Came here with my parents and we really enjoyed the oxtail. Lots of space and tables to fit a good amount of people. They had turned on the music during lunch and it was a vibe. Even ran into my cousin and she said she comes here a lot cuz the lunch special is nice. Jamaican restaurants are very popular in South Florida- This is my favorite one. The curry chicken and curry goat is my favorite.

This is my second visit to the restaurant in a week. I played it safe with fried chicken the first time, but after seeing a steam fish dish, I was impressed and decided to bring my mom, a big fish lover. When we arrived, I thought the place was closed since there were hardly any cars, but we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. We both ordered steam fish, bammy, rice & peas, and soursop juice. The fish was made to order, taking about 30 minutes, but it was worth the wait--it was the best I've had in a while, reminding me of Hellshire, minus the beach. The fish was bursting with flavor and perfectly spicy. Was getting hair done across the street and someone said it was very good. Had steam snapper with bammy & veg. It was well seasoned and had a nice variety of veggies (cho cho/chayote, okra, carrot, pumpkin, cabbage) The fish was a bit over-steamed, but way too many scales still on the fish. Had to remove a star for the scales The restaurant looked nice & clean and the homemade juices are worth the money ($6) considering other restaurants are selling homemade juice that smells sour (Dutch Pot), you have to spend for better quality. The soursop juice without milk was great and is def worth a repurchase. The sorrel ginger tasted like a fresh version of the tropical riddims juice. The food was basic and I didn't like the taste i had the fried chicken , rice and peas with curry goat gravy an the cold salad. The fried chicken was so dry i could barely eat it the rice was so soft without a flake to it , it had to been over cooked or old rice I'm not understanding why because I came at like 3 o'clock in the afternoon . We went here because we saw a review on Instagram...my husband looked it up on line to find directions and on line is says they close at 11pm (but yelp says they close at 8) we drove 40 mins to try it. From the moment we walked in we were not made to feel welcome, my husband and friend are both Jamaican I am not and the patrons that were watching TV and drinking made it very uncomfortable. The staff did not do any better. There was only one price of jerk chicken left all the other dishes looked like all the meat had been picked out, and the fried chicken looked very dry. Ordered a brown stew fish (made to order) waiting about 25/30 mins to over hear the women in front gave the food away. We asked them about it and the women responded "the customer should have saw that the fish wasn't hers and give it back" Now who would ever give back free food lol. I'm giving 4 stars based con the only thing I ate from this restaurant. Sweet and sour chicken, it is fried to perfection. Usually when I have sweet and sour chicken it can easily get soggy after sitting too long. This chicken maintained that texture, the flavor and color regardless of the sauce. My boyfriend and I are visiting from CT and he ate there everyday for 3 days straight. It's about a 30 min drive from Deerfield beach. It's worth the drive. The woman semi greeted us and walked behind the counter. At first, we saw that there were no food, but it was actually covered. Since it was the end of the day, I think they were running low on some things. The parking lot was big so we found up front parking. I decided to go for the brown stew chicken which was so delicious. It came with rice and peas and salad; I'm sure there were supposed to be plantains but she ran out. The portions were big for a "small" container. The meat was tender and flavorful. I was very surprised since when I walked in, based on the ambiance inside, I assumed the food wasn't going to be good. However, I was wrong, the food was really good and authentic. They didn't have patties which I found odd, but again, it might be because it was at the end of the day. Overall, it's another good Jamaican spot in the neighborhood. A few weeks ago I had some friends in town, they found this place and that's the first time I had it. I ordered curry shrimp with rice and peas and fried chicken. My friend went to pick it up and it took them forever to get back, like over an hour. Some of the items like fish and maybe even the shrimp and fried chicken are made to order so that's probably why it took so long and we had a lot of orders. The food was very tasty, especially the rice. The flavor is fresh and authentic, not too oily or salty. I decided to go there myself a few days ago. It's a nice sized place with chairs and tables for eating in. There were no customers which surprised me but I was hoping for the same experience. My aunt wasn't sure what she wanted so she asked the girl what the different meats were. The server had an attitude about that. We were placing a few orders for the house so we were trying to figure out what we want and she was rushing us and getting an attitude over everything. The place was empty so I didn't understand her impatience. They didn't have any of the sides on the menu: Mac and cheese, cabbage, or potato salad; just rice and salad. I wanted salmon but the fish orders take 45 minutes and I didn't have time. The whole vibe of the place plus the servers attitude made me not even want anything at all. We got the curry chicken and curry goat and the lady was being so stingy with the meat. I hate when they fish the spoon around the container trying to avoid the meat. Just give me the 2 scoops and keep it moving!! Thankfully the food was good and the prices are reasonable. Went for lunch here, in this old fashion strip mall plaza, soon as I walked in, the decor told me THIS is the spot. The portions same as other regular joints.
