "we're sorry" copy-paste, chat gbt response from this Pep Boys location. I'm writing this so other people are aware and maybe change their minds about stepping foot into this establishment. I almost never leave reviews, but the Hainesport Pep Boys was such a nightmare that I have to. They overcharged me, billed me for multiple items, worked on my car without me being able to authorize the price , and took way longer then said. In addition to all of that- they talked to me like I was stupid. I honestly felt completely taken advantage of because I'm a young woman. I might not be a dictionary for the study of cars - I was just trying to get my oil changed and a new battery. To make matters worse, the blonde girl at the front desk was rude, dismissive, and clearly not cut out for customer service. If this is her idea of customer service, she's in the wrong career. It's really not that hard to be nice, hopefully she'll figure that out somewhere outside of customer service. And judging by the other complaints, I'm not the only one. Those customers deserve their money back - or better yet, this place shouldn't even be open if this is how they operate. The only reason I'm even leaving one star is because headquarters admitted I was overcharged and refunded me. Otherwise, this would be zero. Save yourself the time, money, and aggravation. I needed a simple tire rotation. Made an appointment for 11AM and indicated that i would be waiting for the car. When I dropped the car off they said it would take two hours, so I got a ride home. After two hours I called and the car hadn't gotten into the garage yet. After three hours still no luck. Finally got an update via txt indicating that pickup time would be 6PM. UPDATE: They kept the car for 7 hours and declared that the tires did not need to be rotated, despite the tire manufacturer requiring that they be rotated in order to maintain the warranty! Terrible Service and Rude Management--Avoid This Place If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I took my car here to have the tires changed and specifically told them I needed a new rim added, which was in the trunk, and to put the old one back in the trunk when they were done. They told me it would take two hours, but it ended up taking three--and to top it off, they didn't even change the rim. When I returned the next day to address the issue, the manager was rude and dismissive, reluctant to issue a refund. His exact words were, 'Everyone wants a refund.' Well, if that's the case, it seems like they have a serious customer service problem. The customer service here is the worst. Chris the manager is dismissive and does not care for the company's standards or customers. Beware: This location is having some serious staffing issues. The last time I went for my oil changed they were done before the couch that I was sitting on was warmed from my butt. I was amazed at how quickly they said they were done. I asked if they did the full check of the car and they said yes. Well it appears that they did not do a full check because I needed rear brakes and my pads were so low that it also ruined my rotors so I took my car to another repair place and had to have my brakes and rotors repaired. Had Pep Boys inspected that I would've known and could've save myself a few hundred dollars. I arrived this week for another oil change. I don't know why I went back for more poor service. When I walked in the door there was no one at the front desk. I waited about four minutes and then I had to knock on the glass to get the attention of a mechanic. The gentleman who came out was clearly flustered and stressed and told me that they were understaffed and it would be a few hours before they would be available again. When I had called the day before to make an appointment the young lady who answered told me they had no mechanics available. This location has the best people working here! My husband and I were driving far to Boston for a funeral and the bottom metal guard of my car came off and started scraping on the road. We had to find a place to help us and quick! I called a few places and no one was able to see our car right away until I got a hold of Angelo at Pep Boys. I told him the issue and he had us come in. They had plenty of cars to service but he still looked at my car was able to immediately fix it and we were on our way without much time lost at all. Worst experience ever getting my oil changed. At the same time it was the most expensive oil change I've ever gotten. Took them 1.5 hour to do my car. Wasn't because they were backed up. I was the first car to be worked on that day. They didn't even pull it in until I complained after waiting a half hour watching them talk and smoke cigarettes in the shop. The coffee machine they offer customers was broken. The window they have in the customer waiting area was blocked by some huge poster they installed so we can't see what they're doing. He added some kind of dark oil to the car which I'm sure was not the high end synthetic I paid for. This place is a complete scam hiding behind a well known name. Usually don't leave feedback, but this one is well deserved. After taking my vehicle to have an alignment done at this Pepboys, of course it was more than just an alignment. The mechanic said the camberbolts needed to be replaced as well, then that fix needed another fix as well, then 4 months pass with nothing being done. After all is said and done, none of the work was completed. 4 months later I had to have the vehicle towed to Goodyear. They completed the work in a day. Funny to find out that the original camber bolts are literally still in the car since the mechanics at Goodyear said they had an issue getting them loose because of the rust. Definitely not new camber bolts! Now after making a claim, there is some ridiculous issue with refunding my money. They charge you in less than 5 seconds, and can't refund in less than 5 months. The mechanic was literally stomping around with a childish attitude, as he was throwing tools around and throwing a tantrum. He even unplugged the alignment machine and claimed it wasn't working. But, somehow I was charged for the alignment. Yes, I did personally see that ridiculous display and I did see the machine off since I had to go into my car while it was inside the shop. Needless to say going into month 6 of still waiting for my refund, it will now be a civil case since I had to contact an attorney. Don't use this Pepboys at all cost. read more

