We were disappointed. We have gone to Perea's years ago and loved it. The green chili was not as hot but it was tasty. Our problem was with the temperature of the food. It was lukewarm. It had obviously been cooked ahead of time (we ordered bacon, egg & potato burritos with green). I t was very busy and service was good. Our dining companions had huevos that they said was fine. Our burritos looked like they used to but were mostly flour tortillas.

Go where the locals go. I had asked last night where I needed to go for breakfast and this is one of the two spots I was told not to miss in ABQ. Sunday morning was busy but a table for one opened up after about 15 minutes. Warmly greeted by my waitress who brought a menu and coffee. I chose the Huevos Rancheros and selected both red *and* green chile. It didn't take long before it arrived. While it doesn't photograph well, it was absolutely delicious. A big portion with two fried eggs hash browns, tortilla and shredded cheese. A meal worthy of a ranch hand indeed. [Review 21079 overall - 126 in New Mexico - 42 of 2024.]

This place is incredible! We went to a lot of New Mexican restaurants around Albuquerque in the same weekend, and this was the standout restaurant! My grandma said she just wanted to eat the chile with a spoon, it was so good! Extremely kind staff as well. Highly, highly recommend!

This is so good!!! We enjoy coming here on our way home or California. I have family here in New Mexico and grew up eating homemade New Mexican food and this is almost as good. My grandma's was better. Love the tortillas!

The mission to find breakfast places continues, and Perea's got their turn. This unassuming place feels almost hidden from the traffic on Juan Tabo, yet the visible sign has caught our attention many times. The decor is simple and unequivocally New Mexican. A mix of young and seasoned patrons, couples, friends, and families filled the space. Our server was quite kind and helpful when choosing our plates. We got the huevos rancheros and adobada with an egg plates. The adobada tasted like home! The green chile was nice and spicy, and the red chile was powerful and spicier. Both plates needed a bit of salt for the flavors to pop and harmonize, and overall it was a nice experience that we would likely want to have again. Until next time!

We ate at Pereas last week. The location has ample parking with a handicap spot out front. The dining room was clean and well lit. The waitstaff were patient, knowledgeable about the menu, and quick. The food was outa sight with a northern New Mexico style not commonly found this far south of Santa Fe. I enjoyed a beef stuffed sopilla with red chile. The sopapilla was perfectly tender and crispy at the same time. The red sauce was rich in body and flavor with a chimayo vibe. Just spicy enough without being overly hot. The huevos rancheros that Sarah had was equally exceptional with everything on the plate made to perfection.Quick personable service and great food. Definitely going back for some more of this authentically delicious food.

If you want HOT authentic New Mexican food Perea's is the place to go. Always fresh and delicious. I usually go for the 1/2 order of the huevos but have had many other items. It's a small establishment but they're pretty fast. To-go ordering is available.

This is such an underrated gem- I've been coming here since I was a kid and my mom has been coming here since she was a kid. This is true authentic new mexican food, prices are good and so is their service. If you're not from here make sure to check it out to try some of the best chili in new mexico. If you're a resident and haven't been, this will be your new go-to restaurant. Indoor seating with new mexican decor makes it even better. This is my favorite New Mexican restaurant definitely give it a try!!!

I love this mom and pop restaurant for a morning of delicious food and wonderful conversation. I have never had bad service here at Perea's. This morning was no different. Today we ordered food to go. They open at 8am so I called around 7:50 to see if they were taking food orders yet and they did!! I got there around 8:05 and our food was already ready to go. We both got Huevos with refried beans, corn tortilla, over medium eggs, and red chili. I was glad that they offer a half order. Every time I come here I am satisfied with my food. Cheers!

Great food! Hot chile! Great service! My only complaint is that it's really loud. Still my favorite breakfast in Albuquerque.

Perea's is so good. The huevos are arguably the best in town. But they have so many rules!

LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE…read more I walked into Papa Felipe's thinking I was about to eat dinner. Nah. I accidentally unlocked the secret ending. The first bite hit me so hard I had to do a factory reset on my taste buds. REEEEEEEEEEEE. I literally looked around the restaurant like an NPC waiting for someone else to acknowledge what just happened. There is NO WAY these flavors spawned naturally. The enchiladas? Illegal. The chile? Peak human civilization. The sopapillas? I almost stood up and started clapping like I had just witnessed the greatest anime finale of all time. Every bite was a critical hit. My health bar wasn't just restored--it got overhealed. I told myself, "I'll take half of this home." Narrator: *He did not.* Five minutes later my plate looked like archaeologists had excavated it. Not a crumb. Not a molecule. If there was a side quest to lick the plate clean without getting judged, I would've 100% completed it. Whoever cooked my food wasn't a chef. Bro is a level 99 food wizard with maxed-out Cooking and Forbidden Flavor Technique. Gordon Ramsay would probably take one bite, say "fair enough," and leave. At one point I took such a good bite I forgot what year it was. Bills? Gone. Responsibilities? Deleted. Student loans? I don't even have any but somehow those disappeared too. I entered a state of enlightenment only achievable through absurdly good New Mexican food. My friend asked, "How is it?" I just looked at him and went... "LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE." No further explanation was needed. If this restaurant has 10 million fans, I'm one of them. If it has 10 fans, I'm one of them. If it has 1 fan, it's me. If it has 0 fans... ...REEEEEEEEEEEEEE... ...it's because I ascended after eating here. Absolute cinema. Peak cuisine. Michelin should start giving out 6th stars just for this place. I'd fight three geese, a Costco-sized raccoon, and a level 100 IRS agent for another plate.Would absolutely consume again.
