I'm not usually in this area, but I had a few hours to kill because I was getting my car tinted across the street at San Diego Tint. I had just finished brunch at Shirley's Kitchen and still had a couple of hours to burn... No car, I just walked around and came across this tiny nail shop. I was due for a mani pedi, so it was prefect! All the girls here are really sweet. Lauren usually does my nails and she does an awesome job. I usually get a shellac mani, nothing too fancy with my nails. Occasionally I'll do a small design, but no bling like rhinestones. I've seen her acrylic work which is really cool, but I can never keep my nails long from breaking... Acrylics will never last with me. That and I don't want to ruin my fairly healthy nails. Jennie does an amazing job with my toes. She takes her time and is very thorough. It's a small shop, but you can get a lot of stuff done here. They only have two pedi chairs and two nail stations. They also have two salon chairs and two rooms for waxing. You can also get custom lashes done here. So if you walk in, there usually is a wait. I got lucky I my first visit and it was just me, so I got spoiled. Definitely make an appointment if possible. I'm horrible and always for forget the shop name to call... So I end up waiting. Decided to try this place because it was so close to my house and I saw a Groupon for the lash extensions. I bought the 65 lash per eye for $50. I was assuming the most expensive option would be the least natural but she informed me that it was still pretty natural looking. She offered me more dramatic/volume for $30 more (that's w a discount) lol. So in total I paid $80+tip. She also informed me that they have a "membership card" option for $10 and every time you come back you get your lash extensions for the groupon price. Lauren was really nice and sweet, I came in the day before to make an appointment because the phone line was busy and she was able to take me in the next day and their appointment book look pretty packed so I am thankful for that. During the process there was not much to none talking which I like because I don't really like talking about random things, I just wanna be in and out. Overall they looked good and cute, but I wouldn't say they're very voluminous or dramatic. They look similar to my natural sets that I get done else where. Now I'm wondering how the 65 lashes per eye would look if this was considered more voluminous. Giving 4 stars because she's is SO sweet she came out to my car to hand my my lash brush. Once again the lashes (3 stars and maybe a half) are nice don't get me wrong, just not what I imagined more volume would be for the extra $30. I'd consider these natural, personally. It looks like what my natural sets would look like at my usual lash place. I just wanted to try this place out cause it was so close by, and I had the groupon. Eyelash extensions. I've been getting extensions, on and off, since 2014. The thing I dislike is that it burns my eyes, the lashes and the glue seem to always adhere to my eyelids rather than just the lashes and they itch. But not this time. By far, this place deserves 5 stars! My lash tech, Lee, was amazing! She had such a light touch while she was putting on my idividual lashes, 75 lashes per eye, there was no glue stuck to my eyelids, it looks so natural, even my son commented on it. My eyes didn't burn. I just love it. The experience and the result. I will definitely be back and will recommend this place and my tech. read more

I don't put many low reviews, especially a one star. But this one is purely on their customer service and poor scheduling. I have been coming to them for a few months since I have moved back to SD. I found them through Groupon and decided I liked them enough to stay loyal. I even signed up for their membership program, that you pay separately for. It gives you some discount with your visits. I came only for eyelash extensions. Depending on who works on you, you can have longer lasting lashes and glue in your eye. I am a pretty patient person with high pain tolerance so I don't mind some glue in the eye. I had it happen with even the high end salons. The pricing for their services is average given the market. And I would have continued would it not been that I confirmed my appointment with them just two days ago stating that I need to be out by a certain time with the agreed appointment date and time. I drove 16 miles one way to get there. That is the type of customer I am. Once you are good to me, I am loyal to you and will rave to my friends and online. But when you screw me over, I cut ties and will let others know of my experience. I came early and waited. But then another customer comes in stating they have the same appointment slot. The technician then starts to grill me asking if I have the right date and time. Really? I show her my call logs saying yes because I had called them to confirm just two days ago. She flips through this hot mess of an appointment book looking for my PhoneNumber. She finds it for two days later. I remind her when I talked to whoever on the phone that I stated I needed my appointment as I was leaving the day before that date and would not be able to make it. No apology. Just making me feel like I am the one who made the mistake and I will be the one who lose out. I then said I am sorry for the situation and asked for my membership to be refunded. She then asked me how much I paid for it. I honestly