THE absolute worst experiences over the last couple years. If I could give negative amounts of stars I would. This is NOT due to covid. We spent $12,000 on a brand new furnace and AC that came with a "warranty" AND signed up for their VIP plan that I was on autopay monthly for. Yesterday was the third time that we waited the appropriate length of the 4 hour "window" for them to come....and they never showed. They then called 30 minutes AFTER the window is over to reschedule. Nobody has time like that in their life to waste like that. They then tell us that our entire warranty will be void if we seek our annual maintenance services elsewhere. So in essence, I am tied to this crappy service for the next 20 years, or the life of a furnace?!?! I understand other more revenue building jobs come up, I understand that people have heating and AC emergencies.....but did you not know that at the beginning of a window that you claim I was in? You just figured that out 30 minutes after it was over? I just do not understand this business model. A courtesy call would be appreciated. If you're wondering why I've let this happen three times at this point in the story, it's like I said, they keep telling us they will void our warranty. So in conclusion, if you have 12 hours or more of your life to throw in a dumpster fire, call Perfect Home Services for all your heating and AC needs! Very overpriced. My furnace broke down. Tried to call Sears but they were not available for the same day service. Found Perfect Home Services over the internet. Called them, scheduled for same day service. The technician came and explained every step. The igniter and the flame sensor had to be replaced. Flame sensor costs less than $10 and I am sure igniter is also not very expensive. They guy charged me $459 for the repair. I asked him for the breakdown of the price, he refused and said that was the one amount which includes parts and labor. I had no choice at that time as it was freezing. Initially was happy with their service. I put in a new heating and air conditioning system. Ever since then their customer service stinks. This is the second time I have made a schedule routine maintenance appointment 2 week in advance. I took of work and arrange my schedule around this. I then do not hear from them at all. When I call I am told "we are very busy and may not get to you today". It seems they are only interested getting new business and customers. Beware o' pirates! Shower stopped working. Worked for one shower, turned it off and it would not turn back on. The handle turned but nothing came out. I was at work. My wife called Perfect Home. Their guy got there, turned the knob and said, "You need a new valve cartridge." She called me, and put the Perfect Home guy on the phone. Here is the exchange that followed: Me: How much? Him: $395 Me: That seems kind of high. H: That's the going rate. It's the book rate. You'll get the same from anyone else. M: Still, seems high. H: Well, that's a positemp valve. They're expensive. M: (checking online) Looks like $40 at Home Depot. H: Well, it's a time consuming job. M: To replace a Moen cartridge? H: How 'bout $350? M: I'd rather try it myself than pay that much. H: You'll regret it. It's harder than you can imagine, and I am not just saying that to get you to let me do it. M: Still, seems high, just to replace a cartridge. H: I'll call my office . . . (calls) . . . My boss says the absolute lowest we can go is $295. We are a big company with lots of overhead costs. M: Sorry, that's too much. H: I understand. That'll be $49 for the house call. When I got home, I watched a 12 minute YouTube video, went to Home Depot to buy the cartridge, and it took me about 12 minutes to do the job. In the process, I discovered that the cartridge was fine. The plastic part of the shower handle that fits over the valve stem had broken. That was a $5 part and a 2 minute fix. I replaced the cartridge anyway, just to prove that the Perfect Home guy had mislead me. It cost me $49 to learn: Never call Perfect Home! read more

Perfect Home Services did a great job from the time I called them for service on my furnace to when they finished installing a new one. When the tech came out and explained the issues with my old furnace and compared repair cost to a new furnace it made total sense to have a new furnace installed. On the day of install they were prompt, professional, clean and friendly answering any questions I had. What more can I say, they were the Perfect Home Service solution. I have been using perfect home services for a number of years. I have always found them to be very professional and more importantly, on time. I recently had to have both of my furnaces replaced. The crew that showed up was very polite, and kept me up to date on the progress of what was an 8 hour job. I felt the price was fair, and I felt the installers were very experienced and work well as a team. Overall I was very happy with what was a financially painful, but necessary project. read more

I knew my AC was leaking refrigerant. That's all. It did the same thing last year, I just wanted someone to come up and put more refrigerant in. A guy came out spent about 45 minutes checking everything? then gave me options of $3500 - $400 (the lowest being just to add the refrigerant). I said no, even $400 is too much, I thought I was clear on the phone that ALL I needed and wanted was a recharge. I said I want nothing, they charged me $50 for the "service" call. So be careful to let them know what you want up front (if you know, as I did). They could probably quote this over the phone. It was easy to get an appointment. The technician was in time frame. Service was very informative and helpful. I will recommend.

