Pepper's and one other dining place are your only options for food in the Midland International Airport. Given how busy the airport can be with the prolific oilfield being situated in Midland/Odessa, you can imagine how busy it can get here. I understand it's busy but every time I've been here the guy at the bar that handles drinks and food orders is always super short with people and rude. When I was giving my food order he curtly cut me off and asked for my name. No sense of urgency at all here every time I visit. Prices are reasonable for food but my bottle of water was $6.99. Geez. The chicken taco salad I ordered was actually pretty decent. It was simple but the chicken was seasoned well and there were plenty of greens. For the price, it's ok. It was priced like regular airport food, I would be upset. The music being played here is insanely loud. It is being played through a portable speaker and they play it loud enough to hear throughout the restaurant and then some. If you are seated by it, don't expect to have a conversation. If you're in a hurry, I would not risk getting a drink or food here but if you have plenty of time before your flight, it's not a bad place to drink and eat. Edit: This place is a joke. My flight was delayed significantly so I was issued a meal voucher at around 6:00PM. Looking at their website and other sources, I verified that they close at 7:30PM. Place is absolute trash. They have signs everywhere that say to order at the bar and scan menu here at the tables. Stood at the bar for 15 minutes as the bartender with the limp walked by me atleast 10 times without acknowledgment. Finally just points at me with a disgusted face, told him I wanted the nachos with chicken and before I could even finish my sentence he said we aren't serving food and just stared at me. Almost everybody on the restaurant was eating food including the people at the bar that I was standing next to. Could tell he just didn't want to serve me cause he was busy. Went to the midland airport location before a flight today and the guy bartending was very rude acted like it was a blessing for him to serve us. He was looking at the screen back toward the bar talking and expected us to hear him. Along with his gestures and snapping at us to give him the card! ANOTHER AIRPORT NACHO REVIEW "Umm, excuse me, waiter? I think you dropped some toppings on this plate of chips!" Chips are the base of a good nacho, but the ones I was served today were thin and crispy- fine on their own, but not muscular enough to build a #perfectnacho. For my protein I opted for the steak, but I may of well have chosen ground beef or chicken because the steak didn't really taste like anything. My nachos were not prepared in a kitchen as much as they were an assembly line in a bar hidden behind a partition. The whole place had a weird vibe- when I arrived to the restaurant and ordered the loudspeaker was playing "Stan" (sad) and when my food was served I was listening to "My Humps" (horny). They opted for liquid-y nacho cheese which was fine, but of course melted fresh-grated cheese would be preferred. My final straw- and to me this is really just an appalling laziness- my sour cream was served not as a scoop on top nor a side vessel but rather in the form of a single-serving squeeze packet that you tear open like ketchup. Being that this is one of 2 places in this airport your choices are limited. Staff is always running thin. The waitress looked less than thrilled to be there. I'm almost positive that their salsa is Pace Picante. But their guacamole is pretty good. I've not had anything other than those 2 items. You don't usually expect to find a really good meal at an airport eatery. Pepper's Mexican Grill, located at Midland International Airport, is a rare exception. The burritos were piping hot, very flavorful and well-constructed. My companion's salad was fresh, a smidgen watery, but with flavorful chicken -- made better with the addition of their salsa (added upon request). The house margaritas were ice cold and flavorful. Can I use flavorful in a sentence again? Just seems appropriate in what are usually bland airport restaurants. Service was above average and the staff was friendly. While waiting for my flight we decided to grab a bite to eat and something to drink. Much to our dismay we had to go to the bar to order, while others around us were getting service. When the food came out they yelled my name instead of bringing it to the table like they had to the couple next to us. The house margarita we had was just lime juice and triple sec and not even a hint of tequila. The soup came out lukewarm; the cheese wasn't even melted. We are from Ohio and bought a home in Gainesville, florida for the Winter months. Pass Pepper's restaurant all the time and thought we would stop and try it. What a mistake!!!!! Couldn't get waited on, asked for water 3 times until another person came over to help us. The kid that was supposedly our server was to busy on his cell phone. When we finally did get our food another person had to bring it to us, the kid was in the back playing with his cell phone, we could see him from our table.