answered I did not know as I was happy with them at the time and did not mind the charge. She gave me whatever she thought was right given the amount of time I had the membership. Some feedback. Don't make the customer feel like they are the ones who messed up when it was you and your team. If a customer drives 32 miles round trip, 1.5 hours total time wasted, the decent thing you can do is apologize. Not look sad and confused. As much as I rave and tell others of my good experiences, my bad ones get the same if not more. Don't waste your time or money with this one. I'm sure you can find something similar closer to home with at least better customer service and bookkeeping method. I love getting my eyelashes done here. They pay attention to detail and make sure I'm satisfied with them before I get out of the chair. If you get them done frequently you should get the membership it will save some $. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND. You get what you pay for. Look at all the other reviews. Burning glue in the eyes, check. Dirty, check. Long wait despite a scheduled appointment, check. Fake mink, check. I should've walked out the second I saw those reviews as I was waiting, but i had just bought the Groupon like everyone else, and I had an event coming up. Don't make the same mistake. I even started off by questioning whether the lashes were mink, and the lady simply bounced her fingers on them and said "see how soft?" But she didn't let me touch them, or inspect them. Then of course the burning started in my right eye. I complained and she brought one of those tiny little handheld fans you get at the dollar store, and blew some cool air into my eye. It helped a little, and I warned her to be more careful with my left eye. 30 seconds later, you guessed it, burning. More fanning. When she finally let me get up to look in the mirror, I was pretty horrified, it looked like dead spiders on my lids. But I kept my cool, and just said thanks. Then she had the nerve to try to sell me on their salon membership. As if. As bad as that was, it just added more salt to my eyes listening to them talk about me "behind my back", to my face, in Vietnamese. I'm not fluent but it was obvious from the glances and behavior. When I got home, my eyes were still burning. I waited to write this review for over a week. The eye burning went away after a day, but the lid irritation went on for five. Also the lashes are nylon. You will not convince me otherwise. I've had fake lashes put on before, they were mink and about 100 times softer than these things. The only good thing I can post about these is that they will not come off. I've tried ripping them off, because they are so uncomfortable. But my actual untouched lashes are falling off while these stay on somehow. The other reason I know these are nylon and not mink, is that they don't bend. The curvature doesn't soften overtime, they just stay there like plastic fork prongs. It's difficult to get my liquid eyeliner on behind them. Another problem I had with these lashes, is that I wasn't given a choice on length. At other salons, they give you a choice between medium, long, and stupid long. Not here. They are just long and so unnatural looking. If you insist on having your eyes burned out of your sockets, go for at least 45 lashes per eye. 30 is horrible. I had a great experience at this place so far. I originally got a Groupon for my eyelash extensions. But I've been back twice so far, got their lash membership and brought a friend. I've done my lashes with Lynn and Lauren and they both did a great job. I recommend scheduling an appointment with them but also maybe talk to them when arranging your visit as well to avoid any scheduling problems mentioned in other comments. It's not a glamorous place where you get a coffee and magazine while waiting at the reception desk. But the price is right and the girls do a great quality job on lashes. read more

I used to go to another woman who was doing it at an apartment but they would fall out after two weeks but this technician here they last a month and even longer and i barely brushed them. They rarely fall out it's very full and realistic too (excuse the facial expression i'm not really good at modeling lashes) but make an appointment and they'll get you right and it's affordable . read more

My sister found place when she was in town via a Groupon when we wanted to try lashes. I love love my lashes. I then started to get my nails done there as well as a one stop shop. I prefer to go during the week, because they aren't as busy and feel rush rush. I went today for my 4th time and my nails are great! They have helped me grow my natural and we do the dip polish the lasts me 2-3 weeks usually. My eyelashes last about the same. UPDATE: After 3 consecutive visits where they lost my appointment or decided to have me wait 45 minutes so they could take a walk-in, I asked what I could do to make sure my appointment would be remembered and on time. They said they were to busy to write the appointments down right away and so they would forget them frequently. What??? You forget to write down the appointment you checked the availability for while I was right there with you? So confusing. They never apologized. No joke 3 times in a row where they started me 45 minutes to an hour past my time. I always prebook my next appointment so it's not like I am just showing up. Their suggestion was that I start making individual