They charge 3x as much as other companies for the same service! We needed our furnace cleaned and checked out because it wasn't heating well. The technician that came out was very polite and professional, and discovered the part that needed to be replaced and explained the set cost of the part and install which he was able to do right away. He did not give me the break down of the cost of parts and labor, but rather a set price. We needed heat, and thought it was ok, only to find out hours later after calling around that I was charged $300 more for the service than what other places would have charged for the same exact service. The part cost no more than $20 and it took him minutes to replace. When I called the office, they informed me that they would not provide me with a breakdown of the parts and labor, and the price was "the cost of running a business." Well, that ENORMOUS cost just lost a customer and no further refferals. read more

Okay to be honest this should be 4 1/2 but now I can't change it. We have used this company since it was Perfect Air and they have been great. Our A/C died during one of the heat surges about 8 years ago. It happened when technician was out for something different but they came at 5:30 am the next morning with our new unit so that we didn't roast to death. When they replaced our 1960 furnace they were here for 15 hours. They had to saw our old furnace in half because it wouldn't fit up the stairs. We were not charged a penny extra for the extra time. During the blizzard of Feb 2011 they couldn't get to their offices either (2 feet of snow) but still answered phones. Our new furnace was out so they were trying to get someone here. Talked for awhile to person that answered phone and we both realized the vent was probably blocked (new furnace had vent out back wall not chimney-yes I have a 1960s house). I went and shoveled out vent and furnace kicked back on. 30 minutes later Perfect Air called to make sure I was okay and had heat. When we added an addition I didn't want to use the builders HVAC guy, we used these guys instead. Now they are Perfect Home Services. And it's nice they also do more than HVAC. Our plumber recently retired so we used them to fix a leaky faucet. What should have been an hour service visit turned into a 2 hour sales pitch to buy a water softener and other items that would improve the quality of our water. We are VIP customers do they come out twice a year to service our A/C and Furnace. Today, Joe did a great job and even figured out why our water pump had water around it and fixed it. I think their service providers they use are very knowledgeable and skilled and have always answered any questions I have. What loses them a 1/2 star is the hard sell approach I noticed in last few years with each service call. Each time they come out they have a suggestion for something new I should buy. Today with the furnace I bought an air cleaner and I think it was a good purchase but when I get my A/C or Furnace serviced I don't need them to spend extra time checking my water and trying to sell me something else. They didn't used to be like this and I hope they back off this approach or they are going to off put a lot of people and lose customers. I know they hire quality people and will continue to use them but if they keep this approach up they will not retain many new customers who are off put by their up sell read more

I'm basically happy with the furnace and air conditioner installation. The installers did an excellent job and were very professional and knowledgeable. I believe I got a good price on the system that was installed. However, I have a bit of buyer's remorse regarding the air conditioner as, after spending some time online researching Lennox furnaces and air conditioners, it appears that the air conditioner is their basic, bottom of the line model. I would have preferred to pay more for something a little better. read more

If Yelp did 1/2 stars, this would be 4.5. My only complaint with Perfect Home Services is they tend to be a little more expensive, but the tradeoff is the great service. I discovered at 7am this morning that water wasn't coming out of the faucets. I called Perfect Home Services at 7am and Jacques showed up about 45 minutes later. He quickly concluded that my 25-yr old water heater was finally done. He laid out my options and once I had made my decision, he immediately started on replacing the unit. He was knowledgeable and friendly. Within 5 hours of discovering a problem, my old water heater was gone, a new heater was installed with new hookups, I had hot water, no mess and Jacques was on his way. read more

Our house had a backed up drain causing minor flooding in our basement for which we needed same day assistance. We called Perfect Home Services and asked for same day service and then after speaking with a customer services representative, we purchased the $125 voucher advertised. The representative said she would contact us to tell us to tell us what time the plumber could come. We felt we were getting a good deal for rodding and were looking forward to redeem our voucher. A while later we were contacted by the dispatch department who surprised us with a hidden $100 "emergency fee" (which costs more than the voucher we purchased) to come same day since he could not come till after 5:00. The possibility of us being charged additional fees was never discussed with us in our original conversation with the customer services rep. We disputed the additional charge, and argued that we would not have purchased the voucher if there was any possibility of us not getting same day service. The rep refused to acknowledge that she was unclear when originally speaking with us and suggested that we contact Yelp to refund the voucher we purchased. We are thoroughly disappointed that this company chose to loose a customer instead of acknowledging their mistake. read more

