Pete's is my new long term mechanic. They really are trust worthy. I hate going to mechanics. It's like going to a doctor, they tell you what's wrong and you just have to take their word for it or get a second opinion. Then pay a whole lot of money and wonder in the back of your mind whether you've been suckered out of your hard earned money.. I usually take my baby to the Toyota dealership. Which is another entire scandal in itself but I digress. Pete's is only open Monday through Friday 8am through 5pm. I came to him in need of brakes desperately. My breaks were at the point of no return. They weren't even squeaking any more. (Don't ever let your breaks get to this point) It was a miracle that I got to his shop in one piece. I also had in mind to have some routine much needed maintenance done. I had a list from Toyota. Their prices were just too crazy for me, hence why I was now with Pete's. Pete put my mind on ease right off the bat. He was nice and patiently explained his recommendations. Most of the recommendations from the Toyota dealership weren't needed. And his work including labor and parts was $200 less than what Toyota had quoted. I left with my car that same day with the work completed earlier than expected. I'm a big fan of Pete's Auto. They were really trying to figure out what was going on with my car when I dropped by, even after I didn't commit to leaving it with them. They wouldn't be able to fully diagnose that day and I didn't want to leave it. Ultimately, I came back and worked with Issa to set up a time to drop my car off and get the work done. Vastly different experience from Mike Maroone which I absolutely hate to patronize. I'm talking service and price! At any rate, the problem I had fixed glitched one day and I called Issa to let him know. I set up a time to bring it back but it wasn't necessary because it's been months and it never glitched again. When I called to let him know I wasn't going to keep the appointment, he told me he'd done some research and bring it by anyway, when I had time. Previously, my car had only been serviced by Chevrolet dealers but with the aforementioned trash one, I am happy I found Pete's and will continue to patronize them. read more

The amateur mechanic in me watched the YouTube video on how to replace the alternator and battery in my car and I thought "I can do that." My wife watched the video, raised an eyebrow and asked how I planned to find out where I had left my mechanic's creeper. The last time I could remember was over ten years ago. Because of 5 star reviews, I tried to give Pete's a chance. Left a phone message, and got no call back. "Booked" and appointment through the website and got no response. Went at the time I had reserved and was told- 1. The web site doesn't work. 2. "I m here by myself, and only part time, so I don't do oil changes anymore. Keep looking. read more

Loved this Auto Repair Shop in WPB - Pete's. I'm brand new to Florida and was so happy to find an honest, reliable, friendly and very reasonably priced auto repair shop - Pete's. I had gone to the Service Dept at Toyota who quoted a ridiculous price just to order a new splash guard and install it on my Prius - $350 all in- I went online and bought an after market - $25 and had Pete/Mike put it on for $44. and just taking 20 minutes. I just moved to the area and was looking for a honest, reliable mechanic and am so glad I found Pete's Auto Repair. My car badly need front brakes and rotors and I was also having trouble getting my old license plate off due to corrosion of the screws. Pete's is the most honest auto repair shop I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. They are fair and always thorough and timely. The last time I was having a problem I brought my car to Pete's and said"something is wrong; see if you can figure it out. That afternoon I got a call telling me they had figured out the problem. The car needed a part replaced (estimated cost $500). Guess what? I was told the part was under a recall and all I needed to do was take to the dealership and they could do it for free. Go here ! Honest mechanic . I had a brake squealing at low speeds and I was convinced it was a wear sensor on the front brakes , and I had the brakes done in NY not that long ago . I called Pete's and I got an honest mechanic , thank God . He tells me there is plenty of pad and rotors left , he pulled 3 of the 4 wheels and said functionally there is nothing wrong . The squeal can come from its salty bath it has endured for the last 7 years being from upstate NY . If I can endure the occasional annoying squeal I should be good to go . He did offer to do the front pads and rotors at a cost that was $100 cheaper then the 3 prior quotes I received for the same job . If I insisted on making the squeal go away . It's safe and operates fine with %50 of the rotors and pads left he said , my call . You don't find that at the national chains . They would have sold me the kitchen sink I'm sure . So if you need an honest opinion from an honest mechanic . Look no further . He did the right thing for an out of stater that he could have easily done wrong . And I proved to be right in my debate with my wife about th he life left in those brakes . Win win . read more

Pete is the most honest person I know a nd will let nobody else work on my car. If he says you need something fixed, you do. He is great.

I've been to Petes a couple of times now and have been pleased. Both times he worked me in very quickly and the repairs were completed on the same day. Price is about average. Pete himself is very friendly and easy to deal with, as were the other mechanics there. I generally avoid going to dealers and large chains for auto service because frankly I don't trust them to be honest about what needs to be done vs racking up a list of everything that could possibly be done.
