I strongly recommend staying away from this location. I brought in four brand new wheels, two new tires, and asked them to reuse two of my existing tires. The car stayed in the shop for about five hours. When I picked it up, I drove home and parked it -- I didn't even drive the next day. The following day, as soon as I pulled out of my driveway, the tire pressure warning light came on. I stopped, removed the wheel, and discovered two holes punched in the inner sidewall of one of my reused tires. The holes had been plugged with screws and covered with black glue. It was clear that the damage was caused during the tire removal process at Pep Boys, likely because someone punctured the tire by mistake to remove it more easily. When I returned to the shop, the staff were rude and dismissive, refusing to take responsibility. Only after I contacted Pep Boys corporate customer service did the store manager agree -- "as a favor" -- to order a replacement tire. She told me it would arrive in a week and sent me off driving on a damaged tire, which was unsafe. During that week, I experienced strong vibrations above 40 mph, worrying the tire could fail at any moment. I also asked that both rear tires be replaced so they would match in condition, but the manager refused. I ended up purchasing the second tire myself. Ironically, my tire arrived earlier than theirs, and when I came to check on the Pep Boys order, I learned they had ordered the wrong tire size. I was told to wait another week. When the correct tire finally arrived, Pep Boys refused to install it. I had both tires installed and balanced at Discount Tire, but the vibration at 60-70 mph remained. Thinking my new wheels might be defective, I almost switched back to my factory set. However, I asked Discount Tire to rebalance the two wheels Pep Boys had previously worked on, and after that, my car drove perfectly smooth. This proves Pep Boys damaged my property, failed to perform proper installation or balancing, and provided unprofessional and rude customer service at every step -- including from their regional manager. Overall, this was a terrible experience from start to finish. I would never trust this location with my vehicle again. I had an 8:30 AM wheel alignment appointment at the Stirling Rd Pep Boys in Fort Lauderdale and arrived at 8:25 AM. The manager, Michael, told me the wait would be over an hour and seemed surprised that I actually showed up for my scheduled appointment. When I questioned why the job wasn't planned properly or why I wasn't notified ahead of time, he told me to "get out" and said they didn't want my business. I've serviced all my 3 cars here for about 18 months, and this was by far the most unprofessional customer service I've ever experienced. Being spoken to this way by a manager is unacceptable. It's been a while since I've taken my vehicle to be serviced at PepBoys and there have been some changes done both inside and outside. The waiting room has adequate seats for customers as they sit and wait for their vehicle to be serviced. You can watch whatever program is set on flat screen TV, help yourself to complimentary coffee, or charge your electronic device at the outlet station. The store is divided into three departments: Service & tire, Parts & advice, and Commercial. You can find items such as floor mats, detailing items, car covers, car customization, towing, bulbs, tools, hardware, jacks, wiper blades, antifreeze, coolant, washer fluid, car audio & video, auto repair manuals, and much more. I had a morning appointment for an oil change, but after thorough inspection, they also found the brake fluid and power steering fluid needed to be changed. I decided to get the brake fluid changed. I made an appointment online for tire balancing. These guys have some of the best prices for tire balancing. It came out to $8.75 per tire and the tire rotation was free. I had a coupon for $20 off alignments for 3 years and it came out to $120. Not bad as you'll get at least 6 alignments out of that. Ronald, the service manager took care of me when I got there. My appointment was for 9:30 and I got there a few minutes late. I was there until 11:30am. So it only took 2 hours for them to do all of that. Pep Boys does NOT include 1 year or any amount of time, of road hazard on their tires. I've never purchased a full set of tires that this benefit was not included. Luckily, it's only $30 to repair. However! As the service associate, Harvin, was helping me, his general manager Gabriel Ruiz, came from the service area and started berating Harvin in front of other customers. Saying that he was going to slow and he needed to speed it up. Harvin was non stop before I was helped and I'm watching him right now and he's literally handling every customer in line. Had a great experience having my 2004 Hyundai Elantra car serviced at pep boys. An expensive couple of repairs but the customer service we received made the overall frustration of car repairs bearable. I also feel that their prices were right in line with what I should have been charged and they were not over priced. They even worked with the warranty company to have the one part that was covered to be taken care of. They communicated effectively with me as to what was wrong with my car, what needed to be fixed, how it was going to be fixed and the time frames. The repairs were done quickly and completed as promised. My car is an older car and not one time was I made to feel uncomfortable because of it. I want to get a couple more years out of it and the mechanics/techs seemed optimistic that if I take care of it that we can certainly do that. Going forward I will take my car here for any work that needs to be done, tires, batteries, oil changes and so on. I had a spare on my FR and a fully dull tire on FL, my two back tires are at 1-3 tire tread length. I came in requesting the new tires on the back...now what would be the smart thing to do.... put the back tire with the 1-3 in the front correct?....common sense ain't common I guess ....i come out to my spare still on my vehicle...then he charged me again for just putting the tire on the wheel (not on the car). Use Caution when getting tire service at PepBoys. Brought my car in for oil change and losing air pressure in passenger rear tire. Pep called me and said "don't see any issue with passenger rear but driver rear had a sidewall puncture and had to be replaced". Later, call from PepBoys said they did find a sidewall puncture on passenger rear as well. I never saw any damage to that tire but told them to replace. When I came to pickup may car asked to see the damaged tires. It was dark but used our flashlights but did not see any damage. Came back a day later in the a.m. when I could see damage and the tires mysteriously disappeared, within 24 hrs on the weekend! Good afternoon.... A little background before I address our experience at one of your stores today. At 65 years old, I have been a "Car Guy" since my teens. Prior to my retirement, I held numerous ASE Automotive Technician Certifications and after starting my career as a Technician, ended my career as a Fleet Manager responsible for a fleet of approx. 