When I tried to explain what was going on, he kept cutting me off, rolling his eyes, and when I asked about pricing and other questions, he kept deep-breathing and shaking his head up and down instead of answering. When I asked regarding the wait I was told to please "work with them". I made an appointment the day before to get an alignment. I got there at 3:25, and was "greeted" but a rude man and had to wait 10 mins to even get checked in because the man behind the computer was very slow. I've been going to pep boys at other locations and every time I walk right in, give them my keys, sit down. Never had it take that long, which was the first red flag. Then I waited in an empty waiting room for an hour, and my car had still not been brought back yet. Every other location I've been to will send me a link to track the progress of my car, and they are always done within an hour. I decided to just go ahead and leave since I didn't want to waste my whole evening and they were just as rude when I was leaving. Don't recommend this location at all!! read more

CAUTION...MUST READ Dear Oklahoma City Residents and Military Veterans, I strongly urge you to think twice before requesting service from PepBoys. Before my appointment, I was quoted $360 (after my military discount, tax exemption, and a January $50 coupon) for front brakes and rotors. However, upon arrival, Service Manager Lenin Colon Torres suddenly quoted me $600--a $240 price hike with no clear justification. Upon reviewing my receipt, I noticed a mysterious $35 "Shop Fee." When I asked Mr. Torres to explain, he could not confidently justify the charge. He scrambled for an answer before finally settling on: "Well, every job has it." This, in my opinion, is nothing short of blatant price gouging. Essentially, I was charged $35 just to receive an invoice. To make matters worse, the so-called military discount was an insult. Instead of honoring a fair discount, he randomly applied 5% to a single item--a pathetic $1.73 off my bill. Considering that PepBoys was founded by Navy veterans, this level of disregard for military customers is absolutely disgraceful. I went to them to have my tires balanced. When I got my car back they left the trunk unlatched and rifled through my car compartments. When I called to complain, they basically dismissed me. That same day, I heard a clunking noise coming from my right rear tire. I continued to hear it, usually when pulling off from a stop. I took it back to them, the "looked it over" then gave me the name and number of a transmission shop. Someone else suggested I might need to have my brakes checked. When they took my tires off, the locking lugnuts were NOT even tight on the right rear and one lugnut was missing on the left rear. Once my tires were put back on and the lugnuts were tightened with a spline key, I didn't hear the noise anymore. They put me in great danger. I figured they'd do nothing, just like when I brought it to them before. I will NOT use them again! read more

NO IN-STORE SHOPPING - RETAIL IS CLOSED. Store hours are wrong - they close at 7 PM. I placed a web order and it took 6 days for email that it was ready for pickup. I went at 6:45 PM and Manager Tylor said they don't sell parts at the store, and they were already closed early for the day because they made an exception. I said I placed a web order. Tylor interrupted me and said I needed to wait until email says order is ready. I said the email says order is ready. Tylor told me to come back the next day. I asked if they would be open the listed hours the next day. Tylor had an attitude and said "Tomorrow is a different day", instead of answering yes or no. He told me to leave because "You're freaking me out". I went back the next day and Tylor was there again. First he said they had no order for Daniel, even when I gave him the order number. I showed him the email with his store address. He went to look through the web orders a third time. He could only find 2 of the spark plugs I ordered. He couldn't explain what happened to the rest of the web order, and said I could probably find the parts in stock down the street at AutoZone or O'Reilly or another competitor. He made it clear that it was a huge bother for him to have to deal with serving customers. after hauling my vehicle there Tuesday afternoon (my vehicle was not turning on), I called the next day and was told that my gas pump needed to be replaced and was told that the next day (Thursday) 2 guys would do the job. I called back Friday at 2pm and was told nothing was being done due to my vehicle not turning on to move it into the shop. I HAULED MY VEHICLE TO THEM. I TOLD THEM IT WASN'T TURNING ON. My car, a 07 Hyundai, was making a squealing sound for a week or two before I decided to make an appointment with Pep Boys. The service was fine, the problem was the fact they have mechanics that don't know where to look or either don't care to look when figuring out a problem with a vehicle. Me not being the most experienced person with automotive mechanic work went with them because they were in network with my extended warranty...never again will I not read up reviews about a business before getting something done. Fast forward two weeks later, on my way to work my heat turns off and squealing sound suddenly stops. Something told me to pop the hood myself (God) just to see that the serpentine belt that's connected to my alternator and other areas in the engine popped. My son hit a curb and bent the rim of his tire after replacing the rim somewhere else that doesn't do futher work we where told it needed an alignment ..made an appointment here to get that done for 9 am 2 days later. When he got there at 9 the store wasn't opened after waiting 20 min early she finally showed up but had no apology for being late. She then proceeded to tell him they had mo one there to do the alignment despite the fact we made an appointment 2 days prior. So we rescheduled for the next day took the car in was given a list of things that was wrong with it like the tie rod replacement and other things was quoted $1700 We decided to shop around as that seem pretty pricey..took it to a trusted place we have had work done on another of our vehicles and the guy calls us back in a few hours and said there was nothing wrong with it beside it needing an aliment ..I feel this place tries to take advantage of my son because he's 17..I will never go back yo this place and highly do not recommend taking any vehicle there unless you want to get scammed. read more

