So here's what I'll say about this restaurant. Everything seems to be made with intention, the flavors just weren't everything I wanted for the caliber of the restaurant. Do not get me wrong, I am giving it 4 stars for a reason, but that's why I'm not giving it 5. To start, we got the scones, which were my favorite part of the meal. They weren't too cheesy, and so unique and tasty. For our app, we got the prawns. Taste just wasn't worth the $30 something we spent for them. For my main, I got the branzino. Fish itself was lovely and cooked perfectly. The sauce it came with was complex and tasted good, but it was very sweet and there was too much of it. The couscous was swimming in it and I just felt like it took over the dish entirely. My boyfriend was a big fan, but he likes sweeter things more than me. He ordered the steak and liked it very much. Our meal was still solid, but not planning to come back on our next trip to Charlotte. read more

At least once a week, I take a night off from cooking. This week, my husband and I really wanted something new, a place that we haven't tried yet and we landed on Peppervine. This was during the week and later in the evening so when got there, we were able to get a table on the patio with no wait. The weather here in Charlotte has been amazing this past week and it's too lovely to be inside. The patio at Peppervine feels like a secluded little haven. The glass-enclosed fire pit was going and the atmosphere was lively so the evening was wonderful from the get-go. Surveying the wine menu, I noticed an option to "be surprised" with a glass of wine chosen for you. As it turned out, the wine was chosen by the General Manager and Wine Director for Peppervine, Tommy. He brought a glass of Portuguese Vinho Verde and explained the characteristics of the wine and why it feels, on the palate, like it's slightly effervescent. Tommy is charming and the wine was delightful. We moved on to ordering, and the preference at Peppervine is that you order all at once and they stage your meal for you. It was nice to order and be done with it. It was staged very well, and our service was excellent. We started with pimento scones, fried oysters from the menu, and their tuna tartare which was a special that evening. All three were perfectly balanced and hit the right notes of savory, bright pops of acidity, combinations of textures, and being very visually appealing. We were a little indulgent on the apps so I went with a small plate for my entre and chose the Spanish Octopus. It is a flavor explosion in the best possible way. The octopus was perfectly cooked and tender accompanied by a beautiful carrot romesco, fingerling potatoes, thinly sliced brussels sprouts, and crispy bits of chorizo. The chorizo and harissa give it just a kiss of spice that, for me, make it something truly special. I cannot recommend Peppervine enough, and we will definitely be going back! Soon. read more

We had the pleasure of having Ed as our server. He was absolutely fantastic. Great recommendations and knowledge of the menu! You order all of the food at once and they time the delivery as you work your way through your meals. Food was delicious! Short rib and lamanche pasta were incredible. Excellent upscale dining experience with great service. We came on a Wed night around 6:30 (had a reservation) and the place had plenty of seating - but larger groups started showing up and the place was almost full. Beer selections were narrow since it's more of a wine place - but they did have an IPA on tap that fit the bill. We started with the Elote Cauliflower ($16) and it was flavorful and a healthy serving. We also ordered the Yeast Rolls ($7) since everyone seemed to be getting them - we weren't fans (didn't seem fully cooked). My bride ordered the Verlasso Salmon ($29) and she really enjoyed it - it was well cooked/prepared. I ordered the Boar Bolognese ($25) and it was really tasty. It was our anniversary, so they brought us out a complimentary Key Lime pie and my wife said it was really good. Service from Brad was outstanding and super friendly. They have a very nice decor and upscale feel. The staff is courteous and kind. We ordered the little gem salad and the 24 hour braised short rib. The salad was a little plain in flavor. I didn't find the flavors in the dressing to stand out too much. But the ingredients were fresh and the flavors refreshing. The 24 hour short rib was excellent. Very soft and the accompanying vegetables were very tasty. To be honest they're shareable plates but I think one appetizer and one main was enough even for two. For dessert we got the hazelnut bar. It's very tasty. The donuts at the table next to me also looked good but I had to mind my calories and not get two desserts. In short, this was a great dining experience