Do not come here. Long wait times to be helped and they rip you off. I came here for an oil change a few months ago. I had also wanted to get my headlights replaced since I could not manage to pull the headlight out myself since the socket was rusted and messed up. They told me the total cost with oil change and the light would be roughly seventy bucks. Fine. When I paid at the end, they charged a labor charge of 80 dollars. What a rip off! I made a Yelp just so I could leave this one review. I made an appointment with Pep Boys to get a few things done on my vehicle. I needed new CV Joints and my car was unable to read one of my tires. I drove an hour to this location only for them to tell me they cannot do the joints because they do not have a technician. I feel as though that's something you'd want to mention while making an appointment and wasting peoples time. I then asked if they could at least check the tire. The gentleman said my car tire was low and needed air. I asked if the tire was losing air then wouldn't it be best to replace the tire so I don't constantly have to put in air? And he shrugged me off. Then a different guy came out and said the tires are all completely fine and so are the sensors. Then a minute later he says the sensors are bad but we can replace those, great right! No, then the original gentlemen comes back in and tells me that cannot do it. It's too late for me, but save your time AND your money and take your business elsewhere. A brief overview of my experience follows: I took my car in for new tires after making an appointment over the phone. Turns out, the man I spoke with on the phone didn't actually schedule the appointment or enter any of my information. That turned the 20 minute wait into a 40 minute wait. I picked up my car and 3 days later, my tire pressure warning light came on and one of my tires was low. This set into motion a total of 4 visits and countless hours spent at Pep Boys. After the 4th visit, I took my car to the dealership where I was notified that a missing piece near the valve stem was causing the constant slow leak. Thankfully, they were able to fix the problem on the first try. I will NEVER bring my car back to Pep Boys and would encourage others to stay away. read more

Unprofessional and rude counter service. Would never again take my vehicle to this location. Refused to take responsibility for tire order mistake. After an hour wait for scheduled wheel alignment and tire purchase and installation, contacted me by phone and told me my online order was was wrong and it was my fault. When I tried to explain that it was their web site and followed instructions I was hung up on. Went to pick up my vehicle, service person Patricia first denied hanging up on me and the said I used profanities with her. Continued to blame me for mistake. Spoke with Assistant Manager Calvin. No apologies or solutions offered. I am a former auto shop teacher and have worked as a professional mechanic.in my 66 years, this is the shoddiest service attitude I have ever witnessed at a repair facility. My experience with these folks wasn't well. Made a appointment at 8am to meet one of there mechanics to only find out that he was off that day, so I needed to see the other mechanic that didn't start until 9am, they recommend work that's not needed, total waste of time. Charged my money for something I already knew. Never shop with these folks!!! Dumb and Dumber , but they got my money. Good luck needing something done the master mechanic is never there or when there propped up on the counter. Made 3 appointment before I was lucky enough to have my car checked. The kid at the counter needs to not be there poor communication skills and irritating. David is the only competent employee in the store. Cross my fingers my front end doesn't go out until I get it to the dealer who gave a cheaper. Wish I could give a negative rating. I went into Pep Boys 3 weeks ago for an oil change and asked them to check my tire pressure. The attendant told me I needed new tires and he was correct, so I ordered 2 new tires. It's been 3 weeks now and my tires have not come in, my low tire pressure light is still on, and now my oil change light is on and it's only been 3 weeks. If you want your vehicle to stop functioning while driving on the highway at the legal speed (70mph) after your car received maintenance...Then go to Pep Boys! I have spent $344.47 in parts. Took my vehicle to a Nissan dealership and find out that all my parts worked on by Pep Boys were no good. Not to mention I am spent $443.06 on a rental car...still waiting for my car to be fixed! Also they will order top notch parts for your car as if your driving a 2015 vehicle..my car is only valued at $1300.00. And if you're a woman...be prepared to be taken advantage of! Yes some women may not know too much about the mechanic side of vehicle...that doesn't mean they should be taken advantage of. I have filed a compliant with Corporate and the Better Business Bureau!! #1 Don't tell me what tire size is "safe" based off your computer when I have the owners manual out and looking at the door jamb to confirm. Pep Boys didn't build my vehicle. I'm going to buy what the manufacturer recommends. #2 I was an alignment technician at Tire Discounters in Ohio before I joined the military. You don't have to justify the "need" for an alignment with new tires. I know all the techs do is beat on the heads until they give you a factory spec print out. #3 You don't know why I called for new tires. The have less than 5,000miles on them and two have busted belts. Hence why I asked if you road force them when balancing. I know techs that have worked there and left for poor shop/management practices. I'll put my automotive background against most people in that shop. I don't have access to a tire changer or balancer or I would gladly do it myself. The only person worth a damn in that building is Oscar. Will not recommend the maintenance department to anyone. read more