I just have to say kudos to perfect home services. In my work as a real estate agent, I come across many scenarios where we need good quality heating and cooling people to come in after a home inspection, etc. This company can do it all...my client needed a plumber, a/c guy and an electrician....now this company is a one stop shop as they do it all!! Personally, they have done all of the equipment in our home, and I could not be happier. I have a permanent maintenance contract for them for service. I also had a clogged basement toilet...one call and they were out and fixed the problem in two hours tops. I would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality/high standards....they wear shoe covers, phone call just before arrival and they arrive on time, clean up after themselves. My A/C of 20 years decided to croak about a week ago, leaving me with no choice but to get a new unit. It turns out the main coil was done, and after further inspection, my furnace had several 'cracks' in it. Not good. Lucky for me though, the temperatures were dipping from the 90's down to the 70's, so I had time on my side to find the right company to install my new unit. I initially had six different companies come in and give me bids. What an eye opener THAT was. Costs were all over the place, and each one of them seemed to push a different brand of equiptment. In the end, I felt most comfortable with Trane, and went back to three of the guys who were selling that brand. Perfect Home was the most expensive at first, but after further discussion with them, they brought their price down to the mid-level of another contractor. What really sealed the deal for me, was their 10 year parts AND labor guarantee. All other companies either gave one year, or two years, with one of them only covering parts, not labor. I decided that the extra I would pay now, would be worth the peace of mind later. Russ from Perfect Home, showed up with Mark, and in a day and a half, installed my new furnace and a/c. VERY nice guys, and very considerate of me working in the next room from home. Possibly the cleanest job ever done in my house too! Not a speck of debris, dust, or dirt anywhere after they finished each day. They also work booties on their feet at all times so as to not drag any dirt into the house. Prompt, professional and honest service was what I got. Thank You Perfect Home Services! **Update. As it turns out, the electrical wiring in a hundred year old home doesn't always support these new a/c units. The Perfect Home Services electrician, Chris, came over twice to see what the issue was, and rewire the entire A/C unit to my electrical box with upgraded wire. Came home to a leak from a pipe causing water to rain down in my basement. I'm always worried about getting taken advantage of by handymen and plumbing issues are never cheap. For the first time I feel I was given a fair price, relatively speaking, and quick good work. They responded to my call for help quickly and also honored the Yelp coupon I took advantage of. ***BUYER BEWARE*** When my main sewer line backed up into my basement I called Perfect Home Services. The plumber TV'd the line and told me there was "catastrophic damage" in the main line due to roots. He said that the line didn't connect properly to the city sewer. Worse of all the quotes went from an outrageous $15,000 to lower priced options that would not solve the problem, according to the plumber. I was a basket case! Thankfully, I called other plumbers and their rate to replace the line was $2800; a far cry from 15k! But then I called the City of Naperville. They have a fantastic program to protect tax payers from scams like this. They sent someone out at 8:30pm on a holiday weekend and he was very informative and compassionate. But most important I learned that the sewer line DID NOT have to be replaced! He told me exactly what to ask for from the next plumber AND said that they would send someone out while the plumber was there if I ran into any problems again. If your line backs up and you live in Naperville or another town that offers this service please call them first! It's sad that companies like this are out there taking advantage of people! I have spent over $7000 with this company (in only two weeks) and would have spent more on an electrical upgrade for my home however they literally forgot my appointments two times and the third time they sent an HVAC installer to gather information for the electrical work I was going to have done. These guys are in price gouging business. When you call them for service they never give you price and they we will come and inspect for $49 and waive the fee if do repair. Requested a estimate to install a new (owner supplied) shower pan in prepared area (drain line already roughed in per mfg specifications) and replace the shower valve. I expected this would require 2-3 hours of labor and travel time, so I expected an estimate of about $500. Their representative presented a $2400 estimate (WOW). At $100 hr, that would be three days work??? Then they charged me $49 for the estimate. If they didn't want the job, why didn't' they just say so and save me my time and money. These people are not what they say and will rip you off given the opportunity. Watch out!! Oh Yea, Make sure you read the service contract fine print. It contains an indemnification agreement, simply stated, you give up your right to any legal action due to their negligence: so they can burn your house down and not be held responsible. read more

