Decent skates and up to par with other skate places for less money. At 9-10 we were with max 15 or less people on the ice. There is enough parking compared to other places. My 6 year old and I went here on a Saturday for Public Skate. We usually go roller skating at Crystal Palace but wanted a change! It was a little difficult finding the entrance and the casino is closed and most of the property is gated off but we figured it out! The staff was great and it was simple to get our ice skate rentals. There were a few kids from the Learn to Play program skating around, a few figure skaters, and a few people like us.. just there to skate! It was a nice change from the roller rink and we plan to come back I'm not sure if they serve food but they did have a few vending machines to use (mainly candy) I brought my own lunch in and that didn't seem to be a problem which was nice I docked one star just for the condition of the establishment. I'm torn on how I feel about this place. On one hand, I really enjoy the beginner skating lessons I've been taking here because it's really help me learn and become a better skater. On the other hand, this place gets really packed with families and small children during public skate and it's just absolute chaos! Especially with all the walkers they allow people to rent out! It's just hard to have fun skating when half the people have a walker and crowd up the rink Public skate is held on most afternoons, however I've only come on Sat and Sun. If you don't want to fight the crowds of families and children, I'd recommend coming early, like as soon as the public skate session starts for that day. The weekly schedule is posted on their website. The cost is $7 per person, not including skate rental I'd recommend buying and bringing your own skates if you're going to be skating often because the rentals aren't very comfortable. They're cheap though at $3 per rental pair. They also offer tons of classes here including beginner, intermediate and hockey classes. They may have more but those are the ones I've seen here. I really recommend the beginner's classes if you're looking to learn more basic skills/techniques, or even just learning to skate for the first time. I'm not entirely sure what criteria to use to rate an ice arena, but it's simply "OK." It's dated and located at the closed down Fiesta Casino -- the entrance to the ice arena is easy to find, and the entryways to the old casino are blocked off, so don't worry about accidentally wandering the wrong way. Inside, there's an aroma that just smelled.... old and sweaty haha -- to be fair, they do hold hockey practices here. I was sort of expecting that nice clean ice, cool smell. I think a saw a 2 vending machines? Otherwise, there were no snack options/snack bar open at the time that I went. There are lockers, that take 2 quarters to utilize. My skates appeared clean and worked well for me. And the staff was nice. Public Skating on Friday and Saturday Nights is quite empty, so this is a nice spot if you just wanna get your skate in without having to worry about crowds! No reservations needed. read more

Review is for public ice only. Rink located inside casino. I've parking is best on North entrance. Finding the rink the first time was a problem, along with trying to find a place to park (midweek/midday). I parked in the parking garage located on the southeast exit of the casino. I didn't feel safe exiting my vehicle, or walking to the door. Parking was filthy and dark (even for day). Entering the casino (like all I suppose) you're slapped in the face with stale and fresh cigarette smoke, not an experience I appreciate heading to the ice. Once inside the rink isn't too difficult to find. When you get in the doors, it's difficult to figure out where/who to pay. Once you pay, you have to navigate to a bench and change footwear, I didn't see any welcoming locker rooms. Snack bar & vending No real healthy choices for athletes and kids! This is my biggest complaint at rinks, though I know in business to have what sells, have available some health (at least healthier) choices. Examples: hard boiled eggs, tea/iced tea (not to mention it's CHEAP for you). Ice Nicely kept! Keep up the good work! *Handicap note-there is a small (somewhat scary) elevator that will take you up to the stands. Nice to have, but I wish they'd make it more appealing!! Signs would be great, too! Notes to business Put visitor information on your webpage (locker room info, where to park, pricing, etc). Have a flyer or something for guests (I'm referring to visiting competitive skaters, not public skaters). Update: I received a call from the rink manager which I greatly appreciate. After a lengthy conversation I feel as though my frustrations and concerns have been addressed. It is also refreshing to see management that takes the time to reach our address these issues. I've changed my rating to 3 stars. On 2/17 My husband I come here to skate regularly. We enjoy the DJ services they have on Friday and Saturday. The music is a great mix and makes it more fun. The staff never recut the ice 1/2 way through the skate session. As a result, it was covered in snow and was difficult to skate on. When asked why they didn't do it, "the skate session is only 2 1/2 hrs long." Actually, no it is 3 hours long. The manager, Jessica, did not even know how the session ran for. She had poor attitude and spent the entire night hiding in the back or on her cell phone. Not one of the employees ever went into the ice to monitor the skaters or the ones playing tag and knocking each other over into people. read more

