Awful employee who refused service to me with an ESA and chased me down from the car bay to inside to inform me that no service to be provided to anyone with any service animals with them. Did provide the solution of not having any type of service animal if you wanted to be served within this location which is in direct violation of federal law and was advised that documentation proving same was on my person. Reported this to corporate and waiting on an answer. Was advised by the pep boys manager Charleen "disappeared" from work after kicking me out and therefore never was educated on being ADA compliant. Still waiting on a response since I had ordered my tires and services before arrival. Go to the park ave location in Memphis! They fixed my vehicle and even greeted my pup with open arms. read more

My experience unfortunately wasn't the best, not because of the service but the way I feel I was treated. I think I angered the service professionals when I said I was nervous about bringing my car to pep boys. I told them i normally take it to the dealership. He proceeded to tell me all the things wrong with my car checking in periodically to say "did they tell you that at the dealership?". I tried to smooth things over by being polite and asking for clarification, but it felt more of someone trying to tell me off. I even explained to him that there was a recall on my car for an oil leak and he just talked over me. Maybe what I said was offensive, but I won't come back again to be talked to in that manner. He told me to come under my car knowing it was an oil leak. I stood off to the edge and he kept saying come under here, which makes no sense to me. They could be the best on service but I prefer better customer service. There were some regular customers there who raved about how awesome the location was, and the other service rep responded saying "don't tell her that, and then said I'm the mean one here". Okay long story short, my grandfather needed a new fuel pump on his Silverado. He was familiar with Pepboys because it's up the street from us. So I called and asked possibly when he could look at it. Derrick told me possibly a few days. I had no issue with that. We got it towed to Pepboys and once we got there and settled. He started adding up random things when we clearly told him it's just a fuel pump. After all of his adding and multiplying funds he came up with 2,000 dollars for a fuel pump change. Derricks reasoning was labor. I told my grandfather once we left I'll do some looking for something cheaper. There's a shop on Goodman by the Kroger and Target that did the job for $600. Pepboys is pretty much a scam. $2000 to $600 is a huge jump that needs to be explained. But it probably won't hahah read more

Stopped by to have a tire patched, plugged, repaired. Been in automotive industry for 50 years. Female service worker asked me to wait and she'd get help. A man came out with me and my son told use he would have to replace the tire but for 40 dollars, cash on the side,​ he would patch it for us. These guys are honest, know their stuff, and explained at my level exactly what was wrong! My car was shaking violently when I turned it on and the check engine light when on. They explained the problem was the spark plugs and coils and brought me back to see exactly what they were talking about. They were honest and trustworthy. Only one spark plug was having problems, but they recommended changing them all. They weren't pushy and didn't use fear to try to get me to spend more. They even told me what kind of coils were in the car in case I wanted to try to do it myself. I called around to other businesses in the area and the price was pretty consistent. When I went back to pick up the car, it was running completely smoothly, they gave me a 10% discount, and they changed my oil and filled up the air in my tires for no extra charge!! read more

This is the biggest bunch of con artists in Desoto County. I go in for an oil change and tire rotation. 1. They don't do the tire rotation 2. Took over 4hrs to get these simple things done 3. They gave me a list of things wrong with my truck about $3k worth of work. Took my truck to a trusted mechanic who does all my work to look at this list...guess what nothing was wrong with it. I went here to get an oil change which I was told includes a tire rotation. When I left I was told everything was done. Once I drove around I notice the tire rotation was not completed. I know because i patched my own tire not too long ago, and the tire patch is showing still there and sticky. I will be retuning to receive the tire rotation that was not completed. I'm not sure if they will honor it, but they did lie about doing it. I will not be going back for any more services..... read more

They DO NOT honor appointment times. My appointment was at 10. I dropped it off at 9:30. She said it would be an hour before they got to it. I reminded her had an appointment and she acted like the meaning of the word appointment confused her. They didn't start work until 11:30. Second time this happened, so I won't be back. read more