Terrible, slow and incompetent. Waited for 4 hours for them to change 4 tires. After all this they used improper wheel weights which rubbed on the calipers and made terrible noise. This resulted in having to spend another half day out of work while the problem was rectified. read more

We took our daughter's car to the shop on a Saturday morning. It was making a noise and we needed them to look at it to see if they could tell us what to do next. They kept it all day and never called, although they told us they would. I finally called and they told me it would be 1,300.00 and that it was her brakes. We agreed to have them fix it and were assured that they would call and we could pick it up Sunday at noon. They never called. I again called, and was told that they didn't know anything about the car or the paperwork or what needed to be done. They would look and call me back. They didn't call. I called and they said it would be the next car they worked on and that we could pick it up at 6:00. It was still on the rack when we went to pick it up. We had to wait another whole day, no one called. We picked it up on Tuesday, (two days after it was promised), paid 1,400. and guess what?? It still makes the same sound!!!! The car may have needed brakes, but they didn't even fix what we took the car in for. read more

I had AAA tow my car to Pep Boys at 8702 Abercorn Street on the evening of 8/31/12 due to brake trouble that suddenly emerged upon my wife and I arriving in Savannah for a Labor Day weekend getaway. We drove up from Miami, so encountering this issue so far away from home was a very unsettling experience to say the least. Fortunately, Pep Boys really helped resolve the issue the following day in the most professional manner. Specifically, I would like to commend Oscar Makepeace over in their service department. Someone who knows him had stopped to assist us shortly after we had broken down, and he suggested that we ask for Oscar once the car was dropped off there. I am so glad that we did. Every single time I called and asked to speak with Oscar, he was available and extremely helpful, keeping me updated on the status of the repair. He was sympathetic to our particular dilemma, and even went the extra mile to ensure we got a price on the service that was much lower than was initially quoted. Oscar went above and beyond with the highest quality of service and professionalism, thus demonstrating what a great asset he is to the company. Thank you so much, Oscar. I would also like to acknowledge the assistance of Will, the mechanic we spoke to when we picked up the car, as well as two other employees with whom I spoke on the phone the previous evening, when we had our car towed over there (I didn't get their names, though I wish I had). i took one of my cars for an oil change and replaced all 4 tires, they never reset the tpms, all the mechanic said was drive it for 15 miles and it'll reset. before i took it that light was not on. the following day i took my other car for an alignment and wiper blade change, i paid almost $40 for some rain x latitudes. they never replaced my wipers, my old wipers were left on. i called and all they did was laugh and make a stupid remark. not only do they take long to get your information but they have poor customer service skills. don't take your car there. they lie, they will try and add charges, then try 2 turn the tables and make it like you're the delusional one.  if you put your personal info on any papers get that document back cause all they do is ball it up and throw it away and lord knows what their intent is with it.   there was two other unsatisfied customers that also complained about them being very unprofessional. they're a  big joke and i will stay away from this and all other pep boys in the future. the worst automotive experience in my life. read more

My husband and I got a screw in our tire while on vacation and went here to get a simple plug put in. Very unfriendly , not very helpful and very slow. We left the tire with them and it took over 4 hours and they never called us to let us know it was ready. I don't recommend this place. I ordered a battery on-line from Pep Boys and opted for the free installation. I made an appointment for the following day. The website offered me an 11am appointment for the following day, so I took it. Thinking I'd pull in, they'd slap my battery in (a 10-15 minute job) and I'd leave, I showed up at Pep Boys Auto Service at 10:55am. There were 4 people waiting to be helped. There were 5 people in white shirts behind the desk all too busy to help anyone. There were also 2 mechanics behind the desk just standing around having conversation. 15-20 minutes went by before they helped anyone. A half an hour went by before I got helped. I then had to go through a vigorous car inspection that took another 15 minutes (just to get my battery installed). They checked the condition of my tires, the car body, the miles, etc.. Then, after another full hour of waiting, the service clerk (Sara) rudely says to me "This is not a waiting area. You need to vacate this area." All I was thinking was that she made me wait nearly an hour and a half and then gets rude to me. So I asked her how long it would be. She said my car was next up. Which did not answer my question. Had she told me how long it was going to be, I could have taken off and come back later. But she just left me hanging. So I just went outside and waited. It was another full hour before my battery was installed. Then, I had to wait in line for another 10-15 minutes just to check out. It took another 10 minutes to give me a check-out total. My on-line quote was $114.48, including taxes. Of course when they rang it up, it was over $30 more. After expressing my shock, they settled on $124 and change. They literally had no record of my on-line quote. I highly recommend if you buy a battery from Pep Boys, install the battery yourself. Save yourself the grief of a three-hour wait (that's with an appointment), rude service and overcharges. I will never do business with this company again. read more

