This Pep Boys is absolutely terrible. They should get rid of everyone and ONLY keep Mallory and the older blk gentlemen. There is always turnover. They either have no staff, or the staff they once had is gone. You make an appt and have to sit for HOURS to get your car back. They told me that I needed windshield wipers, but forgot I had gotten new ones from THEM the LAST TIME I WAS THERE. They are beyond terrible! I gave only 1 star because I had to. read more

I took my 2008 Prius there after calling them at getting a quote for $40 for new headlight bulbs. Dropped it off at 10:30 and the price doubled since the quote on the phone. I said go ahead and replace them. He said it will be done by 12:00 so I go back around 12:30 to pick it up and Bob proceeds to tell me due to a "mishap" with a previous car that they didn't take it back yet and it should only be 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile 1 1/2 past and he then brings me my key and asks "is there some type of magic to start your car". I took the key and started it for him. They take it back and then come back at me with a price of $860. That's an increase of 1000%+ I said on no way please just give me my car back. After awhile goes by Bob pulls my car into the parking spot and I'm standing in front of it to see what if any of my headlights were working. Well this PepBoy BOB didn't know how to put it in park. Which does not take a genius to figure out. He runs over the concrete slab with the front end of my car then proceeds to reverse it scrapping the entire undercarriage of my car to the point I thought it was going to be ripped off. He then tries getting out of the car as I'm yelling put it in park. He's looking at me all confused. He actually attempts to get out of my car while it's idling I jumped in front of him and pushed the big old Park button that was right in front of his face. Then I get in and my dashboard lights weren't working. I was so fed up at this point I drove away after informing the mechanic that my dashboard lights were now completely off. He says "oh that's strange bc we didn't disconnect the battery" I'm like whatever and pull away. Come home looked up the same headlights on Amazon for $33.99 and am having a friend install them Saturday for $100. So if I was gullible enough I would be out $860 as opposed to $133.99. Just bc I'm a woman they think they could make me pay for the aforementioned "mishap" they had with the car before me. read more

Went to get an oil change, not only did it take long, the technician didn't add oil, I drove 4miles my "Add Oil" light came on, I immediately pullover checked it(bone dry), drove back, while speaking to the manager... Get to Pep Boys and the manager checks the oil, the technician came out and filled it, manager guarantees my next change is on them... Fast forward to last week, went in for my freebie, and this time, they were 2.5quarts short, but now they previous incompetent technician is now management!!... Never again!!! read more

A simple thing like replacing a head light. Will not be $7 anymore. But this Pep boys does bring it under $67maybe under$ $40-$50. Depends on your vehicle. I did price comparisons tire plus $75. Midas $225 and Meineke $175. Wow! The price depends on your vehicle and what is wrong with it. I like using Pep Boys for the small things that go wrong. Choose this Pep Boys to service three of my vehicles for an oil change on 7/30/24. Turns out, I chose correctly! From the moment I scheduled my vehicles to the completion of service I was treated professionally and quickly, less than 45 minutes per vehicle, by the manager (Michael Perez). He advised me of all rebates and coupons available for their various levels of oil changes. In the end, I came away with full premium synthetic oil changes for just a few dollars more then it would have cost me to do it on my own AND I didn't have to mess around under my truck or worry about finding some place to disposing of all the old oil. I had a 8am appointmen, my car was not moved from the parking lot until 830! than at 9 they informed me they did not have the tires that said they had 2 days ago online when I originally schedule my appointment for 4 new tires and an alignment. i was informed that they would not be able to pick up tires from another store until 10, the other store was 25 minutes away! it was not until 1130 that the tires I requested where at the shop! My car was not ready until 12pm. They also didn't do my alignment, that was apart of my scheduled appointmen! they wrote down that I declined an alignment that I went there for!!!! the man working the front desk was so incredibly apologetic about the whole fiasco with the tires, but to the mechanic who was nasty to that poor man over the tires not being there along with NOT DOING my alignment maybe rethink your career path. Totally incompetent. Their "brake inspection" is a joke. They put on brakes and never mentioned we needed calipers too so one day later the old calipers messed up the brake job and one day later we needed new brakes. They also found the brake line was bad, but they missed that the first time too. Our neighbor had problems there as well. This place should not even be open for busines. read more

Had a 10am appointment (there were MANY other open appointments for later in the day and even earlier). Called at 11:22 for an update because I was driving around the area with a family member waiting, (I did tell them this) and they told me it would be around another hour before they even brought my car back. Called again at 12:20 and they said another half hour. Picked my car up at 12:40 because nothing was done to it after having an appointment at TEN IN THE MORNING. I get being backed up and short staffed, but nobody told me this when I told them I would be in the area waiting, nor did anybody ever call me after the fact. Wasted my morning. read more