across the board. After hearing many great things about Peppervine, stopped in to use an anniversary gift card. From start to finish, arrival to departure, Peppervine is an experience that you should have. The menu is super eclectic, especially in the manner in which it's presented. There are a variety of exotic dishes such as boar and octopus, but there are also various meats/poultry, seafood, salads etc. But all of the dishes are prepared in such a different way that peaks your interest. They also have an excellent selection of wines by the glass or the bottle! The staff is super friendly and accommodating! They explain the restaurant's menu concept and shares suggestions based on your palate, hunger level, etc. it's truly an experience that you should try! And the restaurant makes you feel like you're out of the country on vacation, which is a VERY nice feel, despite the pandemic. read more

It baffles me as to why I have not discovered this restaurant sooner. From the moment you walked in, this restaurant is beautiful. The bar looked hip and inviting. Our drinks were Lemon Drop Martini and Old Fashion, both were well made so we had a few. I tried the signature yeast rolls but thought it was undercooked. The smoked Cauliflower soup was divine. Creamy but still light with smoky well seasoned taste. We also had Spanish Octopus as a starter and it was one of the best tasting Octopus we have had in a while. It was tender, smoky, and paired perfectly with the mole Amarillo. For main course we had Boar Bolognese and 24 Hour Short Ribs. Both were delicious but the Short Ribs was the star. The Short ribs was super moist and tender and I really enjoyed the Udon Asian flavors. We shared Caramel Panna Cotta for dessert and that was a perfect way to end our meal. It was super creamy and rich without being too sweet. The service here was impeccable. Our water never ran dry and someone was always close by when we needed anything. My husband and I came here for our anniversary. I only heard reviews and never been here before. The space was beautiful, the restaurant was full, and the wait staff was attentive. The owner dropped by our table as well. We ordered the pimento cheese scones with sorghum butter and pepper jelly. These were amazing.! We had intended to try their Prix Fixe menu ( 3 course dinner for two plus a glass of wine for 116.00) but the Elk was not offered so we ordered a la carte. My husband also ordered the yellowfin tuna tartare. He was very happy. For our entrée, I ordered the mushroom agnolotti and thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was delectable. My husband ordered the Elk Rack. It was served on cream corn Brussels mushrooms with a bordelaise. It was very good. For dessert, we had the peach cobbler zeppole donuts. it was a very interesting twist on a traditional southern dessert. I would recommend. All in all, it was a great meal. Have wanted to try the food here for so long now. We had an incentive when a friend gave a gift card as an anniversary gift last year, but.. COVID. Anyway, finally tried it and we were really impressed. The restaurant is hidden at the back of Piedmont Row but has the cutest ambience. Didn't know quite what to expect from the outside but I love the decor. Reminds me of a swanky hotel restaurant. The staff is super friendly; our server was great, informative and attentive. He gave us a heads up that they like to bring out each course separately and that the plates are meant for sharing. We started with cocktails. I had the Baja breeze, which surprised me with the smoky flavor thanks to the mezcal. It was different but very good. He also brought out a portion of yeast rolls which literally melted in your mouth! I will say that they were super tiny, much smaller than they look in the photos. We had the Bibb lettuce salad as an app and it was really tasty, the blue cheese added the perfect flavor. Next up was the lumache pasta. It was tasty, although the lemon flavor was a little strong for my taste, but they weren't skimpy with the shrimp and I appreciated that. We also had the Thai spare ribs, which I was probably most excited about. