Boy, did we need this place for dinner at the onset of a week's vacation. I've been talkin' up food in the Northeast to my wife for decades, and we had a 'less than' experience earlier in the day. Town Line was excellent, unpretentious, and delicious. Complete with an all-business hostess, who has probably been there since the place opened. I wanted two things... Full belly whole fried clams, and the Wifey to try a New England, traditional, baked Haddock dinner. We got what we wanted, and then some. She squeaked with pleasure seeing Pickled Beets as a side option, and we split a large Onion Rings with family from the area that joined us. The Hash Bowl was great. Plenty of hash. Eggs over easy could have been more runny, but were good. The best pet of the visit was the service. Our waiter, Mike was friendly, prompt and funny. Plenty of parking. The front portion of the restaurant had a TV and I was impressed it had a family show on, I think My Three Sons. Nice to not be bombarded with news at breakfast!!! read more

Been there 3 times, and everything has been great. food is delicious , service is friendly and professional, and all with reasonable prices. One small thing though, their potatoes are awesome, little baked new potatoes, then into the fryer I think, really yummy! They come with many breakfasts with choice of greens, or both for an extra dollar. Yesterday my wife ordered both I ordered just potatoes, I received about 6-7, my wife only got two with her greens. May have just been an oversight in the kitchen. Over all though our favorite breakfast go to restaurant! read more

Always a inviting environment, service is fast and friendly and they always seem to remember you which is nice. Lots of menu options and a full bar. The onion rings are a favorite starter and you can go wrong with the all you can eat haddock dinner (always fresh) or even a homestyle sub turkey dinner. Breakfast is just as good. read more

We visited this establishment on a cold, rainy Thursday evening. When we pulled up we thought it was closed, but noticed the one sign in the window. We ordered drinks and an app and they came out rather quickly. The "tenders" were dipped in a golden bbq that was to die for. The tenders seemed to have dark meat in several pieces... so that was odd. The waitress was polite and quick. The food was ok. It was no where near great. Just ok... you could tell a lot of it was frozen previously. Which is how a lot of places run, to be honest. Nothing was bad, the staff was nice, but the prices were a bit high for the quality of food you're being served. I would keep that in mind if you're looking for something real fancy or home cooked. Went for lunch with five other ladies today. Looked like two wait staff for the whole place. Arrived at 11:30, left at 12:45. Our food arrived cold and burnt. Three ladies got the open face turkey sandwich but couldn't cut it, the bread was so burnt. We pointed it out to the waitress and she said Oh well. That's the best we can do. Unacceptable. Town Line used to be a great place to get seafood. I order scallops and clams and they we so old and over cooked it was horrible. I complained to the waitress who sent over a women that which I think was the manager and said it was the vendor that are now getting the seafood from not the cook. Please it was old seafood period and way over cooked or reheated . I went this Saturday 09/27/25 to get the fish nuggets which have always been very good and they were horrible again. Different batter way over cooked and awful tasting. Why would you let you food go down hill. Even the cake that I used to get chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting was awful(hard all around the edges. Never again will I go there. read more

