Do not ever go to this place. I went and got my car after 3 days of sitting. They are liars and scammers. Meanwhile I took my car to Mr. Tire told him what's going on with that store. He pulled my vehicle in as soon as I got there !! They lied and said Silver Rock never reached out when I was in contact with them the whole time I knew on Tuesday at 1 PM my repairs would be covered besides the left front tire because they asked Pepboys several times to send them a video. So I called Silver Rock and let them know what they were saying and so conveniently After I talked to Silver Rock, Ray called and said at 6pm saying it was covered they just reached out. Then lied to me saying it's being worked on But told Silver Rock they never even got the part. I clearly have proof of what Silver Rock is saying. It wouldn't have been a problem if Pepboys's communicated like Mr. tire did! All pep boys wants is your money they can't even be honest and tell you the truth just say we didn't get the part. A negative star rating would be the most accurate representation of my experience this week. Went to have a stud put back onto my wheel, as the place that rotated my tires broke off the stud. They will remain unmentioned because they fessed up and told me that they made a mistake while offering to reimburse for the repair. Dropped off my car on Sunday, 3/24, and was told that to put a stud back on the wheel, it would be about 90 minutes and cost me $120. Figured that that would not be a big deal so I got picked up and went to lunch. Got a call back when at lunch from said Pep Boys location and was told that they put the key in wrong for the labor and that the entire job would cost me $530 instead. So I just said, "OK, get it done." So they called me when it was done and I paid for it. Went back to the first place from the day before, and true to their reputation, the place that broke the stud off from my wheel offered to pay for it. But the Manager there called Pep Boys in Wilkins Township and said that this should not happen again, the massive "increase" in labor costs. Now I have a week or more to get the the reimbursement from the first shop. It's little wonder why Pep Boys in Wilkins Township's parking lot is so empty. Yesterday, got in my car, pressed start, and nothing happened but a click! It was the holiday weekend, and I had scheduled myself to work looking forward to that time and a half pay increase! I was mortified! Called the dealer and they said up front that it would be a 180.00 just to evaluate and they couldn't do anything until Tuesday. I called the warranty company and they said my warranty had expired, but it took me an hour of phone calls to get that answer! When I saw that Pepboys was open on Saturday it was super easy to schedule an appointment on Saturday morning. I had signed up with AAA but they said that I couldn't use it until September 6th and if I wanted a tow now it would cost around 126.00. I was surprised to find out that PepBoys had it's own towing/road service. The price was less that AAA. In fact all the costs were way less expensive than the dealer. The whole process was flawless. I was kept informed of everything on my phone via text messages. I knew the exact moment the driver would be at my house and he even called when he was close. When we got to the Pepboys in Monroeville I was checked in immediately. They called me within 20 minutes what the problem was and how much it would cost. They told me it would be 2 hours, but it only took 1/2 hour. I will definitely go to PepBoys again anytime I need serviced. It was a positive experience from start to finish!!! I wish that I could give 0 stars. BEWARE!!!!!! They just inspected my vehicle. and put the tire back on incorrectly. It did 1000 dollars worth of damage when the tire began to fall off while driving. They took no responsibility, and I would not let them fix it because the money was not even the main issue. Lives were at stake because of their mistake. This Pep Boys is a HUGE fraud ring. I went in two days in a row to get an inspection, the first day i went in good faith and they informed me that i needed to replace all four of my tires and fill the oil up. they quoted me $2200 dollars and i let them know i would get it done somewhere else. so far nothing sounded the alarms of what would happen next. the next day i went in very happy to pass my inspection and emissions test and out of the blue they came up to me and told me that i needed to pay $1300 to replace all four break pads and rotors or i will fail inspection. i later learned that my brake pads were good enough to pass inspection. the craziest part is that their power went out during this and they threatened to call the police if i leave and get an inspection somewhere else. i left got a good inspection somewhere else and came back to pep boys when there power came back on and paid for an inspection and emissions test full price after they tried twice to price gauge me two days in a row with separate people and different reasons on my inspection. i bought this vehicle one year ago and the other place i went to the person there used to work at pep boys and he laughed and said that's exactly why i left. so i hope this is a good testament to save whoever is the next potential victim in pep boys next inspection fraud ring that they are operating (: read more