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the small size of the ribs and the amount of fat on them too. Our server said more than once that this dish was the largest of the small plates, which added to my disappointment. You get 4 bones, but due to the small size it's barely enough for 1 person, let alone two. For my main course I had the N.C. Flounder and it was delicious! It was on a bed of mashed veggies with cabbage, bacon and apples. It was so flavorful I wished I had more. The portion was slightly on the small side, but with the apps we had I was ok. The portion of fish was enough, it's just that there weren't many veggies to accompany it. Hubby had the NY strip and said it was really good. In general I would say the portions are on the small side for the price you pay for a meal here. I understand the pricing due to this being the South Park area, but if you don't order a couple of appetizers to go with your main course, you may be looking to stop at Chick-fil-A on the way home. Not ideal after spending so much on a meal. Because of this I'm not sure I'd return for dinner, but it was an awesome experience and I really liked the food. This restaurant is amazing and exceeded my expectations in every way!! You can't go wrong with any dish. For bread, we got the scones and rolls and you have to try them! The sweet butter that complements the rolls is to die for. For appetizers, we got the spare ribs, tuna tartare, and pork belly. They were all amazing. The spare ribs were so tender, the tuna tartare was perfectly balanced, and the pork belly had amazing beets and sauce on it. For entrees, we got the swordfish, pork chop, two pastas, and short rib. The lumache pasta and boar bolognese were exceptional!! I never find pastas the highlight of my meals but they definitely were. Perfect balance of flavors. For dessert, we got the sticky toffee pudding, apple cobbler and cheesecake. Definitely get the sticky toffee pudding and apple cobbler. The cheesecake you can skip. Service was also 10/10. I was told by close family that Peppervine is the closet thing to a Michelin star restaurant that Charlotte has so I had to try it. We made a reservation on open table for a Thursday evening. We were seated right away. As I sat down I really enjoyed taking in the ambiance and decor. Our waitress came up right away. We ordered drinks. We then got an overview of the menu and went ahead and ordered all of our food at once. We went with the cauliflower, yeast rolls, thai ribs, and Bolognese. Everything was delicious. We had a great meal and experience. The restaurant is somewhat modern and mature without being pretentious. No white table cloths here. Noise level was good, definitely not too loud. My biggest complaint was the server suggested we order everything at once including a couple small dishes and large dish for each person saying they would space things out and make sure there were no lulls. The only lull was before desert and they didn't space out the small plates at all, all 4 came out simultaneously and was too much to eat without having something get cold. Yeast rolls were really good. I can see how someone may think they were undercooked but we loved them, soft inside, good texture outside. Smoked Cauliflower soup - was very good, had great smoky flavor, one of the highlights for us. Green Curry Hot Pot- Monk Fish and Mussels was good, had some spice, potatoes weren't anything special. Monk was nice and mild. Thai Pork spare ribs- good flavor, got cold kind of quickly, 4 ribs, didn't live up to the hype for me. Fried Oysters- these were nice and light and crispy, good flavor, buttery and mild. Mushroom Agnolotti- Crramy buttery, and a touch earthy inside the ravioli with the mushrooms. It was good, honestly we ordered too much food and had to take most of this to go. It is a bit of a heavy dish, the manager did say this was his favorite dish. 24 hour short rib- my favorite dish, very tender and easy to easy. Melt in your mouth. The waiter explained that the menu changes season to season. To start with we got the yeast rolls and the pimento cheese scones. The yeast rolls were good, but I would probably skip next time as they aren't too unique. The pimento cheese scones though, my favorite thing we got (they were so good I got an order to go). They came with sorghum butter, salted butter and pepper jelly. They were so good, you need them. For entrees, he suggested to get a few and share, so we did. We ordered the pork belly to start, and I will say the pork belly was extremely tender. It was topped with an apple parsnip purée that was fantastic. The next entree we got was the veal ragu. This was my favorite of the entrees. The handkerchief pasta was a first for me, and was just like a big sheet of pasta. The veal sauce was delicious and not overly heavy. The last entree we got was the 24 hour short rib. It was good, but not great. It wasn't as tender as I was expecting, and at $34 it was the most expensive entree. We looked at the dessert menu, but nothing WOWed us, but they brought me a complimentary key lime tart for my birthday (it was so yummy). My husband and I had been wanting to try Peppervine ever since they opened, and we finally had time for the trek to SouthPark during our Christmas break. We had an absolutely phenomenal dining experience, and everything was perfect, from the beverages to the food, service, and overall dining experience. We started with a Peppervine