The only thing that was good was the biscuits and gravy! I got the chicken fried steak with eggs! Never ever again! The chicken fried steak was stale and old! They pounded it with pepper for days! The hash browns were old and soggy! The scrambled eggs are from a bag, not fresh! My husband got the Menudo, he was done for! The tripe was not cleaned right! The menudo had a super weird taste! Everything is always good worth the weight to get in there although the prices are getting a little outrageous but overall a very good experience. One of the waitresses is not very good but my favorite waitress is slender. White female is the best one of all and really no complaints. read more

Food is okay, but they also charge a $1.50 to use any type of payment card. We usually pay cash when we do go there, but we had been to the farmers market and used what cash we had. The smart aleck young girl that answers the phone, rudely said, "well that notice is on the menu and the front inside door". Well, they are busy on Saturday mornings and everyone's trying to get around people and trying to maneuver to their table. WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR SOMETHING ON THE MENU THAT STATES YOU CHARGE $1.50 to use a card!! HEY LITTLE CASHIER, open your mouth and tell people that so we have a choice every time. It does NOT COST $1.50 to your business to use that service either. You are making a small fortune. It's DISHONEST imo. So listen up, if you tell people and they start paying by cash, you'll have to keep more cash on hand and go to the bank more often. So, be honest and upfront with your CUSTOMERS, and WARN THEM first. Your food is not anything special and I will not be back. And btw, had I known you charged that, I would have ADJUSTED my tip to $1.50 less.... So we can also play your game! read more

Excellent breakfast! I ordered the pork chop and eggs. Perfectly cooked and even though the placed was packed the food came out pretty quick. My wife order the pioneer special which is eggs (your way) bacon, sausage, ham, and potatoes. Also includes a pancake, waffle, or biscuits and gravy. We have passed this place so many times over the years and never thought to give it a try until today. We are so glad we did. Service is just as good as the food. Awesome place read more

My family has been here for years and every time I eat there it's always packed the pancakes are good now the menudo is always good the place is nice but some spoilers for the later in time there is gonna be a snow cone stand ran obviously by not adults kids the workers kids now I recommend to visit the snow cone stand when it gets built I live in Austin that's almost 6 hours away so if I go there a lot maybe you should visit it too Almost my whole family works there grandpa is the chef my Tia is the receptionist and everyone else is either a server and drink peeps or work in the back of the restaurant to know how hard they work just to make the customers feel like they are in good hands and are happy they work till 2 but my grandparents wake up at 3 In The Morning that's early they do that to get soup and other food ready like food that is like needs to get boiled like menudo and other soups. The chile verde was really REALLY good, but everything else was pretty bland.No flavor at all to the eggs and potatoes. The lady had their MBRC, which is meat, beans, rice and cheese all in a bowl with some cornbread on the side. I think I'll get that next time its cold (if that ever happens). I have been driving by this place for 2-years. The place is always packed, I thought as of last week. I brought a couple friends around 8am and noticed the dirt parking lot, so we arrived. Big place, classic blue collar family restaurant. Friendly folks, after we sat, got a hot basket of crisp tortilla chips, with a bowl of salsa FOR EACH OF US. NOW THAT'S A GREAT WAY TO START ANY MEAL. To make a long story short, we all ordered the chicken fried steak. 10-minutes 3-seconds it arrives. Crisp, hot, country gravy is pkg made, which is OK (I'm unsure why they don't make it from scratch , but I don't work there. Anyway, the hash is old, so no crispy hot, but eatable. Servers are very friendly, chips, steak were hot crispy and good. The hot chips upon sitting is a major plus, restrooms are clean, cashier is friendly. Over easy eggs are perfect. Biscuits are a hot, soft white biscuit which is great with some jam. improvements are a fresher crisp hash brown. make the country gravy from scratch. I'm gonna bring the fam here to see if it gets better. If not the Denny's makes a better hash, which is a game changer for me. read more