On July 20,19 while traveling (moving) across Country with my family and pets our car broke down and needed a new starter. The next morning we called and spoke to Victor in automotive repair in Oklahoma City. This man was the most friendly and kind person I have ever met. Despite being fully booked that day, he told us to bring the car down and he would take care of it. (it had to be towed there) He didn't even have the correct part in his store so he sent one of his employees out to get it. Then to top it off, our car was so loaded down they couldn't put it on their lift, so they worked on it right there in the parking lot (in the middle of one of their hottest days there.) He had us back on the road after only 3 hours! I could never say enough as to how grateful and thankful I am to him. Did I mention, the most friendly, amazing customer service, in a time where it's not even taught to most people dealing with the public. Again, THANK YOU VICTOR!!! Not all Pep Boys are created equal. I have taken both of our vehicles to this location for service a few times. Each time I leave feeling a bit unsure of the service I received. Maybe even disappointed. When you leave a car repair shop, the last thing you want on your mind is doubt. Each time we left here I've had that feeling of doubt and disappointment. The last time I was here, it was when our car was throwing several different light codes. I needed somebody to have the code reader tell me what I already knew was wrong with the car. I made a special trip here. As my work location and home location are equally distance from this Pep Boys. I rolled into this location, lights a blazing. I went inside and requested that somebody come out and read the codes and let me know what was wrong. The individual that came out and read my codes, did not instill any confidence whatsoever. He plugged in the code reader, and it wouldn't read anything. Clearly the dash had three distinctive lights blaring. He even went under the hood and started pulling fuses. By the time I left, two other lights popped on the dash and I was in worse condition than when I got there. I ended up having to do one thing I hate doing, which was taking my vehicle to the dealership down the road. There, they could successfully read the codes and tell me exactly what I thought was wrong with it. I ended up taking my car to the other Pep Boys on West Memorial. That location knew what they were doing. Miraculously they were able to read the codes with no problem. They also performed an additional test which confirmed which parts were truly damaged, saving me money as I only needed a partial repair instead of a full repair. It was also confirmed, that it was very likely the Pep Boys on Northwest Expressway blew a bunch of fuses during their Improper code reading. The employees that work here are nice enough, but it seems their knowledge base and customer service skills are a bit lacking. Like I said, I've been to other Pep Boys, including the other Oklahoma City location, and have been very pleased with the work I've received. There is just something about this location and the staff that I do not have any confidence in. read more

I've purchased multiple sets of tires on several vehicles and lately the service has dropped horribly. I always purxhase their road hazard and tried to use it for the first time today, which is only going to save me $30. I now realize their road hazard is worthless unless used in the first 90 days. Monday afternoon, I pulled into Walmart, off Council and NW Expressway. As I turned down an aisle to find a parking spot, my car began to act a little crazy. My 2007 Acrua shook, sounded a loud pop and steam expelled from my hood. It scared ME and the innocent mother walking by that was gripping her young son's hand. I quickly turned off my car and called my sweet husband. He assured me it was safe to restart my car and drive it to the back of the parking lot where it is typically empty. And said he would look at it as soon as he was off work. My wonderful sister rescued me from the Walmart parking lot. I was most thankful! After my husband popped the hood he was convinced it was a/c related. We made the short drive down to Pep Boys. By this time is was 7:45 and we were so thankful they were still open. We were greeted by Bill who patiently listened to my situation and was eager to help. The next day, I received a call from Brett. He was an excellent communicator and had an explanation for the shaking, pop and steam from the previous afternoon. He was also extremely sensitive to my pocketbook. I was able to have my car back by 5. 22 hours and a very affordable fix... I'd say I will most definitely be a returning customer. read more