Old Fashioned for my husband, and a Tongue That'd for me. Both drinks were sufficiently strong, and thankfully, my drink wasn't overly sweetened. We shared five dishes, listed in order of my favorites - 1. Spanish octopus 2. Boar bolognese 3. Smoked cauliflower soup 4. Scallops 5. Sichuan pork belly All of the dishes were exceptional, possibly excluding the pork belly, which was a heavy dish with the rice "porridge." The flavors were good in this dish, though. The octopus was just so tender, and the mole tasted almost like a spicy Indian curry. The spaghetti squash was a perfect accompaniment for the octopus. The boar was a close second in my opinion (although my husband choose this as his top dish). The sauce was so full-bodied and complex, and the creamy lemon ricotta added so much flavor. While I'm eating fewer carbs these days, I thought the pappardelle was worth the calories. The scallops were a tad salty, but they were cooked perfectly, and I loved the brussels sprouts and squash. If I were dining solo and could only get two items, I'd choose the smoked cauliflower soup and the octopus (for one lighter and one heavier item). Throughout the meal, our server was very attentive. Plates were cleared by staff as soon as we were done, and we were brought clean silverware numerous times. The dining room is expansive, the tables are well-spaced, and we were very comfortable. There are a few seats outside, but they don't have a heater. We had an amazing experience, and highly recommend Peppervine. Date Night before Christmas! My boyfriend and I wanted to buy each other a dinner out on the town as a special treat for a Christmas present for each other and Peppervine was such a lovely experience! Our server and wait staff was super friendly and helpful and ninja quick and placing and removing everything from drinks to food the entire night. It was very romantic and we enjoyed our meal immensely. They took the effort to pair meals with wines and we now have a new white wine will add to our personal favorites! We started with the yeast rolls, little gem salad and yellowfin tuna tartare. We both agreed the gem salad was fresh and bright with holiday flare. The tuna was high quality and we enjoyed it but it wasn't more than the same level of sushi flavors we are used to so it didn't add anything new or interesting flavor wise. We loved our main courses, I had the lamb pappardelle and my boyfriend had Bison pasta but they were both delicious and we thought the sauces were full of rich flavor. I visited Peppervine for my birthday this past Thursday. We were seated promptly and the restaurant was truly beautiful inside. Very elegant decor and this restaurant definitely gave off an upscale feel. The food left much to be desired, however. We started off with the yeast rolls and pimento cheese scones. I love the variety of spreads for the scones and the yeast rolls were pretty good, though they were a bit too salty for me at times. The General Tso's Cauliflower was probably one of my favorite dishes of the evening. Perfect flavor with a nice crispness. The burrata disappointed me GREATLY. I was so excited for all the flavors from the corn and peach salsa paired with the cheese but all I got was burrata and a piece of sourdough that had become soggy from a bland salsa. I didn't touch the dish again after the first taste. Definitely not worth $27. My mushroom agnolotti was delicious after having it sent back to the kitchen to be reheated. I'm vegetarian so I didn't try the ribs or the scallops but no one complained, nor raved about them so I assume they were just okay. The peach cobbler donuts were also underwhelming, tasting more like peaches and donut holes than a peach cobbler donut. The service was pretty attentive and the sommelier was a great touch though we ultimately stuck to cocktails instead of wine. The complimentary sparkling wine for my birthday was nice and the El Mago and Misty Eyed Margarita were both great. I probably won't be back but it was an interesting experience. We were seriously impressed. The interior is like a livingroom. Neutral colors and interesting lighting. A good date night place. The meal sizes are a bit small (even if you get a large plate) but if you get appetizer and dessert you should leave satisfied. We started off with the pimento cheese scones and sorghum jelly. Our dinner companions got the pork tenderloin with chutney which was amazing, and the shrimp pasta which was good. For dessert, hubby got the butter cake, which was fine. I got the turtle tart which was rich and decadent. One dinner companion enjoyed the sorbet trio. Our waitress was very pleasant. We also got a visit from the restaurant's smiling Sommelier. He good naturedly teased our friend about ordering a Sautern. When my friend told him it reminded