My husband and I called in for the volcano pedicure and it did not disappoint! The ladies were super sweet for squeezing us into their schedule last minute. The salon was clean, relaxing, quiet, and did not have that usual strong nail salon smell. We were offered drinks, I went for the pineapple juice, then the service started. The salon closes at 7 and our appointment was at 6 but our pedicures were not rushed over whatsoever. They went above and beyond taking us last minute and going over closing time for us. They took their time with everything: the washing, the scrubbing, the massaging, the cleaning, the painting. It was $55 for each person but they generously gave us 10% off, I guessing because we were first time clients. Their prices and the quality of their work cannot be beat. We left super happy with soft, smooth feet, I cannot recommend enough. We cannot wait to come back for more mani/pedi in the future! read more

First of all I wanna start by saying that I'm extremely picky when it comes to my nail shape. I usually go for an almond shape, & sometimes they can make it or too pointy or too wide. I recently moved to La Mesa, visited different nail salons until I found Tanya. I cannot recommend her enough, she's the best! She doesn't pressure you and takes her time to make sure everything is to your liking. She'll ask you throughout the appointment if everything is okay or if there's something you wanna change. She's also amazing at color matching. If you show her a picture of the nail color you want, she won't have you guess for you to pick the color closest to your picture. She will do the matching for you until it's almost as identical as the picture. She likes to do appointments for the same reason. Also, in other nail salons, even when I have an appointment sometimes they still make me wait a bit of time. Not here. They respect my appointment time every time. She recently started offering 10% off for new customers on 1st visit so make sure you mention that. I'm very glad I found this place & I'm sure if you give it a try, you will too! read more

I didn't get very many photos, but the photo I attached is the hand that was the better hand and the inspiration photo. I had come to this place expecting such good things because it has a 4+ star rating, however this place was not a 4 star rated place. I had a full set acrylic and pedicure done by a Vietnamese lady and she seemed kind, but definitely made a lot of comments that were not needed or asked for. I understand that she may be trying to help me with my "large amount of dead skin" and my sweaty hands, but it didn't need to be talked about during my whole time getting serviced. However, I understand how Asian aunts are like so I just listened and conversed kindly. When she got to my nails, I had shown her my inspiration photo and she said she already memorized it. Then she did my nails and I asked her to fix some things along the way and towards the end, there were bubbles and so I asked her to fix it. She then said that i was normal and proceeded to cover it with more gel top coat. Afterwards, she put oil all over my hands to help with skin and sweatyness. This then caused circular indentation looking bubbles on two of my left nails. Also, I had to refile all my nails because there all lopsidedly filed. It was so upsetting because she kept making me feel bad about asking her to fix things and to just trust her, but in the end that trust was definitely broken. All in all, I paid $95 for a deluxe pedicure because she said I needed to get all the deadskin scrubbed off of my foot. Then the acrylic full set with the super thick french tips that you probably can't call french tips anymore . On top of that, paying for the "flower design" of just circular dots within the same vicinity but WHAT KIND OF FLOWER IS THAT????? I JUST WANNA KNOW. Anyways, super annoyed and will definitely not come back. Toes are cute tho, she added glitter even though I did not want it. Anyways, if you wanna wait for like 30 minutes to get your nails done after reserving days in advance and to also get judged and have your nails turn out like it's been in Frank Ocean's tornado around his room scene then come here. I came here on my birthday, made an appointment the day before, came in after calling them, and letting them know I was going to be a few minutes... (3-5min. MAX), late. I literally live within walking distance so it took me its than 2min driving to get there. They told me it was a problem if I was going to be a tiny bit behind, but as soon as I walked in the door, I was denied and I come here all the time. I was extremely furious. I've had a extremely rough day. It wasn't the best birthday I could've imagined, but this was supposed to be my time to myself to relax... And it end up turning out to be the icing on top of a snowball effect of a day. I decided to walk down the street... across from the 7-Eleven to find another nail salon that just reopened. The decor was BEYOND BEAUTIFUL, they had a robot that delivered you drinks and a full drink menu alcoholic/nonalcoholic. it was pretty late like 8:00 PM and I was the last person there and was treated with the upmost respect and have been coming back to that same nail salon ever since. I will never come back to paradise nails. I am absolutely disgusted by how I was treated. IMO.... I'd take my business elsewhere. There are way better places...some even down the street read more

