I received my quote immediately and was able to set up a 1 hour arrival window. Communication was very good, the guys showed up exactly on time, and were very professional and polite (he even took his shoes off as he entered the apt. Without us even asking). In the past I have hired ikea directly for this and it was a nightmare!!! I'd been procrastinating putting together the nice Ikea wardrobe that I'd already had delivered to be my front coat closet, so it sat in its box in my foyer for a couple of months. THEN I got a big, heavy desk for my office that I knew would be way way too heavy for me to assemble and turn upright by myself. I contacted the other furniture assembly company that has great reviews, but they couldn't come until the end of next week, and I really really needed to get that desk put together. I called Perfect Assembly and they were able to come within a couple of days. Yayy! The gentleman showed up right on time at 10AM on Wednesday morning and got both big pieces put together and properly placed in fewer than 2 hours. He had all of the tools that he needed and cleaned up all of the packaging too. I couldn't be more pleased. Great service at a great price. These guys were. . . perfect. Communication via e-mail was almost immediate. They arrived on time and when the chair I ordered wouldn't fit up my narrow stairs to my third floor apartment in its box, they took the box apart so they could bring the chair up to me. They then without me asking took the plastic away so I wouldn't have to worry about discarding it. They were prompt and friendly and when I asked them if they wouldn't mind taking my old chair out they agreed to do so without blinking an eye or negotiating (which means I tipped well!). I used Perfect Assembly to deliver and assemble my IKEA furniture and I am very pleased with my decision. I found them via Yelp and reached out to them as well as several of their competitors to compare prices. I sent them a copy of my IKEA shopping list and they got back to me within 30 minutes of my first e-mail. Their rates were the lowest I could get, and they have insurance, which was important to me. I constantly switched my list between when I first e-mailed to before they actually got my stuff (you were allowed to make changes until 6pm the day before they were coming) and they were really good about getting back to me with how much individual pieces would be to assemble. They don't have any extra parking fees or walk-up fees like many of their competitors. The only thing they didn't emphasize to me is the 3% credit card fee, but luckily I had seen that in other reviews, so I knew to watch out for it and paid with a check. The team arrived about half an hour before the window they gave (they set an hour for you -- no waiting around!). I wasn't home, but they said for me to take my time and no rush. One man put all of my furniture together and he did it really quickly! I thought it would take two people and they said it would take approximately three hours -- this guy did it in two! He was great. The only two negatives were that their site seems to promote that you can get close to next-day delivery, but when I reached out, their closest appointment was about a week / two weeks from when I e-mailed. June is a busy time, of course, but so I would recommend reaching out early to grab a time slot if you're moving at a popular time like this. The other thing is much smaller, but in their e-mails, they are very impersonal and don't have a "hello" at the beginning or sign a name at the bottom. I never realized how important of a touch that is to me until it wasn't there! It's nice to know you're talking to a person and not a machine. So simple and fantastic. I had booked my time to work with this team a few weeks in advance and during that time I had changed my shopping list at least 4-5 times, and one of those was the same day of my appointment. They were willing and able to accommodate to my changes with no issue whatsoever. The entire process is very clear and simple! I would highly recommend them and book right away! These guys were amazing! They showed up 10 minutes early and didn't put any pressure on me. They offered to wait outside for 10 minutes, but I was ready. Three guys came to drop off all the boxes, and one guy stayed behind to assemble my furniture. I kid you not, he assembled two Hemnes 3-drawer chests in one hour without even opening the instructions. These guys know what they're doing, and they're good at it! He also took out all the empty boxes and trash, and he even took out my trash that I was going to take later. I highly recommend them! read more

These guys are amazing! Like other reviewers I was hesitant at first but I called them thurs evening and they purchased, delivered and assembled my furniture friday evening! They were on time, professional, and even took my old furniture down my third floor walk up. The quality of building is superior and FAR better than anything I've ever done on my own. As I was researching, I learned that IKEA uses a third-party to do the exact same thing for them through their delivery/assembly services, but charge significantly more (presumably so IKEA can make money off the deal). Makes no sense - hire your own third party. Perfect Assembly shopped, delivered and assembled for less than IKEA quoted for just delivery & assembly. They arrived exactly within the 1 hour window they gave me and finished assembling 5 pieces in 2 hours. Definitely worth it. read more

We ordered 20 under the desk 3 drawer file cabinets for our office. Naturally we were not going to tackle this project alone - and found Perfect Assembly on Yelp. They were able to schedule 2 gentlemen to come out quickly and on time to the put them together. It was an all day (8 hr) project and the guys were awesome. They brought all the tools they needed and were low/no maintenance once they got started. We had to pry them away from the work so that they could actually take lunch. I would highly recommend them - not to mention the results were perfect. All cabinets are stable and drawers are properly aligned. It was a pleasure. read more

Ordering from Ikea is a huge headache, especially in Manhattan when you don't have a car. Working with Perfect Assembly was a breeze! I gave them my shopping list, they went to Ikea and picked up the items, delivered them to my apartment and assembled them very quickly and beautifully. You don't have to pay in advance (this includes for the Ikea items. You pay once the items have been correctly assembled). Also they accept cards. I paid only $200 for them to shop for my items, deliver and assemble them - a steal. Ikea wanted to charge me $250 just placing the online order and delivery (no assembly included). Also, service is prompt. I emailed Perfect Assembly a quote for my items, they replied in an hour and wanted to schedule delivery and assembly for the next day. read more

Tim did a really thorough job of ensuring the units were assembled perfectly. The dresser took way longer than I expected, but I can only assume that it would've taken me ten times as long to complete on my own. Before reaching out to Perfect Assembly, I had hired a task rabbit to assemble my IKEA dresser. The task rabbit actually took about 4 hours, damaged the dresser, and never finished assembling it because I had to leave for an appointment and told him to just go home. Perfect Assembly was the exact opposite - they were EXTREMELY fast, and clearly had assembled my item countless times before. It worked out perfectly, and I would HIGHLY recommend hiring them. Perfect Assembly followed up after my initial booking experience problem, and were very helpful in scheduling a time of my choosing, at an adjusted price, which was I appreciated. PA's willingness to fix their initial wrong, and commitment to doing so improved my experience working with them. They had a couple issues with the COI, and my building's email getting caught in their filters, but by the day of move-in, it was all sorted out. The movers were on time (actually a little early), delivered the furniture, and were very efficient. The pros are that the service did exactly what they were supposed to-- nothing was missing, the movers were very respectful and nothing was damaged. The major con for me is that, up until the delivery, this was not a low stress exchange. The COI issue was not made clear to me until the night before move-in, and while it got resolved, up until the movers were there, I wasn't sure it was going to happen. Their commitment to resolving my initial problem and the quality of the movers earn them the extra star. read more

I don't normally write reviews but I had to write a review for these guys because one factor that initially made me hesitant to hire them was the lack of reviews on Yelp. As a result, I had initially selected a different firm to do my IKEA shopping and delivery - but as luck would have it - the other firm was not available for the weekend. However it all worked out for the best as these guys blew away my expectations by being brilliant, helpful and affordable! I had them install an entire IKEA bedroom for me (MALM bed with storage, 6-drawer dresser, nightstand, desk, chair, table, lamps) and they did a fantastic job. My appointment was for the evening and they were a bit late but Dennis (who does the assembly) still worked late into the night to finish assembly on the same day. It must have taken him about 4 hours to finish everything, but my room went from empty to complete. There were so many gigantic empty cartons left over but he helped move all of them to my building's basement. I must add - I had forgotten to include an ironing board on my shopping list until the morning of the day they were scheduled to deliver, but they still got it for me!
