My pedicure was extremely rushed! I normally go to J's but decided to try somewhere new. I came here a while back and my pedi was amazing. Now, not so much. For $30, I got a pedicure that lasted maybe 10 minutes. The guy who was doing it kept rolling his chair back and looking toward the front door. He didn't use a base coat so I'm already anticipating that it will chip within a day or two. There was only one other person already getting a pedicure when I sat down and I was done and gone before she was. Ridiculous. Won't be going back. Was in Kingston for a wedding. Called and made an appointment for a pedicure. The man on the phone was very nice. Went to my 12:30 appointment, they were about 20 minutes behind even though I had an appointment. I understood though as it was a Saturday. Unfortunately, the pedicure was lousy. Took her exactly 20 minutes. Sorry, but I expect a little more for a $25.00 + tip pedicure. She barely cut the cuticles and my big toenails were not even cut to the same size. Whatever you do... DO NOT GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE HERE! I went here to get my eyebrows done by the only woman left working there (the one who sits in the corner) and she literally ruined my eyebrows. I have really nice thick eyebrows and she decided to make them as skinny as possible. Not only they were skinny but they were so uneven to the point that she made a weird skinny arch to my left eye. I was so pissed off especially since she started laughing. The manager did not charge my for my eyebrows.. But either way I will never get my nails or eyebrows done there ever again! And if she has ever messed up your eyebrows before go to ultra beauty and see Gabrielle.. She will fix them for you and will suggest what make up to buy to fill up the gaps until your eyebrows grow back. read more

After reading the reviews here I was a little skeptical about going here. In my opinion Kingston is full of bad nail salons. Perfect 10 is by far the cleanest, which is important to me. There is a language barrier which I think some people perceive as unfriendly. I decided to get an ANC manicure because I have a problem with gel adhering to my nails. The woman who did my nails did a nice job. I have attached photos so you can see for yourself. If someone is being rough and cutting your cuticles to the point of bleeding, you need to ask them to stop, and ask for a different manicurist instead of allowing them to finish your manicure. This nail salon was very clean and looks nice. The worker was friendly, but didnt talk much. The reason I gave only two stars is I had an acrylic fill done, and it was done very thin. After only two weeks I had to have all the nails removed and replaced by another salon. They were lifting, and breaking because it was so paper thin. I've been trying to book Eugene for a while I finally come to see her and when I get there she tells me someone else is going to do it and that he's great too. He did my nails they were fine. I come back for a fill in asking for Eugene she was busy she refers me to Michael. I trust her now because the last guy did a great job. The minute I sat in the chair Michael had attitude. I felt like he was talking about me with the nail tech next to him. I had my son with me who is four but was quite watching the phone but sharing a seat with me. That alone seemed to annoy him that I brought my son but I had no choice. The chair next to me opens up no ones sitting in it for a while. I asked if my son could sit there for now he said no someone's coming later. Again everything being said with attitude and not even looking up. I try to let it slide because I really needed my nails done. I then mention I like my nail shape a certain way. My natural nail grows downward I asked if he could make sure he files them straight. He stared at my hand and after some silence said I'll try. Again very short and with attitude. I finally asked if something is wrong he said nothing. I was like I sense attitude from you and I'm not sure why. Again says nothing. So I got up and said okay you can't do my nails because I felt he was going to mess up out of just being in a sour mood. He never defended that he wasn't in a bad mood instead he continued to make faces. Everyone else was busy so I left with my nails half way done. I got my acrylic nails done on a Saturday. By Tuesday 3 of them were broken! I had to go to another salon to get them fixed and they claimed that, "the acrylics don't adhere to the real nail after a while." The prices are absolutely ridiculous definitely the worst I've ever seen and the workers are beyond rude. If you want someone to do your nails to the best of their ability steer clear of this salon because the workers clearly do not care how their work turns out. Let me also mention that they were careless and cut my finger 3 times which made me gush blood. When I told them about the blood they were hesitant in helping me and pretty much ignored the fact I was bleeding. I had ANC manicures at Perfect 10 twice this past month. The first time, the results were great and long lasting, but I believe their tool weren't sharp. It felt like my cuticles were being tweezed and pulled off, rather than cut. I went back because the resulting manicure looked great and lasted a long time. At my second visit, I was pleased to sit down with the same nail tech, but after my old color was removed, I was instructed to slide over to another station with a different tech. Again, my cuticles were torn off, this time leading to bleeding. It the course of trying to control my bleeding cuticles, bloody paper towels were tossed around the table and blood ended up in my nail color! I have little confidence in their infection control protocol. This time, my resulting manicure was pretty bad. The color was applied too thinly and was sheer in some areas. The top coat started peeling off within two days. I won't be going back. read more

