Mashed potatoes

Just because it has one star doesn't mean it's terrible! They just could improve on the flavor. My steak tasted like it barely had any seasoning on it. All I could taste was meat. The potatoes were very bland and watery. I think the only thing on my plate that had flavor was the squash. The prices are fair but not good for what the flavor is. I would try it again to give it another shot for sure.

We had a great time here! Nice space inside all beautifully decked out for the holiday. Staff was very friendly. The food was yummy! The bang bang shrimp were plentiful and we got some nice warm dinner rolls. I had the half chicken which was juicy and delicious. My guy had the prime rib which was well seasoned and perfectly cooked to his liking. Add a baked potato and done! Coke on tap!!

We arrived at Oak Street Bistro around 5:45, and there was a short wait, about 15-20 mins, which was perfectly acceptable. This was our first visit, as we always drive by and see the place packed and bumping. The decor was a bit older school (pictures below) but the set up was nice and classy. The inside fire place and lighting was actually very beautiful. The cutlery provided included a salad fork, an entree fork, a spoon and knife. They served bread, water, and a paper menu right off the bat. We got our beverages in after a short wait for the server. They were very busy after all, and being in the industry we totally understand. We started with an app of spinach dip, and then both got the cheeseburgers. The spin dip took a while, and then our server came to say he had dropped it at another table by mistake and it wouldn't be out until after the entrees. That's fine, I guess, not a huge deal. However when the dip did finally come out, it had the burnt charred taste to it. It was awful. We sent it back. It was taken off of the bill without being asked. The cheeseburgers however were fantastic! Absolutely delicious if I do say so myself, and my fiancé thought so as well. Some of the best burgers we've ever had to be honest. The prices here are a bit much to be honest, but I guess it goes with the ambiance and decor. While a tad over priced, it really was the best burger we've had in some time, and for that this review is 4 stars.

I went to the Oak Street Bistro and had an amazing meal. I had the prime rib which was delicious. My wife had fish which was amazing with a sweet fruit sauce. There were 8 of us all together and we all left full and happy! My compliments to Chef Mike!

Excellent food, great ambience, great drinks. A little pricey for my taste, $25 for two 3.5 in. crab cakes

Very nice place, and very comfortable. Food and service good. We don't stop there often but try to get there when we can.

Good food that is not pretentious. Wonderful bar that can handle a crowd. Server was attentive and friendly.

Great food, service and ambiance. We had not been there since pre-pandemic, so it was nice to be back.

We decided this evening to go to Shain's and give their seafood a try. The service was friendly and…read morequick (we got there before a bus arrived). My wife ordered the Scallop dinner special at $9.99 and I got a two way combo of shrimp and belly clams. The scallops turned out to be the small bay scallops (tasty but a bit of a disappointment). My clams were a bit overcooked but my shrimp while small were delicious. French fries were good and ample. Dessert was Shain's ice cream which is always excellent. Prices are very reasonable but the food choices do show how they keep costs down. I'd skip the scallops and go for shrimp and haddock instead. And expect the place to get busy! We're going to be back but maybe when tourists slow down.

Our Kennebunk hotel recommended Shain's as good and cheap. The prices were indeed very low, the…read moreportion very large, the interior very nice and the service very good. But sorry to say none of the food had really good taste. We thought the scallops were actually NOT from a real scallop shell but instead were pressed from fish into a scallop shape and then fried. No scallop taste. The fried belly clams were small, tough & chewy. The lobster roll was small but not much lobster taste. They are winning on super low prices but failing on taste and quality. If you want real Maine seafood pay a little more and get the real taste. But everyone seemed to love the ice cream.

I found this restaurant randomly as we drove from Vermont to Portland. This is the kind of find…read morethat I love - a local diner/cafe off the beaten path. If you find yourself in Sanford, this is a place that is a good find. The menu contains all of the breakfast and lunch standards. Breakfast is available until 2:00 pm, which is when the restaurant closes, so everything on the menu is sold from opening to close. My wife had the waffles ($4.99) and bacon. The bacon was crispy, but the waffles had a softer than usual (for us) texture. I'm not sure if that's normal, or just the batter and cooking that Sweet Memories does. However, it was tasty and she enjoyed it. I ordered the cleverly named "Big Breakfast" (8.89) that included: Three eggs served with two pieces, bacon, two sausages, a half slice a ham with home fries and your choice of toast or an English Muffin. The quality of the food is good and the prices are an amazingly good value. I'm sure that this same meal back home in Minneapolis would be more $15 for the Big Breakfast and $12 for the waffles and bacon. The service was a bit sluggish, but all in all, fine. I would love for a second location to open in Minneapolis, Minnesota, complete with the Sanford, Maine prices.
