Recovered on it's…read moreown, but I decided to take to Express, get an oil change and have them put in a new thermostat. The tech there was very knoweldgeable and courteous to the max. Finished up, paid the bill and left only to have it over heat a couple of miles down the road. Turned around, took it back and the saga of troubleshooting began. To make a long story short, after several parts (over a period of days) were changed the tech figured he might have gotten a bad part. Changed the thermostat out again and fixed the issue. Now they could have hit me up for additional troubleshooting, but the answer when I asked what I owed was, you paid for a thermostat. We had a bad one out of stock and that has now been replaced and you owe us nothing else. I have been a mechanic over 40 years in aviation. Bad parts happen and can drive you crazy. The tech at Express was open, honest and kept at the issue until it was resolved. I could not have asked for better treatment and will return for my routine maintenance in the future.

I ended up sitting in the line as if I was getting an oil change. Once I pulled up, I stated I was not popping the hood, I told the first person I was there to have the car tires examined as now a second time was low. The vehicle was pulled around back and after a wait I was informed that their technology could not patch a tire with its tread depth. They referred me to two other businesses. I requested topping off the tires, which they did. On both visits, staff was cordial.

Once they started my oil change, it took nearly an hour to complete. The service included tire…read morerotation, but the mechanic said that all 20 of my lug nuts were stripped, so he couldn't rotate the tires. They are of course not all stripped, how ridiculous (none seem to be). The only tire that I saw them even check was the rear passenger tire. And now it loses about 10psi of air every day, so I have to air it up several times a week until I fix whatever they messed up there. So now I still have to go somewhere else and pay someone who knows how to rotate tires (after I've already paid Meineke) AND I have to see what damage they've done to my tire. Hopefully that won't cost any more or have me need to replace my tire. I brought my own air filter and new wiper blades and asked if they could also switch those out while they're at it. They charged a little extra for this, and that would be fair. However, the mechanic said that the new blades would not fit. I returned them, thinking I must have made a mistake, but no, they were the correct ones for my car. So I bought them again and changed them myself, and it was so easy I didn't even need a YouTube video to refer to. So after waiting an hour the oil is changed, but other than that my car is in worse shape than when I brought it in. The mechanic couldn't even do the most basic things. Ineptitude is what I ended up paying for. If you want honesty, know-how, reliability, and fairness, avoid this establishment.

While there I asked her to have them balanced and rotated. I filled it up and told her to drop it off. Later that morning she got a call from Christopher M. Saying the car was ready. She went to pick it up and they had done nothing to the car. C. M. Told her the tires ( which only had about 36k on them) were worn / damaged to the point of that it was no use to rotate them. And they were so unsafe they could not even have the leaking tire ( the original problem repaired. For back ground, I am myself a 30 + year mechanic. I keep my cars in pretty good shape. Especially the one my loved ones drive daily. Instead Chris chose to put my wife back out on the street with a potentially dangerous condition in her vehicle. Basically, because she would not commit to new tires til i looked at them. I just got home and jacked the car and rotated the rear tire. Chris tried to rip us off and was willing to risk something bad happening to my wife to push up the profit margin apparently. I am enclosing a video of the tire in question. We came back in the following Monday and he tried to argue with me as if I was lying about the issue even after he stated this has been a common problem for there Location. My friends noticed a flapping sound underneath the car because a piece had not been secured. The Firestone shop in Jackson found my tires were not aligned and were wearing so severely because of this they could have exploded on Interstate 40. I had to pay for a full realignment and two new tires in Jackson, to the tune of $900+. I had only had these tires for 18 months, installed in 2024 at Costco. I have not received any reimbursement from Caliber or from Steve's after this faulty work could have cost my friends and I our lives.