Special thanks to Daniel (Speed shop) , Andrew (Sales) and Ceaser (Retail Manager) for my 2 hour parking lot light bulb change.They guys went above and beyond to change the low beam bulb on my 2013 Traverse. When Daniel rang me up he did not know that a simple bulb would result in him having to remove a panel, shift my air filtration system a series of unbolting of things but he Ceaser and Andrew went above and beyond. The entire time that they were working I told them that it I would take it to the shop but they insisted on fixing the light and would not let me stand out in the cold with them. Words can not express my gratitude for their hard work in the cold. If you ever have any automotive service needs I would strongly suggest that you seek out these three guys. I normally don't allow others to work on my car, but decided a simple battery change would be ok. Wrong. Apparently they left a tool on my intake manifold and closed the hood on it. I now have a bump in the middle of my hood sticking up. The mechanic didn't fess up and I didn't notice it until the lighting was right to see it tonight. He had to have known as there's no wrench there so he had to have opened the hood to retrieve his tool. I called them back and informed them, but frankly I don't want them touching my car again. read more

Service Manager went over and above what was necessary in order to take care of my car, and made sure that I knew how to check and add oil to my car just in case I can't stop in to have it done between oil changes. I am giving one start because there is not a zero start option. This is the worst mistake I have made in my life. The service is the worst nightmare ever! I took my car for a simple oil change and two weeks later I have to come back because the oil pan cover was falling...I took the car back to Pepboys and asked to fix the problem immediately....they refused to do it. Instead, I was treated like a criminal by one of the manager who accused me of trespassing...I was in shock. I have to call the police as the individual was starting to become violent and irrespecful. Today I called a lawyer and the corporate office to ask for someone to bring this place under control. I'm ashamed to admit that I don't usually take the time to leave reviews for products and services, although I use them a great deal before researching a purchase. However, I am a VERY loyal customer, and will tell everyone I know (and a lot of people I don't) about my experiences good and bad. I'm pretty understanding and low maintenence, even when unsatisfied, however my experience with Pep Boys has been so awful, I want as many people to know about it as possible. It isn't a matter of poor customer service or long wait times. Pep Boys has various systems in place to cheat their customers. I'm not sure how common this is industry wide. I can only speak about my own personal experience. I was initially satisfied bringing my SUV in for the occasional oil change. When I needed a front O2 sensor replaced, I thought it was odd that the woman at the counter tried to sell me a rear one as well, but that's business. When I needed to replace another part, I was quoted a price of over $400. I decided to see if I could replace it myself. The estimate did not list the name of the part (suprise suprise), so I bought a code scanner and found the part myself. It cost me less than $80 for the part and the scanner. It also took about 3 minutes for me to wiggle under the car, unplug the old part, plug in the new one and clear the code. I am NO mechanic. Charging a loyal customer over $400 for a $60 part (retail) and 5 minutes of work is an insult. After this I was done with Pep Boys. Today I go to change my own oil for the first time and discover that my oil pan plug is bolted on so tightly it is impossible to remove. They obviously don't want us attempting our own oil changes. I have tried everything. I will be returning one last time to have them replace the bolt. I will absolutely be crawling under my SUV in the parking lot to be sure that bolt is on properly. I will not leave until it is. This is unexcusable. Vandalizing our property for a quick buck. Lame. It really is senseless because they have lost potential lifetime customers. I'm a girly girl and I really perfer the convience of having a shop to do things like this for me. The only reason I wanted to change my own oil/ tires etc. is so that I know how to do it. know A LOT of young women like myself and I will DEFINETELY be spreading the word to all of my friends. dont take your car there they will rip you off. made an appointment on the net for saturday at 8am for diagnostic and repair. they didnt touch my car until sunday. received no calls from calvin about my vehicle. had to take uber 3 times to check on my car sunday car still not fixed. i told calvin i needed my car for work. i am a nurse in a hospital 16 hour shifts first weekend i had off in 6 weeks. came back on monday he told me i need a mass airflow sensor. frustrated i bought a new one fron autozone they didnt have the part paid 101.00. they charged me 122.00 for labor to unscrew 4 bolts and replace the sensor which took 15 minutes to swap out. he charged me a total of 208.00 and i still have the same problem with my car. again i told him that it wasnt the maf sensor prior to getting my car dianosed. he needs to be fired. no communication what so ever. calling bbb about there bad business pratices. read more