Not sure where to start. First the company is very responsive but I'm just confused at the moment. I tried using their contact page in their website and haven't gotten any response, so maybe I get one from this review. Took advantage of the "First Responder Free A/C check and disinfectant " from the check it turned out I may have a veeery slow leak in my system and needed some Puron, system was still cooling but wasn't getting cold enough ( I like it freezing lol). Got charged 350.00 which iin my opinion in the high side. I normally pay 89.99 from another company to do the check-up and if any Puron is needed a complimentary top off up to 1 lbs and 45.00/lbs after that. I don't think my system needed 7lbs of Puron ? Anyway to anyone needing A/c service just make sure that a statement of work is defined before letting anyone do work. ( I know it's hard when it's freaking Hot) so in the end, I really didn't get anything for FREE and might have gotten OVERCHARGED! read more

They were quick to respond, honest, and every single person who came out was courteous. We wound up needing to upgrade our 30 year old air conditioner and furnace and they installed both quickly with quality. Our blower motor in our furnace went out on Saturday. My fiance called perfect and they came and diagnosed the problem but quoted 1200 dollars! Which is absolutely insane. We called epic heating and cooling in Schaumburg and they did it for $475. REALLY trying to take advantage of people during one of the coldest days of the year. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. They also said our exchange motor and exchange would need to be replaced at a cost of 1300 and 2800 dollars. Epic heating and cooling informed us that was not the case. We were worried because it was last minute and an emergency. The company was able to get a tech out to us the same night at no additional cost. Jason T, our tech, was very good and answered all questions clearly. He explained the problem we knew we had and pointed out other issues we should address. He also gave us a full write up on what all of our options were and fixed our furnace in no time. We are going to have to replace the furnace soon and we are definitely considering going with Perfect Home Services. With respect to the HVAC services, we've been a premium member for several years now and have always been pleased with the service and options provided. We've replaced 2 furnaces and an air conditioning unit in the last 6 or 7 years and were very happy with the options and pricing available as well as the installation and service. When we need service or maintenance, we are always provided prompt attention and when technicians are (rarely) running late, they are very communicative. Our experience with the plumbing services have been less satisfying. Nice guy came to the house on several occasions to fix the same issue, once requiring my help with my own shop vac (?), and the end result is that, while the tub faucet no longer leaks, it has the slowest flow imaginable, taking 30+ minutes to fill the tub. On the last visit, we were told the entire mechanism would have to be replaced, because the $300 part that was replaced twice is apparently not the problem after all. Replacing the entire mechanism requires tile removal and repair and is a hefty cost, so... we're just taking showers exclusively for a while. But, for heating and air conditioning, I highly recommend this company! read more

This guy not only goes above and beyond, he comes fully prepared with the correct materials, to get the job done RIGHT the first time..And he really knows his stuff, we feel we are truly in good hands, whenever Keith comes out to service our Trane furnace unit/piping!!! I had been using Perfect Home Services for routine inspections on my AC and furnace for the past couple years. No complaints with those service guys. However, I called to get a quote on a replacement AC unit since mine is ~18 years old. I was able to seemingly schedule an appointment for 4:30 later that same day. On my way home to meet the estimator, he called me and said he received word that I was looking to schedule an appointment to get an estimate. I told him I already had one for 4:30. He said that the office staff is not supposed to schedule his appointments, but rather to let him know so he can schedule the visits himself. This seemed odd to me as I had called 3 other places as well and none of them operated this way, but I did "reschedule" with him for the following Monday at 4:30. Fast forward to the following Monday at 4:30 and surprise...he never shows. Never calls or anything. I called their office and compained about him by name. They offered to schedule a visit from a different estimator, but not worth it to me. There are far more companies out there looking for my business that don't require this much effort from the customer! Disappointed and unimpressed! read more

Would not use again. Cancelled 1st appointment, were quite late for the 2nd. Were not able to fix the key thing I was having them out for and if I would have know that I would not have called a plumber to fix the other small issues that a much less expensive handyman could have easily handled. $186.00 to replace a toilet flapper is a bit much. The only bright side of this was the service specialist Jeremy was polite, quick, and seemed to be knowledgeable. I guess plumbers are the new doctors.......... read more