PLEASE READ THIS before using this shop. Full disclaimer: I have been working on cars since I was hardly able to hold a wrench. When I first dealt with this shop I told the shop manager that I have extensive knowledge and all I asked for was honesty. Experience #1. 2017 Subaru Corsstrek. My wife and I both purchased used vehicles from Carvana. When my wife's car arrived there was a fair amount of wear on the tires. We contacted Carvana they instructed us to go to a repair facility for tires and it would be covered under our warranty plan. We took it in, it was checked out and within minutes we were getting new tires. 10/10. The shop manager then suggested that they look over the car and let us know what they find. They come back with some work that needed to be done. We had the repairs done by them. Once the car was picked up (about 5 days after we dropped it off...) the disappointment began. Greasy finger prints all over the paint, and awful metal on metal grinding sound. I decided to bring it home and look it over myself as I had a very good idea as to what the noise was. All 4 wheels needed to be removed and the heat shields behind the break rotors all needed to be bent back into position and one needed to be removed entirely (waiting on a replacement that I have purchased out of pocket). PepBoys also never provided us with an invoice and did not tell us exactly how much the repairs cost. I later asked how much it all cost and the answer was avoided, I questioned over $3000? His response made it seem that it was significantly more. Never did find out the cost. Following experience #1 I was becoming rather skeptical. Felt that the work was sub par and the stories started to make less sense. Experience #2. 2016 Volkswagen GTI. With some hesitation I brought my vehicle which I had all ready fully inspected by my self in for the same inspection excluding tires as they are fairly new. I was able to pick the car up the following day while they got the ball rolling with our warranty plan. When I arrived at the shop I witnessed the shop manager and one of his technicians in a heated argument that was bound for physical altercation if it was not for some of the other staff that intervened. With that aside, I dropped the car off, and I explained to the shop manager that there was a noise coming from the front left wheel (play in the outer tie rod end) which I had already identified on my own and confirmed by their inspection. I also mention that I believe the left rear tire to be out of balance as it gets slight vibration at 63-68mph and directly asked for the balance to be checked. The second issue "identified" by PepBoys that was listed in the inspection was that the right rear caliper slide pins were "sticking". Here is where the real fun starts. I received a phone call asking me to drop the vehicle off. I assumed that this meant the repairs were authorized and it was ready to have the work done. I was told that It was going to be at PepBoys at least 3 days while they wait for parts and wait for our warranty firm to approve the repairs. The shop manager then explained to me that the caliper slide pins were completely seized and the entire caliper needed to be replaced. Now, my vehicle came factory equipped with a performance package which included performance breaks from Hella Pagid. I was informed by the shop manager that they ordered a replacement caliper. I asked If it was going to match the other four calipers. 1. They are performance breaks and a generic caliper would genuinely make the car unsafe to drive with uneven breaking on one wheel. 2. My calipers are powder coated red as well as a stamped powder coated white GTI logo. Performance issued aside, the shop managers suggestion was to "go buy some red caliper paint and i'll spray it for you before you pick it up." Unfortunately at this point I had to get back home some work meetings. Once my work day was complete I checked over the inspection once more and realized that I have had enough with this shop and the shop managers dishonestly. The inspection stated that the caliper slide pins were sticking, when the shop manager told me they were seized. It was at that point that I decided to go and pick up my vehicle. I explained to the shop that I would not be moving forward with any repairs there and I would take care of it myself and left with my car. The slide pins ALL move freely on all four wheels. All I asked for was honestly and it seems greed is more important to these people. Please use a different shop, there are plenty in the area. read more

This review came late after a prior experience and is a hard one for me. I've been here many times for simpler maintenance tasks such as oil changes & tires and they've been great there. But when I came in for brakes one day, they quoted me for a charge that was x3 what the website said, back in the day that pepboys.com gave you a price when you made an appointment online. And when I inquired about the rate differential, they started to get rude about it. For the basics, sure, this location does the trick and is still better than the other pep boys around the area. But beyond that, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

I made an appointment for an oil change at 9:00 and asked for them to look at my tires since I believed there to be a hole in one. They told me it would take an hour and a half. Luckily, I live close to pepboys so I walked home. The clock struck 1:00, and I have not received an update. I called and they clearly have not looked at my car yet. I get a call back an hour later saying it's all wrapped up. No apologies, nothing. We all plan our day around things and for it to take all day AND not even be updated on things and no apology, well.. I should've listened to the other reviews. Went in to fix a problem with my wheel drifting and requested alignment service if that would fix it. I told the mechanic before he did any work to call me. I received a call thirty minutes later saying my car was ready to be picked up. They did an alignment change, but my wheel still drifted. The mechanic argued the drift was "normal". I left the car again, and I called after almost 24 hours of hearing nothing. They said they weren't sure why the wheel drifted. Another 24 hours go by and they say it's a bent rim. The one mechanic said the other who originally worked on my car was from Nissan and said he was wrong. If you work hard for your money avoid the "boys" at all costs. read more

About a week or two ago I went to pepboys with an issue with my brakes, when I entered the building I was greated by a friendly associate, Alex. With no appointment I explained my issue's and he gladly took my car in, approximately 15 minutes later he began to explain the cause and gave me a price. It was above my budget unfortunately, so in order to help get the car safely on the road again he guided me to where i could find some coupons. This is the most unprofessional shop I have ever dealt with. I had an appointment for an oil change, I show up there and they tell me that because it was done overnight they couldn't honor my appointment. Then I get an email saying they sorry I missed my appointment....smh. What??? I missed my appointment??!!! Too bad there was no where for me to reply to that email and tell them that I didn't miss my appointment but it was their unprofessional shop manager that did not honor my appointment. To make things worse, my wife had an appointment 2 hours latter tot an oil change as well. She was able to change her oil but surprise surprise, she had a nightmare of an experience herself. She gets in they try to rotate her tires, they break a lug, tried to blame it on my wife saying that it was probably broken already but they would fix it anyway. 3 hours later and they fixed it and they didn't even put lug nuts on but regular nuts, wheel looks awful, and they forgot to put a hub cap on, then they tell her she needs to go back to them another day because they don't have lug nuts to put on her tire and because they were about to close. What a joke of a shop. I intend to write to their corporate offices as well. No one should be treated like this. Customers beware!!!!!!! read more
