I had a very good experience with Peppers. The people who helped me identify the right tub were very helpful and not pushy. Pricing was clear. Lots of levels of price for budget choices. Installed it on my site. they provide free testing and advice if you buy chemicals from them. If you want to buy your own chemicals, there is a $10 charge, which seams reasonable. They do not install but supply you with recommended installers. Their recommended installer did not level the ground so the sand washed out to the point I could no longer vacuum the pool. I called them and Roger came out and told me that they could fix it for $1,100. I seriously was already down $9,000. I didn't have the money to fix it so it grew trees and everything else. I decided I would like to sell my home, my choice, pay to remove it and the sand, then landscape and try to grow grass or just fix it. I've personally purchased the new liner, bottom liner. They will not even come out and level it. So lame!!! read more

First we were never told when you finance the hot tub you have to put 25% down until we had been approved and came in to sign paperwork. Second when the hot tub was delivered. We asked for it to be placed in a spot. First time hot tub owner thought it was the best spot. The delivery guy never mentioned the whip to run electrical was too short in that spot. When we called to ask about them moving it so it would work. We were told it would be an extra $300 cash and it was our electricians fault for putting the whip too short. Ummm it was placed at the length your paper told us. Why didn't the "expert" who offered to hook it up tell us it was too short to begin with. Stay away from this company. read more

I purchased an above ground pool less than a year ago. Within the year, my pump needed to be replaced, which they covered the cost. Now I have issues with my skimmer leaking. Two days ago a placed a call for service. They took all of my information and the lady said she would have John call me for follow up....no call. I repeatedly called back and John was never available..."this is a busy time of the year". They seem to be happy taking your money, but terrible follow up with warranty work and service. read more

I've dealt w Roger Land in the past when I bought my pool and he was pleasant but the new owner, his daughter, Kim, is Rude and from what I've seen in reviews and social media posts, she's that way with most of the customers. I feel bad for Roger that he left his company to such a bad seed in his family. I called up there to get help on my pool liner a couple of years ago because it was wrinkling badly after 2 years and I had these sharp areas poking in on the bottom and sides of the pool liner after install that their install tech new York Steve put in who cussed at his workers and bitched the whole time cuz he was mad he had to do it so quickly, which is prob why it got wrinkles. And Kim sent a tech out, John, who told me "oh its prob just ur ph" And the the things poking in the liner were prob worms or something in the ground causing it. lol no it's not, I hv a pool guy come out and take care of my pool. It was her brother , Johnny rabeler, at the time and I was told it was the pool install /liner install that was the problem. And Anyway, I complained trying to tell her, no it wasn't my PH , it's the install. Kim said I was rude, lol, no she was rude. SO Kim banned me from the Peppers store told ne I was no longer allowed to come to the store for anything, pool water testing, warranty service. They wouldn't take care of any warranty repairs nothing. She wld send me my warranty in the mail. But that's it. So I hv a pool w no warranty to be taken care of by peppers pools&spas, who installed it. NICE SERVICE FROM PEPPERS HUH? I still hv the letter she wrote me stating so. Last summer I had to buy a new liner because the wrinkles were so bad and I had to pay Dustin Westphal, one of Peppers workers, who does side work, to install it. It was during pandemic, liners were hard to find, parts n labor cost me over 2k. I hv video of the entire break dwn of liner to see what was under it, how ground was under it. It wasn't level at all, the pits, and the pokes in liner were definitely from the install, the wrinkles were because they didn't suck the air out, no vac was ever used when they installed my pool. I was out there the whole time. They never did everything that was done this time at all. They nvr leveled the ground. Dustin smoothed out the ground perfectly this time. I hv video of the new being installed and him saying exactly what Steve did wrong and telling me to please not record him saying how Peppers really f'd up my pool and shld be paying me to put the new liner in and how Johnny rabeler even said Peppers shld but he couldn't do anything because his sister Kim wouldn't help me because she banned me cuz I called her out on the truth. I hv all the proof and that on video. I cld sue Peppers easily. But I just want the money for the liner install and the ban released. And my whole review wld be different if that lady apologized. But she won't cuz that's how she is. SO DONT BUY FROM PEPPERS CUZ IF YOU PISS KIM OFF SHE WONT STAND UP TO HER WARRANTY AND BANN YOU FROM HER STORE. OH AND THERES MORE. SHE has some nice pool installer techs working for her, some good ole tweakers, one they call " long hair" lol, Dustin Westphal ( who also does side work for them ) and her brother Johnny . Wouldn't recommend any of them touch your pool or install it, they will rip you off. This so clld "long hair" guy threatened me to do damage to my pool and to warn all pool stores to not do business with me because one of their workers , Dustin Westphal who does side work also did some work for me on the side and did a no call no show on me after only doing half the job and I refused to pay . So that's the kind of business PEPPERS POOL & SPA runs here. They threaten people as well. Well let me tell you, Peppers has quite the reputation already with all the other pool stores in town, and let me tell you....ITS NOT A GOOD REPUTATION...THEIR A JOKE TO ALL THEM. THEY LAUGH WHEN THEY HEAR THE PEPPERS POOLS NAME AND THE EYE ROLL. CAUSE THEY CANT STAND THEM. . Go to Leslie's pool instead. Trust me you will get better service there. I contacted Kim @ Pepper's in late October when my 14 year old hot tub gave out. I was desperate for a replacement and due to the pandemic hot tubs were in extremely short supply. I had called at least 20 other local retailers before I stumbled upon Pepper's. Pepper's had recently started carrying Caldera spas and had a shipment arriving in mid-December. Kim was extremely knowledgable and helped me compare features and functions. I landed on the perfect product for my needs. I was most interested in having it installed before Christmas so that I could enjoy it with one of my children who was visiting. Kim worked diligently to make sure that it was installed during a very busy week. I have had a couple of questions and she has been extremely responsive. We did a thorough search on line and visited a number of local spa shops. We got conflicting info from some shops on pump size, jets etc. Roger at Pepper's seemed most reliable as far as information goes. My wife actually sat in one of their tubs to feel the jet/pump output. The spa was delivered on time, setup was quick, we were in the spa that evening. We used their recommended electrician to install a new box and line, all done without problems. Staff at the store and delivery crew pleasant. This is a business to avoid. Roger Land seems like a nice guy, but it ends there. We spent nearly $1800 in spa repairs with Pepper's. It took over 6 months for the work not to be finished. Spa did not work properly. Incompatible parts were used. There were nine missed appointments over a four month period. This is the most unprofessional business I've come across in a long time. Would not take back parts that did not work and when trying to deal with the owner to get new parts he told me he didn't need to sell me parts and threw them in the garbage and flung my parts all over the floor behind the counter. It was all very strange. You would be better off buying what you need from the various other pool supply stores in town than deal with unscrupulous, unprofessional and flat out rude ownership.