him of the ice wines he had at home, the Sommelier also brought back a small glass for him to try "on the house". It was very good and had a caramel finish IMO. Cocktails were dowsed in liquors overpowering any alcohol (I like mezcal so this is no good). Food was underwhelming on all accounts. Branzino was under seasoned and the bed of veggies were cooked but refrigerator cold (this took 45 minutes to get to our table). The Misty Eye Margarita had a slight kick that was delicious to me. I requested the bartender to make it a little sweeter so it was perfect for me. The plates are all shareable so you can taste a few things. We started with the yeast rolls which I really liked. They were super soft and moist. I would definitely recommend the rolls. We moved to the little gel salad next with pecans and apples. The salad was good but I was expecting a little more flavor to the dressing. We tried the lumache pasta next. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. I still thought the pasta sauce could use a little more flavoring. The last item was the Thai spare ribs which were very flavorful. They were very tender. Peppervine was a fantastic experience. As soon as we sat down we were welcomed by our fabulous server, Crystal. The wine list here is excellent but I opted for a cocktail instead. The cocktails were very good. I first had the Spring Forward and then for my second drink I tried the margarita at Crystal's recommendation. Both were good but the margarita was amazing! My friend and I shared the pimento cheese scones and then Boar Bolognese and an order of short ribs. For dessert I had a new peach thing and it was unique and delicious. So I chose this place to go for our Valentine's date (we always go the weekend prior to or following the actual Valentine's day!), primarily because it seemed to have a snazzy ambiance...perfect for a special occasion. I booked our date well in advance through Open Table, and arrived 10 minutes early. Then here's the thing that really ticked me off. The restaurant was half empty when we arrived early (6 pm RSVP), yet the host leads us upstairs, where there was practically ZERO ambiance. Literally hidden from the entire restaurant, with no views to anything (except for the bathroom?), not to mention somewhat claustrophobic, with very low ceilings. I didn't get this at all. It's not as if we showed up looking like crap, in jeans or anything...in fact, my husband was even wearing a sports jacket, whereas I saw some guests in hoodies and wind jackets! BTW, in my Open Table RSV's, I always include notes on seating preference...mentioning AWAY from bathrooms, preference IN the central areas, NOT back in private rooms! I basically told them that we wanted to move downstairs...and indeed, we were reseated in one of MANY empty tables. Again, why upstairs in such crappy seats? Especially when I booked my date so in advance?!? Again, I picked this restaurant because of its ambiance...then only to get seated in an area that had NONE?!? Just beyond ticked. For a normal occasion, bad seating may not have been a big deal...but again, this was our Valentine's date. Excuse me for being a Diva on this occasion! From this point, there was no way I was going to rate this restaurant higher than 4 stars...even if they offered the finest of foods. Well, the menu was interesting...but disappointing at the same time. The options were rather limited. Guess I expected a bigger menu. My husband asked the waiter how they would categorize the foods, and he said "Progressive American". My husband and I thought it was more fusion...but it did have a heavy American bistro styling to all the foods. I decided to try their Charred Korean Beef Rib. My husband, who seemed quite disappointed with the menu, decided to try their Salmon. Luckily we enjoyed our food. Both the Beef and the Salmon were well prepared and tasty. BUT, here's the deal. I felt it was way overpriced. Maybe I'm biased, but I can name a dozen restaurants (in Atlanta) that had better Korean Beef Rib (Galbi, Galbi Jjim) at half the price. Frankly, priced at $34, their fancy Beef Rib didn't taste Korean at all lol...but I appreciated having the Asian fusion option. Also, must mention that I didn't like the greasy taste of the Fried Rice...thanks to their unique "egg-on-top" styling (you had to stir the egg into the rice upon delivery, so you can't tell by my picture). Lastly, I had this fancy, little cocktail with a long, forgetful name. Good, but priced at $15, it was in a small glass, and most of it was ice. WOW. On the upside, I did like the restaurant's cool decor (obviously not upstairs, where there were these 3 tables with super-low ceiling... overlooking nothing...like WTF?!?). Also, I loved the Vanessa Dao-esque overhead music. VERY cool. The service