I found this shop on Yelp! One $ for pricing and I was in a rush, called to see if I could get a mani/pedi. I didn't ask questions but assumed I would get fair pricing. I paid $50 for the mani/pedi $2 transaction fee and I gave $10 cash tip... I later saw prices noted on Yelp! by a customer which that contradicted this amount. When I called the following morning, I was told that the brochure lists the prices. I wasn't offered a brochure and definitely not a free glass of wine. The part that gets me is she listens to my personal business and then does something like this. I also brought God into the discussion so I am confused by the subsequent price gouging actions. Ugh I hate rating places this low. I'm not even that critical of places, I feel I'm easy to please but unfortunately first and last time I'm coming here. I came with my cousin and surprisingly for a weekend it was quite empty. I have a nail place that I go to but my toes needed to be done since they were looking like a hot mess. And my normal spot is in clairemont and they were booked. We came here because it's close to home and unfortunately for the price we paid it was not worth it. We only got pedicures-$24 pedicures. Now my normal spot (envy nails) charges $23 for a regular spa pedicure and you get a complimentary drink (orange juice, mimosa, wine, or tea). This place was more expensive, did not offer a refreshment (which is fine) & kinda dirty. So although a dollar more than my usual spot, the appearance of the establishment wasn't as nice as my spot. There were flies in there (maybe because it was hot). And omg the lady was trimming my cuticles and hurt me several times. My other ladies rarely ever hurt me. She kept telling me not to worry . So anyways this was not a relaxing experience for me. And I just tried to be calm and ignore the pain. She painted my toenails and I was done before my cousin. She finished maybe 15 mins after me. I literally sat in the chair and let my feet air dry for 15 plus minutes. When we got home, omg there were bubbles on my big right toenail and the left big toenail was all bumpy. So disappointing that I can't even look at my toes. For $24 and them to be like that...smh. Also, during the process, they kept trying to do other services for my cousin to make money. They kept asking her to do her nails although she said no twice. I don't like it when they are pushy. She didn't ask me because mine were already done. And on top of it, after they swiped the card, they told us there was a $2 fee for charging on cards....they didn't tell us before we swiped until after. I'm sticking to my only nail shop and that's that. My friend and I came in at 6pm and wanted a dip powder manicure, however we didn't realize they close at 7pm. The ladies were extremely nice and took us in anyways and said they could do our nails. My friend had Theresa and I had Pamela. They did an amazing job! I wanted my shape to be longer however Pamela advised it would be best if I kept the length she suggested and I couldn't have agreed more!! She was attentive to detail and painted as close to my cuticles as possible! As for my friend, she loved the color and the shape, Theresa took her time and made sure that she was taken care throughout the process. I've visited this shop several times, most recently on 6/8/2022, and the results have been consistent and fairly priced for the service each time. The rainbow pastel nails in the photo cost $90 for a gel mani and pedi service and took about 3 hours. This shop is a hidden gem if you want good nail service in a clean environment for an affordable rate. The two women that primarily run the business are named Helen and Theresa. They're extremely friendly, Helen loves to have conversations with you. Theresa does a great job on my nails. She also takes extra care of my feet and helps me deal with my persistent dry skin issues. Some of her suggestions have been really helpful so that my feet don't get so bad. This has been something I've dealt with all my life so I really do appreciate that advice. It always comes from a kind place. One thing I'll say is that this is not necessarily a quiet and peaceful spa. It's a tiny room and usually both technicians are multitasking, working on at least one if not more people back-to-back without breaks. If you're late to an appointment, you made someone else late to theirs. That being said, even while waiting I never felt like a third wheel. Both Helen and Theresa have been accommodating and conversational even while working on someone else. They don't have the staff or perks of other salons to have a mini bar of offerings like wine etc., but if I've asked for water or something, they've always stopped what they're doing and taken care of my needs. Ask for prices ahead of time, or ask for the price list at the door (there's a brochure of services). Show a picture if you have something fancy. Each nail that's not just a solid color of paint may be extra charge (like designs and stuff), as is common practice in most salons. Weekdays are obviously a lot more accommodating that afternoons or weekends. I've never been able to walk in on a Friday or Saturday without making an appointment, they're usually booked up and I need to wait until the next day. So they're not necessarily the best walk in place for that reason. You may have to wait 1 to 3 hours and come back, but they always tell you that. (I think it's because they'll have to call in another technician to help.) Also I like that I can call or text ahead of time and just ask if there's availability. I recommend that that's what people try first before walking in. Also if you're the kind of person that just walks in the door of a place like that without an appointment and expects to have a person sitting and waiting to be able to take you immediately, and somehow you get offended(???) when that's not the case, please don't be rude. It's uncomfortable for other customers and not a good look for you. Long story short, good service, lively conversation, decent price, no bougie frills. read more

I tried this spot being new to the area looking for a go to spot to get nails done. I don't think I will be back. I read the good reviews and should have asked for Helen however I got Theresa. She was very rough with my hands. Cut my fingers with the file by filing too hard and in a rush. I dont even think she was looking at what she was doing. The shaping is uneven and very thick. I don't know what the black specks are in my nails as well... Cost wise I paid 37.00 for full set with gel. I have better service and quality elsewhere. Today my boyfriend and I went to nail's Paradise and spa on El Cajon Blvd. to indulge ourselves in a manicure and pedicure. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed by someone in this industry as I was with Helen. She is truly a phenomenal and detailed oriented in her craft. I had an idea of the color I wanted for my toes, and she help narrow it down to two options. For the design I left it open and she was able to craft a beautiful flower. When it came to my manicure, I'm particularly picky with the crispness of lines and the prep process. She was more detail than meticulous that I could ask for. My only disappointment is that I live in Connecticut and can't go to her regularly. I'll be back in April! This spa is small and intimate. I would highly recommend booking an appointment in advance. The prices are fair and reasonable, but the quality takes the cake. You have the option to pay by card for your service, as with most places it's recommended to tip in cash. This isn't going to be your corporate Mini Luxe feel of a nail salon but you will walk out more than satisfied with your expertise. Thank you Helen for being so awesome! You rock! read more

I was referred to Hellen & she's genuinely sweet. She's done my ombré gel manicures twice already and I love them. My nails were 3 weeks in & everyone complimented how I don't even need to get them done anytime soon. I love her technique and she takes her time to pacify your needs! Hands down the best nail shop in San Diego. Reasonable prices, excellent service and friendly staff. I have been going here for over 25 years with no issues. They believe in supporting their customers. If you feel something is not right or that you receive less than acceptable service (which won't happen) just say something- they will make it right. I can guarantee that if someone posts a negative review, it is because they want something for nothing, are just disgruntled in general or failed to get exact pricing of services before agreeing to them. Or perhaps they had too much wine! All the ladies in the shop take great care in providing their service and have the customers requests and positive interaction at the top of their list.
