My mother and sisters have been a few times, but first time for me. One sister recommended the blue corn enchiladas, so I went with that. I thought i would share with my mother, so I also asked for a cup of green chile (beef and beans). My mother ordered a chile relleno a la carte, so she didn't want to share with me. My sister ordered a few tacos. The blue corn enchiladas were not great. The tortillas were very tough and chewy. I would say they were old and had dried out. I struggled to cut them to eat. The red chile was better than the green. The green didn't have any flavor nor heat. Beans were delicious. I may have just ordered the wrong thing. The green chile cup was tasty but not because of the chile but rather because of the flavor of the beef. It was delicious but way overpriced for the serving size. Service started off great, but then our server disappeared. It took a while to pay, because they were prepping several to go orders. I would go back for the salsa and chips. We really like Duran's Pharmacy, so we were excited to finally try Duran's Station for the first time today. Unfortunately, we left feeling like we prefer the Pharmacy much more. While the menu is mostly the same, the flavor just didn't seem quite as good at the Station. We also tried the sopapilla burger with red chile. It was just OK. The patty was very small--about the size of a post-it note--and honestly, it was hard to taste the meat at all. The burger was completely smothered in red chile, which had just enough heat for a baby, but not much depth of flavor. We also ordered the enchilada plate with a side of beans. Both the enchiladas and beans looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while. The red chile on the enchiladas wasn't very hot today, which left the dish feeling a bit flat and more like tourist-style food than the rich, home-cooked flavor we were hoping for. The kids ordered the taco plates, which each came with a beef taco topped with cheese, lettuce, and tomato, along with a side of white beans topped with cheese. Unfortunately, it seemed like these plates had also spent some time under a heat lamp. The beans were quite dry, and the cheese on top had become hard and crunchy around the edges. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it didn't live up to what we've come to expect from Duran's. We'll likely stick with the Pharmacy location going forward. read more

Ordered the Huevos Rancheros. There was no corn tortilla under the eggs as is customary at other restaurants. The potatoes looked and tasted like reheated potatoes from previous days. The whole beans were dried out and very dark brown; very obviously old and reheated. The green chile was bland and totally tasteless. Let's start with the fact that when my mother-in-law and wife agree that the food is fantastic this is a good find. They're red chili sauce is outstanding and the dishes that my wife and mother-in-law had were super enjoyable in both raved about the flavor of the their dishes. I like simple when it comes to nachos... and the nachos at Duran's Station were perfect! The nachos come with melted shredded cheese, pinto beans, and jalapeños. Durans Station is set up in an old firehouse building. Inside the walls are brick and it is a nice open space. It is the 2nd location for Duran's downtown. The food is delicious! I love the fresh tortillas with butter please! The guacamole, cheese enchiladas on blue corn, the crunchy tacos, both chicken and beef, the torpedo for all you potato lovers and if you ask me red or green, I for one prefer the red chili over the green. I very much enjoy Duran's Station, even despite the marked price increases. Their red (from powder, alas) and green are both good and I look forward to eating here probably once a month. Same chile and same salamander blasting your plate before you're served as at the Duran's Pharmacy downtown. Free chips and salsa (not my favorite, but always tasty) and your drink is always kept full. In fact tht service (generally delightful - we're sad there's been such turnover lately, but they still hustle) and cooking are always on-point and the owner, while more lugubrious in demeanor than any other restauranteur I can think of in the city, is almost always there keeping on top of things. The room can be a little crowded, but is more cozy than oppressive - the Ghattas family has done a fine job with the old Number 8 fire station. Be careful coming out of the one-way parking lot onto Menaul, though: the sign blocks your view and people _fly_ down that street. If you love Duran's Pharmacy, you might just love Duran's Station even more. It is basically the same menu but add more lunch/dinner options and of course, fries. Duran's Station is located right off of Menual near Carlisle and parking is reasonable. I went on a Tuesday night around 5:30 pm and it was the busiest I have seen it in a long time. Most of the tables were full and service was on the slower side but still not bad by any means. The food is solid and always worth a little wait. I love that the menu here is more extensive and my go-to is the green chile cheeseburger with fries but the options are all really good. They of course have some fantastic tortillas and the green chile stew is a must in colder weather. My dad always wants to grab a slice of their pie but desserts are often out (they're house made and limited supplies) but worth trying if available. read more

First, I must say, I'm from Texas. We have a certain type of Mexican food that varies by area. And I love chile rellenos. But theirs, oh my stars, is AMAZING!! I've never had anything like it....the pepper is longer and it is very crispy. The red chile and food is always fantastic! However two weeks ago I ordered a torpedo for take out. There was hardly any potatoes or cheese inside. It was like eating a folded tortilla with chile. I've never had that experience before. Not sure if this is how it will be because of food costs, but I hope not. The cost of a torpedo is not cheap! It's always fun to try a new place! Getting there on a Thursday at 11:30 am, I found almost all tables filled! I was glad our friend was there holding the table for us. There is a sign that mentions everyone in the party must be there before being seated. But we got there a minute after our friend. I often get breakfast burritos to compare. I'm an egg lover, and i sort of see what the ratio is of egg to potato and bacon. Here, they serve two kinds of potato --your choice of either fried or steamed. I asked about the steamed, and they said it was like mashed potato. I should have tried it but stayed with the fried. I also asked that they go light on the potato, which they kindly did. The plate came out with wonderful green chili smothered over the burrito with cheese melted on top and some shredded lettuce on the side. The green chile was mild but still made my nose run. So, it had some heat. It was good. I heard red chile is what they are known for, but I'm a green fan. And speaking of spicy hot, the salsa and homemade tortilla chips brought to the table were good. Go light on the salsa as it had a good kick to it was it among the best breakfast burritos I've had? It did have two eggs, but I felt the bacon was a little skimpy. The dish did have good flavor and was a solid lunch meal! Though music was playing, I did not have to yell over it to talk to my friends. The place was bright and clean.