was also on point...once we were properly seated downstairs, in the heart of the restaurant itself. Overall, the dining experience was disappointing. Let's just say that it started out really bad in my book. If the host/hostess seated us a tad more fairly, in the restaurant itself (and not upstairs, away from the adult tables?!?), I might have felt differently about this restaurant. Also, for the price you pay, you just expect a certain level of everything...and well, I honestly didn't feel that we got our money's worth. Several people recommended we go here so we picked it for our most recent celebration. We typically get small plates so we got several along with a single entree. We got: pimento cheese scones, yeast rolls, crispy pig ears, lumache carbonara, and charred Korean beef rib. Everything was fantastic. The pig ears were my favorite. They were perfectly crispy with great seasoning. The scones were probably my second favorite. The yeast rolls kept growing on me the more I ate them. I recommend letting them cool down because they taste better when they aren't piping hot. Most people start with either the pimento cheese scones or the yeast rolls. We couldn't decide so we got both. I loved the beef rib, but it was way too big of a portion. We love variety and this was too much for us. I was tired if it by the end. My husband and I could have split it as our whole meal. I would only get it again if I had a larger group. The flavors were great and it was incredibly tender, it was just too much food. The service was good and pretty fast. We're the crazy people that eat at 5 though, so it wasn't crowded when we got there. The vibe is a little stuffy for my preference. Last night we ate here and were disappointed. I ordered the shortribs and the kale salad. Both had wonderful flavor and presentation but there were two problems, which are unforgivable at this price point. The items accompanying the beef (broccolini, etc) were intensely salty, so salty it made my tongue sting and I couldn't finish them. The other problem was with the kale salad which was gritty; apparently it had not been washed thoroughly and still contained bits of sand or dirt. Few things are less appealing to me than grinding grit between my teeth when eating. We have eaten here before, as have several friends, and all have had really good experiences. I hate to have to tell them that carelessness seems to be ruining the food. Next time we are looking for a nice meal, I'm afraid we'll have to go somewhere else. read more

2020 showed us humility and to appreciate the little things. Lately I've been extra grateful to be able to be out and about, and dining at our local favorites again. Peppervine has always been a gem, and happy to report that this place still brings me joy and as always, satiation! For date night, the boyfriend and I decided to stop by this old friend. It's been way too long! The smell of yeast rolls whiffed the air as we were guided to our tables, paired with warm greetings along the way. With hesitancy, we ordered practically all of the new additions. Yeast Roll - Baked to order and goes with pretty much everything else you'll order :) Roasted Squash - So strange to say, but the squash was our absolute favorite! In awe that such a creation exists and trust me, you won't regret ordering this one! Bucatini Fruits Del Mar: Thetextures and flavors complement so well! The herbs assimilate into the core of the dish and the pasta is perfect for absorbing every last bite of that delicious sauce. This was the boyfriend's favorite. Thai Pork Spare Ribs: incredibly tender and falls off the bone. While we enjoyed this dish, the ginger was a bit overwhelming and I would probably skip this one next time. Chicken Sausage & Flourless Potato Gnocchi: Heavy on the sausage and light on gnocchi. I would've enjoyed this dish a bit more if it were reversed. The gnocchi was crispy and such a unique texture than what I'm used to. The sausage flavor overwhelmed the dish and while the execution was unique, this was a probably our least favorite. Boar Bolognese: There's something about pappardelle that gets me every time and if it's on the menu, it is simply destined to be mine. The ricotta simmered and melted into the sauce while the pasta soaked up the fine herbs and the acidity of the lemon helped cut the heaviness of the dish. It was perfect and this dish was up there as the favorite for me with the squash. A must order! For dessert, we landed on the Caramel Panna Cotta. With a description of Bailey's Caviar, cold foam and coffee mousse, I was set based on creativity alone. The flavors and textures complement so well and surprisingly, this dish was served cold. I was surprised at first bite, but thoroughly enjoyed this dessert and found myself never putting my spoon