I started contacting perfect day since January 25. They responded on the same day. My fiancé and I created a group text with them so we will be on the same page. The menu was revised 3x. We also agreed to have a food tasting. We were back and forth about the date. My fiancé is off every Mondays so he chose to go on his day off. Perfect day chose March 3 and they cancelled because of the storm. Since I am from SoCal I cannot go with my fiancé. They did not reschedule it but my fiancé was trying to reschedule. We did not wanna just pay right away because my fiancé had not had a chance to have a food tasting. Since we mentioned to them where we were from they became slow with response (race wise). When I noticed nothing was finalized I decided make a deposit right away but their response was someone already booked them. I don't suggest to book this caterer they are very unprofessional and wasted our time. After having a back and forth communication they dropped us. My wedding was catered, my husband loves food so I let him handle all of the food. As not to upset him, I'm going to let Yelp know what I thought. We got the pricier option per person (I believe around $50/$60 a head) we got the lobster tails but they were left in the shell. Over half the guests mentioned how messy, and weird it was that the shells weren't at least cut. As the bride is was pretty messy to deal with. The pork belly was okay, there was no good crust to it. It was just the fatty belly. I didn't like the fig appetizer (neither did my husband) Cupcakes were dry, even the PB&J jelly filled ones. It seems like I am the unfortunate bride to have gotten Kris on a REALLY bad day. We live five hours away from Sonora (our wedding was at Union Hill Inn), so it seemed impossible to have a tasting. We tried many times, but my husband's schedule is very random so it is hard to plan a day off in advance. We tried short notice, far in advance, weekdays, but every time Kris could not fit us in. I guess this should have been the first sign. My planner said Kris was her dream caterer and she was amazing, so I trusted her. Food is so important to me and there is nothing worse than bad wedding food. We picked our menu from her options and everything seemed fine. The day of the wedding we got our appetizers and they were AMAZING, I was so excited for the meal. But then we got our food...it was AWFUL! I literally gagged when I took a bite of the pork, it was like leather. I don't even know why a caterer would serve that, I would rather have had her not even bring it out, it looked like leather too. The brussels sprouts that she claimed had been a huge hit where whole and not cut in half so they were uncooked inside and almost broke my jaw. They were so hard that we even found them on the floor when cleaning up later because they had shot across the room. We also had polenta which was pretty bland and I love polenta. The chicken was ok, some people said theirs was dry and others said theirs was not cooked inside, so I don't even know. Mine was a little dry then in the thicker part was a bit better, it was nothing to write home about. We had a signature cocktail that I worked out myself and I had accidentally forgotten to give them the recipe. Nobody asked about it and just started making it. It was nothing like I wanted. When they gave me one it was all Gin and not well balanced at all, it was like drinking turpentine. I know, I sound like a picky bitch, but seriously this is how bad it was. This was the biggest disappointment of my whole wedding. I worked really hard on everything and I still get sleepless nights thinking about this and my wedding was in November. You pay someone almost 10,000 dollars then have your wedding guests actually tell you how awful your food was. She never even came to say hello and meet us, she ate her own food I am assuming, an apology would have been nice. Nothing. Maybe this is why she just left without saying bye not even giving us a chance to tip the staff or anything. I don't even know who else to recommend because in Sonora there is not much to choose from. Judging from the reviews she is always awesome and I am the one unlucky one. Just beware and communicate with her I guess and definitely have a tasting. Oh, and STAY AWAY FROM THE PORK!!! read more

The food was set up outdoors, which is not uncommon. However it was left uncovered, so you had to swat at the flies, bees and anything trying to get access to the food. During the planning process they were supper accommodating and answered all of my quirkey questions. I asked about pairing wine with the meal and Kris was quick to provide suggestions. We hired Lunch Lady Catering for our 65 person wedding at Big Trees State Park. We were coordinating from a long distance, so this situation could have been very tricky. However, Kris was absolutely fantastic and I am so happy we choose her and Lunch Lady Catering for our special day. Kris also helped us with some vases that we borrowed for the reception and even helped me find a generator at the last minute!
