Under no circumstances should you bring your car here to get inspected. If you know what your car needs fine. If not take it somewhere else. The people here are crooks. My car needed new brakes so i took it to get inspected, they said I needed 4 need brakes (front and back) and that the front rooters were damaged and needed new ones. Luckily my friend was with me, saw through their BS and told me. We took it too his friends body shop..... The truth? It only needed new front brakes. All the rooters were fine and the back brakes were only 20% used. They basically wanted to charge me an extra $500 for stuff i didn't need.... Who knows if they would even give you new ones! After a horrific experience at Tires Plus in sunrise, this place was a BREATHE of fresh air. Not only did they take care of me quickly, efficiently, and honestly, but the two men (I wish I remembered their names because they were such a pleasure; one worked in the back and the other sir worked the desk) were friendly, and helped relieve all the anxiety I had the last few hours of desperately trying to figure out how and where to service my car. At the end of the day, I had an alternator belt issue which killed my battery (as I expected) and they had it in and out within the hour. I will definitely be coming here every time I'm in the area. My car is still there for 3 weeks now. My car didn't start in the morning so I towed it to pep boys in sun rise, I thought it needs a new starter, they told me that my starter is fine and my problem is that my time belt broke and most likely the engine valves is damaged and it's going to cost me 1900$ that was a terrible news because I rely on my car to go to work and every day without a car cost me alot to to work. I decided to take my car to Kia service center instead since I had a new time belt in the car so pepboys charged me for the diagnose which was a wrong diagnose. Then I changed my mind and said to myself maybe my time belt just broke and they are speaking the truth and I told them to go ahead and work on the car, they call me the next day and told that my car needs a starter, clutch, and fly wheel and they don't have the flywheel and they will order it online it will cost me 320$ for the flywheel i told them that I will order it myself instead because it will cost me less than half that price, first I ordered the wrong one because I didn't know how it looks like then I had to order another one after I saw the old part, now that part had arrived they are telling me there is a small piece is missing and they are looking for it. I was able to make an appointment on line for an oil change,...12pm was time I chose. I honestly walked in, my car was taken in,...and while I shopped at Best Buy, my car was finished and I received a text letting me know. I never get this lucky! YAY ME! When I paid, I wanted to tip the gentleman who worked on my oil change, but the guy behind counter said they are not allowed tips. I felt bad for that, being its my $ and I wanted to thank him. Policy on that should change. I asked what the gentlemans name was who did do my oil change and it was William. I love this pep boys in particular because I've been coming here since 2015. I have witnessed many people complaining about the prices of things. Owning a car is expensive. Taking care of it should be simple, read the damn owner's manual for maintenance schedule. If you only do oil changes past their recommendations, and you think that It is all you need to do, then that's your fault. I have seen someone complain about about parts and that they shouldn't have to pay for it because it "wasn't their fault." Most times it's a result of carelessness on their part. Anyway, the people at the service desk are usually awesome, Maistel has been superb in every interaction I've had. Ajay has made unfortunate tire blowouts seem simple, since I was freaked Out and whatnot he told me about all the options for cheap. I now only go cheap for spares, which is something I learned from the service team. And also when I walk in to get any odd trinkets or tools Zane always explains which option is suitable for my needs, regarding nearly every question I have. I'll keep coming here! read more

I rarely write reviews but I had a particularly bad experience getting an oil change at this location. I had an appointment that I was admittedly 10 minutes late to. I was there for almost 2 hours! If I had known it would take that long I would never have given them my keys. On top of that, they just did the oil change, no air in my low tires. And the next day after driving from Ft. Lauderdale to the Lower Keys at night in the rain I discovered that they didn't close my hood, it was latched but not fully closed. I will definitely never go back to this location! