I started my journey of new air conditioning back in March. I wasn't entirely certain that my air conditioner was broken last summer but having a house where inside reached temperatures of over 90 seemed suspicious. My partner and I decided that this summer we would figure out pricing for a new ac unit. I had prior knowledge that I would most likely need to replace both my a/c and furnace. So we landed here on SHANCO's page. Bret called me after we sent a request to him and he seemed very polite on the phone. We set up an appointment and he came out. Bret did whatever HVAC people do and showed me my options. For someone who earns their living off sales he wasn't pushy and didn't try to upsell me things that I didn't need which I appreciated a lot, especially because who has thousands of dollars just laying around waiting to be spent on a new ac and furnace? He told me also that if need be we could get a tune up on the ac since it didn't seem to work last summer and since March was too cold outside to tell the difference he said he would contact me in April. April came and we talked but I blew it off again because it wasn't warm enough (by mid April) however by May 1 it was lol. I called him and told him I didn't know if it was blowing cold air or not and he told me that he could come out and do a diagnostic (I dreaded this because I know diagnostics cost extra) but he sweetened t by saying that if it comes back that we need to overhaul the system I had in place that he would just put that money towards getting the new units. I agreed. His right hand man Dustin came to my house put up with our crazy arrangement of not being able to get in the house and seemed humored by it lol. He told me that my system had holes in it and that I could do a bandaid fix or we could do the replacement. Of course I looked at the bandaid but realized that bandaids don't fix things and I knew that since the ac was original to the house 1996 that I'd be better off just replacing the whole thing. We got the appointment scheduled, Bret and Dustin were at my house replacing all the tubing wiring and whatever else goes into the attic. They were both very friendly and approachable. They were also most importantly, knowledgeable. I had a couple questions about things and they were able to answer them. They explained how the furnace hook ups worked and how to hose out the ac to remove foreign materials. By the end they had tested the ac and Heater to make sure it all worked. The financing was SUPER easy. Bret upheld all his promises to me. He gave me a quote in March and allowed me to keep it into May. I have a 10 year warranty on the parts and 1 year on the labor. I would recommend SHANCO to anyone of my friends or family members who needed a replacement or even just a normal fix. Bret treated me like I was a friend even though this is business for him. I am pleased with all aspects of my experience with Peppy Heating and Cooling. They installed a new Trane heat pump to function as both an AC and a heater, alongside my existing gas furnace. The install team (Luke, Josh, and Jordan) worked diligently and effectively to tie the new equipment with my existing system. In addition to installing the outdoor Trane heat pump on a new pad, the team replaced the evaporative coil with a new coil made by Aspen (designed to work with the Trane heat pump), cut sheet metal to match the size/shape of my existing ductwork near my furnace, installed all necessary tubes, pipes, and pump to deal with the condensate, and fished line to install a new thermostat in a great location. I spoke with the owner, Brett, and he helped me with making the decision regarding trying to repair my existing York AC unit vs. doing a new install. He gave me a lot of helpful information about what they would do to track down the tiny refrigerant leak my unit had, the different repair options, and the likelihood those repairs would be effective. Rob worked with me to design a good system for a price that seems fair to me (I did get similar pricing from a competitor). I am excited about the reliability of having a Trane heat pump vs. the York AC unit I had previously. The condenser coil had to be replaced after only 3 years and the system failed after only 9 years (way too short a lifespan for an AC unit). York is on the low end of the reliability spectrum. I am hoping I get several decades of use out of this Trane, which has very high marks for reliability. Their office was also a smash hit with me. Whether it was talking to Kim, Shannon, or Elizabeth, they were all very helpful and responsive. Kim helped me make my payment quickly, while Shannon and Elizabeth helped me schedule everything and connected me with team members, where appropriate. Finally Sarah delivered parts directly to the job site on two occasions, helping everything run smoothly. Thank you Sarah! If you are wary of a company having a lot of 5 star reviews more recently, don't worry as these guys are the real deal. From the first call to the final meeting, Brett, the owner, was the point of contact through the whole process. Alex, Brett's technician, called to give me a heads up before showing up on time and diagnosed the issue of rusted out ducting due to bad AC coils. Due to the extent of our issue and age of our units, we decided to fully replace the AC and furnace. I asked Alex to have Brett give me a good, better and best options. Brett followed up the next day with 3 option boards outlining exactly what you were getting and what you were paying for just for AC and just repair of the duct. I had many questions about mixing and matching options with a new furnace as well. He later sent me 4 option boards for AC+heater upon request. At no point in this whole process did I feel pressured to actually make a purchase. Brett answered all my questions fully via phone, email and text. I am glad I decided to do a full replace. Alex, Matt and Dustin showed up on time the day of the install which took a whole day with the duct repair as well. The quality of work was highly impressive as they cleaned up as if no one was there, they explained everything about the system to me and the fit and finish is incredibly clean. Brett came out the next day to finish connecting and testing the heater and receive the final payment. He answered any remaining questions I had without being in a hurry to leave after payment and chatted while he worked. Each time these guys showed up on time and called before to give a heads up that they were on their way. I had a great experience using this company. I had a 20 year old furnace/ac with some do it yourself zoning from a previous owner. Which had custom baffles in the crawl etc. I priced out pretty much every company in the valley. Rob showed up professional, not pushy and answered every question I had. And trust me I am anal so that is saying alot. He came in at least 1k below everyone else and they install Trane which is an excellent brand if you want something reliable to last. They were also willing to match the 5 year labor warranty of Western Heating. Along with the 1 year of maintenance the others offer. Rob gave me all the options clearly and I knew he wasn't full of hot air as I had been researching the replacement for 3 years. Kevin and Jordan did the install they were extremely fast and I got a pro install. I really felt like Kevin cared and even though they were efficient he wasnt in a hurry to run away. Very clean I couldn't be happier. After the install I had a couple items I wasn't sure about, they sent Sammy over to address any questions which turned out to be normal codes showing on the furnace. But they were super cool about those things didnt make me feel like I was wasting their time. Every employee I worked with at Peppy were top notch. We recently had Brett and his team at Shanco install a new furnace and ac in our house. We had a very pleasant experience working with Brett. Before calling Shanco, we received a ridiculous quote from a competitor. We called Brett after 5pm and he offered to swing by our house at 7:30am the next morning on his way to another job. Brett's quotes were very reasonable and he did not try to upsell (unlike the competitor). The install went very well and the team cleaned up afterward. We love the new Rheem furnace and ac. SHANCO states that they put their customers first and they truly do. On the day of the install, the wrong furnace was sent to the job site. Brett, the owner, informed me that the correct one was not available and that they would install a unit that was available even though it was a higher end model. In spite of the delay, the job was still completed the same day and I was not asked to pay a penny more for the much more expensive unit. The installation done by Chris and Mikal was expertly done.