down. I have to say, we are regretting not getting the 24 Hr Short Ribs as we heard compliments radiating from our neighbors who could not stop raving about this dish. I'll start with all the good. This meal was amazing. I loved the selection of cheeses on the cheese plate and the spiciness of the mustard was a great addition to the fresh baked bread. We followed that up with the 24 hour short rib which was perfectly cooked and tender. And then my favorite course of this experience was the Boar Bolognese which was just packed with flavor. I loved the Al dente cook on the noodles and the lemon ricotta really complimented the heaviness of a pasta dish. We then finished the night with the caramel panna cotta. The Baileys caviar was genius and added texture to the dish. Now for my concerns and the reason this isn't a 5 star rating. The first issue I had was that we ordered a glass of wine and an old fashioned and those drinks were ordered first and didn't arrive until we were near the end of our cheese plate. The waiter did apologize twice for this and I appreciated that. Second when it was taking long to get over to our table the waiter stated that the other table he was taking care of were new to the restaurant and had lots of questions. Never blame someone else, even if the circumstances are out of your control. Just apologize for the wait and continue on. Lastly the restaurant described itself of being a slow paced tapas style dining experience however the utensils to serve each dish doesn't translate into that which is fine but you need to have a clear concept with execution even down to the fine details of the serving utensils. Our waiter let us know that they change up the menu weekly by showcasing two to three dishes so we will be happy to try this place again because at the end of the day they served some amazing food. read more

The Thai Pork Ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender. This is a must order. Everything we tasted was next-level good. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on their menu... I loved how they spaced out our courses to make sure we could enjoy each dish. It's a pet peeve of mine when they bring all the dishes together. This restaurant is always one that I think of for a special occasion dinner - truly a wonderful dining experience. The Pimento Cheese Scones were good but not as cheesy as I expected. If you're looking for a high class experience in South Charlotte, then look no further than Peppervine. Upon walking in we were greeted kindly and walked to our table. We noticed right away how beautiful the interior was and we really like the ambience of the restaurant. Our waiter Christian was very nice and attentive. We started off with drinks and yeast rolls. My drink was surprisingly good I never had an alcoholic drink with cucumber before but it was so refreshing. My two other friends enjoy their drink as well and even got a second round. When the yeast rolls came out we were total wait a few minutes for them to cool down. My friend tasted them first and was like wow these are great these are amazing. I decided to taste one and it really blew my mind how soft and delicious they were. My other friend joined and loved them as well they were so good we decided to put in another order for the yeast rolls. For first round of courses we decided to do family style and share our meals we ordered the fried oysters, sweet-and-sour chicken, Roasted mushrooms and sunchokes, and lumache shrimp pasta. It was all great but the dish that stood out to me was the roasted mushrooms and sunchokes. Which is surprising because I HATE mushrooms. They sat on a bed of the most creamiest grits I ever had! For our second round, One friend got the Spanish octopus and my other friend got the Thai Ribs. I got the 24hour short ribs which were cooked to perfection. It sat on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes along with roasted vegetables. We were too full from our meal to order dessert but I would love to come back just to try it. read more

This was my second trip to Peppervine and it was just as delicious as my first trip! First of all the restaurant is beautiful. I came for an early birthday celebration dinner and I was not disappointed. I started my meal with a mocktail, which was a less spicy version of their margarita as suggested by our server. We then started off with an order of the yeast rolls- delicious, warm, and just the right amount of salt, but the butter-- omg! For my entree I decided upon the lumache pasta. The pasta was the perfect serving size and the flavor was light, but buttery. The end of my meal I was presented with the cutest little piece of key lime pie adorned with a single candle- perfect and so flavorful! I would love to see it added to the dessert menu!