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE! I took my car here about two weeks ago for an oil change and went to pick it up and they said that my power steering fluid was dirty (which I've never heard of) and my air filter was dirty. I said that I'll take car of it myself and took my car home. I asked my dad to buy me an air filter (he works for a Napa dealer and got one for 6$) and I changed it literally in five seconds and it honestly wasn't even that dirty at all. I drove it around for a couple days and kept hearing a really strange noise from the side of my car where the air filter was located and thought that I may have f***ed up putting it in. So I unclipped the housing where the filter was, pulled it out and upon further inspection I found two cigarette butts and a bunch of leaves in the small hole underneath the filter! What in the actual F**K!? I think these a**holes tries to get me to bring my car back saying, "I'm hearing a strange noise" and charge me an arm and a leg to 'fix' whatever problem it may have been. I want to start off with WOW!! Went to this location with a dead battery from my H2, DREADING the thought of laying down some serious jack for an over sized super Hummer battery. Farid, the store manager efficiently did a battery check and determined that it was in fact DEAD. He then without any prompting from me at all, checked to see if the battery was still under warranty. Today is 8/18/13 and the 3 year warranty expired on 7/31/13 UGGGHHH!! But wait! Farid (the Manager) came to the rescue and gave me a new battery because he felt I was close enough after 3 years. So I bought a new, slightly used (11 yrs) truck. Though it checked out well on the computer, it's the little things you need to replace that popped up after the sale was final. Going to gmc for a door lock actuator would have cost $347 but here it was $47! Likewise, the other little things would have added quickly but for Pep Boys. I decided to get new tires as well. I ordered them on line and made an appointment. I waited in the waiting room for quite some time when the manager stepped in and told me that the tires were in yesterday but they were missing now. Someone had to go to another store to pick some up. Well, after a long wait and all was said and done, they didn't charge for the mounting and balancing!!!! Only for the tires themselves! Worst mechanics ever. I go to get my car fixed for one thing and more things become a huge problem. I spent $1400 for a leak repair plus other thing, not even 24 hours later and my car shut off as I was driving. Said it was another issue and paid $400 for that to be fixed. But wait! There's more. Then they tell me my car is fixed by calling me, I go and guess what? My car wasn't fixed and the stupid mechanic left 2 HOURS AGO and then went on a vacation. You couldn't tell me this BEFORE I sent my car to you? It literally will take 5 minutes to tell me but nope. So anyway, I get my car back and guess what? Power steering is leaking right after I see you so it's as if you either you have twitches and end up leaving holes everywhere or you just have no concept of being a mechanic. But the best part of it all? My car is STILL leaking coolant but at this point it's pouring. After a week of trying to get a simple trailer hitch installed, we have decided to never go to this store again. We dealt with Ajay all week and after multiple promises to call us back with an order or an appointment, he never once called us; we had to call him. When I mentioned he had not called as promised his response was that it was his day off...he probably shouldn't have said he would call us then. Finally got the part put on Friday and when I left, I looked to see if the electrical was attached; it was not. Went back into the store and asked. The mechanic said it wasn't in the part box. I would have thought they might have mentioned that??? Who puts a hitch on and doesn't put the electrical on? So then they promised they would overnight the part and call back right away to have it put on. No call. We waited two days due to a holiday and still no call from Ajay. We had to call him and he said to bring the car in anytime after 11:00 and ask for him. I got there at 12:30 and he was out to lunch...didn't mention he would be gone. They said it would take an hour and a half to put it on and Ajay said it was a simple matter of plugging it in. Guess not. I took the part and left. Had to search for my car since they didn't put it back in the parking lot but left it right outside the service door. Parting shot Pep Boys? Do not use this Pep Boys on Sunrise Blvd. -- they don't care about the customer and not sure what they are doing out in the service area but things are very sloppy. read more

Ten minutes waiting for a manager to help me. Then she couldn't hardly speak English! She began to answer the question I had asked........it was then that I quickly found out that she was DUMBER THAN A BAG OF ROCKS! The words that came out of her mouth were gibberish in relation to the questions asked! Will this work on my car? "Oh yes this will work on all brands and models of any carmaker" well on the package in big letters it says it will work on select years of fords and mercury only. " oh no they just put that on there for advertising reasons". How do I find out which years and models fords it will work on, because I do have a ford. "Oh just buy it and see if it works on your car" ok if it doesn't work I can bring it back? " no unfortunately this item is non returnable once opened". Then how can I see if it will work on my car? "Oh these work on all brands and models of any carmaker" I see and the big red circled warning "this product for select years and models of fords and Mercury cars" is just here for advertising reasons? "Oh yes that is correct". And no returns? " no , no returns on that item". Is there a guide or a place I can look up my car to see if it will work for my car? If I could give this location zero stars I would. I am going to do my best to deter anyone from visiting this location. I went in for a battery replacement. They were supposed to install buffers on the terminals to prevent corrosion which my 2005 Infiniti had a serious issue with! Three weeks later I am driving and lights inside my car started to flicker and I was getting warning on the dash. I pulled over on I-95 and the car would not start. The mechanic never secured the battery in place, the buffers were not installed, and the terminal was completely disconnected. I almost got into a car accident because of PEP BOYS' NEGLIGENT INSTALLATION. Don't be a victim; stay away from this location! read more

