We arrived around 11 PM on a Friday and the place had great energy. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and a few tables looked like they were celebrating special occasions, which added to the vibe. The music was excellent and honestly brought back a bit of that nostalgic, high school party feel in the best way. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were definitely strong and well made. The service stood out just as much as the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly pleasant and attentive, checking in with us several times to make sure we were taken care of. You could tell she genuinely cared about the guests. I also learned the owners are Trini and Guyanese, which I loved because it added a nice personal touch to the experience. As a first time visitor, I really appreciated that she thanked us for coming when we left. It made the experience feel welcoming and personal. I'll definitely be back to try the food. As a vegetarian, I'm hoping to make a special request since there aren't many Chinese vegetarian options on the menu, but I'm confident they'll accommodate it. We left after 1 AM and people were still coming in, so it's clearly a popular late night spot. Great location right off University with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. Overall, a great night, great energy, and a place I'll be returning to.

I ask what food was available she went to the back and said all are ready. Ordered after 5 mins she said if I paid it'll would be quicker. I pique at 2:52. At 3:08, she said food will be ready in 10 mins. At 3:25 she told me they didn't have any griot. Only 1 plate was served to a food delivery person while I was waiting. I was so disappointed in the experience. Waited 30 + mins to say they were out of my food w no apology. I requested a refund and left. Be careful choosing this place to eat and be ready to wait.

Some restaurants serve food. Others serve memories…read more For me, Joy's Roti Delight isn't just the best Trinidadian restaurant in Broward County--it's a place that's been part of my life for years. I've been eating there since they were in their original location connected to Lauderhill Mall, and no matter how many restaurants I've visited as a chef, Joy's has always felt like home. Walk through the front door and you'll see the large photo of Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. That picture is more than decoration--it's a reminder of the man whose kindness and passion built a place that has fed generations of South Floridians. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to meet him. He was genuinely one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. And the food? Simply outstanding. Their doubles are, in my opinion, the best in Broward--soft, fresh, perfectly balanced, and packed with authentic Trinidadian flavor. It's no surprise they're one of the dishes people rave about over and over in public reviews. The curry goat is tender and deeply seasoned. The curry chicken is rich and comforting. The curry duck is phenomenal. The stew chicken tastes like it came straight from a family kitchen. Pair any of them with their flavorful rice and peas, curry potatoes, or curry chickpeas, and you understand why Joy's has built such a loyal following over the years. But believe it or not... my favorite side is the pumpkin. Funny enough, I used to never eat pumpkin. Mr. Joy himself convinced me to give it a chance, telling me how good it was for me. If you know what I mean I finally listened--and I've been hooked ever since. It's funny how the smallest conversations can stay with you forever. Don't leave without trying their homemade pepper sauce either. It brings just the right amount of heat while letting the flavors of the food shine. As an Executive Chef who's fortunate enough to eat at restaurants across South Florida, I know great food when I taste it. But what separates Joy's isn't just the cooking--it's the heart behind it. The recipes, the consistency, the culture, and the people have made this place a landmark for Trinidadian cuisine. Rest in peace, Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. Thank you for the meals, the conversations, and the legacy you've left behind. Your name still brings people together around a table, and that's one of the greatest accomplishments anyone in the restaurant business could ever hope for. Some legacies are written in history books. Yours is written in every plate that comes out of that kitchen.

Everything was delicious, filling , and ready quickly.

The owner came over, broke down the menu with pride, and even made sure my wife could customize her order exactly how she wanted it. It's that kind of care that caught my attention. The food? Absolutely incredible. We were told to relax, take a seat, and the food came straight to us, hot and full of flavor. They checked in, laughed with us, and made us feel right at home. The ambience was on point with sweet Caribbean music pumping, real West Indies energy in the air. They were even thoughtful enough to check if the music level was good for our kids, which says everything about their heart. Honestly, it felt like we stepped out of Florida and got teleported straight to the islands. My wife was smiling ear to ear, the kids were doing their little dances, and my belly was happy, plus I had food to take home because the portions are generous. I was more than happy to spend my money at a place that truly gets it right. The prices were well priced also. We'll definitely be back for more goat roti, bussup, and veggies. Walking into this restaurant was like stepping into a doubles stop in Trinidad. The decor, music, smells all brought back memories of my time there. The space is large and spacious and very well kept. Looking at their menu, they have great weekly lunch specials all for about $8.00 with weekend specials. The doubles were good.
