I was pleasantly surprised with how knowledgeable the employees were at this location. I don't normally hold out much hope with Pep Boys employees but; I was blindsided by the person I met recently! I even threw the odd ball internet question "please describe how this part looks", and gave them the water pump gasket for a 1997 toyota tacoma... Either the person behind the counter knew what I was up to or they were incredibly professional. They said it kinda looks like a number 9 or a 6. Got oil changed there today. Made appointment online. It said it would be $35 after the $10 coupon their web site had. When it was time to pay he hit me with 50 something dollars. I told him price was cheaper on their website but he kept saying it just hasn't been updated. I argued until I got it for advertised price. But I shouldn't have had to go back and forth with him. Also I kept asking them if they put air in tires they said yes. I even asked when I paid are all the tires air pressure even? He said yes. I checked when I hit in car and they were all different lbs in each tire. A couple were off by 5 lbs compared to others. So I got out of car and let air out of three tires to make them all same. Let start off by I went online and got three separate confirmation of my appointment only to once I get in store to have Damon tell me corporate messed up and the computer moves your appointment to a more convenient time for the store accordingly who is on the work schedule for that day but if he puts it in the computer I would have an Appointment. So I made an appointment with him came back two days later only to get the same run around that corporate make the appointments and my appointment was moved again to a week later. There is no one to talk to in the store who can fix or try to accommodate customer. Hi am am writing in regards to the General Manager at the store located at 4841 Dixie Highway in Louisville, Kentucky 40216. Yes I walked in totally upset because the new General manager lied to my elderly father on the telephone and told him my daughter needed 4 brand new tires on a car driven around the city with tires purchased from the same store less than a year prior. What my daughter needed was 1 new tire and an alignment on her car. Which I expected to cost a couple of hundred dollars no problem. The problem is the gm lied to my father and said she need 4 new tires. Her tires had less than 10000 miles on them. When I pointed this out to him, he told me whoever sold me the tires originally must have sold me used tires. Excuse me is that your stores practice because her "old tires" were purchased from here less than a year ago. I requested to get my old tires back and they made the excuse that they couldn't get to them. Even though you literally just finished with the car? You can't get to them? No ma'am they are all the way in the back of the cage and on the bottom. How did 4 tires you literally just took off of my car get to the back and bottom of the cage. THE GM HAD THE AUDACITY TO THEN TELL THE OTHER GUY GO GET A FUCKING TIRE OUT OF OF CAGE.. I DONT CARE WHICH ONE... Well I do I need all 4 of them. I ended up leaving because he threatened to call the police on me.. He refused to show me my tires and I believe he scammed an elderly man just because he saw the opportunity.. He has zero customer service skills and CLEARLY YOU HAVE LOST ALL FUTURE BUSINESS WITH MY FAMILY.. This is the 3 or 4th complete set purchased in 2 years and there are 7 of us. We quit using Big O because of their horrible customer service. We will not use Pep Boys again either. This man clearly took advantage of the old man on the other end of the phone because he wanted his granddaughter safe. Not a coupon used, not a discount code offered, absolutely absurd customer service. I have pics of 3 of the 4 tires one of which is the tire that needed replaced. This Pep Boys has the WORST customer service. The men that work the check-out have the worst attitudes and act like they hate their jobs. I've made appointments that didn't get scheduled, waited 2 hours for an oil change that I had an appointment for and most of the time when I call to schedule an appointment, you are kept on hold forever and when someone finally answers the phone they act like you're bothering them. Won't ever return and you all need some serious customer service training. read more

Appointments are useless appointment scheduled at noon and they take car back and it just stays up on rack. Getting new tires I feel like I could learn to YouTube it and do it in this amount of time. Waste of time don't take appointments and my car back if your not going to service it in a timely matter. Maybe these men need a woman with time management skills to keep them from playing around and wasting everyone's time. Or maybe they need to learn what an appointment actually is I'm not sure which but they seriously need to get their act together will be sharing my review what a waste. Went in to see about getting tires for my truck. I went back to the counter where I stood for about fifteen minutes, watching the lady manager and another supervisor talking behind this little half wall. They were trying not to make eye contact so they could pretend they didn't see me. Finally the supervisor called over to an employee walking by and motioned towards me standing there. Wow! He did see me! The employee was helpful, but, when he tried to ask about specials, it was hard for him to get anyone to pay attention! I finally just told him to let me think about it and I left. This place needs new management. Not lazy uninterested work staff who have forgotten why they are management in the first place. read more

Took my vehicle here because it was running rough. They diagnosed the problem, said they fixed it and charged me about $600. It drove worse than before I took it in. Took it back and they said it had another problem and it would be another $300. They claim the first $600. was so they could find the other problem (vacuum leak). When I said I was going to file complaint they told me they would not talk to me anymore. Sounds like they are just trying to scam people or they just want someone else to pay for their mistakes or incompetence. read more

Had an emergent need when i got a flat tire driving down Dixie Hwy. Pulled into Pep Boys praying they had time to help me. The service manager Bill was quick to write me up and get my car in immediately. My mechanic, Mike..quickly diagnosed my issue and suggested that i may need new windshield wipers. The store manager,Casey, was very curious and helpful suggesting the type of windshield wipers that would fulfill my needs. Over all, my experience was, quick, friendly, and affordable.!!! I will be returning to this location for ask my future automotive needs. read more

Evansville PEP boys is terrible! We ordered 4 tires online after contacting customer service and being connected to the store. We called and verified they had totes in stock, and scheduled our appointment to put them on for today! We drove 2 hours to find out they were finishing up the install on a truck that pulled in 30 min prior to us. And that was the last set. They are not competent individuals at that store! I wasn't the only customer they screwed up; 2 other customers standing there were being screwed over by them as well. I'll never be back! Sorry you all can't hire competent individuals to get it right. But your loss!! read more

I'll never go here again. Took my truck here to be serviced due to no heat. They charged me to diagnose it. Have me the diagnosis claimed they fixed the problem. Picked up the truck and heat still not working due to wrong diagnosis and them installing the wrong part. Not to mention this was in the middle of the no winter (snow) but cold temps. Had to take it back 3 times, they didn't want to fix it but that wasn't going to work. I took the truck to our original mechanic after the third and final time I picked up my truck from Pep Boy's and they fixed it and I requested my money back from Pep Boys. They tried to put up an argument but that wasn't going to work. Needless to say we got ALL of our money back and I'll never go to Pep Boys again. read more

This place is great! After my battery had died 5 times in one day, got it running ONE MORE TIME and got to PEP BOYS.They took my running car straight back, in about 10 minutes, told me my battery had a bad cell, TOOK MY BATTERY AND I to Auto Zone for my replacement then back to the shop where they installed it. Very little charge. Went above and beyond. read more

took my truck there and told them the brakes were not working and the brakes needed bleeding. So they said it was $70.00. I went there and all they say is that the master cylinder had not been pre bleed. so they just looked at the truck for 45 minutes, and came in and said the rear bleeders were to stripped to use so they replaced them. not thinking that I knew the brake cylinders on the rear were brand new. Then they came in and said they could not bleed the brakes and charged me $70.00. They told me the only way they could fix the problem was to replace the brand new master cylinder with another new master cylinder. Because it was not pre bleed, instead of telling me they had to take the master cylinder off and pre bleed it and reinstalled it. And go from there. What lam people. read more
