We were kayaking near by and wanted something to eat, so we stopped on in. The waitress was nice enough but did disappear for periods of time.. the drinks were ok but not very strong and hardly had alcohol in them. I'm in the service industry and do know this shouldn't be the norm. I do know some places do it to make a bit booze last a bit longer. The reason they're getting three stars is because the food was actually ok. The nachos were better then ok, they were outstanding, some of the best I've ever had. My mother agreed that what seemed like phyllo dough used for tortillas was better then the average nachos. The rest of the food was ok with the exception of my sisters meal which wasn't edible. So difficult to rate this business. My husband and I stumbled upon this place and really love their pizza. Their bartenders were on point until recently. On the nights we frequent, they have apparently replaced the old bartenders with Mike. Mike is a repulsive, inappropriate , over bearing and obnoxious--to name a few! He thinks it is standard conversation to talk about sex and sexual encounters with patrons. I was never more horrified the time we were there with a couple friends and he licked his fingers and pretended to rub his nipples. Every time we are there, he talks about sex and makes inappropriate comments, not only to me but others. We tried to go there tonight for their pizza (which is amazing-one of the best in the area ) but upon walking in and seeing he was working, we turned around and walked back out. I can not even believe he is still employed. The only reason this is getting 2 stars is because the owner is amazing and their pizza is the best around. read more

AMAZING FOOD!!! The staff is super friendly and the service was prompt and professional. When it comes to the bar, the bartenders really know what they are doing. I definitely recommend stopping in. The pizzas are are beyond worth it. Lots of food and bar specials during the week and weekends. Needless to say I'm becoming a regular. My husband and I had just moved to town when we decided to try this place out. I will never try it again. The aesthetic of the restaurant was not pleasing. Dark interior, disgusting old floors, dirty lamps above our food, old ugly wallpaper, you name it and it was probably old, gross, ugly, or dirty. My husbands burger tasted good but my chicken was disgusting. For what we ordered we paid far too much. The portion sizes were very small and the food was not tasty enough to charge $15.99 a plate. As we left, the waitress was outside smoking with the rest of the staff (who were all smoking as we entered...) and waved goodbye. We ordered an app ( fried mushrooms) and pizza. About 40 minutes in, I asked to check on our food and the guy came back and said it would be at least 15-20 minutes. 10 minutes later, the pizza came. We ended up eating the whole pizza without a second drink. Very weird at such a bar centric place. Pizza was just average. After we finished and waited another 15 minutes, I asked if we could get the check without the app we did not receive on it. Not a big fan. The décor was extremely dated and the tables were not that sturdy and the floors were mismatched. Need to put some attention into the interior. The food was OK. Could not find a piece of fish or milk in it to save my life. It was just plain awful unless you like potatoes with some grease floating on top. I ordered the fried haddock at $12.99. What came out of the kitchen was nothing more than disgusting. My plate had 5 pieces of haddock tail meat that was cooked to the point of being haddock jerky and probably weighed no more than four ounces (uncooked weight), some fries, and tasteless coleslaw. One in our party had the misfortune of ordering the baked haddock. Big Mistake! What came out of the kitchen was unrecognizable as baked haddock. It was almost the thickness of sole and so overcooked that the edges curled up! NASTY! The third member of our party was a bit more fortunate with her fried scallops. Although the "dinner" cost $16.99, there were FIVE, yes five, scallops, some fries coleslaw that was meh. This meal although passable as food was a rip-off. The waitress was OK but even her apologies could not make up for the sheer audacity of The Peppermill charging people for this kind of inferior food. Find somewhere else to go or get yourself a bag of stale peanuts but stay away from The Peppermill. read more

Went on a Saturday at 5. Place was busy with most tables filled. Ordered the baked stuffed haddock with soup and salad bar. Only two soups out. Italian Wedding and French onion. Both were mainly broth. Salad bar incredibly basic with sopping wet lettuce. Waited for my meal almost 40 minutes. Haddock portion was tiny and the crab stuffing was imitation and burnt. Mashed potatoes were instant and an incredibly small portion. My friends fried scallop meal consisted of six small scallops and a small amount of fries for 16.99. Portion sizes are tiny for the high prices. Felt ripped off when the bill came. Won't be back. read more

The Peppermill is a great restaurant with great homemade food for breakfast lunch or dinner. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like you're at home. The atmosphere is homey and quaint and the service is always top notch! Sue the owner is such a nice lady and always makes sure everyone is content! The Peppermill often has different specials in addition to what is on the menu which provides a great variety of options no matter what season you are in. Their New York Sirloin with the garlic butter and fresh sautéed vegetable medley is wonderful and their french onion soup is a very good and a great option too! Their desserts are homemade and scrumptious! I am never disappointed and always walk out happy and with a satisfied belly. This is a great place for the family with some fabulous homemade cooking that doesn't disappoint. They also have a bar in the same building where you can eat as well if you don't feel like eating in the dining room. This has something for everyone. read more

My family and I haven't been in a few months but that's only because we are trying to limit eating out. If I was ever disappointed in this establishment, I can't remember it. The food is excellent and the wait staff extremely pleasant. The owner always takes the time to visit our table and say hello; that's a personal touch that goes a long way with me. Well First of All Bring A Fly Swatter! We did lunch. The pepper and pizza mill are one in the same.we were one of about 10 people inside,waitress was friendly.I ordered Onion soup as an appetizer.. The soup was dark and full of onion but the salt content was so high it made it impossible to finish it. I ordered the Meat loaf dinner, my wife the chicken parm.We were given warm sliced bread 5 pieces.Was very good.The meat loaf could of been better ,who ever made it went to heavy on the bread crumbs because it masked the flavor of the beef.The chicken parm was delicous, served with ziti(her choice) the ziti was plentyful and the meal had plenty of cheese on it. THE FLY PROBLEM HAS TO BE ADDRESSED! WE COULDN'T EAT, THEY WERE LANDING ON OUR ARMS, HANDS AND PLATES. WE HAD NO LESS THAN 10-12 FLIES AT OUR TABLE, NOW WE KNOW WHY PEOPLE WERE DOING A CHEW AND SCREW. I will give them 1 more chance perhaps in the fall and try one of their pizza's or dinners. read more
