Lost me as a customer, at this Pep Bots store. The manager Mickey Patel had bad attitude, arrogant. Had &1,850.00 in service to replace radiator, oil change, rotate tires. I have pep boys card. I Asked about no interest Financing for 1 year he would not call them. I did and when I did I got the other Pep Boys finance who was not knowledgeable nor helpful and they both argued with one another. Last Store manager Patrick and assistant manager JR were way more friendly, helpful and even called Pep Boys finance and not make me call. If you go there go at your own risk. Mickey was more interested in running up bill for other recommendations up to $6,000.00! read more

Oh my god, they tried to overcharge my warranty company, that backfired. So they put the charge on me and held my vehicle hostage. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one that has been ripped off. Hopefully they will find some honest people to operate that location. read more

I used to take all of our cars here in the past but stopped after a bad experience with a previous manager (who is no longer there). Brought my wife's car here Saturday for what I expected was a bad wheel bearing on driver side. Chris (manager) and David (mechanic) took good care of the issue. Did a thorough check the car and my initial diagnosis was correct. Appointment was at 8:00 and I was out of there by 11:00. Reasonable price for repair. I've been going to the PEP Boys shop on Highway 6N for quite some time. I have always received excellent service. Recently I had issues with a really bad tire. Engine was overheating, they charge me $45 for a "courtesy" evaluation, then quote me $2200 for the "necessary" radiator fan assembly & thermostat replacements. Luckily I sought a second opinion and Oregon Automotive identified the thermostat was the only issue so $312 and 2hrs later they had me taken care of. Thank goodness I never went back to this place! Apparently They'll look to force as much work as they can into a job necessary or not. read more

Tires not aired, even tho specifically asked. Oil Change reminder not reset on car. Sticker placed in window next to previous sticker. Drove around to get air in my tires, kid aired them go 40, not 32/33 psi. Had to have him remove air from my tires. Advertised price on website $34.99, was initially quoted for a full synthetic for $70+. No regard to the fact that I said I had a synthetic blend which is a semi synthetic, apparently the kid didn't know thats one in the same. Still ended up paying about $48 and some change for my oil change. I'll stick with a ford dealership. Its actually cheaper with their special. read more

Made an appointment for 11am , arrived 15 minutes early . I was told there were three cars ahead of my and one was for four new tires which would take time. I was Advised the wait time it would be Hour and a half based in the workload of the three customers who came in before me . So I asked, why make an appointment, they said absolutely nothing as guy with the tire install was standing there listening in . Remember this is just an oil change.... Next thing you know , all four of my my tires were removed and on the ground and they are telling and trying to show me that my brakes are bad . It's part of thier courtesy vehicle inspection that I did not ask for. Remember, I just wanted an oil change with an appointment . Short story , the real Pep boys business model is first in , last out. That is ok, if they do not take appointments. So bottom line is appointments at Pep boys is they mean nothing at worst and misleading the customer at best. They know that and acknowledge that today. SCAM ARTISTS went to get my A/C checked out and the guy said my hoses were leaking, I took it to two other places and neither of them said my hoses were leaking. Tried to charge me $1200 to fix my a/c. HONEST AUTO CARE is doing repairs for $700 and was one of the places who said my hoses didn't need to be replaced. Tried to talk to the manager about it and he said what he saw on his screen is not what I was telling him... like come on. You have no idea what your employee said to me. Her told me my hoses were leaking and to fix everything it'd be $1200. Didn't explain the estimate, didn't look over my car with me. Waste of time and money. Would have given this shop a 1 star but the great customer service offset the all the inconveniences. I came here for a tire repair 2 and a half weeks ago. They didn't have the specific tire for my car so it needed to be ordered. The delivery was supposed to take 2 business days yet I am here still after all this time and many phone calls. The service manager, Jason, did a nice job dealing with the hiccups. Along the way my dad's car also got a few nails in it and it was repaired for free. All as the result of debris from our flooded and under recovery neighborhood. The price was reasonable and actual repair work was done fairly fast. read more