You'll contact their corporate number NUMEROUS times and maybe even get a call from "the director of the company" promising you a check you'll never receive!!!! I took my car to the Monroeville location in June and STILL have not received any compensation that I was promised by the "director" of this TERRIBLE company!!!! I set out to buy 2 new tires for my Nissan Altima. The price of the tires themselves was comparable to other places. That is the one good thing I can say about my experience at Pep Boys, the rest was disappointing at best. I brought my vehicle to get two new tires, as the ones on the rear had been replaced two months ago. I wanted the front tires replaced then rotated to the rear. 20 minutes into my vehicle being in the garage, an attendant comes out and informs me that 2 bolts were stuck, and if they broke it would be $100 plus tax (parts and labour) each to replace the broken studs. I have replaced studs on a car before, and those bolts are only $5-$10 apiece, so I was looking at up to $180 for labor. I asked where the offending bolts were located, thinking that if the stuck bolts were just on the back then I would just skip the rotation and simply replace the front tires as planned. I was told no, there was one bolt on the front tire, and one on the back. Which essentially ensured that I would be on the hook for at least $100 extra. When I stated that I could do the repair on my own, they told me no, that it was a liability issue and the only way I could leave the premises with even one broken stud would be via tow truck. While I understand the liability thing i still didn't have potentially $200 dollars extra to risk. I told them never mind about installing them, just place the 2 new tires in the trunk and I will go to the place that installed the tires last time to check and see if there was indeed an issue. It then took 20 additional minutes for me to get my car back, which seemed like a long time to place two tires into a trunk and drive it out of the garage, especially since there was only one other customer ahead of me at the time. When I arrived at my usual tire place, I explained to them the situation the associates at Pep Boys said my tires were in. They allowed me to watch from the window as they attempted to remove the bolts. All of the bolts, repeat ALL OF THE BOLTS, came off with no issues whatsoever. I can't help but feel this was a tactic they use to bilk extra money out of people. Given their customer base, they should be ashamed of themselves. As I'm concerned, they tried to rip me off over double what my original bill was to be. Oh and also, they were going to charge me double for mounting and balancing that my place did. Also, when I attempted to post this review on their website, i received an email saying that I was not to mention customer service in my review. So i have decided to post this review wherever they don't try to obscure an honest review. In conclusion if you want to be lied to and ripped off, by all means please go to Pep Boys. For those of you who value integrity and your hard earned money, skip this "business". read more

I came in to have some tires put on a set of wheels simple job right. not for these guys they took the liberty of throwing away my tires which was not what i asked then they mounted one of the tires in the wrong direction. Furthermore none of them had the common sense to tell me that they had broken a tire pressure sensor and put a regular valve stem in its place as if i would not notice. In all seriousness i don't think there mechanics really care about anything i use to work there and i tell you what complete garbage pay the guy at Mc Donolds makes more. Most of them just get paid minimum wage to work on your car have that in mind. Then Pepboys charges me 60 dolllars for there shit job that only about 7.25 went to the actual mechanic... no wonder he just slapped it together corporate greed at its best. I have only gone here for oil changes and tires. But so far all the oil has ended up back in my car and none of my tires have had problems. Wait time --- can be bad on a busy day but I feel like you get that at at a"superstore." My oil changes are cheap here around 30$, I have a small car, tire prices were as good as sears, or costco. Overall they work pretty fast, one time the line backed up at the service desk but I belived the guy who told me they were short in that area that day he was very polite about it. THIS PLACE IS FRAUD !! SAVE URSELF!! I went for flat tyre check and they said that I need to buy a new tyre, so I did, 150$. Left my car there they said they will call once its ready. Three ours later I got a call that my Car's break pad are totally gone and its dangerous to drive with that, new will cost 400$. I had no option but to say, ok do it. I went to pick the car when it was ready. While picking up, there was ABS warning sign on the dash. I informed then about that immediately, they said its post 6PM we cant work on it now. Please come tomorrow, I went the next day at 5 PM, they said we cant check on it today please come prior to 5 PM tomorrow. I went again the next day at 3 PM. The guy on the reception told me it will take 120$ to check what is the problem I had to argue with him for 15 mins to explain it happen when your mechanic was working on it. They checked it and said its a bad news, its going to charge 400$ to fix it. When I said this problem was not there before and this is first time its happening when your mechanic work on the Car and they had replaced the breaks pads as well. He said ITS JUST A COINCIDENCE !!... WOW, I couldn't believe it. I was so frustrated and irritated by this time, what kind of professionalism is that ? they are seriously conning their customers. I have never seen such pathetic service and response. They suggested me to drive with this warning sign on as "ITS NOT A BIG DEAL". My car felt just fine driving up until last week. Last week I took it in to Pep Boys #225 in Monroeville PA for inspection. They claimed that the struts needed to be replaced and they made the repairs and passed my car for inspection. As soon as I got the car back, it felt weird. It was shaking at low speeds and vibrating at high speeds, which it had never done before in all the time I've owned it. At first I thought that maybe the new parts were just settling and it would go away in a day or two. But after a couple days, my ABS and traction control lights came on. I took it back to Pep Boys #225 to see what was wrong and now they're claiming I need a new axel and tie rod. So I'm confused on two things here. How is it that my car never shook before I took it in and shook as soon as they gave it back? And if my car needs all of this work now, only 4 days after they passed it for inspection, then HOW DID IT PASS INSPECTION?!? Either something happened while it was in the shop or this is something that's been a problem for awhile (which I find hard to believe) and they didn't check when they did the inspection. But when I went in to talk to them about it, they were very rude and refused to explain it to me. I can't believe the complete and utter lack of professionalism or respect for their customers. But this isn't even the first time they gave me back a vehicle that wasn't safe to drive. A few years ago I went to this same shop for major repairs and they didn't reconnect my brake line. I didn't make it far before my brakes failed and I had to be towed back to the shop. At least that time they owned up to their mistake and fixed it. But now they're refusing to even explain to me how this happened to my car! read more

