I've always had a good experience at this location. The staff have been always helpful. I buy any car parts I may need for maintenance like filters, wipers and etc. I come here if I have tire leaks or nails in my tire and the guys here fix it with no problem with a tire plug. Very rude and disrespectful management. They sell used an no good batteries to HGreg to put into cars that die in less than 8 months with no warranties and refuses to replace them and try to sell them at a higher price to the consumer. Rick Hoopingarner is very rude and disrespectful. And probably the reason why Pep Boys is going out of business everywhere. Their service in their company sucks. I called the store located at: 800 N Military Trl, West Palm Beach, FL 33415 this morning to compare the quote for service I received from another company. Matthew told me to come in for a quick check. He told me the technician doing the evaluation was free and available. Once I checked in, I waited for an additional 3 hours for a diagnosis that I already informed Matthew I knew. Once I told him I was not getting the work done today, I was charged $78.00 for the diagnosis. Plus, the quote from Pepboys was very similar to the quote from the company I was comparing them to. Matthew lied to my face; saying he told me about the fee. He claim he could let me hear the recording. I am still waiting to hear the recording. All I wanted was an oil change  and for them to let me know if I needed any other repairs on my vehicle. And had it set up to be installed at 9am at Pep Boys and Pierre purposely made me wait even after the truck was done. I was told to be one hour ends up being almost 2 hours. The store is just a service store with no customer service desk. they said they can't do it, I called the lakw worth store and was told that with the receipt they can help. So I said my info will be in your computer. they aid they don't keep information other than what is on the receipt. Who keeps a 3yr old receipt. I will never go back or call them again. they service has went to trash over the past 3-4 yrs. I'm sure thousands of previous customers have all experience this nonsense. I told him I had an appointment for new tires and an oil change. I told him it was a conventional change because that's what I booked and that was in my profile. My late best friend was an avid supporter of going to Pep Boys for all of his automotive needs, and I followed in his footsteps. Why? Because they have very fair prices on tires and other suspension work, etc. When I needed a new 14 inch tire for my 29 year old car, PepBoys had three different choices. None of the other big-name tire dealers in the area had any choices, and said they had to special order, said tire, as it belongs to an older car. Last time I looked, there are still a lot of older cars on the road that take a 14 inch tire. All three of the gentleman I spoke with at Pep Boys were very polite with me, and told me exactly what had to be done, and how long it would take, and apologized for being short staffed. Further, the tire choices I had were all reasonably priced, reality priced. Furthermore, I had a great time, talking with several other people who were waiting for their cars to be repaired. When you need tires or suspension work on your vehicle, look no further than the Pep Boys on North military Trail in West Palm Beach, over by the airport. Worst experience of my life. Cost me a car. This place is complete fraud and beyond incompetent. I went in for an oil change, and was talked into a bunch of routine maintenance that I "had to do" in their opinion. I knew my car was up for some maintenance so I agreed. I've always taken care of my car. When I picked up my car, it was destroyed. This car was older, but was well taken care of and well documented to be in wonderful condition. After leaving pep boys I made it 1 block before my dash lit up like an Xmas tree. Long story short- my car was destroyed by bad parts and bad service techs, to the point I had to sell it. I had the car inspected by the dealership (who previously praised the car) and went on the record stating the issue was bad parts and service by pepboys. It was a clear issue of bad service. I brought my vehicle back to pepboys 3xs, giving them the option to fix the situation. They told me it was imagining issues and tried to mansplane fake excuses. i fought with Pepboys for a refund. They denied and issue to me, and told my credit card I couldn't get a refund because they would redo the work. I had to sell the car for parts. This is the car that the dealership had told me over and over to expect another 250k miles out of. The same car that mechanics came out to compliment me on the condition. I cannot express enough how bad this experience was. Please do not go here. Do not let anyone you love go here. You will leave damaged. This story was traumatic and I would never want anyone else to experience this! read more

I had an oil change and tire rotation done. It was scheduled at 11:00 and was done at 1:20.. ok fine. Then I look at my tires and they're not rotated. The guy Rick tells me I didn't tell him i wanted a tire rotation but I told him three times if not four. Then he tells me it will be about 4 hours til I can do it cuz another car is already rolled in. I get a raincheck for Saturday at 11. Saturday at 11 I get there and am told I have at least a 3hour wait. I don't have that time to sit there so I rescheduled for 8 am the next morning cuz I was told that if I get there when they open they will work on my car first 8 am I'm there the first appointment and I'm still told I have to wait an hour at least. A tire rotation takes 20 minutes. These people apparently don't perform the free services that come with an oil change because they want to get you in and out fast. Then when you come for the service they offered they give you the run around. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I've almost always had a great experience at Pep Boys and this one was no exceptions. I had a slow leak in one of my tires. They told me to pull up to the 1st or 2nd garages. They sprayed a liquid on my tire, found the slow leak. They patched the leak and filled up/checked air in all my tires for free! I'm coming back here for my tire needs. read more

I got a nail in my tire and was scared to drive to Fort Lauderdale that way went to multiple other tire shops and they all told me no. This pep boys not only immediately said yes, made sure they patched the tire but event put air in all 4 of my tires. I've been a pep boys customer for years and was pretty surpised with my experience at this location. They didn't have the parts I needed for some external repairs - which was fine as my car is a unique model. They also didn't have the tires I needed - again, fine as I didn't expect them to have them in stock. What confused me however was when they told me I'd have to go elsewhere to get them replaced because they couldn't order them? I'm happy to take my business elsewhere but I got the first two tires replaced at another Pep Boys in the area just 9 months ago.. That store was happy to order them for me and kept my car at the shop until they came in. The kicker though is when they informed my partner (who was picking up the car for me) that I had "a small oil leak" and would need to come back to have them determine what was causing the leak by using some sort of dye.. I thought this was pretty fishy since I knew the other shop wouldn't have let me leave without telling me a potential cause or giving me an estimate for something like this. I also knew that in the dead heat of Florida, car ACs likes to drip condensation. And I knew that the easiest way to determine the type of liquid you're leaking is by catching a few drops of the leak with a piece of paper to check for color/consistency. Yep, water. Either they didn't bother to check what type of liquid it was or they were trying to upsell me on a service I didn't need.. Needless to say, I'll be going back to the other location moving forward. read more

Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle to a legitimate mechanic. The only thing these people want to do is sell you new tires and brake pads. This is the second time that I have gone in for the "free" tire rotation and they have refused to rotate the tires stating that they need replaced. 31K on a 50K rated tire with plenty of tread before the wear bar but they again are telling me that they won't rotate them because it is dangerous. read more

My experience at this Pep-Boys branch was overall positive. I ordered a full synthetic oil change under the "managers special" which included other services such as tire rotation, brake check, and vehicle inspection. Here's the breakdown: Customer Service: 10/10 Quality: 8/10 Wait Time: 4/10 Price: 10/10 First, customer service. This location excelled at customer service by addressing any concerns I had and making accommodations for me. Since I scheduled a 3 o'clock appointment but couldn't be seen for ~2 hours, I decided to get food. Matt, the employee I spoke with, said that he would call me when the car is ready and he kept that promise. They are willing to go the extra mile for their customers and tailor the experience to work for you. The quality. They performed all maintenance on the vehicle quickly and accurately once it was in the garage. The car was driven a little recklessly by a young man, but no damage was done. Wait Time. As I stated before, I made an appointment for 3 o'clock but still had to wait 2 hours to get the vehicle in the garage. Aside from that, there was a bit of trouble getting help at the service desk -- there was nobody manning the desk at all, and I waited ~15 minutes to be seen. Price. Honestly, you'd have to perform all of this maintenance yourself to get a better price. I don't know how they make any money! I was pleased with the value of the service. Overall I would recommend this location for an oil change. I will be scheduling another appointment with them in the future. read more

Appt at 1pm for 2 tires... I have customers so i figured leave a window until 2:15 Its 2:16 they haven't moved my vehicle... It seems they make alot of appts then with those its first come first serve... Then they get to walk in customers when nothing from appts is going on... BAD BUSINESS MODEL. They tell you this when you've been there awhile... It seem up front they forget to mention that... Why are there three guys standing In the corner talking then? They then tell me when it gets in a bay it will take 1.5 hrs to change 2 Tires... Curious since the last shop it was 1/2 hr to 45 min and i was 2nd in line there. Terrible customer service!!!. Tried to bring my tire that had a nail it in to get patched. Rushed to get there before 7 doors were already locked at 6 o'clock. Went to the garage the mechanic had a nasty attitude when i told him about the nail in my tire he said that it was going to be "too hard" Without out even looking at the tire. Seems like he was ready to go at 6 if that's the case they should change the hours. Very disappointed i wasted my time rushing to get there only to be turned away. read more

DO NOT COME HERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE!!!! Last time I came here they said they rotated my tires, when in fact they did not. Then we had to wait AGAIN for them to go back and rotate the tires after lying. I should have known not to come back here, but I gave them another chance. Made an appointment for 9:00 today, sat patiently in the waiting area until 10:35 when I went up to the counter to see if my car was done. The two employees were playing on their phones talking to each other and did not even acknowledge that I was standing there. I finally interrupted their iPhone time and said can you please tell me if my car is done. They handed me the keys to the wrong car and I said no, Honda Pilot. They said oh you're next in line. WHAT?!? Why do they give the appointment option then?! There was nobody else in the waiting area either. That is absolutely absurd to have someone waiting an hour and a half for an oil change that hasn't even been started. I HAD to have this done early as I have to go pick up my son now. I called in and made an appointment on Friday for 10am. I admit I was 10 min late but the guy told me they were too busy so they had to reschedule. So I did for 9am on Monday. Then showed up early and as soon as I mentioned that my car came from drivetime and the warranty was handling it there attitude changed completely and all of a sudden they were too busy for me again. I've been bringing my car here for a bit now, had a trailer hitch installed, tires, oil changes and the like. What prompts this review is the exceptional service I received this week and evening. I had an issue with my Toyota (a known problem with the oil cooling pipe where oil pours out of a hole worn in the pipe) that Toyota refused to cover under the extended warranty for this specific defect as I was 600 miles over the cutoff. After being told I'd receive a call back from Toyota and not hearing anything, I brought my car into Pep Boys. Just as I was doing the paperwork for the repair, Toyota called back and said they'd do the repair for 500.00 Pep Boys quoted me about half that still using Toyota parts. Pep Boys closes at 8pm, and due to a printer issue they were having problems cashing people out. Even staying past closing, the staff was calm, friendly and professional. They brought my car around, and I was on my way. So basically, pep boys treated me like the dealership should have, and didn't try to rip me off on a frustrating repair. They could be a little bit better with the call backs to let me know what's going on with the car, but the price was more than fair, the service is quick, and I've not had an issue with anything done here to my cars. 5 stars for sure, and I'll definitely be back the next time something needs to be done! read more

Based on all of the reviews on here that are bad I should have gone to my normal shop. I decided to get my tires from Pep Boys since they had the best price, worst mistake of my life. Not only did the new tires shake at high speeds but when I brought it back to them they blamed everything but the tires. Turns out they are directional tires and they put two on the wrong side of the car. I will never go here again and will go back to my normal shop at Tires Plus down the street and let Mike and the boys do an awesome job. read more