If I could give a negative star I would. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS STORE. Lied, stole, did the work incorrectly and customer service throughout the whole ordeal was miserable. Anyone you seriously rated this store well is a #troll and is paid to help the stores abysmal rating. Here is the story I wrote out to the Better Business Bureau: I brought my car in to have a tire replaced that had a nail in its side wall. All my tires were bought by this merchant and I was eligible for a deduction in cost since they were 1-2 years old with low mileage on them. When I was called back late in the day after dropping the car off right when the store opened, I was told by Javier (I believe) that I needed rear brakes (brake pads and calipers I came to find out later) and that they would cost around $330. I asked if there was any other options on pricing, if there were any discounts, or how badly I needed them. I was told I needed them, that there were "NO" other options on brakes. I proceeded to him and haw about the price and was repeatedly told that's all they could do. When the repair man could tell I was about to say no, he proceeded to mention a coupon online possibly for $40 off and that I did really need the brakes to be done. I reluctantly accepted and said I would be by to pick up the car when he said it would be ready. While printing out the coupon online I poked around the website and saw that there was not "Only ONE" option on brakes, but a total of "FIVE" options ranging from $100-$330 and of course I was only quoted the highest price option and lied to about there being no other options. When I spoke to the repair man while picking up my car and telling him that it was inappropriate to lie to a customer, he's only excuse was if I got the cheapest option that I would be back in the store within three weeks complaining about the brakes. (1. He lied to me, 2. He tried to justify it, 3. Why would the store even have brakes that they do not endorse as an option) After a back and forth he brought the price down minimally, but he couldn't do anything else so I took the car. I drove the car home and it did feel as if the brakes were strong and tight. My car was not gliding as much when letting off the brakes so I figured well at least I received the good brakes. Nope. I drove the car to work the next morning about 10 miles and when I opened my car door after parking smoke was billowing out of guess what my brand new rear brakes. During the course of the day Pepboys tried to get me to pay for towing and I refused, then it took over 6 tries at different Pepboys towing companies to pick up my car by the end of the work day 4:30pm. I complained enough and demanded that they pay for a rental car, to which the manager Patrick agreed in writing, but have not paid for yet. Unfortunately not the end of the story. The car was towed back to a Pepboy's closer to where I live and I was told the car was ready for pick up. I talked to the head Mechanic Bob, who was very nice and should be commented for trying to resolve the manner courteously. So I picked the car up in the morning and started my normal drive to work. After 5 minutes or less on the highway my car started violently shaking back and forth (when I got to about 55-60mph) and I immediately started to slow down and then my brakes started shaking (a different type of shaking) a bit as well. I did not know what was going on and was in the middle of morning traffic to work. When traffic eased and I got back up to 60mph my car did the same type of side to side shaking. I called Bob and Pepboys and he immediately thought my balance was off and told me to come on in to fix it. I was already close to work and had spent the previous day at work on the phone with Patrick from the Plantation Pepboys trying to get my car towed away and fixed. So I brought the car back to Bob after work (I drove slowly on the way back but it did violently shake again when I reached 55mph) and I stood with another mechanic as he balanced my tires and explained what exactly that entailed. After finding out that the front two tires were multiple ounces off balance and the mechanic saying to me "wow someone was really pissed off the day they worked on your car" I asked him to balance the back two tires as well and tipped him for it. Those back tires were also off multiple ounces and he was shocked that I even was on the highway. To top it off $5-7 dollars in quarters was stolen from my car between when I watched it be towed away Monday late afternoon from work and when I picked it up from the Davie Pepboys. Again I cannot point to any person and I did receive good enough customer service from Bob at the Davie Pepboys, but again it was another huge disappointment in the string of horrible events that occurred with Pepboys. The balancing fixed the violent side to side shaking, but I now feel the car shaking a little bit when I press on the brakes while going anything above 30mph. I will not be taking read more