Visit their website for service and other coupons. http://www.pepboys.com/ 3. If you go to the NW expressway location use Mike England the mechanic. He is a big burly guy that will get it done. 4. Sign up for their reward program. After spending $200 on ANYTHING, to include service, you will receive $10 back. 5. Be proactive! The windshield washer fluid was not spraying. I had it looked at Jiffy Lube, but decided to try Pep Boys. I had used them in Vegas but hadn't used them since I moved here. I receive emails from them every once in a while. I looked on their website before I left and found a 15 percent for service. I was happy! Also, online you can schedule your appointment. I had an appointment that was suppose to end at 150. So I scheduled mine for two. My appointment ran late so I arrived around 210. The gentleman was talking with a customer when I arrived. Then it was my turn. I told him my problem and that I had an appointment at two. He looked flustered. I am not sure why. While I was talking with him a maintenance guy walks out from the maintenance bay. He interrupts our conversation. He asks the guy if he had the keys to the car. He said no that the female customer had given the keys to him. The maintenance guy looks annoyed. Then looks in his pocket and finds the key that the customer had given him. Never apologizes for interrupting. I come to find out that he is the Regional Manager and runs five states or something like that. I noticed their were customers waiting so I wasn't sure if they would be able to get to my car right away. They did! Right away a maintenance guy named Mike took my car. He diagnosed it and said I needed a new windshield washer power thing. I kinda knew that and knew it was going to be expensive. That is why I waited around seven months to get it fixed! The visit took me two hours. Others customers were having a lot longer wait. I had too wait for a part. I have to say my visit was great. They did forget to rotate my tires but thats ok. They didn't charge me. I knew I should have reminded him. I told you the manager just seemed out of it. Other customers not so much. One guy needed two tires and had waited hours!!!!! The regional manager put another car in front of his. No one knew why. Even the manager was confused. Tried to tell the regional manager " this guys car is next." And the regional manager chewed him out. I wish I had names. While sitting there I found out the guy had called to make sure there wasn't a wait. He was told on the phone their was no wait. The lady sitting next to me was so nice. She had them check her alternator and battery. She had some lights come on that day. And I think she said she had a hard time getting it started. It ended up being the battery. The manager didn't even try to sell her with another one. It was like he just wanted her to leave. But she wanted another battery. Even if this one had a warranty. She said time is money. I totally understand. When I worked I would rather get something fixed then have to mess with a warranty. Now that I am retired I have the time to mess with warranty. She also had children to pick up. Once Mike the mechanic was done with my car I got him on my new friends car. This guy is great. The manager rang me out. It ended up being $179 after coupon. He let me give my coupon to the battery lady, which was nice of him. I asked of course! The regional manager description is passive aggressive. He offered everyone a drink that was in the waiting room. Honestly a drink wasn't going to make up for this guys wait!!!! He also took a woman's rim to her car. Telling her how nice he was. He didn't do that for everyone. He felt bad for her. Huh? I was thinking "Are you flirting?" I wasn't sure. It was weird. I will visit this location again. I like Mike the mechanic. I really need to give this place five stars. I came in from my Kia dealership needing a battery replaced, and, like most dealerships, they will charge you a lot for their proprietary products. I asked if I could buy a battery separately and have it installed, but they also let me know about the installation fee. Needless to say, I did a bit of research. So, going into this particular store, I was greeted in a very friendly manner. The gentleman at the service desk was more than happy to assist me. He introduced me to J.D. and Tylor at the service center, and they were equally as friendly and ready to help me out. They gave me two offers on batteries that were comparable to my dealership's quality, and even installed it for free! I also found out that my mom is a pep boys customer, and now, I am one too. I have taken my personal vehicles to Pepboys at NW Exp. For several years. Without exception, they keep our family vehicles in "tip-top" condition without spending a fortune. The staff is professional (Tyler and Victor) work hard to ensure I receive the best deal possible. On my daughter's Prius, just to replace the headlight bulb - according to the dealer (and even examples of YouTube) - it appears you must completely take off the front grill. But a Pepboy's - they manage to get their arms within the small place to insert a "new" bulb. read more