1500 vehicles. My daughter needed new tires and an alignment for her 2012 Lincoln MKZ. I had used Pep Boys Service Center in West Hollywood, Fl a few times many years ago but switched to a "Mom and Pop" repair shop some time ago. They closed recently so I figured we'd return to Pep Boys for our Automotive needs. My daughter and son-in-law dropped off the car and was given a total price for the tires and alignment that included a coupon my wife printed from your website. When they returned for the car, the price had increased from $640 to $730 and when questioned about the price difference, the Manager "Gabriel" became extremely belligerent and threatened to call the police. My son-in-law is also an ASE Certified Tech currently working as an Automotive Technician at our local Tesla Dealership. "Jacking the bill" is a scam that's been around as long as we've had cars but I thought a large company like Pep Boys would be above such tactics. Apparently not. I had an appointment for January 6th. I called and spoke with Franklin to see if I could come sooner. He advised that I could come on December 30th at 8am. I told him that I had another appointment at noon and would need to be done by 11 and he said that shouldn't be a problem. I arrived to a line of people at checkin and only one person doing the checking in. At about 8:30 another person began checking in people. I got checked in and reminded them of my time restraints. I was reassured that it wasn't a problem. The mechanics showed up about 9. My car was the first vehicle on the rack. All of the tires were removed and replaced with the purchased tires. The mechanic then took a break it was 10am. I waited and no further work was done on my vehicle. A line had formed to speak to the servicemen so I got in line to find out what was going on at 2045. I overheard the service technician tell a customer in front of me that it will be a three hour wait before his car would be finished. The customer became very upset and was going back and forth about the wait time and the actual time it takes to do the job considering his car was already on the rack as well. Finally I got to the front of the line at about 1110 and asked the service technician to disregard the alignment and just put my tires car so that I could leave. He said that the other technician has gone to get a part for my vehicle and would return soon. At this point I'm thoroughly annoyed because no one has said anything to me considering I was pressed for time it would have been the courteous thing to do. The other service technician then walked up and tried to explain what the problem was in which I really didn't want to hear at this point because it was a bit late to explain. I explained that at this point it doesn't matter what the problem is/was, I just need to get my car expeditiously. Despite me telling him that I don't want to know the cause he insisted on trying to tell me instead of answering how long it would take them to put my tires back on my car so that I can leave; which was causing more time to pass and making me even later for my appointment. He finally said that it will take an hour, in which I explained that I didn't have an hour. I finally just walked away because I was increasingly frustrated. Needless to say I didn't get my car until after twelve. The servicemen were friendly but their communication and consideration was atrocious. read more

I turned my car in Monday July 18th 2022 and was told that my car would be ready in 3-4 days. My car needed to have the evaporator replaced. In order to do the job the dashboard and the windshield needs to be removed. I called on day 3 and was told maybe by Saturday July 23rd. I was told they have a company coming to remove the windshield Monday July 25th and "we'll call you when it's ready" multiple times. July 27th I went back to the location for an update and I was told the ac repair employees are on vacation and the windshield still hasn't been removed. My car has had no progress in days maybe a week because the windshield still hasn't been removed to completely remove the dashboard. You can't completely remove the dashboard if the windshield hasn't been removed. The entire time my vehicle has been getting "repairs" made I've been paying for a rental every day out of pocket. Had I known the staff that would be working on my car was going on vacation I would've never turned my car in for repairs that day. This was a major inconvenience for me and very unprofessional and unfair. Multiple staff had mislead me to believe there has been progress. I was a paying customer like everyone else. This wasn't a favor for me it was business. It was initially a $2,300+ job that I had to pay for and was told the job would be done in 3-4 days. My rental fees came up to an additional $2,300. My car took a month and a week to be repaired. After I paid for my service I was told they would file a claim to pay for some of my rental fees for the inconvenience. Nothing. Nobody has contacted me about it. I've called corporate several times and was told they would get in contact with me. Nothing. I've called corporate and emailed corporate with the same response but nothing. Terrible business. read more

Getting a ticket for having no brakes lights is never fun, and yes it's also dangerous, but after going through the usual changing of the light bulbs, and fuses, they still didn't work. So the next logical step was to set up an appointment with this Pep Boys location to see if they could help me out. Juan took care of everything I needed and was extremely helpful. Being a girl it's usually intimidating to go into a an auto shop and try to not get ripped off, but Juan was incredible. He called me a few hours later and broke down everything that needed to be done to fix my situation (burned out light bulb sockets and a faulty brake switch on my pedal), including all the costs (parts and labor) associated with it. He even took off $50 for what I was having done since it was a hefty price. With the quick service and friendliness at this location - especially from Juan, I will definitely be bringing my car back here for any other services. read more