Massive waste of money, considering they are only serving cheap food. All fruit is frozen/thawed (not fresh), oatmeal was made with water and barely cooked, mimosa was gross and served in a beer glass. Hostess gave us napkins that were dirty from her hands and then the service was slow... Also no kid meals/prices, for being a "family restaurant." Portions were big! Had the steak bomb with peppers and onions, it was a little dry - usually a bomb comes with mayo? Roll was fresh! The refills for my friend's soda were always offered with a smile (I can't say exactly how his Reuben was, not usually my type of sandwich - the marbled rye looked good, the Swiss melted nicely onto the edges). So I am disappointed on two fronts. The first is that I have not been to this place before. The interior space is clean, comfortable and very welcoming. The group I was with ordered a variety of items. The chefs here are serving up some great items. The chowder as a starter was creamy, flavorful and chock full of clams. Chicken wings were juicy and nicely seasoned. Clam strips were house prepared and are on par for some of the best ones I have ever had Let us not forget the Ruben. Here again perfectly balanced with ingredients and on nicely toasted rye bread. As to the second regret, well that is that we did not save enough room for dessert. Showcased on a special board and in a glass cased were some awesome looking sweets. We will know better the next visit to pace ourselves so we can have that Happy Sweet Ending Thank You Town Line for offering up a great dining experience. Looking forward to seeing you soon ! Oh ... Been here twice. Food is okay. Last visit I found a nicotine gum wrapper in my drink. When I brought it to the server's attention, all they said was "how did that get in there?" I DO wish they went back to serving chocolate milk straight from the Harris Farm glass jar, I loved that! Dinner I'll give 2.5/3 stars. My husband's chicken for his chicken parm came really undercooked. We sent it back and the piece he got to replace it was RAW in the middle. You think they'd be extra safe the second time, but nope! I've only walked out on two places ever and this is the second. I didnt get the name of the server who didn't seem to care. This place has a HUGE menu, something definitely there for anyone, kids too. I have been here several times and always have a decent meal with good service. They make all their own desserts and I have tried several, all are outstanding especially the chocolate cake with PB frosting and the carrot cake. Very reasonably priced. Spacious and comfy booths, fairly clean, nice restrooms, great wait staff. Typical diner type food, comfort foods, fried foods, my husband loved the haddock chowder, I love their turkey dinner. This is a traditional country diner. Comfort food with no frills. Wait was ok on a busy Saturday night. Staff was busy, busy, busy! Ordered Country Fried Steak and it was tasty. Cut it with a butter knife so it was very tender. Country gravy was good as was the mashed potatoes. Waitress was attentive even though she was very busy. Overall it is a good place with good food. Our visit to Town Line last night was the most unpleasant dining experience in recent memory. Why two stars instead of the expected one-star rating? The food itself (once it eventually arrived) wasn't bad...not great but not stomach-wrenchingly awful. What was stomach-wrenchingly awful was the overall dining experience. This weight loss-inducing adventure began with a 35 minute wait to be seated. Arriving with a party of five on a late Saturday afternoon, this was to be somewhat expected but the extended tour of the waiting area unfortunately turned out to be the high point of our evening at Town Line. We couldn't help but notice other groups of the same size as ours or larger being seated ahead of us even after arriving well after us but perhaps Town Line offers call-ahead service to select customers. Not likely though; the seating hostess (who was also waiting tables) seemed disorganized and somewhat flustered as evidenced by her still not getting my name right after repeating it four times. Upon arriving at our table, the first thing we noticed was how loud the restaurant was; we're talking noise levels resembling a middle school cafeteria at lunch time. Of particular note were the occupants of a table about 25 feet away from us in a corner booth. Ever see the Oxford Casino commercials from a few years ago where the customers cheer, yell, laugh, and behave obnoxiously when winning a hand at the card table? It was much like that except with less gambling and far less tasty food. The two women at that table who bore a strong resemblance to middle-aged (and based on the number of cocktails we saw them throw back, likely alcoholic) former high school cheerleaders were extremely loud and became even louder as the evening went on. The piercing laugh they each emitted every couple of minutes was the equivalent of an aural ice pick and our appetizer became a helping of Tylenol. It was a good thing we we had this small but pain-relieving snack as we waited approximately 50 minutes for our meals to arrive after placing our orders. In all, we spent total of two hours and 15 minutes at Town Line of which only about 30 minutes involved eating. Admittedly, they seemed short on staff and according to a 2020 post on their Facebook page, they are looking for wait staff. What was unacceptable was the noise and overall chaos; the staff did nothing to bring the more boisterous diners under some degree of control in the interest of other customers and basic humanity in general. If one wishes to try out the somewhat expensive yet mediocre meal choices at Town Line, I suggest placing a take-out order but be sure to call it in about 90 minutes before you are hungry. read more

Town Line is a cute little cafe/restaurant in Waterboro. My husband and I have visted this restaurant a couple of times and each time our experience has been decent. They have really good bloody marie's, however, each time our eggs were overdone and pancake-y. However, the hash benedict is really good and is made with homemade hash, so that is definitely worth a try if you enjoy benedicts. Overall a decent spot for where it is located, but they need to fix some things when it comes to their breakfast. read more

Stopped here on Saturday morning for breakfast before a ride on the Harley's . The waitress Deb was amazing . Very personable and insightful about menu items . I had the special omelette of the day , apple chicken sausage with caramelized onions and and cheddar cheese . It was excellent with grilled home fries. Breads were all home made and I had the honey wheat which was so sweet you didn't need butter. Everyone else loved their breakfasts too . Reasonably priced great breakfast modern decor . Our server was sweet, accomodating and ensured we had everything we needed. Our drinks were delivered promptly followed by warm rolls with cinnamon butter. It's a family restaurant and it was busy, with many families actually. It's a home cooking kind of place, meat, potatoes and bar apps. Very little meat-free. I went with the oriental stir fry, oriental vegetables, teriyaki sauce tossed with brown rice. The rice was well cooked, the veggies well there was nothing oriental about them just frozen diced carrots, peas, corn and some broccoli. It was edible, but not not as described. Others in the group had steak tips which were okay and ravioli.. the sauce was good, the meatballs frozen but not served cold. It's close, so for a quick bite I might go back, but it wouldn't be my first choice for dinner. I'm sure I'll give them a try for breakfast some morning. read more

This was another first for me. I met up with a new found friend for lunch. Located in the middle of a fork in the road it's hard to miss. The outside looks like a diner,warm and inviting. The inside has a modern feel with a bar like room at the entrance. The dinning room,which was well lit, offers both tables and booths. We we're greeted in timely manner upon entering (there is also a wheelchair ramp) and seated within minutes. We were asked if we'd like a booth or a table.(They also offer outdoor seating in the warmer months too.) The waitress was friendly and welcoming. She mentioned what the specials of the day were. We were not interested in the specials. After about 5 minutes of reading their menu(a wide variety of offerings to choose from). From a kids menu to burgers and fries to pasta to seafood. I'm not sure if they sell alcohol though. I ordered the Fried Haddock with s baked potato and beets. My friend ordered Haddock, Onion Rings and Poutine fries. Our fish was cooked well. The batter was crispy and the fish was moist and flaky. Baked Potato was cooked to perfection. I've never had beets so I not sure what to think of them. My friend stated that her meal was tasty as well. Although your not supposed to melt the cheese on the Poutine they were good. The restrooms were very clean,well stocked and had a nice scent. Living in town we finally decided to give it a try, it was loud, like very loud making it hard to converse with my wife. They were either short on help, or just very slow at every step, drinks, taking order, and delivery of food very long wait. Difficult to enjoy the wait when it's so loud. Then no follow up during meal asking if it was OK. Not refilling drinks. We will not return. read more