My drive shaft completely broke while driving. Thank God I was able to cost in a safe place. I have a Pep boys card and called their wrecker service. I waited an hour, got picked up and towed to Pep boys in Copperfield. Brian took care of me. This was on a Friday afternoon. I also have an extended warranty. So come Saturday the next day, Brian was able to make magic happen and found the only drive shaft left in the city. My truck was ready that day at 4p. Brian delt with my warranty company and I only paid $98. Brian went above and beyond and took care of everything reliving the stress of possibly not having my truck for a week. I've been here four times, but I don't think I'll return after my last visit. Prices are fairly inexpensive and service is on the slow side (45 minutes for an oil change, with no one ahead of me). They push their "go online and make an appointment" all the time, so I was very disappointed when they refused to honor an appointment I'd made last Saturday. They were behind, they had computer issues, etc....bottom line, my "appointment" would be delayed three hours. Came here for the first time because they had a good deal for a wheel alignment. Dropped off the car on a Monday evening and it was estimated to be ready within 2 hours because they were a little busy. So I left and ran other errands. About a couple of hours laters, I got a call notifying me that my car was ready as promised. Came back to pick up my car, and it seems to be running smoothly. My only annoyance was that I was charged like an extra $20 for "shop fees," which was never mentioned beforehand, on top of what I was expected to pay. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with my experience. The guys there were very helpful and courteous. They were able to answer all of my questions. I have been dealing with Pep Boys since I was a boy. After moving to Texas, I was not sure where to get my vehicles serviced. That is when I found this Pep Boys at the intersection of Highway 6 and 529. The manager at that time was Jason, and he treated me very well. Eventually, Jason moved to the Pasadena location and Brian took over as Manager and Jacob as assistant manager. They have always treated me very professionally with a personal touch that keeps me going back. Earlier this year, the AC system on one of my vehicles and it needed some major work, and while that was in the shop waiting on some parts to be delivered, I began to have a transmission challenge with my other one. Brian said they could not do the work there, but he was very professional and referred me to a reputable transmission shop. Then, Brian and Jacob arranged it so that I could pick up my first vehicle (sans AC), so I could at least have something to drive while the transmission on the other was being repaired. Last month I needed a bolt-on exhaust system put on one of my vehicles and Jacob was able to work it out so it...they look and sound great. Yesterday, I was trying to put some step bars on the truck, but the bolts were too tight for me to remove. Today Brian and Jacob took care of assisting me and now I have some nice shiny bars installed. We get all our oil changes done there, along with other automotive work. Came in around 11am. Told them this was my first time and I have never been here . I gave the service desk my phone number and he kept asking if my name was Jessica. I'm like no I never been here. So he added the information but I don't know why he needed to see my ID. He also spelled my email wrong when I was saying out loud to him. He paused when I was spelling it. I was spelling it right. He told me that the service would be done in 5 mins! I didn't even believe him. I was like okay? Total estimate time was 46 minutes. My car engine keeps dying after I changed battery, I brought my car to this location and William, the mechanic, was really good in trouble shooting and explaining what it is the issue. As woman I always worry car repair places are tying to take an advantage with me but not here. I felt very comfortable as he explaining the issue and he actually saved money a bit. I work at Firestone so I know a little bit about cars. However I bring my car to pep boys because I have prepaid maintenance plan from when I purchased my vehicle. The first time I came to this pep boys no one told me any information about my vehicle. I had to ask the condition of it. Which then I found out my tires were very low on tread. The next few times I went back, the technicians did not know how to reset my oil light and did not change the sticker out like I had asked before hand (because they did not do it the previous time). After that I went during my lunch break for an oil change and they told me I would be the next one in. An hour and a half goes by and I check to see the status and they had not even brought my car in yet. Later to find out they have one technician working in the back. I would not have minded if I would have been told that first thing and I would have came back later. So the second time I come back for the same oil change, I get told the same thing, I'll be the next one in. Another hour passes by and I want to check in so the same thing does not happen. Again my car had not been pulled in. And only when I asked the associate did they get my ticket and take it to the technician and they pulled my car in right away. I understand that they can get busy and backed up. But they should be mindful of people's time. And coming from Firestone where I expect the same service as what I give, this was a terrible experience. I wish I could take my car to my Firestone. But I will be trying other pep boys. read more

Ive gotten my oil changed at pep boys for the last few years and was always told that the oil change comes with complimentary tire rotation and air. I took my car in for an oil change and rotation today. I asked the gentlemen working to make sure my tires get rotated and to put air in the tires. I got a call 30 minutes later saying I needed my a new battery, two new back tires, new windshield wipers, new brakes, and new air filter. I just got my car inspected 2 months ago, had my windshield wipers replaced and also gotten a brand new battery 2 WEEKS ago. So of course I said no to all the extra things they wanted to fix outside the oil change. Once I picked up my car I went to discount tire to let them check the two tires pep boys said was bad. They told me it looked like the tires had not been rotated for a very very long time.. meaning not one of the times I had got my oil changed the last year had the tires been rotated like pep boys said. So now have to replace two back tires that have zero trend and the front tires are fine. As for the battery.. I took it to auto zone to have it checked and they said it was 100% charged, the voltage was good, and the battery was fine. So another $230 pep boys wanted me to spend for no reason. Then another hour and a half to replace the brakes they installed at another location just 2 months ago. Apparently ALL Pep Boys suck!! This is just ridiculous. I do NOT recommend them to anyone. Since this is a duplicate listing this will be a duplicate post. My car was working when I took it in. No issues. No isues starting. No issues driving. All I wanted was an oil change. Now, something they did means my car is stuck on valet mode and if I drive any faster than 80 mph. After initially saying they could have done that (on one trip) and then giving me the runaround (second trip) the third trip, they basically said it wasn't their fault and I would have to shell out for my key getting reprogrammed. I came into Pep Boys at 12 Noon on a Wednesday and walked straight up to the service desk. I only needed an oil change but I noticed a manager's special with RainX windshield wipers. Despite knowing I'm being gouged, I opted for the special just to be a good customer and also to resolve my own minor windshield wiper problem. Instantly the rep asks me if I've made an appointment. When I reply no, he flinches and says "We can take care of you." I had planned to drop off my truck and cross over the street to the gym and spend an hour or so getting my lunch workout in. Something told me I wasn't going to be happy when I got back. I walked back over at 1:15pm to find my truck in the same place I left it. When I went in to pay, the same clerk nervously says "Let me check on your vehicle." Realizing they had not touched it and that I'm running late, I opted to cancel the service and drive back to work. Summary: I'm really disappointed that A.) A simple 20 min job couldn't even be started within 80 minutes and B.) that my business as a walk-in customer is disposable to them.