I took my car Nissan into Pep Boy on 2/3 for an ac issue covered by my auto insurance company.The Mechanic Tech Marcelo inspected the car compressor & I was told the AC compressor wasn't an issue . So I decide to service my car for routine checkup . The service was render & car ready the same day . After 3.5 weeks later I took the car back in 2/28 for the AC compressor was Told By Frank & Marcelo that they need to get my insurance approval before starting service which would take about 5 days . From that point on customer service was horrible. I would call to check the status of the repair & when my car would be ready No One would give me any direct answers when my car would be ready.Telling me they are waiting on parts , basically getting the run around . Finally asking for the manager & Gabriel The Assistant Manager responded on 3/16/22 to explain reason for delays mainly being the insurance company approval was never requested REALLY!!!! That's unacceptable !!!!!!. Gabriel was apologetic for the delays & submitted the claim pending to be approved within 24-48 hours . Finally my car was ready for pickup on 3/19/22. I will never refer anyone to Pep Boys they're customers service was the worst ever . Causing me unnecessary rental fees from 3/3-3/21. This place is the worst. Why? They checked my battery which was fine. I was told I needed a new alternator. THEY LIED. I know for 2 reasons. 1, the amps, as per the manager were fluctuating between 12-14. I knew nothing alternators so I thought that was bad. NO. That's quite good. I was given a price of about $600 for labor & $365 for a remanufactured alternator. Went to the local mechanic with Pep Boys price. Total cost? $365 for a NEW alternator & $285 labor. Same issue of the car cutting persisted. Turns out the problem was a clogged fuel injection. A $13 bottle of fuel injection cleaner solved the whole problem. read more

When I went to pick up my car the car door was not shut and lights were on. The register guy jumped my car and said it would be fine. Then after I picked up my daughter from school the car didn't start. Had to get AAA to jump my car and headed back to this piece of _______!!! The rude staff did not show any concern and in fact mocked me to my face. Got no help here. Had to go to another pep boys and the nice and trained staff there gave me a discounted battery. The next day the manager calls me and tells me he will give me a credit for a free oil change next time. I take it because it's better than nothing. Send my assistant in today for the FREE oil change. Turns out there are NO notes on my account about this and they told my assistant to please call them and ask for Jeffrey or Clifford. This was an absolutely ridiculous experience. I can't even attest to how the quality of service is since I was left waiting at the register for almost 20 minutes and with absolutely no acknowledgement. What was even more disappointing was the fact that I asked the only other employee I saw during that time if he could get someone who could help me and the response was the associate was with a customer. Said associate saw me walk to the register as he stepped out with the customer in question, didn't say a word, not even a simple, "be right with you", and then disappeared for over 15 minutes. I'll gladly retract my review of this place if I'm not understanding of how these kind of shops operate, but wouldn't it be the Mechanic's job to spend that much time investigating a vehicle and the cashier's job to take in the customers for services and pass the info along to the mechanic? Especially when there's a queue of people waiting to be helped? I honestly ended up leaving without service because they clearly don't value my time and I had no intention of staying there for 3 hours. That's what disappearing for that long communicated. I went to this location because my GPS took me here instead of the Stirling road location I usually go to before I realized where I was going. I took my Chrysler 300srt8 to get serviced at this store, the mechanic that worked on it accidentally ripped the bumper off. The manager Juan immediately made a report and fallows up with me the next day. I trust Juan and the other manager Sebastian did the best they could to keep me updated, but it seemed that the corporates claim department wouldn't approve the repairs. 20 conversations over the phone and 2 months later, i keep getting reports from the management that there is nothing that they can do but wait on the claims department to do their job. It sucks that all the managers from this store had to take the heat from me when it seems it was out of their control what the claims department decides to do. I had to contact the customer care 1800pepboys and demanded them to send me a check immediately. Customer Service Manager Teo contacted the next day to verify all my contact information to send me a check. I'm so happy this is over. I bring all my vehicles to this store since 2001. PLEASE HEAR ME! I had gone to this location about 1 month ago to get a full diagnostic on my vehicle. They told me that I needed some sensors and coils replaced because of misfires. I spent $1200. 1-2 days later the check engine light came back on. They told me it was the catalytic converter. I spent another $890. 1-2 days later the check engine light came on again, accompanied by a light whistling noise. They told me to bring it back in. I go back and the service man hooked up the diagnostic a 3rd time and then said,"Oh the thermostat is not reading properly. I have been at this Petboys franchise just a couple of times, although I have been a Petboy customer way up North, where a used to reside. Its service is good. However, this place seems to need to revise its logistics, as the waiting time for repairs is too long. Some of its employees could use some improvement in their skills at negociating services and costs with clients, in order to retain customers. Luckily, I came across this manager or supervisor by the name of Clifford, who besides been knowledgeable of the job, is affable, and good at dealing with us the customers. Good customer care by him.