During Winter hours, the SoBe Ice Arena was open 2:30PM to 5:30PM on a Tuesday. As a fellow yelper stated, this ice rink is no Winter Wonderland. The SoBe Ice Arena looks outdated and boring, and is not beginner friendly. The rink is surrounded by plastic panels that make it impossible for novices to grab a hold of the ledge for stability or peace of mind (something klutzes like me need!). I asked the attendant if I could rent the kiddie training wheels walker, but she smirked and said those were only for kids. I had intended to go full on grandma with my walker, but I guess that wasn't happening. Without a ledge to hold on to (OR my granny walker), my skating prospects looked bleak. My husband wasn't feeling the underwhelming vibe of the ice rink either, and he convinced me that we should just leave. We had purchased a Groupon for $11, which was good for two adults and included ice rink admission and skates. Our visit to the SoBe Ice Arena was a wash - I'd recommend going to the ice rink on the rooftop of a casino on the strip if you're looking for a more festive atmosphere or if you're a rookie like me. I had been wanting to take the kids ice-skating for some time and put them in lessons. But they always recommend you take them out for "open" skate time first (I guess to see if they like it?) So imagine me by myself with two little kids? Finally got the hubby to go with me (since his schedule had been a little hectic) I had not been skating in like ten years, so I was NOT about to put some ice skates on. So, I was there for moral support:) I don't think I added much support since I was complaining the whole time. I think what really turned me off was a couple of things: The super loud music. You could hardly hear each other talk. On this particular Sunday it was crowded! It was a tight small area to walk thru while u change skates. And honestly I'm just about up to my nose with family entertainment that makes you walk thru a casino! Smelly smoky old school Fiesta casino to walk thru to get there (I think there was a backdoor but parking signage was not clear so I parked in covered parking. Oh, and not enough red skate bars for kids to use who are just learning to skate. So initially my kids were impatient having to take turns. The only good thing (or bad depending on how you look at it) the kids want lessons now, they enjoyed it except for the loud music-they were annoyed too. I think I'll have to go another skate rink for lessons since this location is not convenient to me either. At least it was only r$6.50 pp which included the skate rental.. I believe there was a snack bar I could smell pizza or popcorn but I stayed on the bench to watch our stuff. I have been playing adult rec ice hockey every wednesday night for long time here at SoBe. The things I love about this rink is the locker rooms are all nice size for teams too change every game. The locker rooms are fairly well clean each game and the bathrooms/showers are upkeep well. The ice is by far the best ice in Vegas especially comes for ice hockey. Although it might lack a bar oversee the games on the plus actually has real stands up above that can watch the games. If need drink bar right outside the rink and bring drinks in. Also subway right outside the rink if in need for quick bite. Love the fact the rink although part of Fiesta Hotel hardly feels the part! It had own back entrance and parking lot that go directly too the rink without stepping foot in the casino. They have adult rec leagues also on Tuesday, Thursday, and believe Sunday. So sure if looking too play adult rec hockey SoBe the play too go. It not just for adult ice hockey. They have youth classes for figure skating and junior wranglers program for kids all ages start playing hockey. They have open skating nights. Open skating something need too check on weekly basis because between the hockey leagues, youth things, and also have youth tournaments can be hit or miss. What a hidden gem! We had no idea this rink was inside the Fiesta Rancho Hotel & Casino... What a nice ice rink! Our son is in a weeklong LA Kings youth hockey camp and the ice quality, the cleanliness of the facility, and overall upkeep of the entire ice arena is very well maintained! Locals here in Las Vegas are lucky to have such a quality ice arena here in such hot desert conditions! This place is a great way to escape the Las Vegas heat and cool off. A casino with an ice skating rink? It may be the last thing you'd expect to find at the Fiesta Rancho, but there's almost always something going on at this arena. In addition to public skate sessions (usually $9.50 including skate rental, just $6.50 on Sunday), they also host hockey games and figure skating classes. I've been on a weekday afternoon, and it's normal to see a lot of kids as well as coaches in the rink, giving hockey and figure skating lessons. They also feature Cosmic DJ skating from 8-11pm on Friday and Saturday nights, which I may check out sometime. Maybe that's not a popular time for hockey instruction... those hockey coaches are intense! If you aren't an experienced skater, you will see people of all ages who skate better than you do. I've even seen a baby (still in diapers), up on skates, and having an awesome time! SoBe Ice Arena is a great family activity, and just a fun and active way to spend an afternoon. I had no idea what size I was and they helped me figure out what size worked best for me. For ice skating and rentals it came out to be $10 if I remember correctly. Super cheap! There were plenty of places to keep your belongings (they also had lockers). The place was clean and the people skating were also very friendly. My friend wasn't very good at skating and someone approached her and gave her some tips which helped her a lot. They also have this walker like things you can hold only while you skate that way you don't have to worry about falling if you're just learning. read more

My daughter had her 5th birthday party here last summer. There were a few hiccups during the planning stage and miscommunication between management and supervisors but on the day of the party they pulled it off beautifully. The party room was decorated in the colors I had chosen before we even arrived. They also let us stay a little longer than our actual rental time since there were no other birthdays after us. After the kids took a break from ice skating to eat and have cake, there was a minor issue that all the scooters we had rented for the kids had been taken by other ice skaters. The supervisors took care of it and went around the rink to collect our scooters from everyone who had helped themselves to them so our kids could have them back. The party rental and food package was a great value for a kids' birthday party. Being 8 months pregnant this was the best and most enjoyable way to get out of the heat for a summer birthday celebration. read more