I have just left the salon after having the most disappointing manicure. It was a $25 polish change. No cuticle trimming. I did get a loving jamming of a scraping tool on the back of my nails, which was a bit unpleasant. The manager did trim my cuticles after the manicure because I complained. I just had a terrible experience here. My 3rd time at this location getting ANC & the tech got it all over my fingers during application. When I asked him politely to clean it up he got angry and proceeded to clip my skin off with the color with cuticle nippers. It's still a mess & now the skin is compromised too. Very thin ANC. I split 4 of my nails in the 2 weeks. I broke one completely and went to get it fixed. They charge $3 for a fix. J's nails does not charge you which is awesome. The manicures never last more than a week and usually chip within the first few days. The ones I've gotten at different places lasted more than 3 weeks. Had a horrible experience here. My manicure was not a manicure. The technician didn't soak, cut, or clean my nail and cuticle area. She slapped the polish on messily and forcefully. At the end of the manicure I was left with a messy job, hangnails, and polish all over my fingers. When my friend and I went to pay, we tried to use a coupon. What followed was a ridiculous scene with the entire staff yelling at me and each other, fighting over a 5 dollar off coupon. None of it made sense, and they were shouting at me for no reason. There is no one there most of the time who speaks English so you can't communicate your needs or desires. My most recent manicure is too thick and bumpy because the technician didn't understand me. They are usually short staffed so my last ANC manicure is covered with scratches from too short a time allowed to dry because of a hurry to move on to next customer. read more

I thought this was going to be the perfect place for me. The pedicure I had was fantastic so I came back for gel manicure.The owner told me should try a new type of manicure that would last much longer. I was hesitant and explained that I was only getting this manicure for a vacation to Europe and don't normally bother with manicures, although I routinely get pedicures. I thought it looked almost like acrylic nails and said I didn't want to ruin my nails. The owner explained that this new A.N.A manicure will make my nails stronger and grow faster and that it's so much better for my nails than the gel.. I was still hesitant as it's also much pricier than the gel but he said this was because the price to remove the polish is included in the manicure.. He said to just stop in when I wanted to remove the polish and they soak it off. I repeated this back to him, saying : So, I just stop by and there's no charge?" Yes, yes he said. The manicure did look nice, although it took a very long time and I questioned him a few times as he was beginning to sand my nails. He said there are many different types of these "tools" and this was very, very, very gentle and would not do any damage to my nails. The manicure lasted almost 4 weeks, no chips or cracks as it's quite thick. When I returned from Europe, I stop in and say I'm ready to remove the polish. The owner sits me down and says $12 with a new color. I remind him, I don't want another color, you told me to just stop by when I wanted the polish removed. He tells me, well, there is a $10 charge and the polish is removed free of charge ONLY if you have another manicure. Seriously? I specifically told you that I would not be having another manicure when I returned to have the polish removed. He says nothing. I'm not happy but have him continue since i need the polish removed, He takes about 80% off and says we need to cut your nails or they will break. Excuse me ? My nails aren't long and you told me that this would make my nails stronger? He cuts my nails, tells me to wash my hands and then says I'm done. My nails are paper thing, dull and there is still at least 20% of this stuff stuck on my nails with rough patches everywhere. 4 of my nails have split or cracked on the nail bed since I've left and I have 3 coats of nail strengthener on. I actually have to wear band -aides on my fingers tips so my nails don't break off. Don't let them convince you to get this manicure unless you plan to always have your nails covered up after. My nails have never been in worse shape. Truly disappointing. read more

Literally the worst manicure and pedicure I have ever had. I decided to try somewhere new because my regular place is so busy but what a big mistake. They had a different person do my pedicure and manicure and it seemed very rushed, even though they were not busy. When I was leaving a tip on my card the person who rang me out made me feel like I needed to leave more money and then asked me if one of them should get more. I decided to try this new salon for a simple lip wax,the shop is clean and vey nice but the tech should stick to nails.She was very nice but when she wanted to remove a small area of hair near my lip before I knew it she waxed my chin.I screamed you took off my skin.She charged me for a chin wax also but my chin was on fire I had to go home and apply ice.Today my chin is scabbed over and looks awful.I will never go back to this shop for any services. read more

I decided to try a new nail place because my usual is always so busy. I also was given a coupon so figured, why not. The salon was very clean, I'll give them that. However, there was only a couple of other clients at the time and I still had to wait 10 minutes to be seated in a chair then another 5 to have someone approach me. I have very short and tiny nails that I have to keep short anyway for work. The lady that sat to do my nails said my nails were too short & seemed upset that she had to do them and that I didn't want the tips put on. She proceeded to do my nails and did not talk and did not even look up at me. I decided after the first nail that I did not like the color and asked to change it to another and was told no. 40 minutes later my ANC manicure without tips is done and I wash my hands. The glue/powder was so caked on my skin that I could not wash it off. She used a metal scissor (the thick sharp ones) to cut the skin off so much that I bled. At this point I just wanted to leave. So I paid and left with bleeding fingers and the anc gel still in my fingers. I will not be going back. read more

I came in to get my ANC off and apply gel. "The owner said okay". My nail technician asked me what color I told her and she said this is ANC. I was like okay well can I see jel colors this is what he gave me to choose from: She was like it's extra 5$. I asked when I walked in.... Is there an extra charge no... so I said to him why did you tell me no extra charge if I'm getting a service and he ignores me. So now I don't want to give them service at all. Don't ignore me... ew.
