As we entered the cafe we were lead to add our names to the waitlist. They are efficient at this place because we were seated about 15-20 after that! Once seated the service was top notch. Our waitress was kind and gave great recommendations on what to order. It didn't take long for our food to come out and we were pleasantly surprised by our dishes. The portion sizes were big and all the food tasted amazing. I personally got the Denver/western omelet that had the perfect balance of eggs and ingredients on the inside. The menu has a wide variety of options with many different dishes to choose from. The cafe has both breakfast and lunch which is always a plus. We were supposed to meet our friends here but they cancelled at the last minute. We decided to stay anyway as we had never eaten here. I had French toast which was pretty good-made with cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the Monte Cristo which was a French toast type sandwich. She didn't care for hers as the ham was quite fatty. She basically deconstructed the dish to trim all the ham as best she could. I suspect she may have been happier with eggs or pancakes. Service was pretty good. Family style restaurant with booths and tables for parties of all sizes :) My friend and I came at 8:30 on a Sunday. We decided to come early-ish to beat the Sunday breakfast rush and we were right to do so. Around 9:15 it started really getting packed and by the time we left there was groups waiting to be seated. They have a big menu and everything sounded good and was really fairly priced. I got the Mill Flapjack Combo which comes with 2 eggs, 2 sausage links, 2 pieces of bacon, and 2 pancakes. And honestly omfg these weee genuinely some of the biggest pancakes I've ever seen LOL. Everything was good and it came out fast. It wasn't anything crazy or extraordinary but meets expectations. Peppermill has been a favorite in the past so my daughter and I tried it again. The servers have been there for years and are all great. Christy was our server and was kind and friendly. I had the classic breakfast with ham sunny side up eggs and American fries. The ham was a thick slab and delicious. They even have a gluten free toast which is yummy. I have mixed feelings. I think this is a case of "you get what you pay for." They are not high priced, so don't expect it to taste as if it came from a Michelin chef. It reminded me of your typical greasy-spoon. I had the Meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. My wife got the Grilled Chicken salad, and we split an order of onion rings. My wife's salad was good and fresh, although the chicken was tasty, it was very dry. The bacon in the salad was good but chewy. My meatloaf was very good. The potatoes were almost certainly potato flakes rather than actually mashed potatoes. But still, I've had good ones, and bad ones prepped this way, and these were one of the better ones. The beef gravy left a lot to be desired. Probably made from a powdered soup base, or canned from a restaurant supply store. Not great, but OK. The onion rings were REALLY good. And not too many. An order is about 8 rings for $3. But a much more reasonable size and price than a lot of places. And I love it when you have the batter cling to the rings such that taking a bite does not result in pulling the whole onion out, leaving only the coating. And these held up just fine. NOTE: if you use a wheelchair, forget it if you want to use the restroom. Definitely not accessible. The room is down the hallway, turn left down another hallway, turn right to get into the room, no room to turn around or to back a wheelchair over the bowl. Also for the non-handicapped. The restroom door locks with a barrel bolt lock, so watch your kids or they can get trapped in there. All in all, it was OK for what we spent. I could not eat all my food, so the leftover will be my supper tomorrow rather than just leaving the food. So definitely good enough to finish up later. I will come back to check out the breakfast for sure. And why in the world does a place called the "Peppermill" have standard pepper shakers instead of having peppermills on the table? I mean, even just the cheapo McCormick ones would fit the bill! read more

This breakfast restaurant is as local as it gets! It was packed, so make sure to come early to get a seat on the weekends! The service was amazing, the waitresses all were nice and helped in every way possible to make my experience great! When ordering, you definitely get your moneys worth if not more. Portions are large depending on the dish. I got a skillet and it was amazing! Only critique I would give is that it had too much potatoes and not enough meat. It was also somewhat bland, but add salt to your tasting. Awesome place and I can see why it's so popular! read more

It's good. Not exceptional but consistently good, standard breakfast/lunch fare. We've visited several times and each time while I feel full when I leave I can't help but to be underwhelmed. On our most recent visit I split the double pancake, eggs and meat special with my daughter. The food was all Ok. The bacon was long overcooked and dried out, the sausage links were greasy and everything was plated very very basically. All edible though and nothing worth getting riled up about. Their daily special board offers some creative dining options The service is always very busy but friendly, everyone is smiling and doing their best to get orders out ASAP. They are always busy. Always. The wait area is tiny and you need to sign in on a notebook, watch your place because sometimes things get jumbled on the list especially if they are close to the bottom of the page. One thing that I wish they would change is the presence of the scented wax warmer by the cashier. (this last visit was sickeningly sweet cinnamon) As far as restaurants go breakfast is one of the most delicious smelling times of the day! The brewing coffee, the bacon, the buttered flattop all those natural smells that makes people go mmmm. The addition of a scented candle isn't needed and for me triggers an instant headache. Fresh cinnamon rolls would be so much better if that's the smell you want wafting through the diner. I'd probably be more inclined to give additional stars if it wasn't for the side of aspirin I need following each visit. As it stands it's A-OK hence the 3 stars. read more