I used to love this place. I have had all good experience until the other day. I have been a customer for a long time. I had an appointment and when I got there. I checked in and the guy was like I hope you are leaving the car here. Wait what? According to your website if you schedule an appointment then it will be 30 mins. The gentlemen told me he was one man down and that he is several hours behind. If you are several hours behind and one man down you should call the people that have an appointment and let them know. I drove during my lunch hour for this appointment and basically wasted my time and gas. He did offer to reschedule but I wasn't going to drive all the way out here for an oil change. Awesome customer service! I called ahead to see if they had tires for my vehicle, the guy on the phone was super patient while I tried to scrambled to figure out the specifics about my car. When we got there he showed us some tires to choose from and explained the current promotions that might apply to our purchase. We explained we had a plane to catch in a bit and he made sure we got out car BEFORE the quoted finish time! When I first went to this location last week to get my bearings changed on my car they were more than helpful and considerate. I was asked to call in the day before Christmas to make sure the part that was needed for my car, they had in stock for my appointment on Saturday was available. Given the holiday rush I forgot to do so it showed up for my appointment this morning like scheduled only to find out they didn't have the part. I was told that I should have called them to find out beforehand. I'm sorry but I feel as if you know a customer is coming in for a specific car repair, you the mechanic, you the shop, should be the one in charge of making sure that part is in stock. Now I'm having to drive in an unsafe vehicle to the other side of town to a location that actually has the part I need. read more

Took my vehicle in for a stalling problem and listed the symptoms and went off to work. Three days, a lot of hassle and confusion later I get my vehicle back paying not for the original problem I paid to be diagnosed but another problem they said they found. The diagnostics I paid for didn't even cover everything they said so I left not even knowing if my problem was solved. After getting a second opinion I found the work PepBoys said they did to find my original issue was not done. All the bolts and ground wires were still attached and the bolts showing no movement at all. The mechanics lied, did not fix my problem but 'found' another possible issue and decided to charge me for that as well. 3 days of lies and I'm done with this unprofessional bunch of liars. We'll see if the head office is professional enough to fix this VERY unsatisfied customer. read more

I went in for a right headlight being out and after placing bulb after bulb in the socket, I changed the socket. That still did not work and after a week of messing with it, I called numerous places. Took it to another place since they were the only ones to call back and look at it, but couldn't find where the problem was. Called Pep Boys, then a few other places and decided on Pep Boys since their diagnostic fees were cheap. The white coat guys were outstanding and I have dealt with them numerous times. Once they brought the car in, I went to look for the Haynes Manual to my car. According to the diagram, it looked like the fog light relay had to do with the short, but I don't got any fog lights. Cody the electronics guy got in there and ran through the same diagnosis as the other place. Then Ben said "This is the first time I've ever seen him lift a car for electronics." Thinking the worst, I was hoping to go in and the way he said "Get some safety glasses" made me think the worst. Come to find out, it looked like spaghetti with the wiring harness being cut and poorly put back together. So he said it'd be an hour to put it all back together. Down off the lift it came, then back up it went. Service was complete and the damage was $149. I got in the car, proceeded to leave and all of the sudden I had to go back in. I asked them, "What did you do to my car?!" The light is now on, but there were other systems down that now work and one of those was my windshield wiper spray motor and now I can get my windshield clean. I got a lot more than I bargained for from that one repair vs trying to purchase the components and all it was causing the issue was broken wires from the wiring harness. read more

The service to my car was excellent. The customer service, however, was severely lacking. I brought my car in at 10:30am and was told that by 1:30pm it would be done. It was not done till 4:30! They told me it was going to be done by 2:30 and 3:45 within that time frame, so I sat and waited all day. So frustrating. Even worse, I asked them what was taking so long and they said the mechanic was having issues. I look outside and my car was not even in the shop. I was the first person there that morning for tire work, but for some reason, they thought it was okay to move my car off the line. I have never been treated so poorly by an automotive shop. I have gotten my oil changed here before with no problems so it seemed like a no brainer for me to set another online appointment. I arrived at the store, gave my name and the individual I talked to had no idea I even had an appointment. Fine. He checked the system and found my information and priced out my oil changed. I signed up for a $19.99 oil change with coupon but the service I selected was invalid for my car and everything rang up to $93. When I addressed the fact that I selected everything based on prompts from their system for my specific car, the response I got was, "That's the computer's fault." Unnecessarily disrespectful. No one bothered to even call and let me know the situation before I drove there for this appointment. It would've been helpful to know this ahead of time. Needless to say, I left without a much needed oil change because of horrible customer service and a lack of responsibility on their part to even acknowledge that the system the customer sees doesn't even match their internal one. I had a horrible experience trying to deal with the service department at the pep boys on memorial road. In okc So i called their corporate office and filed a complaint. The manager of pep boys on north west expressway called me in response to my complaint. She gave me the price that their web site listed which is all i wanted. I had 4 tires installed today an oil change and a brake inspection. All completed promptly and curtiously at the store on northwest expressway. It was well worth my time to drive 20 miles each way out of my way to get treated like i was wanted and appreciated as a costomer. thank you to the manager, service department and service techs for a job well done. read more