appointments for each service. So come in one day for eyelashes, one day for nails, and another day for pedicure. I've been here twice, once for a powder manicure/gel pedicure and once for a gel manicure/regular pedicure. Positive: My nails lasted for 4 weeks... I only went back at that point because my nail growth was getting to be too much ( a good problem to have). They looked great! Everyone who worked there was so nice. Prices are great! Negative: I had appointments both times.... and I still had to wait an hour each time. Supposedly, if you have a membership they try not to overbook. It happens from time to time when the nail tech doesnt look at how my nail grows first. Purchased a Groupon for dip powder manicure and when I got there I actually wanted to make it dip powder on a set of nails. Lauren (the owner) was very accommodating and customer service was extremely refreshing. I used to go to Diva's religiously, however I grew extremely tired of their Terrible customer service. Lauren and her staff were all nice and immediately helped me out. I was in and out in 1 hour! Definitely recommend for nails. She was very meticulous about the shape, which I appreciate. So i purchased a Groupon for a nail dip manicure with oil massage. I made my appointment and told them this was a Groupon. I felt the place wasn't very clean when I walked in, but wanted to give them a chance. The gentleman who did my nails was very nice, but it took close to two hours. He also cut my cuticles with the file machine. I was ready to leave and was told I had to pay another $5 for the removal of the previous dip. I was not told this up front. Also, apparently if they had done my dip in the past, they would not have charged me. Isn't the whole point of Groupons to get new clients? I didn't even get the oil massage either. Do not do it here! The level of unprofessionalism and cleanliness is clearly not there at all. Not only is nothing explained of aftercare or what they're doing.. not even the lashes they're using.. they are so unsanitary and each person has a different method like the last girl cutting my NATURAL LASHES!!!!! I will never come here again! There's clipped acrylic nails on the floor, hair on the ground and their barbaside is almost black. I went back and they said they will do 3D I thought they were going to repair the damage and asked for $60. I said the lashes fell off!!! I paid it and left. ***UNHAPPY REVIEW*** Two weeks ago my sister, my aunt and myself went to perfect beauty center to receive eyelash extensions. We had purchased a Groupon for 20 lashes and paid a difference to receive more lashes for a fuller look. We worked out a number and price with Lauren who assured us that they were going to be good looking and that she was going to do a good job. My sister and aunt got theirs done by Lauren and I got mine done by another woman with reddish hair. The atmosphere was so so, their directions to us post extensions were not clear, then after application neither my aunt or sister were satisfied, I was okay with how mine came out considering it was our first time. But reluctantly we listened to instructions and left continuing to follow the instruction for care from Lauren and did everything she told us to do. By the end of the day and into the next day our eyelashes were literally FALLING OFF ONTO OUR CHEEKS AND INTO OUR EYES! It was beyond a frustrating and painful experience. We called back regarding potential refund or to schedule a touch up and when my aunt called to talk to Lauren she was beyond rude back to my aunt and hung up on my aunt because she didn't want to hear from us that she had done a bad job. She was unprofessional and should have listened and worked something out with my aunt. But instead she acted like an immature child and HUNG UP ON HER. All because she didn't want to hear my aunts complaint about her work. My aunts eyelashes were all clumped together with glue on one eye and they were HURTING HER. Does that sound like something you want to pay for? No? Me neither.. but Lauren seems to think that complaining about that isn't worth listening to. Needless to say I went back Monday for an touch up, received my touch up, but was insulted about my image by one of the employees while I was laying on the bed and then forced to pay them more than I was told I had to for a wax. It should have been complimentary for how poorly we had been treated by these people. Now fast forward to exactly a week post extension application and all of mine have COMPLETELY FALLEN OFF. And I followed all directions from Lauren for care. They had fallen off into my eyes all week, causing me to experience great pain and now they have all fallen off. I would NEVER RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO COME HERE. Spend a little bit more money and get them done somewhere else. It's worth it. Do not go there if you care about your nail health. This salon doesn't practice good hygiene and I got fungus infection on multiple nails after getting my nails done by sns dip only once. The gentleman claiming to be the manager at the salon didn't care about it and told me I already had it before coming to the salon. Apparently he mentioned it to me but I said it's okay and he can continue doing it. We never had this conversation. My nails were completely healthy and I hadn't gotten them done anywhere in the past year. I don't wear nail polish regularly and always have trimmed and clean nails.