As someone who's worked customer service for a number of years, i understand a couple of things. I understand that certain services take time and there can be a wait time. I also understand that sometimes making appointments is necessary for to keep operations running smoothly. I get those things. However, when i make an appointment well ahead of time... For an oil change no less... And be told that i still have to wait an hour to an hour and 1/2... Theres something fundamentally wrong with that set up. My wait time actually ended up running to almost 2 1/2 hours, which is wildly unacceptable for someone who made and kept an appointment. This slides into the realm of unprofessional easily, and thats me being kind. And while i don't have high expectations for customer service during the wait (this isn't Disney, after all, and the wait times for anything at Disney are significantly preferable), i spent 2 hours after i returned from the nearby store waiting. I watched the sunset... And noticed that my car had still not been taken. And not a word from any of the employees. I would have accepted a "hi" or "how are you", as i understand that things are going on, but i was literally a ghost. Once my car was finally taken in and serviced (which took a grand total of a franky insulting 10 minutes, compared to my abysmal 2 1/2 hour wait) I left the store feeling tired over the whole experience. To be honest, the sole reason that i took it there, assuming my appointment would have actually been kept, was because i was not prepared to risk going over the mileage from my previous change... But im almost wondering if that was a mistake. Im only glad my coupon went through because theres no fathomable way i would have paid $40 for tonight's experience. As i said, i get that things happen... And thats okay, if the person on the other side of the counter at least attempts to keep me posted as im sitting there, wasting my time. I don't know if this is a normal thing... And partially because of tonight, i dont intend to find out for myself... But this cannot go overlooked. At least for the sake of your customers. Mediocrity cannot be the standard for any business, and waiting 2 1/2 hours after a scheduled appointment for a 10 minute service is the textbook definition of mediocre. read more

After work I took my SUV to Meineke to have my oil changed and have them check out a slow leaking tire. My tires weren't old and they ended up plugging a hole that they found and sent me on my way after I waited for over an hour. I left and took my pooch to the dog park and then stopped at the grocery store. When I left the grocery store, at 7:45pm I might ad, I noticed my "plugged" tire was nearly flat and I had a dog and frozen food that I needed to get home! Of course, at that hour the place that plugged my tire had long been closed. I called Pep Boys and they told me if I could get there by 8pm they would gladly help me. I want to personally thank Reggie Shellman for wonderful customer service and for staying late past closing time to help me and my pooch. They let my dog wait inside with me in the A/C while they replaced my tire and did so with a smile. I must have thanked Reggie 10 times to which he replied that he was merely doing his job and he was glad to help. I will never go back to Meineke again and I trust Reggie with my future tire needs. All of the gentlemen that stayed late to help me were beyond friendly and even came in to say hello to my pup. People have to realize that auto service places are never "in and out". The reviews about long lines and waits simply means to me that they are taking the time to do the job right for those that were in line before you. Hats off to Reggie and his team for a job well done. The price for my new tire was less than expected and the customer service provided to me at 8pm on a Tuesday night couldn't have been better. Huge waste of time and money. I took my car in around 4 pm to get an oil change and have the stating and charging system checked. The service advisor, Sarah, didn't seem to have much experience there and didn't know the answer to whether or not the service included filling the tires with air if low (neither did she bother to find out) or what the interval between oil changes was on the high mileage oil change service that she offered me for 2x the price of the standard oil change. She told me there was only one car ahead of me getting 4 tires replaced so it shouldn't be long. 3 hours later they finally took my car in, and performed the service, and then it just sat there in the service bay for more than 40 mins while I waited with no explanation. Finally 10 mins before they closed I went in and asked what was the problem with it and I was told that the battery was dead, and I need a new battery because it couldn't start. I told him the car started fine when I brought it in and and also started when they took it into the bay so it was strange that it wouldn't start, so I asked him to jump it so that I could leave. He went back and checked again then told me this time that the battery was "dying" and not dead and that it started. He was unable to tell me if there was any problem with the alternator which was my reason for paying for the service in the first place since I already knew the battery was 'dying'. He took $5 off my bill for the inconvenience. Needless to say, I won't be going back there and you probably shouldn't either.