After scheduling an appointment I arrived to wait an hour and a half to pull my car in. I then politely went to the front desk and told the CSR that I had work and that I would need to reschedule. He said, "well, I wish you would have told me that!" ...I had made an appointment to avoid having to wait... isn't that the whole point?!... he made me feel as if it was my fault. My car was making a noise when turning, particularly on on-ramps. So I went to the Hainesport Pep Boys. They evaluated my car and reported that I needed new front-end wheel bearings. When I returned to pick up my car, the gentleman at the desk explained that my car was making a new noise and needed a new transmission. He further explained that I probably couldn't have heard the noise before over the wheel bearings previously. However, the noise I heard before could only be heard when turning. Within one mile's drive of the Pep Boys, the noise coming from my car was SO LOUD, when only driving straight, that I became concerned and pulled over. Things were worse after the service was performed! Rather than return to them, I took the car to the Kia dealer in Burlington and asked for an evaluation.They told me the wheel bearings were bad. The ones I paid ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS to install needed to be replaced because they were faulty. Also, the transmission needed to be replaced. The work performed by the Hainesport Pep Boys needed to be completely redone. So I called the Pep Boys in Hainesport and explained the problem. The manager there told me that I could bring my car back and they would fix any problems. This left me with a terrible choice. *** If they couldn't repair it the first time, why would I think you could do it the second time? *** When the work was completed, the mechanic thought it was fine, yet it wasn't. After she left they all sat around and made fun of her. Yeah really. Ask a technical question and the overweight guy with a lisp will talk down to you, like you are stupid. When they 1st opened my wife and I were happy to have them so close. I went in and talked to mark he did some work on a few cars for us and things were good. Unfortunately things went down hill when I dropped off my commuter Jetta for brakes. He called and I heard $700 on the phone for pads and rotors front and rear. I agreed. When I went to pick it up I was shocked to hear $1100- he said I guess 700 sounds like 1100. I wasn't happy. I understand it was a miscommunication we had a good relationship in the past so I signed the paperwork for the additional $400.00. I got my keys and headed to the car to drive home. I started it and had 2 lights on the dash that weren't there before. A check engine light and a ABS light. Without moving the car I went back in and asked him to fix it. He immediately told me it was like that when I dropped it off, I assured him it most certainly was not. He called the tech who was already home, done for the day and the tech said it was. This turned into a argument, he sent another tech out to clear the codes, then tries to tell me it's a bad sensor. I told him I wanted it back how it was when I dropped it off and he agreed to order a new sensor and fix it free of charge. That was 6 months ago. Still waiting mark. I'm very disappointed in Pep Boys service department and management. I scheduled a oil change for this morning and arrived a few minutes early which is fine. Two customers were already waiting for service to be completed on their cars. The service agent signed me in and told me the wait is 1 1/2 hours. That really caught me by surprise because I made a 9:00 appointment. His response to me when I asked why do you offer appointments if you're not going to honor them and his answer was "Think how long it would be if you did not make an appointment". Needless to say I was furious and refused to wait. WHY OFFER APPOINTMENTS IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION TO HONOR THEM. I learned my lesson, I will not go to Pep Boys for auto service. I was driving down Rt 38 and found one of my tires losing air. I noticed a Pep Boys coming up and pulled in. Upon walking into the store I was greeted by the store manager Mark who then communicated 'Welcome to Pep Boys' At that point he took my vehicle into the shop and made me quite comfortable in the customer waiting area and offered fresh coffee. He made me feel right at home. Mark walked me into the shop to look at my vehicle and then showed me that one of my tires had a huge bubble on it. I had taken my car their, to buy 4 tires with mount and balance. Also an alignment. When I picked the car up, it vibrated going at highway speeds (60+mph). I called the manager, he said to bring it back and they would rebalance the tires. So my wife took the car back, Mark the manager tried to make it right. They rebalanced the tires and it was worse. I called Pep Boys, Mark said to bring it back, they would rebalance the tires and give me a free oil change for all the problems. Mark said that he would not be there but the assistant manager would take care of it. I go back and the assistant manager tells me the inner and outer tie-rods are bad, that's why it's vibrating. He did not rebalance or change the oil. He wanted me to believe that was the problem. I told Mark what had taken place, he said that he believed it was the tie-rods ends, so he refunded me the money for the alignment. I took the car to another place, they balanced the tires. The car drives smooth, even at 90+mph. Here are the front wheels with the old weight location circled ( pep boys) the arrow to the new location ( other place). It just happens I was sitting in this store's very clean waiting area the night David P was there and I can tell all of you that this customer treated the employee which I believe was Chris with much disrespect. I overheard this guy that he was going to get something back in money. Chris took the customer out in the bay and showed him he had a front end issue that looked like they hit a pothole directly after their work was completed.
