This experience has been unprofessional, dismissive, and unacceptable. Despite spending over $2000 in repairs within a 10-week period, I was treated disrespectfully over a matter as minor as four plastic fender clips! I had service rendered for the replacement of two front tires, the rear rotor replaced, and the radiator replaced. The fender clips were missing, causing one fender liner to detach from the vehicle and drag on while I was driving. I noticed the driver's fender wheel liner is also missing the clips. I went to the store to address the issue with Service Manager Rheanna Frey and Matthew R. I was directed to proceed with a formal complaint to headquarters and leave their store! The 1st initial alignment was performed greatly but I utilized the 30- day warranty and got an even BETTER RESULT by MANUEL!! If you like getting a 34 month old tire at the price of a new tire then Pep Boys is your place. When I called attention to the fact that the tire they put on my rim was dated as manufactured 34 months ago, they did not allow me to reject it, get as refund or even a discount. I was told that they can sell tires that are 6 years old. (This turns out to be true so- Beware). So, if the sales person and the techs will sell and install a 34 month old tire at the price of a new tire why am I going there? I will find a place where the sales person and the techs will have some degree of trustworthiness. Pep Boys sells old tires as new and this is part of their regular business practice. Beware. I came to pick the car up and while driving back home my front end of the car fell downward making it impossible to drive. We all know once a car has been damaged it will never drive the same compared to how it was before. They have incompetent Managers there that don't know how to manage particularly Matt. I had my brakes and rotors changed at this location. the next morning on my way to work the front driver side caliper came off because the caliper bolts were not put back on properly. I was going 75 exiting off the 215 on Cactus Ave and my brakes failed on me and I had to swerve out of traffic before my truck came to a stop in the intersection. If the caliper would have locked up my wheel at that speed I could have easily rolled my truck. Lucky for me the caliper ground into my wheel on the inside which helped slow me down but it damaged the wheel. The remaining caliper bolt only took 2 turns and the caliper fell off. I put the brake caliper back on and had to get a ride to autozone to get new caliper bolts. I took the truck back to them and they told me I should have had it towed directly to them because now they don't know what REALLY went wrong. They offered me $200 to go away and gave me a card to a rim repair company to try and fix the rim. I had it looked at by a different mechanic and he said he wouldn't trust the wheel, the front calipers or the front driver side rotor after that. Battery warranty I will never deal with pepboys again. I purchased a battery just prior to the stores all closing. Now they only do repair work, no over the counter sales any more. I broke down, and the car won't start. AAA came out, and tested the battery, because the car wouldn't jump start. It was determined that the battery has a short. I declined towing the car, because it's very easy to return it to pepboys for warranty. (and not use my AAA tow). NOT ! I took the battery to pepboys and the lazy tech doesn't even acknowledge my presence, he's too busy on his phone to actually wait on a customer... He tells me to contact customer service for all battery warranty issues from now on.... So, my full 4 year replacement warranty is BS.... Any reason not to pay off ! Customer service told me once I email the receipt in, they will review, and make a determination regarding a replacement. I don't have the receipt.. I just spent $5000.00 at pepboys six months ago for two turbochargers, and was told the receipts are all digital now, and I'm not required to save reciepts any more, they can just look it up.. So, I wasted most of the day lugging around a dead battery, and had to get towed anyway.. Now I have a $300 battery, thats lasted 1.5 years, and now it's landfill .. trash.... We brought my wife's car in for four tires and an alignment this was at 2 or 3 PM Mon 12 -16 and were told that the car would be ready that evening. The time was extended about three times and and finally put off till Tue AM when we got a call that the car was ready . To was a good thing that we did not need the car. I have always avoided places that do not handle their work flow. They take I work and make promises they can not keep. When I asked if they checked the spare the guy said that he was not told to do that. When I pointed to the invoice and pointed out the item " complimentary vehicle inspection" and said if a car comes in for tires would you think the one thing to check would be the spare . The response was a blank look. I asked where the tires that were removed were he said in the back. After 2or 3 times asking he said he would check coming back saying they they are taken in the morning. I wondered out loud why they would dispose of customer property before the invoice was closed. Later when I called and spoke to someone who said he was the manager I was told that tires are removed every morning I said that do you or think that you should hold on to customer property which may be usable as a spare or on a trailer that is used infrequently. The person who eventually assisted me, Jesus, quoted me with an estimate of 1 hour to complete the oil change. I took my car in for new brakes, tires and later on, getting new rotors that same day. Within a month, the wheels were making grinding noises whenever you drove, accelerated or braked and the steering wheel would shake bad. Went to another PB location for new eyes and they said that the rotors were installed incorrectly and affecting everything else so they were cool enough to replace everything under the warranty. Never going to the Hemet location again. If your expertise is being a mechanic, how do you install something wrong that you replace all the time as a technician? read more

