I normally don't leave multiple reviews, but after my own experience here, I feel it's important to share what happened to my father as well. My father purchased a pair of glasses from Perez Eye Care and ended up spending around $600. For a purchase that expensive, you would expect excellent customer service and support if any problems came up. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Similar to my experience, the staff seemed much more focused on making the sale than making sure the customer was satisfied afterward. When my father received his glasses, he had issues with the prescription and was unable to comfortably wear them. Instead of working with him to find a solution, the staff was rude, dismissive, and did not seem interested in helping resolve the problem. The most frustrating part is that he now has a pair of glasses that cost hundreds of dollars and are essentially unusable because the prescription does not work for him. Spending that much money only to end up with glasses you can't wear is incredibly disappointing. Nobody expects perfection, but customers do expect to be treated with respect and to receive support when there is an issue with a product they paid a significant amount of money for. Based on both my experience and my father's, the optical staff at this location consistently fall short when it comes to customer service, professionalism, and treating customers with basic respect. The eye doctors may be great, but the experience of actually purchasing glasses and receiving post-sale support has been extremely disappointing for both of us. I would strongly encourage others to carefully consider their options before making a major purchase here. read more

The doctor was extremely nice and answered all my questions. She even called back with information after doing research. I'd really wished I'd known about Perez Eyecare years ago. As a health care office open during the pandemic, temp checks and social distancing as well as disinfection protocols are adhered to. Dr. Perez' prescriptions (glasses and contacts) were right on. As for the optometrist she's amazing as well as the staff EXCEPT a woman that seems like she's never left the hood and it's obvious she does NOT have any customer service skills. I have been going to the downtown offices for about 10 year, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. My visit is always pleasant from the time I walk in, until I walk out. Everyone is very professional, and takes their job serious. You will get a thorough exam, no rushing. If you are looking for a great place to take care of your eyes, look no more. I've been going to the Perez sisters for at least four or five years now. They're both SO nice and they're adorable as well. I can't remember what the price is for an exam, but I know it isn't anything too crazy, and they're much cheaper than Lenscrafters. They also have another location in the loop, but I like the Cermak location more. It's more spacious, and there's plenty of street parking. read more

SO I have been using Perez Eye Care a few years now. I am very pleased since they fixed a pair of glasses that had a poorly done prescription from another place. I went in to see the Doctors (there's 2 and they split time between their 2 locations), and they took care of all of the paper work with the lenses and the no refund policy from the other optometrist- they were paid out of pocket too, not thru the insurance company. The one thing I don't like is that there is a small selection of frames here, but if you need a great optometrist that will take their time when they see you, this is definitely the place to go. If you don't like a frame you like, you can always bring your own in. read more

I went in a year ago (pre-covid) and they treated me terribly. I was met with the UTMOST DISRESPECT. I went in thinking I was going to get good service but I was HIGHLY mistaken. I went in to get a new prescription - the appointment wait and service itself was subpar. The exam room was dirty and smelled of raw sewage - I looked past it because I figured it was a building issue. The "doctor" was very rude. The "doctor" examined me and at the end of the exam I was happy to finally be able to see with my new prescription ! After, I was met by a optician and I proceeded to choose my frame and what I wanted on my lenses . It was a bit unprofessional that the optician wanted to push the sunglasses option on me and when I politely said no thank you she huffed and puffed. Fast forward to 3 weeks ... I am met by a phone call of good news ! My glasses are here ! I go in and was given my new glasses and pay my remaining balance. I put on the glasses with the help of the optician and I say that I can see but I am not that satisfied the optician proceeds to tell me to give them a chance and if anything happens to call for a re-examination. I wear the glasses for a couple of days but am not satisfied so I make a appointment to have them check them out again. I enter the clinic and the same raw sewage smell welcomes me - oh well right? I am met by a different "doctor" and I tell her what my concerns are and she examines me and at the end of it she says " your prescription is correct we can send them to the lab but you will need to pay" she then sent me to the optician and the optician gave me a new amount that I would have to pay ... why would I have to pay for the "doctors" mistake ! I understand of the long waits on scheduling due to the pandemic and for that reason I made a appointment a month and half in advance and this week I confirmed it on Monday 9/28 and again the receptionist called me on 9/29 to confirm for a 9/30 appointment and once I got there I was told it's not till 10/30. Dr. Patrícia Pérez was very courteous and clearly explained the process of my examination...the staff was very friendly and very helpful in helping me select my glasses and the contact lenses best suited for me. First appointment turned away since my insurance wasn't "active" until December. They could've told me over the phone. Nope. Second cancelled without notice. If I hadn't called I probably would've showed up to discover that someone accidentally cancelled my appointment without notice...Rude rude rude...if I could give 0 stars I would. Highly disappointed, I remember many many years ago when this was Dr. Torres office. He was amazing. I guess I had a soft spot for this place but truth is that some of the office staff is highly unprofessional and condescending. I have been going to Perez Eye Care for 12 years. I feel like I am a part of the family when arrive at the clinic (Loop office). The service is always prompt, professional, and friendly. I also adore Sandy, the other sister/Office manager. My husband visits the Pilsen location, I have visited it only once. I will say that the service at the Loop location is better than Pilsen, and its simply because of the assistants there. I generally will only visit the Pilsen location if I know Sandy will be there or the other lady that alternates between the two locations, she is also AWESOME! This was my family's first time going here and we were really impressed from beginning to end. The Eye doctors really helped us to know the status of our eyes in a way we could really understand. She and her staff have always been helpful and courteous. The team is accommodating while I try to book multiple appointments for me, my husband and child with active schedules.