I came here last Sunday with my chicky. Only $7 for ice access and skate rental. It's $10 on other days. It's no winter wonderland but the ice is in decent shape and they pump out a lot of good jams to skate to. I did more flailing than skating but no one is judging you. Neither of us are particularly good, but I think that's what makes it fun. This is a great place to burn an hour or two for a day date. They close at 5pm, at least on Sunday. This is from a hockey perspective. One sheet of ice. Entrance from parking garage(ample parking) and a short walk through the Fiesta Casino. Small pro-shop with a few of every item but nothing extensive. Skate sharpening can be done. Locker rooms (there are four) are big enough, but not the biggest. Bathrooms with showers adjoin the locker rooms, shared with the locker room next door. Raised and elevated view stand. Something different is the scoreboard hanging over the center ice instead of on the wall behind the goalies or the players' benches. Chow, snacks, booze are right outside the door in the casino, though there are ending machines within. Not to bad as far as cold for spectators. The ice looks well maintained. Why not the 5th star? Two things, the small pro-shoppe and coordination. I'm here for my son's tournament and we had to wait for a team to clear out to get into our locker room. I searched for ice skating rinks in Las Vegas and found this. All we knew was the price and the hours. What I loved about this rink was that it wasn't crowded the evening we went. In fact, I think we stayed till almost closing. The kids had fun and they even offer a walker for the little ones. The music they played was fantastic and I just loved how spacious and clean it was. I've been here twice this year. I'm not a great ice skater, but am good enough that I can seem good to my seven-year-old niece, who was our reason for going both times. This place is fairly inexpensive (especially for Vegas), but their rental skates are duller than a butter knife. I'm sure it makes mass wipeouts safer, but it makes skating a little rougher, especially for kids who are just learning. They also don't use the Zamboni on the ice very frequently, which is good because it means more ice time, but bad if it's really busy like the last time we went, the day after Thanksgiving. Overall: Lots of kids here and not a ton of show-offs. A decent range of music usually. Friendly help. They just need to sharpen the skates a bit more frequently and they'd be way better than just A-OK! read more

This review is for the private party crew when I booked my daughters 11th bday party there. The girl that I spoke with on the phone was very nice and informative. They supplied the plates/cups, utensils and balloons. I also ordered the pizza thru them too which was pretty good and a good size too. The package also included skate rentals along with 2 hrs in the party room which was great to have when there was no where to sit in the arena once all of the teenagers came piling in. It was also on a Saturday which is cosmic skating with a live DJ. My daughter and her friends had so much fun even me and some of the adults had a blast skating. There's also an arcade in the arena as well as right outside in the fiesta casino for those who don't skate. The guy who was the attendant for our party was super nice and patient even let us stay past our time since there were no other parties and we had a lot of babies with us that would've gotten lost in the crowd out there. As we left he even complimented us on how our party was a nice group and didn't leave too much to clean since they have to clean it before they can leave for the night. He said the night before a party had tons on confetti and cake smashed all over the place that it took hours to clean and didn't get out till 2am. So if you're having a party there be courteous I know it's their job but they're sweet kids (18-20 something yr olds) working there trying their best to serve everyone. Also a couple tips, show up as early as possible because once the cosmic skating starts the line to get in is out the door and so was the line to pick up skates. And park in the garage that faces Rancho blvd take the elevators and the arena is right around the corner. Bring cash for the arcade because those ATM fees are crazy. Oh and they had skated that for my 2yr old toddler which was cool. But if you are bringing younger kids to skate I recommend going when it's not cosmic skating so that way it's not too crowded with teenagers and they only allow those skating assister things (the walker looking thing for beginners) during non-cosmic skating times. Call ahead too to Check the public skate times for that week since they host a lot of hockey tournaments and skate classes. read more

Came on a Saturday afternoon with my daughter who has cerebral palsy. We asked for a skate assist device for her and were told they were all checked out. When we got in the ice we saw why. There were groups of teenaged girls using them to give each other rides and bump them against each other. the fact that they allowed this happen the entire hour we were there was disappointing to say the least. We saw other families with young children struggling while the workers allowed this was indicative of poor safety management. Probably won't come again as the staff seemed more interested with each other than customers. read more

We really like this arena. It's a fun well-maintained facility. However In our last experience it is clear that they need to better train their employees, or change employment practices. Today the issue is one employee named Justin has a foul attitude. He bullied my three year old daughter by taking a walker sled from her (that I legitimately rented) stranding her on the ice. He then defended his actions when challenged and does not seem to understand his error. On a side note, after Justin was confronted by management and us he seems more interested in skating with his girlfriend than whatever job function he has. Management responded quickly when we complained but it doesn't change the fact a poor employee ruined my kid's day. Negative stars for Justin, bringing the facility review down to 2 stars. read more