The staff was friendly. Price was fair, competitive with Walmart. I made a 2pm appointment. Had my car at the shop by 1:50pm. Car was taken into shop at 2:30pm. Got my car back at 3:30pm.My lesson don't waste my or your time setting an appointment. They take them as the come through the door. Second lesson, just because the work ticket says to rotate your tires and the sales receipt says they were rotated, your tires will probably not be rotated. I marked my tires with chalk prior to taking the car in. After getting home I checked the tires and they had not been rotated. Called and there was alot of finger pointing with no one accepting responsibility. I think this happens often at this PepBoys. Big lesson learned is they aren't to be trusted. read more

BOTTOM LINE 5 TIMES & 5 LIES AND THE CAR IS STILL NOT FIXED Mathis Tire's manager, Chris Pittman sold me a set of new tires and wheels for my BMW 750 LI. When I picked my car up, there was a terrible shake in the steering, I brought it back, and they claimed it was a bad tire and said they would replace it. When the tire was replaced I drove off and did not drive more than 100 yards and the car was shaking. I turned back around a brought it back. This time they told me it was another bad tire, and they said they would replace it. When I picked my car up after they replaced the other tire the car was still shaking. This time they change their story and said it was a bad rim and the distributor would send a new rim to replace the bad one. I brought my car back the following day and when I picked it up and when I drove off guess what; the car still had a terrible shake in the steering very frustrated I turned back around and brought my car back for the 4th time and this time they said the rim company did not send them the spacers. read more

Took my 2008 car in to have basic oil change and tire rotation. After about 20 min of inspection, manager comes back to me and tells me the car needs... New rear brakes, New Tie Rods in front, and a front end alingment. est. cost nearly $1000.00. I am skeptical that my car needs that much work; so the next week I took it to the Ford dealer. Ford did not find any problems with Brakes or Tie Rods. If you take your car here be ready to get pressured to buy something your car really doesnt need. read more

I am an owner of three vehicles and never had any issues until July 2014. When I took my car to Mathias on Goodman Road to be repaired it actually was returned to me running worse than it was before. I took it to another certified mechanic, and he told/showed me all of the things they screwed up. They didn't even bother to change the oil as I requested but did charge me to rotate my tires. I wrote a letter to corporate and have yet to hear from the owner since the mgr seemed useless. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Every time I have taken my car in to get the oil changed, this company comes up with a list of things "wrong" with my car. After getting second opinions, nothing needed to be fixed. The last time I took my car in to Mathis to get my oil changed, they told me I had over $2000 worth of things that needed to be replaced. According to a trusted mechanic, Mathis is almost always incorrect. This company would have cost me thousands!! If you are looking for a trusted company to use, Mathis is not the company I would recommend. Go anywhere else but here! Poor Customer Service. I stood at the customer desk for 15 before someone came from the shop to wait on me. I could see the workers sitting in the shop smoking and talking on the phone. A man who was sitting in the waiting area working on a laptop, got up and walked to the shop and told them I had been waiting. I guess he was a manager or owner. So the guy comes out and checks my car in. I had already called and told them I want my spare swapped out for a tire that had a bolt lodge in it. I sit for about another hour and 15 minutes and finally asked when my car would be ready because the guy on the phone told me it wouldn't take long to do the work. The customer service rep said, he'd check on my car. He said he thought they'd brought it in the shop to do the work but he was sure. I said, please go check. He comes back and says he doesn't know if they did the work. I said that is my key in that pouch. He says, " You car may be ready then!!" WTF!! My car could have been ready 30 minutes earlier. He just didn't check. I paid and go to my car to see that my spare had not been put on the car. I come back in and asked what did they do to my car. The guy says, "swapped your spare with the damaged tire". I said my spare is still in the trunk. "Oh. let me see what they did ( walks off and comes back). You got a deal he patched your tire". I didn't get no damn deal. I asked for my spare to be put on my car so that I could take the damaged tire to the dealership to get a new one. I won't ever go back to that backwater ass place.