I would give zero stars if I could. My mother took her car here to be serviced after it overheated on the way to visit a friend in Hemet. They did a diagnostic and informed her of what needed to be replaced (thermostat, radiator, hoses etc) in order for her car to stop running hot. She spent well over $1000 for these repairs and guess what?!? Her car STILL overheated when driving back home. She had to be towed from the side of the rode. She took the car back to these ripoffs and they told her that they didn't see a problem with her car after doing another diagnostic. Simply put, they saw an older woman and tried to take advantage of her. Repeatedly. Don't take your car here! COUNT THIS AS YOUR WARNING: I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS LOCATION, AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! I've taken my cars here and always got whatever or okay service. But this last time was a waist of time and money. My fiance and i took our vehicle in due to overheating and leaking of coolant (which they were made aware of) asked for and paid for the leak inspection service. They told us our car needed a new radiator. And instead of sugesting to due a block check to make sure nothing else was compromised they just gave a quote of the cost for a new radiator and the labor to replace it. So we figured that was all it needed and we would have the issue resolved The cost of the part was very high so we said we would look for the part on our end. We told then we are ordering a part we found elswhere cheaper and would bring it in to have the service done. They called every day complaining about the car being parked in the customer parking lot (which is always empty by the way). We got the part in 1 week and they switched the part. We called to see if the car was ready and was told by Paul it had another issue. They said the head gasket is blown, my fiance asked for elaboration and they said they could not tell him if it was just the gasket or the pistons as well. The rude man named Paul told him just take the car to the dealer because we left the car with no coolant when we dropped it off. Which we had topped it off and made sure it was full when we left it. Now them knowing it was leaking coolant should have known to check if it needed some before turning it on driving it back into the shop and servicing it. But instead when asking for the manager/supervisor Paul said they didnt have time to talk on the phone with us that they are just going to refuse to service the vehicle any further. My fiance asked to speak the the manager since this is something they should have caught too. We now dished out $2000 to install a part that was not the fix and now may need a new engine. Phoned regarding a repair I needed done was quoted a price (sadly forgot to write down employees name). Took car in the employee who helped me quoted $200 more and didn't believe the quote I received on the phone. Had work done (was something that couldn't wait). When I arrived to pick up my vehicle waited around for about 10 minutes when an employee finally came to help a gentleman (actually wouldn't call him a gentleman but I'm being nice) walked in and walked right in front of me and instead of the employee helping me he helped the extremely rude man. I was crushed, they quoted me $2,222! I took the advice of a friend to get a second opinion and took it directly to the dealership shop. Suprise, Suprise it's just a sensor issue. NOTHING to do with my transmission. Had they got their way I would have taken their advice and got a new transmission that wasn't need. This place is a joke. Had a 9 am appointment and the car wasn't even touched until after 10am. It was after 12 before it was done. There were so many people waiting for their cars. people were canceling their appointment. An elderly lady was there for a problem with her windows not working. There was an employee named Chris that talked to her very rudely. He said ma'am you were told a few hours. I felt so bad for her. There was a man who had sun 8:30 appointment for four tires to be mounted and there were only 1 and almost another done when we left. I get they were new rims but that was very long time. The guy doing the tires was trying not to scratch the rims but that was way too long for four tires. So many people and very little work getting done. We went for an oil change, tire rotation and balance with cabin air filter replaced & brake check as well as alignment check. It's was a special. Started at 129.00 after all said and done it was 179.99. Never again. Never had to wait that long for maintenance on a car. read more
