This was the worst experience I've ever had with a mechanic. They are dishonest and extremely over…read morepriced to the point where it feels like a scam. Long story short: I drove my car in after a check engine light, these people quoted me more than $1,000 in repairs including $160 just to look it and $160 again at the end of the job to check their work. I took my car over to Hondaworld that week and not only did they not see half the repairs needed that Springdale did, the main issue was fixed for $300. -Save yourself a grand and never bring your car to Springdale Automotive- Full Review: I brought my car in last week for a basic diagnostic due to the transmission light coming on, I made an appointment and dropped it off. There are two receptionists and the girl Candy is pretty rude, she didn't really greet me and was so cold that I made a note of it . They also don't tell you until you're up there and handing the key over that off the back they charge a flat $160 for the hour to diagnose it. It took the day to get to my car, when they diagnosed it they texted a link to the report that shows what's all wrong with pictures and what is/isn't urgent. I was called by one of the front office workers that an email was also sent and to go over that and call us back and let us know what I want to do with my car. This email was important because for some ungodly reason the text report does not include the prices-the email does. This was also happening about 30 minutes before they close. I waited for the email for about 10 minutes, I wanted to at least get the report sent before they closed so I could understand it...I was truly baffled that I wasn't going to talk with the actual mechanic at this point. I called up and talked to Candy, I told her to please tell the rep who called me to re-send that email if he hadn't since I was not seeing it. She said ok,they closed,I never got the email. The next morning I called back up, got Candy again, fast forward to me and Candy on the phone watching for that email. She has been implying the issue is on my end end when I told her I wasn't getting it in my inbox or spam. She explained how emails take a few minutes and that I just need to wait, and I have never felt dumber than I did listening to that statement. Most emails take less than 30 seconds, and sure enough their servers were down, so I couldn't see the email. I told Candy that I desperately just want to hear a mechanic tell me what they found over the phone and tell me what it needs. Candy just told me the prices instead and it made it so much worse because she is listing off all of these LARGE charges for services that I ask about, and she couldn't explain it either, so it just felt even more like a price gouge. SPRINGDALE QUOTE: $400 for a transmission fluid service $300 for the oil pressure switch $260 for spark plugs $50 for my brake light $160 for an hour to CHECK THEIR WORK. +$160 for the first diagnosis. Skipping the brake light and spark plugs alone I'm still walking out of there spending $1,000+. I told them to take my car down, pick me up and I'll spend the $160 they charged just look at my car to never have to deal with this place again. Honda World saw my car later that week and told me the only urgent issue was that pressure switch, which they fixed for $200. I also got to talk to the mechanic dealing with me the whole time-and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. They actually pre-ordered that part when I told them my situation over the phone when scheduling the appointment so that it got here as soon as possible. They also caught that my two axels were recalled and they replaced them for free-which was $2,000 worth of repairs! HONDAWORLD QUOTE: $200 for the oil pressure switch $30 for the brake light Free Axels $100 for labor and diagnosis. I spent less than $400. that is $700 less than what Springdale Automotive at Bowmanfield was going to charge me. Oh as a side note just to hammer in how awful that facility was, Something that was not an issue when I dropped my car off, but happened after picking my car up, the front drivers side door was making a metal crunching sound every time I opened my door. I noticed it in their parking lot and should have walked right back in,I was just completely done with that place. I contacted them and asked them about the car door and explained the situation, not even in an accusing way-and they implied I could be lying and they were implying they wouldn't even entertain the idea that they did it until I brought it back in. Which they would not promise would be free. Thank god after I got my car back out of Hondaworld-the issue seemed to have fixed itself...or who knows maybe the beautiful people at Hondaworld fixed that too. I never got that email from Springdale by the way.

It was never mentioned that my SUV would be fully inspected including photos and videos - this cost me time. Later it was explained to me that even if it's only been a couple of weeks since you've had your vehicle in their shop they'll perform this inspection...unless you opt out. (Personally, I think it's a sneaky way of trying to find something else to charge a customer for.) 2. No one called me about the repairs. Instead, I received two separate emails which apparently I didn't understand because the documents consisted of a sub total, a sub total and another sub total. When I called to clarify, I repeatedly told the guy on the phone that I only wanted to spend $x,xxx.xx and he confirmed that this would cover the original requested repairs. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle the invoice was over $1,200 more than the amount agreed to on the phone - WHOA! - apparently because they went ahead and "did everything." 3. Springdale Automotive forces you to purchase their $149.95 discount card. I tried to refuse it twice, but the woman behind the counter was insistent even after I told her I wouldn't be back nor did I know of anyone who would want it. (Personally, I think this forced purchase is wrong on so many levels.) 4. It took four full days for my SUV to be ready and no one called me to let me know when it was done. I had to call twice. 5. Whenever I called and talked to one of the guys on the phone I got a lot of "probably" and "should be" answers. (Red flag!) 6. The two routine repairs seemed to have been done well, but the third item didn't get addressed or fixed. **I will never, EVER, be a repeat customer and I certainly wouldn't recommend the Springdale Automotive chain to anyone. Fortunately, a family member referred me to a local mom-and-pop repair shop that they use. (Note: I delayed writing this review to see if the owner would contact me as indicated. I'm not surprised that it's been crickets.)

Two days later the rear right wheel bearings locked up and destroyed my rear axle. I had to take it to another shop to fix it, after I had to search the country for parts that were destroyed. Their screw up came at a cost of over $1700. I called and emailed, did not get a return call.

They started with the easiest and least expensive option to troubleshoot my problem, and did not try to sell me on thousands of dollars of things that might be the issue up front. It turns out, thankfully, the easiest solution worked, and I was able to pick up my car the same day. Few places, in my experience, provide this kind of conscientious service any more in the automotive industry. I am really grateful to have found them.