I told the other place "no thanks" and went to Pep Boys to confirm and/or buy a battery. The guy at Pep Boys was honest and told me my battery was fine. Normally Rob is there to help us, he always greets us, takes his time to help us so we don't feel rushed - no matter how busy they are, and pays attention to the history of service. My wife and I don't feel pressured with upsells and have actually been told services requested weren't needed from time to time. We normally don't make an appointment but when they are able to work us in they get the work done same day. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Went in for an appt for 4 new tires and one of them wasn't in. Eventually got all the tires and 15min after driving the sensor light came on. Due to their negligence, they sent me home while 8 months pregnant with a 2yr old with a tire pressure of 40 when it should have been 30, which is UNSAFE! Paige the manager claimed it takes 24hrs for the tires to adjust (which is a LIE, it won't adjust that much, and even so I drove it for 24hrs before realizing how high the tire pressure was and the light was still on) and also claimed the sensor doesn't come on for too much air in tires. She wouldn't give me a fair discount to compensate my time nor even acknowledge their negligence and UNSAFE practice. Waiting to hear back from corporate this week. read more

I have been taking all my vehicles to this store for years. They have always treated me well until this past fall. I made an appointment for an oil change and state insp. Origoinal quote...$125.00. (Reasonable). They told me I needed a Tie-rod replaced. Of course, I would also need a front end alignment. Parts & labor now jumped to $525.00. (Ouch!). Gave them the OK for repairs. 45 minutes later, my car was finished. (Really? Past front end alignments have taken 1 1/4 hrs and that didn't include changing the Tie-rod). When I got the car back, oddly enough, there was no paperwork for the alignment. When I talked to the service manager, he told me the printer for the ft end machine as broken. Mechanic came in 2 minutes later and said the same thing. Coincidence? I think not. They ripped me off for an alignment & I had no way to prove it. read more

After being told it would be a "little wait" I came to find out that translated into two hours. I feel that they are very honest, they do not try to upsell, and if you sign up for their rewards club you receive discount coupons, and "cash" rewards that help bring down the final cost of having your vehicle repaired. Dropped the car overnight for its inspection. They called me next morning to tell me I needed new wiper blades and they were having problems with the parking brake and back windshield wiper. They quoted me a price and I gave them the OK to start. They told me they'd call back with an update. 6 hours later, I called after not hearing anything and was treated with "we're you expecting your car back today?" They then explained the technician needed was not there. When I told them it would have been nice to know this earlier, I got a very robotic sorry. They called me next afternoon to say the car was ready. I couldn't pick it up till later. When I did, they still had there dirty mat in the driver side and I was locked out of my radio. When I asked about it, a passing technician said since the powers was cut off someone had to call Honda to get the code. They tried but the office was closed and once again I got the robotic sorry. Why didn't they do that in the 3 hours when the work was "finished"? So I had to take it to a Honda dealership the next day to fix it myself. To top it off, I'm pretty sure they didn't put new wiper blades even though they charged me because I used them to wash my windshield and it left more streaks then before I took the car in. When the inspection on my car was out I decided to try a new place. I was skeptical to come to this location because of the mixed reviews I've seen on here. I am so glad I brought my car here! The service was friendly, helpful, and fast! The prices were the best I've seen in a long time. I got way more work for my money then at similar places I've tried in the past. I had my 9 month old son with me which is often a challenge. The customer lounge had a small table with a toy that helped keep him entertained. The women's restroom had a changing station also! I will definitely be making this my regular place for anything my cars need! read more
